The Aftermath and Baseball Bat

This story begins with what Aubrey, Kel, and Hero went through when Sunny and Basil fought each other, and revealed the truth. But past that, things are a lot more light hearted and mundane. Aubrey and Kel grow closer in Sunny's absence. Basil still has some trouble, but he's not the focus here. (Idk why but when I select character tags in the app, Sunny's has a typo.)

10. Morning Scene

"Hey Aubrey!" Kel waved to her as he entered the school building that morning. "Did you hear back from Sunny too?"

"Yeah."

"See? I knew he'd send something to us eventually!"

"Yeah."

"Aubrey?"

"Yeah?"

"Uh… You okay?"

"Yeah."

Well, can't beat that. Kel thought. Still, if she was gonna keep agreeing, he figured he may as well go for gold.

"You wanna sit together at lunch?"

"Yeah." Then Aubrey remembered she can't just space out when talking to Kel, "Wait a sec-"

"Too late! See you after class!" and he took off.
