A/N: this is the same chapter 3 I've released and deleted a few hours ago. There was a miscommunication and my brother posted the chapter instead of just to save the draft like I told him to.
I was outside when I open qq through my phone, only then I realized my brother actually posted the chapter, since it only got posted for half an hour, I decided to just delete it.
So yeah, sorry to get your hope up for those who've read it already.
But enjoy it for those who havent read it already!
CHAPTER 3
I had been testing my Kamui in excess for the past hour, going in and out of my personal dimension to appear somewhere else. As for how I could do it repeatedly without showing any signs of strain, whether in my chakra or from my eyes, I wasn't sure, but I suspected it was the combination of Hashirama's cells and Soul Talent. One lessened the strain and boosted my chakra, while the other gave me much more fuel to play with based on the description from my phone, well it was basically almost the same thing except that Soul Talent would also help me to learn other kind of supernatural energy.
Body Tune-Up might also help with integrating Hashirama's cells to my body properly.
Obito supposedly could teleport using his Kamui, and after a thorough testing in the limited space this cliff afforded me, I figured out a few things.
I wouldn't call moving with Kamui in the real world to appear from one place to another as true teleportation. It was more like, uh, pseudo-teleportation.
As far as my knowledge went, teleportation was the act of bending space to instantly appear in a faraway place so you didn't need to cross the intervening distance you would have normally needed to pass through.
But with my Kamui, I actually had to go to the Kamui dimension first, which I could do in half a second if I was fast. While inside, I needed to imagine where I wanted to appear in the real world, take a step, go out of the Kamui dimension, and then instantly arrive at the location of my choosing, which didn't always work quite as intended. I didn't always appear where I imagined I would be.
And that's just the short distance I had to work with; it's probably safe to assume if I tested this with a faraway location, I would be working with more than a little margin of error.
But I did find out that if I had been in some specific location beforehand, I could easily teleport there again with precision. I just needed a thought while in my dimension, a step, go out, and voila, I was there.
So I guess you could say I could teleport, kinda. But it only worked when I was in the Kamui dimension; I could not instantly just teleport from the real world to another place instantly like how Minato did with his Flying Raijin.
Both our style of teleportation had its own weaknesses and benefits.
Minato needed to mark a place first before he could teleport to that location. But once marked, his teleportation was practically instant. That was how he could solo one thousand Iwa ninja by himself. His enemies literally couldn't follow his movement with their eyes, and he could always afford to attack through blind spots because he already marked the entire battlefield before the battle even started.
While me? I essentially automatically marked any place I passed through myself, and I could even go to any places I'd not yet marked just with a margin of error, which now, for safety reasons, I decided that I would only do it for places in my line of sight. But my teleportation took time; the fastest I could shorten it was one second.
And in fight scenario, that took too long, especially since I needed to wait for the half-second for my sight to come back first. So I couldn't use it as an instant surprise attack like Minato did; my enemy would have been alerted to my position in that time. I couldn't surprise people if they knew where I appeared after a teleport after all.
That was when I realized Obito already had a sort of workaround. He already knew his style of teleportation limitation. That was why he learned the Earth Release: Hidden Mole, even though he specialized in Fire. It was also helped by the fact that Hashirama cells made it easier to learn Earth-based techniques.
I remembered one scene where he toyed with a team of Konoha Ninjas, combining his Kamui and the Hidden Mole Technique. He buried himself into the earth, entered his dimension, took a step while inside, appeared in the real world inside the earth in another place so he could have time to reorient himself, and then bam, burst from the ground, whack a person, and do it all over again. The little shit literally named it Ninja Art: Whack-A-Mole Technique.
But the fact that he was appearing in trees too? Well, don't ask me; I had no idea, and Obito's memory didn't have anything resembling what he did in the anime. I'm just going to decide that was for comedic purposes, yep.
Again, the technique as a whole was kind of goofy, but it was effective. It seemed like he teleported instantly, but in reality, he just hid the one second he needed to appear and reappear in another place.
But I was going on a tangent at this point. I got the data I needed to use my Kamui to travel long distances in one go.
Sellen gripped my hand in hers beside me, "Are you ready?"
I nodded, "As ready as I can be," then shrugged while looking at her.
"Are you sure you don't want to stay in my dimension?"
"No, I will not wait like a princess while my man endangers himself," her words warmed my heart, and I smiled at her.
"And are you sure you don't want to be carried in my arms?" I asked hopefully, raising my eyebrows suggestively, making sure to add a begging note to my voice.
"No! Dearest, it's embarrassing," she shook her head vehemently, while she looked away, arms crossed.
"Didn't expect grandma can even be embarrassed being carried around," I said teasingly.
"..." silence was my answer.
I tried another route, "It will be easier for me; I'll hold you tightly, promise," I said, trying to convince her, "besides, no one is gonna see us anyway."
She sighed after a few seconds of silence thinking it through, her face resigned, "Fine."
I beamed at her, showing my biggest smile, I leaned down and placed one of my hands behind her knees, gripping it tight and pushing, the other below her armpit so I could hold her *ahem* tightly on her chest.
"Aaron.." She sighed, eyes closed, one hand covering her eyes.
I squeezed the one holding her chest, the pliable flesh giving ground to my wandering hands.
"Stop making me aroused," she said, with the beginning of a labored breath.
"Wait, really? Just from your breast?" I asked surprised.
"I don't know, dearest. I swear I'm usually not like this," She huffed, "this binding of yours is making my head spin just being in your proximity," she took a deep breath, then looked me in the eyes, "so can you please stop playing with my chest already?"
Oh! I didn't even realize I was still squeezing her wonderful soft tits through her clothing.
"Hehehe," I let out, completely unrepentant. It was her tits' fault for being so squishy.
"Thank you, dearest. I'll let you do anything with my body once we have a safe place to actually rest," she promised, and I knew she meant it too. Damn.
"I love you," I blurted out.
Sellen snorted, "It's not even a day yet since we've known each other; you don't have to lie to me to alleviate any guilt you feel toward binding my soul and body to yourself,"
Well, I did feel a tiny weeny little bit of guilt. But it was not the reason I said it in the first place.
"Yeah no, I won't make myself feel guilty when I have an amazing woman for myself. Besides, the binding made sure you return my feelings genuinely. So no matter if you hide it, I know you're happy when I said 'I love you,'" I watched her expression carefully, and she did show a reaction; she couldn't look me in the eyes.
I smiled in victory. "I said it because I'm convinced, sooner or later, I'm gonna fall in love with you, Sellen."
"Fine, you insufferable man," she grumbled, then settled herself comfortably in my arms. "Let's go already."
I gave her a final kiss on her forehead before I walked toward the cliff's edge. I took a deep breath.
"Remember, whatever you do, don't go toward the castle wall. We can't afford being spotted climbing those walls while being simultaneously shot at. We'll be overwhelmed sooner rather than later, and I can't phase through attacks like you do, dearest," Sellen said.
I nodded. We had tested it beforehand, and it was just hard making others intangible with me. When I tried it with Sellen, it was either I touched her normally or sent her to the Kamui Dimension. It was a weird limitation, but I couldn't do anything about it.
"Right."
"And stay close to the cliff wall, toward the south, until we reach a beach. When we reach it, I can navigate us to my old study close by. I need to grab my belongings from there," she added.
"Ok, let's do this," I walked forward while I kept a steady fixed rate of chakra in my feet, making it stick to the rocky ground. I also made sure to do the same with my hands holding Sellen.
I walked forward toward the cliff's edge, one foot in the air, then my body was falling, before I could completely fall, my foot stuck to the cliff wall.
I sighed in relief.
The feeling of suddenly standing 90 degrees different sideways was a bit disorienting.
I was forced to stop for a moment to get my bearing.
Mangekyō Sharingan.
My vision sharpened once again as was typical when activating my eye power. Everything came to a slow as I focused toward the seas below, preparing to change a different steady stream of chakra in my feet before-
Two Kamuis coinciding with each other, with a step in my personal dimension before the second Kamui happened.
And then I was standing on the water, the waves were a bit unruly to say the least, so I was shaken left and right but no matter what I kept standing atop the water just fine.
"Hehe," and then this girl was laughing at me. Sellen giggled while she covered her mouth with one hand.
"What?" I asked a bit affronted.
"Your face was just so... serious," she answered between giggles, "then it changed instantly to pure relief as soon as we arrived in the water safely."
"Well, forgive me if I felt horrified traveling more than 30 meters distance vertically through air and with no solid ground in sight," I answered a bit annoyed.
Sellen just smiled fondly at me.
"Besides, aren't you scared if I failed the jump in dimension?"
She shook her head. "No, I trust you completely, dearest," light blue eyes boring into mine.
Fuck, I just said it, but she's really gonna make me fall in love.
I shook my head from useless thoughts and gazed into the horizon toward the south.
"Whatever, love, I should get moving," I said.
"You should," she agreed easily.
I peeked into the distance as far as my eyes could see, noting the wall to my left as my point of reference. But I couldn't see too far; there was too much fog.
I reoriented myself before I teleported forward, one look into the distance once again, then teleported again..
One last teleport, and I finally saw the beach she was talking about. The light was beginning to dim, meaning night probably gonna come soon. But hell, the sky was shrouded by too many clouds that I wasn't sure where the sun position was. At first, I thought it was the yellow glow we saw while we're atop that cliff, but that was another completely different thing; that was a Tree.
Sellen confirmed it was the Erdtree she was talking about. Apparently, it was a giant big-ass tree that you could almost see anywhere in the Lands Between, acting almost like a second sun, which kept the night here bright enough you didn't usually need any additional artificial lighting unless the Erdtree was directly blocked by the landscape or something.
Which proved my point that it was hard locating the sun when there was a similar source of light nearby.
I shook my head. 'Fucking fantasy lands.'
I admit I was half-expecting this place to be gloomy and dark as I had a passing familiarity with the developer of this game and how they usually design their world. But seeing a giant fuck-off persistent light in the distance? That was enlightening, literally.
I focused my eyes forward again as we neared the beach, only walking this time because I saw something interesting on the beach.
Three people camping.
It looked like they were wearing hide armor on their torso, some kind of scale on their shoulder piece down to their elbow, atop it covered by more animal hide.
Full helmets shaped like ovals complete with chain gorgets down to their chests. Skirt tassets with the same material as their shoulder pieces, completed by leather gauntlets and boots.
All three of them dressed the same, the difference only in how wide or high their bodies compared to each other. Seemed like an outfit for a cold climate more than a plain.
I nudged Sellen with my hand and gestured with my chin toward the camping trio.
She looked toward it and gave me a flat stare.
"My dearest, need I remind your magnificent self that my eyes are not as good as yours?"
"Oh! Right, hahaha," I laughed embarrassedly, feeling a need to plonk myself on the head but could not because Sellen was still in my arms.
After a moments of apologizing, I gave her the description of the men I saw from the distance. It was apparently quite far to see their form clearly from this distance with normal eyes.
Sellen nodded her head after I finished explaining. "That sounds like a group of Kaiden Sellswords," she noted. "Well, they introduced themselves as that, but the ones in this area can't be called much of a sellsword group," she made a so-so gesture with her hand.
"They deal in slaves around here and will usually attack on sight if they think they can win and get away with it. So I guess just keep doing what you're doing. They won't be trying anything if they see us coming from the sea effortlessly walking on top of it. Besides, I'm also wearing the Academy garb," Sellen finished her explanation and shrugged, making herself comfortable on my chest, head tucked in my arm, and eyes closed, enjoying the sea breeze.
I smiled fondly down at her, resisting the urge to kiss her.
"So, there is another group of these Kaiden elsewhere?" I asked, wanting to talk while I walked toward the beach slowly, closing in toward the trio, eager for something, either for a fight or more human interactions.
"Mm-hm, they hail from the mountains to the north originally. There were rumors about them having genial relationships with the giants over there before Marika's troops ran them all down to the ground, and now only a few giants are left alive," she said softly.
"Oh, and I guess there aren't many of the Kaidens there anymore; their lands fell to the seas soon after the Shattering," she added casually.
It took a few seconds for me to process that.
"Wait what? Their land just... fell to the sea? How did that happen exactly?"
Sellen hummed for a moment. "Hm, remember I told you about how the Shattering made the Lands Between go all kinds of crazy?"
"Yes?" I asked cautiously, already knowing Sellen would be going on one of her lecture modes.
"That was one of the many consequences of the Elden Ring being shattered and the Golden Order's 'Order' thrown out of balance," she said. "Some lands just decided to randomly fall and got swallowed whole by the seas, some just decided they wanted to float in the skies," she scoffed, as if she wasn't saying impossible things.
"Hmm, what else are wrong since the Shattering? Oh yeah, those undead that roam the earth or a bunch of humanoids called Wormface in the forest near the capital, and don't forget Those Who Live in Death."
"..what?" I asked her horrified. Why the fuck was something named a Wormface? That was fucked up, no? And wasn't the last one just an undead? Why would she differentiate an undead with them? Why did they need a special name than just undead?
"Oh, you haven't heard anything, dear; there's more," she giggled, "like sentient pots that just appear someday, some as intelligent as humans, and decided they want a place of their own and made a village to live in. And the Carians that I've talked about? They can't even control their own creations anymore; their prided 'Enchanted Snares' preyed on enemies and allies alike, and I suspected the corruption of the Golden Order had something to do with it, as with any magical phenomenon that's gone wrong since the Shattering." She finished.
Hm, understood. Some super important ring got destroyed, and the land became crazy because of it. At least the gist of it. I nodded at Sellen and thanked her.
The camping trio finally noticed us at this point. One of them looked toward the water casually from the corner of his eyes before his gaze instantly turned to us. I chuckled; I could just imagine his eyes widening inside those helmet.
The one who noticed us subtly nudged his friends and pointed toward my walking form.
And I had front seats to look as the trio tried to look at us while trying to make sure not to stare too much, not helped by the fact that I firmly placed the illusion of my eyes glowing softly red.
I couldn't help but laugh out loud, which alerted them immediately.
After a few minutes, my feet finally touched ground, and I let Sellen stand on her own. Our interrupted guests looked between us, seeing me in my Akatsuki robe, smiling casually, and then to Sellen in her Academy robe.
Which probably translated in their minds as 'Danger' if Sellen was right.
"Fancy meeting you out here, friends," I said with a wave, apparently raising my hand was the wrong move.
Because that got their attention, individual hands going to their waist where their weapons were strapped.
I chuckled. "Sure that's a good idea?" I nudged my chin toward their hands.
They instantly tried to relax their stance; woah, did these guys were high-strung. I shook my head mentally.
"We are just being cautious... friend," one in the middle said, his voice gruff. "Two strangers suddenly come from the... water, warranted at least that much, no?" He glanced behind me toward the sea.
"Fair, fair, well. We'll be going on our way now," I nodded behind them, toward the raised plains. "Take care, friends."
I walked circling them, getting out of their way, while Sellen followed beside me, sighing, and readying her staff.
Wait, why?
I activated my MS just in case. Sellen did something with her magic, and with a bell chime, magic arrays appeared on her feet. She jumped into the distance, about 10 meters away, then turned toward me, no, toward the three guys slightly behind me and to the side, staff already glowing.
A grunt reached my ear, the sound of feet beneath the sand, before a sword passed through my abdomen. I looked at it confused..
Why did they attack us? I thought Sellen said they only escalate in fights they were sure of winning?
I turned around as the guy that slashed me almost fell to the ground not expecting his attack to pass through my body.
A bell chime, a whoosh of air, a blue glow, then the guy was dead, head burst like a ripe melon as a particularly large magic stone impacted his head.
A continuous chime came from behind me this time, like Sellen was holding something back.
Another one came for me, a curved sword slashing overhead, the one holding it screaming unintelligibly. It passed my form, as expected, and the guy almost stumbled trying to correct his stance, I stepped to the side, and pushed him lightly with a palm and an application of chakra that push him further than he should be, which finally made him stumbling toward the ground.
As he was falling, I heard a shriek, like a sword passing through the air after a swing, then once again I saw brighter glows from the corner of my eyes. Two thuds came from beside me as thin, long blue light shaped like a crescent harmlessly pass my side.
The last guy just stood there, probably taken aback by how easy his friends got taken care of.
I kneaded my chakra into Fire.
My hands came up, blurring together-
Snake, Ram, Monkey, Boar, Horse, and then Tiger.
Heat bubbled from my throat, and I let it loose, opening my mouth, and pushed!-
Fire Release: Great Fireball.
Dude just stood there in only a second it took me to prepare my attack.
A fireball, as big as a man flying toward him at a reasonably fast speed-
BOOOM.
He was flown back a few meters before he landed with a thud, similar to what I heard to what happened to his friend, armor burning in places, his arms mangled the wrong way as he managed to place them in front of him before it hit.
I didn't know if he was dead or just passed out. But he didn't move; he'd die anyway as his armor kept burning.
I stood there, bewildered, hands still in the Tiger seal.
"You did walk toward them from atop the water, as I said, and it did make them wary," Sellen said from behind me, "But then you circled them, avoided them as if you're wary and afraid of them, and you don't demonstrate any visible power whatsoever before that, add the fact that powerful people usually love to hear themself talk," She continued, "You look just like a normal person too, and maybe because you did what you did, they figured you were just showing bravado, and maybe they thought they can surprise attack me from behind to deal with me first." Sellen finished with a shrug, I looked toward her, and her arms were crossed below her bust.
Huh, lesson learned, I guess?
Stupid slavers.
Sellen must have seen something from my expression because she continued with a smirk, "and I never said they were famous for taking a smart decisions," she shrugged again, not caring very much about them.
Well, I wasn't too. I was just surprised because it looked like we were just gonna pass through just fine and they randomly decided to attack.
But then again, in hindsight, I should have expected something like this, you were more likely to meet a hostile person rather than not in this kind of game, although this was a world I live in now, I still should have expected some similarities.
I shrugged as well, "whatever,"
A ding came from my phone, "Oh a capture target!"
How I could hear the sound when the phone was literally in the Kamui Dimension was beyond me though.
I looked toward the still burning man, guess he was still alive. I walked toward his downed form, and began binding.
After that was done, I checked my phone..
Barely tier 4.
Hm weak, the misshappen beast was a low tier 5 after all.
Whatever. Then I bag him into Kamui dimension, not caring at all if he survived.
I walked toward Sellen, "So, where to?"
Sellen smiled, then turn back to show her behind toward me again.
A glee filled my mind as I catched up to her-
SLAP-
"AARON!"
A/N: this is becoming a tradition at this point.
