Chapter 5

A/N Hello everyone

Here is the fifth chapter. I'm 1 day early because I cannot post this Saturday but next week it's back to Saturday. Since the objective of last time was not completed I have the same one today 1 review and I will post another chapter before Sunday (if your review is not related to the chapter/story then it is not accounted for). A new objective : 15 reviews before the time travel chapter (in 2 or 3 chapters I'm not sure yet) and I will post every day or every two day a chapter to conclude this first book

To remember I am French not american nor English if I make mistakes please talk to me about it in the reviews (with respect)

And as much as I would like I do not own avatar otherwise this story would be official :)

Attention some scenes in the beginning will be hard

"Please Sokka don't you don't have to do it"

Aang was hearing Katara yell and cry of pain as she was tortured again by her brother "Please Aang help me" she begged him but he couldn't do anything she was tortured and then Sokka cut her head off and she rolled to Aang

But it wasn't finished she was alive again but this time he was holding the knife and he tried as hard as he could to get away from her but nothing worked he tortured her again and again he heard her cry and beg him ask him why he would do that and came THE moment when he had to kill her he tried again to stop him from doing that and with one last strike he cut her head off

"NOOOOOO!" Aang awoke himself in cry and fear

"What ? what is it sweetie ?" a soothing voice asked

"Katara ?" he asked

"Yes ?"

"You… You… You can't be here no I have to get away from you" he was terrified and he cried all he could

"Sweetie, talk to me, what is it ?" She replied

"I'm dangerous I can't be near you I will hurt you"

"Sweetie you're not dangerous"

"I killed you Katara" he said sobbing "I can't be here no it's too dangerous for you" he jumped out of the bed and run outside not even realizing where he was Katara run after him she knew that he shouldn't be by himself now he was too broken he needed her and to be true she needed him too

She was a little selfish now but she needed his warmth she bloodbent she knew that it was not much and for a good cause but it still hurt her she didn't want this power but she had it and now she had to use it she was terrified of it and she needed him to accompany her even if she knew that he needed her the most. After running for ten minutes she found him trying to meditate but not doing a very good job at it.

"Aang talk to me please I'm here for you you know that you can tell me anything" she said

"I can't, it's too painful" he replied "even if I try to not think about it, it's the only thing i'm capable of thinking about now and I don't want to scare you. I need to be away from you or I will hurt you"

"Aang you're not gonna hurt me and even if you tried you know that I can defend myself you know that if you tried I could stop you plus there is Toph and Sokka and Suki to help me"

"Don't mention their names" Aang said angrily

"What is it Aang? What did they do to you ?" She replied curious and worried

"It's not about me Katara, it's about you what they did to you" He replied looking shamefully at the ground and told "and what I couldn't do"

"Aang you know that I'm here for you so tell me what did they do to me ?"

He took a deep breath before saying "They tortured you again and again and again. Every one of them had a different technique: Toph with earth, Zuko with fire, Suki with swords and Sokka with everything he could find; he was the most cruel." He was now completely sobbing as he added "I heard you scream and cry in pain calling for me begging me to help you but I couldn't do anything. In the end you always end up dying your head on the floor at my feets while I'm stuck and I can't do anything to help you. And after that I had to relieve the death of my people just to realize that they did it and they came back after to torture you again before me. Now I know it's my turn and I don't want to do it I can't do it that's why I have to get away from you so that I don't hurt you"

Aang and Katara didn't knew but Toph Suki and Sokka were here listening on a secluded place where they could here without being seen and they were all three shocked and had nothing to say when Katara started talking

"Aang it was not real. This people are our friends they helped us end the war they helped us with everything they were even happy when they discovered that we were going to be married a spirit captured you and made you see that I am not in any kind of danger now let's talk about it in the morning now you need some rest maybe with me you will not have this nightmare"

"But what if…"

"There is no what ifs Aang, I love you and you love me as you said before your proposal, I'm here for you now you need to rest my love go to sleep and let's talk about all this in the morning"

"Okay" was all that Aang could say before heading to Katara's position and helping himself with her shoulder to get back to the room

"Hello Shiva" a low and powerful voice began to talk

"Do you know how I am ? I am the great spirit of Time I am one of the most powerful spirits in the entire spirit world" Shiva responded he wanted to sound powerful but he was actually terrified Sōjōbō went and took him like he was just a simple human he knew that his master was certainly way more powerful than any spirit the young spirit had ever met.

"I am pretty aware of who you are. The question is do you know how I am ?" he approached Shiva so that the young spirit could see him he had a red skin with a long black beard, bulging eyes and a hat with the inscription "King"

Shiva was now terrified he knew who the "king" was and he knew that if he was really the one that he thought he was, he knew that he was probably dead even more if the "King" realized that the young Time spirit knew their plan for the avatar

"You are Yan Wang the king of the Diyu"

"Good I see that you are aware of how I am and the position you are in" Yan Wang responded "And to be precise I am king of the Diyu but I am also his supreme Judge and my judgment are for the humans as well as for the spirits. So tell me what should I do with someone like you who knows a part of my plan ?"

Shiva was surprised at that he thought he knew all of Yan Wang's plan

"You don't think that I would have told my servitor my whole plan while you were there. It wouldn't have been very smart, would it ?"

"What do you want with me ?!" Shiva yelled

"Oh, I see that you have some temperament, I don't like that next time you will pay for it" Yan Wang said calmly but obviously not pleased

"So what I want from you is simple when and if I need it I want you to take the avatar to see his successor…"

"WHAT!?" Shiva responded

"I said that you had to be QUIET" Yan Wang yelled and made the whole place there where in reverberate

Shiva was terrified and let Yan Wang "As I was saying when and if I need it I want you to take the avatar to see his successor but not only that I want you to transport him to the tomb of his wife. I need him broken this is a good way to broke him so if I tell you I want you to do it"

"But great master" replied Shiva showing the as much respect as he could "If I do that I will be punished severely it is against the will of Time itself and against the will of Yu-Huang himself"

"I do not care about Time if you do not help me do it then I will do it by myself and I will break the Time if I need to with you it would be way more clean. And for our beloved "leader" Yu-Huang he is not interested enough in our affairs to see anything. So will you help me ? Or do I have to break Time itself to obtain what I want ?"

"It will not be necessary oh great master I will help you" Shiva replied

Zuko was in his office writing letters to some officials for a meeting at the end of the month when he heard a shriek coming from a messenger hawk. He watched outside, a little dazzled by the morning's sun. The hawk traveled all night and arrived at the Fire Nation Capital a few hours after sunrise. The young Fire Lord took the letter that the hawk brought him and gave some seeds to the hawk

Hello Zuko

Aang is not well. We don't know what he has but I think you can help us go through his problem. He needs you more than ever. He was attacked by a spirit. I don't know what it did to him but he is constantly panicking. Please come as fast as you can to the Southern Air Temple.

PS : Bring Ty Lee maybe she can help with her reading of auras

When he finished the letter Zuko heard knocking at the door "Come in" he said

The door opened to reveal Zuko's girlfriend "Hello darling" Ty Lee said

"Hi Ty Lee" Zuko replied more cold than he usually is

"What's wrong Zuko ?" Ty Lee asked she knew him better than anybody, it's been 3 years that she loved him and 2 years that he loved her back in those 2 years she learned to know him, it took some time but eventually she became capable of understanding him faster and better than everyone else

Zuko on his side started to see that Ty Lee was more than a friend to him 3 years from now. It was a few months after his problem in the capital with Azula he became aware that he had feelings for her when he went to the South Pole for a meeting with Katara and Sokka's dad. He even talked to the latter about his feelings for her.

So when she asked him if something was wrong Zuko knew that she was worried he knew that at this moment his was colder than usual but he didn't know what the problem with Aang was he didn't want to assume so he just passed Katara's letter to his girlfriend who started to read and was visibly shocked by the news that Aang was attacked. She didn't bother to ask if he knew anything else. She didn't even took the time to let him think she knew they had to go "We need to leave now, who knows when they sent this letter plus I know that Aang is your bestfriend you need to go see if everything's okay now"

Zuko was of course agreeing with her idea but he just said "You're right. But I have something to do now go to your room and pack your things or tell a servant to do it I'll be right behind you when I have finished with what I have to do" They didn't shared room often because it was seen as an offense for the officials to share a room before the marriage and Zuko wanted to do everything by the book to not upset anybody. He gave her a small kiss on the lips she smiled and told him "Fine I'll meet you at my room but be quick we don't have much time"

Zuko had to write a letter to Ty Lee's favorite restaurant he wanted to invite her there in a few days and ask her if she wanted to marry him they loved each other and Zuko wanted to make it official as soon as possible, but he knew that now his friends needed him the most so he decided to ask Ty Lee later.

Yes Ty Lee and Zuko are a couple I think it can be pretty fun and yes they're together and they started dating not late after North and South (the comics) since Mai "broke" zuko's heart in Smoke and Shadow

Sorry if the end of Aang's part feels less good I'm writing this at 00h38 and I have to go to sleep

How is Katara going to explain to Aang what happened ? How is Aang going to take it ?

What is the plan of Yan Wan ? Who is Yu-Huang ? What is the Diyu ? Is Shiva going to obey Yan Wan or not ?
