Chapter 1: Servants - Heroic Spirits
Within a different world there exists the city of Orario, the City of Adventurers. Mortals of all ages and races travel to this city in pursuit of their desires and dreams. For this is the City of Adventures. Orario was built over a massive underground labyrinth that spawned monsters out and threatened the lives of all who lived on the surface and in the past were left unchecked save for the efforts of brave heroes who made contracts with enigmatic spirits and fought back against the endless hordes.
It was only when the Gods above came down from Heaven and sealed the dungeon with the Tower of Babel and offered their own gifts to the ones living on the surface were the mortals able to fend for themselves, and the contracts between spirits and mortals fell out of use in favor of the gods' blessing, the Falna.
The Falna is the blessing given by the gods to members of their family, or Familia. Within these Familia are adventurers who make use of their gods' Falna to make a living both within Orario and its Dungeon and outside of it. The power of the Falna increases the more experience (known as excelia) they gather. This excelia is written upon their Falna, allowing a god to read about the growth their child has experienced like a story.
Currently within the dungeon, a young and new adventurer was making his own story, bringing back the legends of old and of another world. The legends of heroes, spirits, and contracts.
In the Dungeon - 5th floor
A young man who had short white hair, red eyes, wearing a hip-length brown coat with a small patch on the right side covered by small metal breastplate, and below his waist was dark pants and brown shin-high boots. This young man was Bell Cranel.
He made his way to through the dungeon; an underground labyrinth hoarding monsters from Goblins to dragons with rewards well worth the toil, paying attention to his surroundings in order to not be caught of guard by either the Kobolds or Goblins that live on the upper floors. Today he had decide to try going a bit further in than he normally did. Although it's only been two weeks since he became an adventurer, he already made it to the 5th floor of the dungeon. According to his guild advisor, Eina Tulle, most newbie adventurers stuck to the first two floors and didn't go further without prior preparation.
However, Bell felt that he was making enough progress that he could go a bit deeper since he could already handle Goblins and Kobolds on the first four floors and wanted a change in scenery.
"I know Miss Eina said that I wasn't ready to go deeper…" Bell muttered as he looked around the 5th Floor as. "…but their hasn't been any monsters appearing for awhile now."
He had been their for few hours and hasn't been any monster spawning on the floor for awhile.
Although the monsters were always being born within the dungeon, it wasn't a constantly spewing mass of them. If another adventurer or a group of them had cleared out an area of monsters, it would be some time before more were spawn.
"I guess their isn't anything I can find in this floor for while." He said as he looked around while scratching the back of his head. "Maybe I should try another spot or just head back." as he said began to walk further in.
As he walked through the floor he saw a something shinning at the corner of a wall.
"What that?" Bell asked himself before going up to the wall to find a beautiful golden goblet on the ground. "A golden cup? Why is something like this here in the Dungeon?"
As he was examining it he found that it was kind of beautiful and looked very valuable and it look like it belongs in a pile of treasure as he was amazed and mesmerized by the goblet. It was overall rather simple in shape but the detail engraved into the gold itself was amazing.
"Wow…" Bell was examining as he was wondering how much the goblet but he couldn't sell it as he have another thought came to him. 'I think this would be a great gift for my goddess, plus I couldn't sell it, it just look so amazing.' he thought as he put the goblet into his bag.
"I think that probably enough for today." Bell said as he stood up. "I should head back no." he said as he turn around heading back towards the surface.
As he was about to make his way back to the surface he heard a roar of a monster behind him and saw that a giant brown skinned monster that have the head of a bull and the body of a man, a Minotaur. A monster so powerful that it could easily defeat a high-class adventurer if they aren't careful that spawn in the middle floors.
But it wasn't supposed to be seen on the upper floors where newbies resided.
"URRRROOOOOARRRRR!" the Minotaur let out a roar as it strike Bell with his fist but he dived out of the fist trajectory which smashed into the ground and left a small crater.
Bell then ran as fast as he could away from the monster. He had no idea where he was running to but anywhere was better than his current position. Unfortunately, he only ended up at a dead end found himself with his back against a wall with the Minotaur looking down on him.
"Hiii!" Bell let out another shriek in fear as he used his arms to protect him from the monster but he knew it was futile. And so, he could do nothing but beg with all of his might.
'I don't want to give up, but I'm afraid. I don't want to be just another body. I want to be able to raise my hand against my opponents. I want to be able to stand up and fight by my own terms. I want to…' he thought as he close his eyes in frustration. '… I want to be a hero!' Bell last thought as preparing to be attack by the Minotaur.
Then, as if reacting to his wish, the goblet in his bag began to glow. Later a sudden red flash appeared on back of Bell's left hand and flash of light appeared between the Minotaur and Bell.
The light then faded and a man appeared holding a pair of swords. As he saw the bull monster the man quickly launched himself at it, slicing its chest open causing the monster to scream in pain and instantly killing it, as it begins to die the Minotaur falls to the ground of the Dungeon's floor hard and turn into black mist leaving behind a purple crystal, it's magic stone.
As the monster scream was heard Bell open his eyes to see how he survived. As he did he saw the man who saved his life from the Minotaur. He was man with tanned skin and stark white hair, wearing a black armor with a red mantle over it, in his hands were a pair of swords, one black and the other white with some kind of eastern design.
Bell stared at him as he saw how heroic and cool he was as if he was a legendary hero from one of the stories his grandfather would read to him.
The man turn to Bell as he saw him staring at him in awe.
"Archer-Class Servant, Emiya Shirou. By your request I have been summoned." the man now named Shirou said to Bell causing to snapped out of his stance. "I ask of you. Are you my Master?" Shirou asked with a smirk on his face to Bell, who just stare at him with a confused expression.
"I…uh…huh?" Bell babble as he couldn't find or say any words to Archer as watch Bell fumbled his words with smile on his face.
"You all right over there?" Shirou asked as he bent down to grab the magic stone.
"Ah! Y-yes!" Bell said as he quickly got up to his feet. "Thank you for saving me!" he said as bow his head to him.
"It's what I do…" Shirou replied to him with a smirk. "…catch." he said as he tossed the magic stone to Bell.
"Huh? W-what!?" Bell replied as the magic stone bounced around in his hands for a moment before he managed to hold it.
"W-wait a minute." Bell said as he realized that Shirou gave him the magic stone of the Minotaur he defeated. "I can't take this! You're the one who defeated it, so it yours." he exclaimed to Archer, but only to find that he was already gone.
"W-what!" Bell said in a surprise tone. "Where he go?" he asked as he looked around.
Bell looked at his surroundings and couldn't find him, he decided that it was time to head back to the surface as he headed back. As he headed back to the surface a young woman with long blonde hair and gold eyes in armor with a sword in hand arrived and see that the Minotaur was already killed and saw Bell leaving to the surface with its magic stone in his hand.
"Did that boy defeat it?" she wondered to herself as she looked at him.
In the city of Orario
The city of Orario was bustling with people of all different races and professions enjoying their time. Merchants were keeping their business up, commoners buying or working with no problems, and the adventurers heading out to make a name for themselves as they test their luck in the Dungeon.
Bell ran through the streets of Orario and headed straight to the Guild building, an organization which buys loot from the adventurers and advise them when entering the Dungeon.
As he was getting closer to the Guild he caught the sight of someone, a young lady with brown hair, green eyes, elf ears, and wore something that resembled a business suit with glasses. She was Eina Tulle, Bell's advisor, and she appeared to be walking out with some papers.
"Miss Eina!" Bell called out to her catching her attention.
"Oh Bell!" Eina replied, as she saw him running to the Guild with a smile on his face.
"Can please tell me anything you know about someone named Emiya Shirou!" Bell shouted to her hoping to know more about the person who saved him.
A few minutes later…
"You should know better!" Eina exclaimed as she was crossing her arms and had a scolding face after hearing Bell explained the event on what happened at a booth in the Guild building. "What were you thinking going down to the 5th Floor?"
"Simply entering the Dungeon without a party is dangerous enough!" Eina lectured Bell as he looked ashamed for his action. "I keep telling you. Adventurers do not go looking for adventure!" she scolded him as she lead forward to him.
"Yeah…" Bell replied as he slumped a bit. "I'm sorry."
Eina them sit right back at her sit on a bench across Bell's as she sighed.
"Bell, luck is on your side." She said to Bell with a smile on her face. "Not many Level 1 adventurers, let alone those who've only been on for two weeks, could survive a Minotaur attack." She said to him as some of the Guild employees were watching and listening in on them.
"Yeah…" Bell replied softly as he still feel a bit ashamed.
Eina then flicked his forehead surprising him and grabbing his attention. "Anyway, I'm just glad you're safe." she said as she was leaning towards him with the small table and had a smile on her face. "Be more careful next time, okay?"
"Yeah!" He replied with his own smile.
"So do you have any information about Mr. Emiya…" Bell asked as he act a bit shyly about it.
"What?" Eina replied with a look of curiosity on her face with her right hand up her chin. "Don't tell me you've become a fan of your savior." she asked with a sly smile on her face.
"Well, um…" Bell mumbled as he couldn't find any word to say to what Eina said.
"You have, haven't you?" Eina said with a knowing smile.
"Yeah!" Bell confused to her.
"Emiya Shirou." Eina said as she thinking about it. "I never heard that name before." she replied surprising Bell with that answer. "And I certainly don't remember anyone who fit the description that you mentioned to me Bell." she said, which surprised Bell to hear that even his advisor doesn't even know about him.
"Seriously!?" Bell replied in a shocked expression. "But he beat a Minotaur in a blink of an eye, I was sure he was one of the top adventurers in Orario with that kind of strength."
"I'm just as surprised as you when I heard that." She said as she was also surprised when Bell told her how Shirou saved him. "He maybe an adventurer from outside of Orario that just arrived today or something." She said as he was also not sure.
A few minutes later…
The two then got up and continued talking as the sun was beginning to set.
"Anyway I will looked into it and try to find any information about him for you, okay Bell?" Eina asked him with a smile.
"Okay," Bell replied with a sigh as he couldn't find anything about Shirou, he then turn to her.
"Come on, cheer up!" Eina said with a smile as she trying encouraged him. "Go and exchange the magic stones you earned today."
"Okay." Bell said in a disappointed tone before going to the currency exchange. "Here." he said as he dropped a few magic stones in a drawer in front of the receptionist. The drawer closed for the receptionist to take the magic stone.
"Here you go." The receptionist said as the drawer open back on Bell side with a small pouch of coins. "50,000 vails." the receptionist said to Bell, who was shocked with the amount of money that he just received.
"Thanks." Bell said as he took the pouch excitedly and shook it to hear the sound of gold coins clattering.
Bell was making his way to the exit but stopped and turn to Eina. "Okay, I'm off." he said as he was about to leave.
"Bell." Eina said, causing Bell to turn to her as she caught his attention. "Listen, people like strong and reliable guys they can rely on. So if you keep at it and grow stronger, you might make him notice you." Eina said to encouraged him to cheer him up and to keep moving forward.
"Yeah!" Bell replied energetically to what Eina told him.
"Thank you, miss Eina!" Bell said as he bowed to her. "I love you!" he said to her as he exited the Guild building.
"Wha…" Eina yelp in surprise at Bell's sudden confession.
While one of two adventurers; a human and a dwarf, whistle to that and one of the Guild staff had a smile on his face. "Isn't that sweet?" the dwarf said.
"Maybe I was a little too nice." Eina said as she regains he composer of Bell sudden confession.
In Orario
Bell was running through the streets of Orario as the sun was setting and the sky began to darken and street was lighted up by magic stone lamps turning on, and the stall on the street were selling foods and other things. While Bell was running through the busy street with a smile on his face as he remembered the words of his late grandfather told him long ago.
'Bell, a promising young adventurer like you needs to find love in a dungeon. Once you save a young maiden from a big ugly terrifying beast. You'll be in her good graces. And that is what adventuring is all about.'
Bell then exited on of many alleys and arrived at the ruined part of Orario which had many worn down building around the district.
'I wonder if something like that could every happen to me?' Bell thought as he stare at the scenery of the old ruin district of Orario.
'But for now…' as he thought as he took a deep breath a look of determination was present on his face. 'I have to do my best!'
"You seem more excited now." a familiar voice said on his right side.
As Bell was about to leave again he heard a familiar voice to his right side. As he turn to the source of the voice he found the man that saved him resting against the wall of the building with his arms folded across his chest.
"Hey kid, happy to see me again?" Shirou asked with a smirk on his face.
"I-its you again!" Bell exclaimed in both shocked and excitement. "Again, thank you for saving me!" he said as he bowed to him.
"No problem, glad to see you made it out ok." Shirou replied.
"Oh! I didn't get the chance to introduce myself." Bell said as he realized that he never told him his name. "My name is Bell Cranel, it's nice to see you again Mr. Emiya."
"Oh, so you did listen to me when I introduce myself to you." Shirou said and Bell replied by nodding to him. "Well anyway just call me Archer and drop the Mr. too."
"Huh, but why though." Bell asked as he was confused by his request.
"I'll explain later, okay Bell?" Shirou replied, which Bell just accepts it.
"Then…Archer?" Bell said as he nodded. "I haven't asked yet, but which Familia are you from?" he asked.
"A Familia…huh," Shirou replied as be was going through the information that the Holy Grail gave him. "I don't belong to any Familia yet."
"Please don't tease me like that hahahaha…" Bell said and laugh as he didn't believe someone of his skill isn't part of a Familia yet. But as he saw Archer looked at him with a smirked he started to believe him "…hahaha…you're not joking, are you?" Bell asked him.
"I'm not." Shirou said with a nod, causing Bell to be surprised again.
Then Bell ran up to Archer "T-t-t-then can I ask you to join my Familia?" he asked him, hoping to get a new member to join his familia. "I mean, we're not well off and it's only me and my Goddess there, but if you join I think we'll be able to become a great Familia!" he exclaimed excitedly.
"Well, I was actually planning to go with you." Archer said which make Bell happy. "I have something to discuss with you, and if your Familia only have you and your goddess in it, all the more better." He said which caused Bell to be surprised and by curious what he wanted to discuss about.
"What I want t discuss with you and your is something I don't what others that are untrustworthy to know about." Shirou exclaimed which cause Bell to be even more curious about it.
"Okay." Bell said to him. "Let head back to where my and my Goddess is staying. There you can talk to her on what you want to discuss about."
Later Bell guided him through the old ruin district of Orario until they reached an abandoned run down church.
"It's not much since we're kinda poor…" Bell admitted as the church walls where crumbling and the goddess statue on the roof was also riddled withe more holes than a piece of Swiss cheese. "But it's really comfy. We have running water and a kitchen at least."
"Just having a roof is enough for me." Shirou said as he followed Bell inside. They went pass the broken pews to a small room behind the altar, revealing a set of stairs. The two of them descend the stairs to a small room with a bed and shelves.
"Goddess! I'm back!" Bell announced before being hugged by a seemingly young girl.
She has roundish blue eyes and light-black hair tied into two twin tails. Her hair reaches down to her mid thigh. The two twin tails are held up by bows that resemble white and blue flower petals and two rectangular bell shaped ornaments. She also wore a white mini dress with a blue ribbon around her collar and one tied under her breasts around her arms, and a pair of white gloves. She was also barefooted. This was the goddess who is the leader and founder of the Hestia Familia, Hestia herself.
"Welcome home, Bell!" Hestia cheerfully greeted him. "You're back early today…" Hestia said as she looking at Bell and noticing Archer at the back. "…and who's that with you?"
"Goddess, this is Emiya Shirou, but he goes by Archer!" Bell introduce him excitedly to Hestia. "He saved me today. And that he wanted to discuss something with us as well as join our Familia!"
"Really?" Hestia shouted as she ran up in front of Shirou. "Do you really want to join my Familia?"
"Y-yes…" Shirou answered with a nod which caused Hestia to look so happy. "…but I need to discuss something's with you and Bell first, Goddess Hestia." he said in a serious tone.
Bell and Hestia was surprised by the serious expression Archer wore on his face.
"Okay." Hestia said as she sat down on a couch with Bell by her side. "What is it you want to discuss about."
"Okay, well for starters…I'm not exactly human." Shirou said to them.
"Eh?" Bell gasped as he and Hestia looked at him. "What are you talking about? You look human enough to me."
"Did you forget, Bell?" Archer asked. "About a certain thing you picked up in the Dungeon?"
"Picked up?" Bell said as he thing and realized. "Ahh! I totally forgot!" he said as he quickly opened his bag and pulled out the golden goblet he found on the ground in the 5th Floor of the Dungeon.
"Bell? What is that?" Hestia asked as she stared at the golden goblet. "It doesn't seem like a normal cup."
"That's thing is called the Holy Grail." Shirou explained. "Under normal circumstances, it's able to grant the wish of anyone who possesses it."
"Under normal circumstances?" Hestia asked. "What's abnormal about this one?"
"Considering that it was found in the Dungeon, for one." Archer pointed out. "Also I should mention that I and the Holy Grail originally came from a different world."
"WHAT!?" Hestia and Bell shouted at the same time. "Your from another world?"
"Yeah, I'm not from this world." Shirou replied with a bemused expression. "Anyway back to my explanation." Shirou said, snapping Bell and Hestia from their shock.
"I can take it from here Archer." a voiced of an old man said to them coming from the direction of stairs, causing them to turn to the source to see an old man with a beard and red eyes.
"Who are you?!" Hestia shouted.
The old man turn to Hestia. "Allow me to introduce myself Lady Hestia." he said with a mischievous smile on his face. "I am the Wizard Marshall of another world and the master of the True Magic known as the Kaleidoscope. A Dead Apostle. My name is Kischur Zelretch Schweinorg." the old man introduced himself to them, as he exaggerated bow to Hestia and Bell.
Hestia eyes widened as she couldn't sense any lies coming from him. Meanwhile Shirou stared at the man with a deadpanned and exasperated expression as he know as he knew how the old troll love to mess around with people he find interesting.
"What are you doing here Zelretch." Shirou asked as he placed his hand against his face.
"I was just wondering around and came across something." Zelretch replied with a mischievous smile on his face but as he turn to Bell and Hestia he adopted a serious expression. "All that aside, I came here to explain what's going on and it also involves these two as well."
"So you two are really from another world?" Hestia asked as she and Bell was quite nervous of the situation.
"That correct." Zelretch replied. "And Archer here is what you call a Servant or to be precise a Heroic Spirit." he said to them causing Hestia's jaw to drop and Bell have stars in his eyes.
"You mean Archer is a spirit? Like the ones in the legends?" Bell asked excitedly.
"Well it's something like that." Zelretch commented. "Let me explain from the beginning, okay?" he asked and both Hestia and Bell nodded.
"Okay, a Heroic Spirit, like Archer here, is not quite the same thing that you would call a spirits in this world, which are the closest beings to the gods and are the elements in their nature." Zelretch explain as both Bell and Hestia payed attention to him. "Instead, you could also consider them as a type of ghost or specter, shadows of those that had made their marks on history, figures of myth and legends, stored in what is called the Throne of Heroes. The Throne is a dimension into itself, beyond the axis of both space and time and can be considered multiversal in its nature. When certain circumstances have been met, it is possible to summon a Heroic Spirit straight from the Throne with the help of the Holy Grail, which causes them to become what is known as a Servant. A Servant is bound to their Master, the person who summoned them, since they can't exist for very long without a constant stream of mana, or magical energy."
"Wait, so Archer is a hero?" Bell asked excitedly. "Like the ones from the stories my grandpa used to tell me when I was a kid?" he asked and then realized something, "Wait does that mean I'll be able to summon one of the heroes from those stories my grandpa's books?"
"Supposedly,…" Archer answered, "…but normally you only get one though." he said as he pointed to himself.
"I see…" Hestia mumbled to herself as she hold her chin as she understood what they where tell her and Bell. "So Shirou a legendary figure from another world brought to this one after his death by Bell and this golden cup you called the Holy Grail and he is dependent on it to stay here?" she summarized and received a nodded from both Zelretch and Archer. "Does that mean your "name" is a title of sort?"
"Yes. Their are seven classes of sorts act as containers to hold the Heroic Spirit." Archer said as he began to explain to them. "There's Saber who are heroes well known for their swordsmanship or one that carries a famous sword, Archer are peerless bowman but any kind of projectile would work such as a sling, Lancer are heroes that wields a polearm and usually are known for their speed as well, Rider are heroes who usually has a famous mount, Caster are peerless magicians, Assassin are feared and famous killers, and Berserkers are heroes who lost their reason and went mad at one point in their livers, there are also extra classes but that not important right now."
"You see, the reason for this is because it's to perform a ceremony of sort to use the Holy Grail's power." Zelretch said.
"A ritual to use the Holy Grail's power?" Bell and Hestia asked in confusion.
"The Holy Grail is a powerful magical artifact, often referred as "the Omnipotent Wish Granter"." Zelretch began to explain, grabbing their attention. "This ceremony is also like a competition of 7 Masters each summon one of the 7 Servants to fight to the death to and the last remaining Master and Servant will get their wish granted by the Holy Grail. This Ceremony is called "The Holy Grail War"."
After hearing that explanation both Hestia and Bell stare in awe at the Holy Grail, until Hestia realized something.
"Wait!" Hestia yelled grabbing everyone's attention. "If Bell is one of this 7 Master and the Holy Grail is here. Does that mean Bell have to fight 6 others that also have Servants and fight them to the death?!" she shouted in a dreaded tone while Bell began to look pale.
"That won't be happening Lady Hestia." Zelretch said to them causing them to turn to him. "You see that's why I'm here, to explain the situation of this Holy Grail."
"What do mean by that." Archer asked as he raised an eyebrows.
"As you said that Bell found it in the Dungeon." Zelretch pointed out. "And the fact he summon you so that you could saved him from the Minotaur that attacked him."
"WHAT!?" Hestia shrieked as she wheeled around toward Bell. "You got attacked by a Minotaur?! Are you okay?! Does it hurt?! It would be really traumatic for me if you died!" she asked worriedly, as she do a full body inspection of Bell to see if his injured anywhere.
"It's okay, Goddess." Bell said as he settle her down and place his hand on her shoulders and kneeled down to level to look her on an even level. "I'm the only member of the Hestia Familia. I would never leave you alone and helpless in the world. Plus Archer already saved me, so I'm okay." he said with a reassuring smile on his face and she felt reassured by his words.
"Glad to hear that!" she said with a smile on her face. "I've put my faith in you, so you better not let me down!" she said to Bell. "And Archer." Hestia said to him causing him to turn to her. "Thank you for saving Bell!" she said as she bowed to him as she was grateful to him for saving her only member of her Familia.
"No problem." Archer replied.
Zelretch then coughed to get their attention. "As I was saying, I told you all that I was wondering across other world right?" Zelretch asked and received nods from everyone. "Well on one of this journey I came across this Holy Grail which is the most powerful of all other's that I have come across and saw that unlike the other Grail's that starts the Grail Wars, this one was searching for someone to be it's master and wield all it omnipotent powers, and it have chosen Bell Cranel to be it's master." he explained.
Everyone was shock to learn that the Holy Grail that Bell found was more powerful than all the others and that it choose Bell to be its new master and wield its omnipotent powers.
"But only time will tell if he can use this powers or not." Zelretch said.
"So your telling me that Bell is the only Master in this world." Archer asked.
"Yes. And that Bell can make other people into a Master but then their won't be a Holy Grail War in this world since Bell is the one who wield's the power." Zelretch said as Hestia and Bell sighed in relief in knowing that Bell won't be in a Holy Grail War.
"Well that's a relief." Hestia said. "So is this all you want to tell us." she asked Zelretch.
"No. I'm also here to give somethings to Bell as well." the old man said as he took out five crystal; a red crystal, a black crystal with a blue flame inside it, a gray crystal with an orange flame inside it, a orange crystal with a flame inside it, and lastly a blue crystal. "You see I also want to give Bell Cranel different powers, one is a spiritual power known as Haki, along the powers of an individual beings from another world with the powers of a being called Soul Reapers, as well as the power to become an individual that can channel the powers of spirits and deceased souls called Shamans, a powers of someone who wields a power called the Dying Will Flames, and the last one is a power to use the scientific technique of altering matter called Alchemy from another world." he told them shocking them all.
"What do you mean by that." Bell asked.
"You see while I was traveling to other worlds I found many place with people wielding incredible powers and so I created this crystal to hold this powers so that I can find someone interesting to wield them." Zelretch said as he showed the crystal to them as they stared at it in awe. "And I have chosen you Bell Cranel, the master of the Omnipotent Wish Granter, the Holy Grail!" Zelretch said shocking them all. "So Bell will you accept it?" he asked the young man.
Bell felt honored to know that Zelretch think he is worthy to receive this powers but felt a little insecure about it. He thought to himself and think it would aid him to become strong enough to stand beside the heroes he admired and help his familia as well.
"I'll accept it!" Bell said excitedly and Zelretch nodded as the three crystal began to glow and floated into Bell's body, then Bell's body began to glow and then the light died down.
"You well be able to use this abilities at one point as you continue to grow." Zelretch explained to Bell and nodded in understanding.
"On an another note." Zelretch said as he turn to Hestia causing her to looked a bit worried. "Lady Hestia, may I have a bottle of your blood?" he asked her causing her and the others to be surprised and both Bell and Archer to go in front of her to protect her.
"Why do you need her blood for!?" Archer asked as he took his blades out to protect Hestia.
"I need it in order to create the item Bell needs to use the power I have given him." Zelretch answered him. "You see the power Bell and any possible new members of this familia can wield is called the Dying Will Flame and in order too used them a special ring is need in order to channel the flames into a weapon." he began to explain. "So I will create this rings so Bell and the others of the Hestia Familia can use this powers, but I wanted to use Hestia's blood in order to make sure that only those who have her Falna or those that she trust is able to used this rings so that no one who took it from the Hestia Familia may use it against you all. In other word they will be the sole treasure, heirloom, and the personal weapons of the Hestia Familia." he said surprising them as they understood now as to why he wanted her blood to create a powerful and sole treasure of their Familia.
"So I asked again Lady Hestia." Zelretch said as he bowed to her. "May I please have a bottle of your blood to create this items for your Familia?" he asked her anxiously waiting her answer.
Hestia looked at him as she couldn't find any lies in his words as no mortal being can lie in front of a god.
Hestia was surprised to hear this of him and asked him something about this. "If you do create this rings for us, would we have to pay with something in return?" she asked him as her familia doesn't have any money to pay for this, which caused Bell to be worried as well.
"No, you needn't to do that." Zelretch replied, surprising her and Bell. "You see all I want is for this young man that the Holy Grail have chosen as its master to grow even further." he said as he turn to the young man. "So all the weapons, training, and support I provide you all will be free of charge." he said with a smirk on his face.
"Well then if that the case, you may have my blood Wizard Marshall of another world, Kischur Zelretch Schweinorg!" Hestia said in a happy tone as she was extremely grateful too Zelretch.
Zelretch then took out a small glass cylinder bottle that had a needle on the lid like a syringe, he later move closer to her as she starch her left arm and Zelretch insert the needle in her arm drawing Hestia's blood into the cylinder, once he finished drawing blood he replace the needle part with a bottle lid and close the cylinders container. "Thank you Lady Hestia." He said as he bowed to her.
"No problem, and I'm the one who should be thanking you." Hestia said with a smile. "Your helping Bell and my Familia so much. I can't thank you enough." she told him as she has a tear in her eyes as she was extremely grateful to him.
Zelretch smiled at what she said but then realized something. "Oh, I will also need Bell's blood as well to create the rings." he said surprising them. "So Bell, can I also have a bottle of your blood as well?" he asked as he turn to him and brought out another cylinder bottle.
"Well if it's to help you make them… sure you can some of my blood." Bell replied as he starch his left hand while Zelretch draw his blood into the cylinder bottle like what he did with Hestia.
"Thank you." Zelretch said as he put the cylinders containing Hestia's and Bell's blood into his robe. "I will return when the rings are finished or if Bell needs training to use his new abilities when they are awaken." he said to them.
"We thank you for this Zelretch." Hestia said as she bowed to him again.
"It's okay Lady Hestia." he said to her. "I will always aid you, Bell, and this familia, you can always count on me to be their for your familia." he said causing Hestia to look at him with gratitude. "I will only aid yours and no other familia out their, even if their powerful or wealthy, I won't help them if their not an ally of the Hestia Familia that they share their secrets with." He exclaimed.
"THANK YOU!" Hestia said as she dived to Zelretch hugging him with tears running down her eyes. "I DON'T DESERVE ANY OF THIS!"
"Okay Lady Hestia I understand that your grateful…" Zelretch exclaimed as he try to get her off of him, "…but this is a bit too much." he said as he succeeded in getting her off. "Also I want to give you and Bell something else as well." he said as he created two small portals near Bell and Hestia and two small creatures came out of them.
The creature that came out of the portal near Bell landed on his shoulders. It look like some sort of a fluffy squirrel-like creature. This creature is Fou, also known as Cath Palug the former familiar of Merlin.
While the creature that came out of Hestia's portal landed on her shoulders. It was a green chameleon with a slender body, a coiled tail, and yellow reptilian eyes. This is Leon a shapeshifting chameleon.
"This are my other gifts to you two, hope you two like them." Zelretch said with both Bell and Hestia confused onto why would he give them this small animals.
"Mmm, we're grateful for all the things you done for us." Hestia said hesitantly. "But why are you giving us this animals?" she asked as she was unsure why he gave them this animals.
"This animals have special abilities." Zelretch replied. "Bell, the squirrel-like creature you have is called Fou, it a familiar a creature with magic that can be connect with a mage through a contract and Fou used to be the familiar of a man named Merlin, who was known in my world as the worlds greatest king makers and one of the most famous mage of my world, and was also called "The Great Mage of the Island of Britain"." he explained and both Hestia and Bell where in awe to learn that the little squirrel-like creature possessed magic power and that it was a familiar of such a famous person that was from another world. "I gave him to you so that he could be your familiar Bell and that you could send him to sneak in to get information due to Fou being able to let you see and hear things that Fou does." he explain to them.
"Wow, that incredible." Bell said as he stare at Fou.
"Fou." Fou said as he looked at Bell then rubbed his face at Bell's face to show affection to him.
"So Bell will take Fou as your familiar? I'm sure he would love to be your familiar." Zelretch asked and Fou shouted in agreement with him.
"Well are okay with me as your master Fou?" Bell asked Fou and it responded by nodding to him. "Well then I'm happy to have you as my familiar Fou. Let's get along with each other." he said as he patted Fou head with a finger and Fou pushed its head against his hand as it return his affection.
As everyone saw this they began to chuckle at the sight of Bell and his new familiar interaction.
"And as for you Hestia." Zelretch said, getting everyone's attention. "That chameleon their is a special type." he said as everyone turn to the chameleon on Hestia's shoulders. "It is known as a shape-changing chameleon, it can transform into anything at will." Zelretch said as the chameleon go to Hestia's hand then it glowed in a set of colors and transform into a long staff causing everyone to be surprised by this.
"Wow…" Hestia said as she stared at Leon with wonder and amazement. "That incredible but why are giving him to us?" she asked.
"You see it's also to help Bell in using his Dying Will Flames in combat." Zelretch answered causing everyone to turn to him.
"What do you mean by that Mr. Zelretch?" Bell asked.
"All I can say is that when the time comes Leon will aid you when your needed Bell." Zelretch said to him while everyone was wondering what he meant. "With all of that said and done I think it's time that you should give the new recruits of your Familia your Falna, Lady Hestia." he said and remained them that Archer still hasn't received her blessing yet.
Hestia, upon realizing this, quickly took a panic expression on her face. "Ahhh, I was so caught by that explanation that I completely forgot!" she yelled out while clutching her head.
She then approached Archer, who leaning against a wall. "But are you sure you want to join my Familia Archer?" she asked the Servant nervously.
"Yes I would like to join your Familia." he replied while nodding his head, "My Master is also apart of it so it natural for a Servant like me to join, and besides…" he said as he looked towards Hestia. "…I can tell that your a goddess that care deeply for her members and always do for them in any way possible. You are the type of god that I want to work under than those who would exploit their Familia members for their own gain and amusement." he said with a sincere smile on his face.
Hestia looked happy at his word, "Hurray!" she said while jump up in happiness. Then she grabbed his arm and leading him to the single bed in the room. "Now, take off your shirt and lie down on the bed and I'll bestow my blessing upon you."
Archer looked rather bemused as he stripped off his mantle and undershirt and laid down on the bed with his legs poking off the edge.
"Hoh hoh… you've taken good care of your body didn't you, Mister Archer? As expected from a hero of the distant past." Hestia said as she got onto his back with a silver knife in her hand.
"I suppose." Archer said with a shrug, rocking Hestia slightly.
"Hee hee, you've got a lot of catching up to do Bell." Hestia joked as Bell let out a small chuckle. "All right, now hold still. This might tickle a bit." she said as she proceeded to prick her finger with the knife and then traced her blood onto Archer's back. Once that was done, Hestia placed a piece of parchment onto Archer's back where she traced her finger and pulled it back, leaving several words and numbers on it.
Hestia turned to the parchment toward herself and was surprised by what she see her new child's statues.
"Wow, you have an incredible magic and skills Archer." Hestia began as she hopped off Archer's back. "But I guessed this why you two came here to explain to us." she said as she handed the parchment to Archer, who took it and skimmed through it.

"That's amazing, Archer!" Bell said as he looked over Hestia's shoulder at the sheet while Archer was getting redressed. "So this "Projection" is how you created those swords earlier?"
"Yeah." Archer replied with a nodded as he turn to him as he finished getting redressed. "That the only ability that I have that I'm quite good at."
Bell then turn to the Holy Grail, which was laying on the table and thought about something and pick it up from the table and turn to the Zelretch and Archer.
"Amm…" Bell said grabbing everyones attention. "Sir Zelretch and Archer, do you think I can summon another Servant with the grail?" he asked.
"Not satisfied with me, Master?" Archer asked with a smirk.
"No no, nothing like that." Bell said quickly. "I was just thinking that if I could summon more Servants, we could use them to fill the ranks of the Familia and explore the Dungeon better. And by doing so, we'll be able to make more money to help out our goddess."
"Bell…" Hestia said, looking at him for a moment before tears filled her eyes. "I'm sorry we're poor."
"Nonononono! It's not your fault! You're doing your best at your job too!" Bell tried to reassure her.
"Well…" Zelretch began, ignoring the two's antics. "…since the Holy Grail choose Bell to it's master, it's possible for you to summoning another Servants." he said causing Bell to looked at him brightly. "However I should warn you that it's not free. While the costs for summoning a Servant is burdened by the grail, the cost for keeping the Servant bound to the physical world is on the Summoner." Zelretch then turn to Archer and his back. "Although that isn't the case now, isn't it Archer?" he asked.
Archer replied with a nodded. "Yeah, I don't know how exactly the Falna interacts with that. I feel as though I'm getting the upkeep from from two sources." he explained. "Both from you and Lady Hestia."
"How exactly is this upkeep paid for?" Hestia asked, as she wiped the tears form her eyes.
"Well, it is paid with the Master's magic power." Zelretch said. "Oh, and I forgot to mention that thanks to the grail Bell also got a magic spell and a few new skills thanks to it and the abilities I gave him."
Hestia and Bell looked at him with blank stares before Hestia moved Archer out of the bed and Bell took off his shirt before scrambling onto it. Hestia got on top of Bell's back and pricked her finger with her knife again before repeating the same process on Bell's back like she did for Archer.
"…It's there…" Hestia said before placing a parchment onto Bell's back and pulling it off.

Bell let out a cry of joy as he read through his updated status sheet. "Wow, I got magic and a skill too." he cheered as he hugged his status sheet in his chest.
"His numbers are better than mine…" Archer noted blandly.
"That's just how it works." Hestia said, looking off to the side not meeting his eyes. "Having zero doesn't mean your status is zero. Everyone starts at zero whether you're just a baby or a grown adult that can lift a cart over heads with one hand. Bell's stats are what they were due to him being two weeks your senior." she explained as she took the status sheet from Bell.
"I see…so that's how that works…" Archer muttered. "In any case, it seems like your magic parameter will grow on its own so long as I'm around and you're providing my upkeep."
"I see." Hestia said with a nod. "So Bell's magic parameter will continually grow even if he doesn't do anything…" she summarized as she looked through it again. "But why are their question marks in his skills?"
"Oh, those are few of the abilities that I bestow upon him in the form of skills." Zelretch answered, causing everyone to turn to him. "Their like that because Bell haven't unlocked or awakened them so they are like that until you can use them." he explained.
"So this questioned marked are some of the new abilities Bell got from you and that he not able to tap into yet?" Hestia asked and Zelretch nodded in confirmation. "So how will Bell unlocked this abilities?" she asked, causing her and Bell to turn to him.
Hestia then looked at the sheet again, '…And this skill Liaris Freese (Aspiring Path), fast growth…' she thought as she looked to Bell then Archer. '…so your hoping to catch up to your hero, huh Bell…' she calmly smiled at him until her face change to a jealous pout. 'This so unfair why is it that Shirou and the grail be the one who change him!?' she thought on with jealousy and turn back to the Wizard Marshall.
"When the time is right they will be unlocked and allow Bell to fight on a whole new level." the old man said.
"So? Do you think I can summon another Servant?" Bell asked again as he stood up and walked up to Archer and Zelretch.
"Don't overdo it Bell." Hestia said quickly. "Hephaistos told me what happens when you overuse magic. You get affected by something called "Mind Down" and collapse. In worse cases, it could kill you."
"Oh…I see…" Bell deflated a bit at that before looking back at both Archer and the Wizard Marshall. "It's probably dangerous, isn't it?"
"It is." Archer nodded. "However… as I said, since I received the Falna, I feel like I am also getting magic power from both you and Lady Hestia. Depending on things such as the type of Servant you summon…as in the hero you summon plus the class they are summoned into, I believe you may be able to summon another one provided Lady Hestia gives them her blessing as well. That is, if they accept it. Some heroes are rather arrogant and would refuse it after all." he explained than he turn to the Bell's status sheet. "But…this "Master of the Holy Grail" skill might be help him."
"Do you think so?" Hestia asked then she turn to the sheet as well. "Well it does say that it decreases the upkeep due to Bell receiving more magic from the grail. But what does summon additional Servants from the extra classes means."
"I will explained that." Zelretch said making everyone turn to him. "You see with this skill Bell is able to summon an additional Servants when he tries to summon one, so he would get two Servants instead of one." he explained surprising everyone. "And this Servants are from the extra classes containers, their is Ruler a virtuous warriors summoned by the Holy Grail itself, tasked with governing the rituals of the Grail Wars, Avenger are vindictive warriors that bear great hatred in the past, the embodiment of hatred itself, Moon Cancer are the title bestowed to those who threaten my world which is some times known as "the world of the Moon", Alter Ego an alternate aspects and personalities split from their originals, so instead of being proper Heroic Spirits, they're personifications of emotions, wishes and various aspects that belong to others, Foreigners are those who wield power drawn from outside human boundaries, they are entities from different dimensions that are foreign to human comprehension, and lastly Pretender or Faker are those who have given false representation, deceiving and misleading others to do great deeds, but they not a fake or counterfeit, but someone who deceives even the soul until more power and greater achievements than the real thing remain."
After hearing that explanation everyone stare at him in shocked while Bell was at awe to find out that he could summon two heroes for just summoning one. "That amazing but I don't feel anything different right now." Bell said.
"The skill will only activate when you summon a Servant. As of right now it still not activate so of course you don't feel any different." the Wizard Marshall explained.
"Okay, so what class would you two say then?" Bell asked happily while Hestia sighed and shook her head.
"Caster would be our recommendation." Archer said while Zelretch nodded in agreement. "Being magic users themselves, they should hold a lot of magic power inside of them so that there isn't as much upkeep required for existing and using their abilities. They also skills for creating and holding territory so they could be useful in tidying up this church a bit." he explained.
"Is it okay if I try, Goddess?" Bell asked, with his shining puppy dog eyes toward Hestia who looked away as if his gaze was too bright for her.
"Grrr…" Hestia groaned as she glanced at Archer. "Is there any way to reduce upkeep even more?" she asked.
"If I do this…" Archer said before turn into magic particles and disappear from view surprising both of them.
"Archer?" Bell called out as he waved his hand at the spot where Archer had been standing only to touch nothing but air. "Where are you?"
"Over here." Archers voice came from behind them.
Both Bell and Hestia turned around to see that Archer had made himself at home on the couch, his long arms resting on the top of the couch with one leg over the other.
"Dematerialization." Archer said. "Most Servants can do this. It temporarily shifts our bodies from the physical plane where we can't interact with anything but it helps reduce the cost. If it's too much for Bell to handle, I'll spend some time like that until he can handle it."
"Mumumumumu…" Hestia seemed both unwilling to let Bell take on such a risk while at the same time not wanting to deny her first Familia member something that would only help their Familia grow. "Fine! But if he falls unconscious you are dematerializing right away, got it!?"
"Thank you Goddess!" Bell said as he picked up the grail again and looked around. "Umm… so how do I…?"
Archer head over to Bell and took the Holy Grail from him. "Follow me." he said as he and Zelretch head up the stairs with Bell and Hestia following them.
In the Abandoned Church's altar:
As all of them reached the upstairs to the altar of the church, their Zelretch reached into his coat and pulled out a tube of mercury and opened it and spill it on the floor and it began move around to form a strange magic circle and place jewels at corner ends of the church.
"Now before you began the summoning, I need to place a Bounded Field in this area with Presence Concealment so that no one can see or feel the follow of magic. I don't want the wrong people to learn this and summon a Servant." Zelretch said as everyone nodded in agreement. "Also we need to explain something else first to you Bell." he said catching Bell and Hestia's attention. "The first thing you need to know is about the Command Spells."
"Command Spells?" Bell asked in confusion.
"Look at the back of your left hand Bell." the old man said.
Bell then took of his gloves to find that red markings had etched themselves onto the back of his left hand in the form of a flame made up of three lines. "What is this?' he asked as is surprised to the mark appear out of nowhere.
"That is the proof that you are a Master, your Command Spells." Zelretch said. "As you can see Bell, you have three of them."
"You see Bell…" Archer began, grabbing everyone's attention. "Those three lines are spells that you could use to give a Servant an absolute order that they couldn't be disobeyed, even if the Master use one to force a Servants to take their own life they have no choice but to obey the order. They are very valuable as it was meant that the Servant would think twice before betraying their Master."
"I would never do such a thing like that!" Bell shouted in horror while Archer shrugged.
"Consider it an insurance of sorts to make sure the Servant is kept in line." Archer said. "And it's not like that's the only way you can use it. It can be used as a power up to let a Servant cast their big attack immediately or for them to warp to your side if you are in danger. If it's an order that both you and the Servant agree upon like 'take down that monster' then the Servant will get a power boost as they fight the monster you direct them too. The more specific the command, the more powerful the spell will be."
"I see." Bell said as he sighed in relief. "That's good then." he looked a bit happier that it wasn't just a tool to order someone to their own death.
"It's done." Zelretch said as he finished the Bounded Field at the church along with completing the magic circle and placed the grail on the pedestal at the edge of the altar. He then turn to Bell, "Now began your chant and say it clearly beside the circle and a Servant should appear."
Bell nodded at the Wizard Marshall's instructions as he went up to the circle and held out his left hand with the Command Spells on them and began his chant.
"Elements of Silver and Iron."
"Foundation of stone, and the archduke of pacts."
"A wall for descending winds. Close the gates on the four sides."
"Come forth from the crown, and follow the forked road leading to the kingdom."
The magic circle began to glowed and a wave of magic began to flow to the circle, while Hestia watched the summoning in awe with both Archer and Zelretch right beside her. As each the verse of the chant was said the magic circle glowed brighter as lightning arced within it.
The circle shine even brighter and wind flows out of it as if the magic circle was released them and his Command Spells on his left hand began to glowed, causing Hestia to shield herself behind Archer, who watched the summoning intently alongside Zelretch.
"Fill, fill, fill, fill, fill. Repeat five times, but when each is filled, destroy it."
"Set."
"Heed my words! My will creates your body, and your sword my destiny."
"If you heeds the Grail's call, then follow the path to the unknown and answer me."
The Holy Grail began to shine in a golden light as if was reacting to the magic circle as it releases a large amount of magic.
The circle glowed even brighter in a blue light to Bell chant, who stood undaunted and focus on finishing the spell.
"I hearby swear."
"That I shall be all the good in the world, and that I shall defeat all evil in the world."
"Seventh heaven, clad in the great words of power."
"Come forth from the Circle of Bindings. Guardian of the Scales!"
As Bell reach the final verse a pillar of blue light shot up from the magic circle and an explosion of light and dust prompting everyone to cover their eyes.
"Did…did it work?" Hestia asked as she peered around Archer's back while Archer himself could only gape at the the cloud of dust in front of Bell while Zelretch could only smile at it.
Bell meanwhile had his arms in front of his eyes to shield his eyes and himself from the dust. As the dust began to dissipate, he lowered his arms and saw two people in front of him.
One was a man with golden hair and blood red eyes was staring at him with a frown on his face. He was wearing a short veil on the back his head, a short blue vest that didn't do anything to cover his bare chest and long red pants that opened up to reveal part of his thighs and legs. In one hand was a stone tablet and in the other was a large golden axe.
The other one is a beautiful girl with long golden blonde hair that was pulled back into a large braid and amethysts colored eyes. She was wearing a dark blue clothes and armor with a sword on her hip and gauntlet on both of her hands. She was holding a lance covered in a white cloth.
"Servant…Caster." The man declared. "Gilgamesh of Uruk has come due to your summoning, mongrel."
"Servant Ruler." The woman said. "I am Jeanne d'Arc. I have come upon answering your call… my Master." she said as she bow to Bell.
