Apologies, this is not a new chapter. I have been on such a long hiatus for several reasons that I cannot even begin to explain. Life got the best of me and I've neglected many of my works.

In light of the recent addition to the Gundam SEED universe and a big kick in the ass to get myself back in gear...I am busy reworking or rethinking my current stories, and figuring out what I can continue with or what stories have just been left alone for too long that they need to be shelved.

That being said, "The Scars We Hide" is one of my first-ever stories and I'd sincerely like to complete it.

I will admit that part of the reason this story hasn't continued is because the plot I originally had for the story and the pairings haven't worked out the way I planned and it feels wrong to force it.

I am busy relooking at all my notes and sorting out some plot holes. I will be continuing with this work very soon in the future.

Some things to keep in mind;

1) I will be keeping the story here and also posting on A03 (pen name is the same). So you are welcome to read on whichever platform you prefer.

2) There will be edits and minor changes to currently available chapters to reflect new adjustments and changes to the plot. I would recommend a re-read when I start posting again.

3) The main pairing will eventually be Kira/Lacus/Athrun poly.

4) I'm open to suggestions for a new pairing for Cagalli as this might influence other pairings to change, so I encourage you all to share your thoughts on any other options. I have some thoughts, but I am currently undecided.

A HUGE apology to Asucaga fans! I am also a fan of the pairing and most traditional Gundam SEED pairings, but for all the scenes involving them specifically in this story of mine, it just wasn't working (part of me noticed it from some readers comments) and I knew it would only get worse in the future, especially with the drama that crops up later...It just kept reading as a strong Athrun/Lacus and Kira-centered story that made the romance between Cagalli and Athrun seem like an unnecessary footnote and forced, which is something I never want to have happen *SIGH*

I know I will disappoint many of you with this choice, but from my side, it needed to be done ┐(´д`)┌

My time travel story "Gundam SEED: The Veiled Light" will also be updated and continued, with the pairings sticking to canon, so please keep an eye out for that as well.
