Location: TARDIS Console Room
Date: -
...really?
You wanna know the DATE - inside the TARDIS?!
Are you NUTS?!
The calibrations alone just to compute such a complex and unknown measurement...
The retreating of the mental presence of his beloved ship within his mind should have been the first warning the Doctor received.
Well...
That and the dimming of the console room lights that would have revealed to the Time Lord that there was something currently amiss onboard - if, of course, said Time Lord hadn't been so engrossed in whatever it was he did to pass the time whilst his companions slept the hours, minutes, seconds away.
The next thing this tinkering Doctor knew, however, was that his head had exploded with an agonising pain after a piercing squeal had cut through the air and caused him to startle; successfully managing to get his head to hit the underside of the console - that really didn't need any more tweaking - at the same time his sonic slipped and hit an exposed wire, shocking him in the process.
"Ow!" the brunet hissed as he moved from under the controls, glaring at the console - at his ship - like his pain and embarrassment had all been her fault. Though silence was all he was met with - right before another squeal cut through the air and caused the Doctor to wince as he realised the source was getting closer.
"Doc! It finally came!" a voice; horrifyingly familiar, feminine, and far too excited for the Time Lord's liking, resonated from a corridor within the depths of the TARDIS not far from where the Doctor was stan-
"Oh, come on, Sexy. Please, please don't do this to me!" the Doctor cried as he dashed around the TARDIS controls, trying to get the doorway leading into the console room to disappear - or the ship in its entirety if he could just recall how to dematerialise whilst wanting to leave someone behind...
He was not in the mood to deal with his on-again, off-again companion.
He had just managed to get the kitchen smelling like, well, a kitchen rather than whatever the hell Snapper had managed to do to the room after he'd slipped inside. And that was after he had managed to hide said kitchen from the bloody Compsogna-
"Doc?!" a pale-haired woman called as she burst into the console room like some cape-wearing villain. And it was only the fact that said 'cape' kept trying to decide if it wanted to take off or remain disguised as said cape did the Doctor manage to stop himself from opening the TARDIS door and just letting Ren fly right through and into...
What star system did he park in again?
And would it kill the unkillable...?
"It came!" however, came the reply he certainly hadn't been expecting after as Ren skidded to a halt before him, waving a letter around like she were trying to swat a fly. And sighing with resignation, mentally calling out his traitorous TARDIS, the Doctor rocked back on his heels, eyeing his occasional companion and very own 'Devil's Assassin' wearily.
"Please tell me that's my death sentence," he deadpanned, raising an eyebrow at the overly excited blonde as he wondered if fate would ever be so kind and finally grant him a quick and painle-
"What?"
Ren blinked, the woman's whole body eerily coming to a complete stop as if the Doctor's words had succeeded in petrifying her. Though not even four - terribly quick - heartbeats later, the blonde blinked once more and it were as if she'd come back to life; frowning even as her eyebrows furrowed with clear confusion.
"No, I didn't get that one..." she revealed rather heartbrokenly - only for a smile to break out on her lips and the Doctor to have the sudden urge to run - to flee someplace far, far away and never return.
"But I did finally get my acceptance letter!" was suddenly exclaimed before the Doctor could act upon his ever-faithful and lifesaving urge, Ren waving what he realised to be an envelope in his face.
Yet, and the moment the crest stamped within the dried wax on its back caught his eye, he felt his stomach drop with dread and his eyes snapped back to the assassin.
"Yo-you got accepted..." he paused, shaking his head as if he couldn't believe what he was about to ask, "...into Hogwarts?"
