The sky was always his favorite place. A place free of walls and quiet, a rare thing to get when you can hear a worm's heart from 300 miles away. On a good day life was normal for Clark, as normal as one could get when you are one of the world's only heroes. Today was a new day though one he had dreaded for weeks. Today was his interview with Lois Lane, star reporter of the daily plant. A persistent woman who wont stop hounding him for his interview. Luckily for her and I guess for the city there wasn't a single thing Clark needed to do. No robberies, no supervillains, not a single league mission. All he had to do was something he never gets to do. Clark had to talk about himself for once. "let's get this over with" Clark said with a heavy sigh as he slowly descended to the roof of the daily planet where the spunky reporter was waiting in all her glory. Clark couldn't help but admire her the most beautiful girl he's ever seen and someone who he wanted to spill his heart out to, but he knew she could never see him for Clark and hoped she would never see him as something inhuman.
"Miss Lane I presume" Clark said in his deepest voice to sound the least like himself and make Superman as distinct as possible. "That would be correct oh mighty man of steel" she said with a smirk that made the man of steel melt. "So shall we jump right into it" she said in her classic right the point attitude often landing the best interviews since the participants never had time to prepare. "Sure, miss Lane" Clark said landing gracefully. "Please call me Lois" she said with a smile as she pulled out her voice recorder. "let's start with something easy, shall we?" she asked as she looked him dead in the eyes "where was superman born" she bluntly spoke but Clark knew this question was coming and his chuckle said it all "well…superman was born on a farm"

*7 years ago: Smallville USA*

"Clark come to the table right now" Jonathan Kent called into the field of wheat outside the small farmhouse. His face riddled with disappointment as he waited "come on now I know you can hear me" he said knowing full well his son could hear for miles without any obstruction.
in a matter of seconds, a teen came walking out of the very same field sniffling and crying as he walked past the man and sat down with a slump as he waited. "You skipped school again Clark" Jonathan said calmly as he stood looking out the window "want to explain to me exactly why?" he asked his voice unmistakable to Clark "I didn't want to go" the boy said matter of fact "well that's not good enough of a reason". "Because they make fun of me and call me weird and they push me and look at me" Clark started but was soon cut off by his father "and that mean you can skip out on your responsibilities…to school, to me and you're mother….to yourself" his father asked.

"maybe" Clark said saddened "Clark I'm sorry those kids are mean to you and you're not going to like this but I need you to know kids are going to be mean, how you choose to respond is a different story, running away from them doesn't change what they do" Jon said as Clark looked at him "but there right….I'm weird, I can see through walls, and I can hear what everyone is saying…even people who aren't near" Clark said describing his budding powers. Unsure how to respond to the 15-year-old boy's complaint, Jon was at a standstill, Clark knew he wasn't normal but to what extent his son was unsure.

"Clark…. Follow me" Jonathan said his gruff voice softening a little as he walked to the barn Clark close behind "what you're going to put me to work for skipping school" Clark asked searching for the punishment his father was known to give.

Silently Jonathan pulled some chains and the floor opened. In the old cellar of the barn was something out of this world literally, a ship "what is this?" Clark asked feeling as though he already knew the answer to his own question. "This is what you came to earth in" his father said calmly. "What do you mean?" Clark asked "15 years ago something struck the farm, just near the overgrowth near the lang farm" Jon said his face almost scared to admit what he was going to say "Clark you….you aren't from earth" the air stood still for Clark…his world shattering into a million pieces "so I'm….I'm not your son?" Clark asked. "You are my son Clark but you are different….Clark you're the answer to every question humanity has ever asked about itself" Jon said as he saw his son examine the craft "what does that mean?" the boy asked "I don't know but I know you're special" Jon said "why because i'm an alien".

"No, I felt that way before you started doing what you do….I knew, because from the moment I held you in my arms and looked you in the eyes….I knew there wasn't anything on earth I could love more" Jon said getting a hint of emotions as he looked at the craft. "Clark you are going to do amazing things for this world good things, people are going to hate you for it. I wish I could tell you differently but I know the human race to well to lie but Clark its up to you to face that hate and choose if you're gonna run or if you're gonna do whats right" Jon said as Clark sat there "And if I choose to run, if I choose to hate back?" Clark asked. "Well…we are gonna love you anyway" Jon said as he patted his son on the shoulder "but I know that the man you become…he'll be someone….someone super" Jon said before leaving the barn.
