...
THe summer sun bathed the Seattle skyline in a warm, golden glow, the perfect backdrop for a day Callie and Arizona had dreamed about for so long. The garden of their new house was transformed into a magical venue, adorned with twinkling fairy lights and blooming flowers. Friends and family gathered, their faces beaming with joy and anticipation.
Callie stood in front of the mirror, smoothing out the delicate lace of her wedding dress. Her heart pounded with excitement and a touch of nerves. She glanced over at Travis, who was busy adjusting the tiny floral crown on his sister s head.
"How do I look, buddy?" Callie asked.
Travis's eyes sparkled as he grinned. "You look like a princess, Mommy!"
Callie laughed, her eyes misting with tears. "Thank you, Travis. And you look very handsome in your suit."
There was a soft knock on the door, and Meredith peeked in. "It's time," she said, her voice filled with emotion.
Callie took a deep breath, nodded, and took both Travis's and Olivia's hands. They walked out together, greeted by the sight of their loved ones gathered in the garden. The music started, and Callie felt a rush of emotions as she saw Arizona standing at the end of the aisle, looking radiant in her elegant dress.
Arizona's blue eyes locked onto Callie's, and in that moment, it felt like the world around them faded away. Callie could see the love and happiness shining in Arizona's eyes, and it made her heart swell with overwhelming joy.
As they walked down the aisle, Callie couldn't help but reflect on their journey together—the ups and downs, the heartaches, and the triumphs. They had faced so much, but they had come out stronger on the other side. Today was a celebration of their love and commitment to each other and their family.
When they reached the altar, Richard Webber, who had graciously agreed to officiate the ceremony, smiled warmly at them. "Ladies and gentlemen, we are gathered here today to witness the union of Callie and Arizona, two incredible women who have shown us what true love and resilience look like."
Callie and Arizona exchanged heartfelt vows, promising to support and cherish each other through all of life's challenges. There were tears, laughter, and a profound sense of gratitude for the love they had found in each other.
"And now," Richard said, his voice strong and steady, "by the power invested in me, I pronounce you wife and wife. You may kiss your bride."
The garden erupted in applause and cheers as Callie and Arizona shared a tender, loving kiss.
As they walked back down the aisle, hand in hand, Travis and Olivia running ahead of them with their baskets of flower petals, Callie felt an overwhelming sense of peace and happiness. They were a family, bound by love and strengthened by their journey together. She couldn't help but to think about Terry. A tiny tears was forming in the corner of her eyes and she stopped a little. Arizona felt the change in their intertwined hands. She turned to face her wife and smiled at her.
She cuped her cheek and wiped discretely the tear away.
"Sorry..." Callie apologized, a sad smile Arizona knew too well.
"Where ever he is, he's happy and at peace. And he's for ever in our heart."
...
The reception was a joyful celebration, filled with laughter, dancing, and heartfelt toasts. Callie and Arizona couldn't stop smiling, their hearts overflowing with love and gratitude. They danced together, holding each other close, their love radiating to everyone around them.
As the evening progressed, they slipped away for a quiet moment alone. They stood on the edge of the garden, looking out at the city lights twinkling in the distance.
"Can you believe we did it?" Arizona said, her voice filled with wonder.
Callie smiled, wrapping her arms around Arizona. "I believe it because we're unstoppable together."
They shared a tender kiss, the promise of their future together shining brightly in their hearts. Just then, Callie's phone buzzed in her pocket. She pulled it out and saw an email notification.
Her heart raced as she opened it.
"Arizona, look," she said, her voice trembling with excitement.
Arizona peered over her shoulder, reading the words on the screen. "Congratulations, your request to adopt has been approved," it said.
Tears filled their eyes as they realized their dream of expanding their family was coming true. They hugged each other tightly, overwhelmed with joy and gratitude.
"We're going to have another baby," Callie whispered, her voice choked with emotion.
Arizona smiled through her tears. "Our family is growing, Callie. I can't wait to meet our new little one."
They stood there for a moment, holding each other and basking in the happiness of the day. It was a new beginning, a new chapter in their lives filled with love, hope, and the promise of a beautiful future, even if Terry will always be a part of their family.
...
The days and weeks that followed were a whirlwind of excitement and preparation. Callie and Arizona worked together to get everything ready for their new addition. They painted the nursery, picked out baby clothes, and readied Travis and Olivia for their new roles as big siblings.
One afternoon, as they were putting the finishing touches on the nursery, Travis came in holding a stuffed animal. "Is this for the baby?" he asked, his eyes wide with curiosity.
Callie knelt down to his level. "Yes, it is, Travis. Do you want to help us get the room ready for your new sibling?"
Travis nodded eagerly, his face lighting up with excitement. "I can't wait to be a big brother again!"
Arizona smiled, her heart full of love for their little boy. "You're going to be the best big brother ever, Travis."
As they worked together, Callie and Arizona couldn't help but marvel at how far they had come. They had built a life and a family together, and they were about to embark on a new adventure with their fourth child.
...
One evening, as they were putting Travis and Olivia to bed, Olivia looked up at them with a thoughtful expression. "Mommy, Mama, do you think the baby will like me?"
Callie and Arizona exchanged a tender glance. "Of course, sweetheart," Arizona said, brushing a strand of hair from Olivia's face. "The baby is going to love you just as much as we do."
"But what about Terry? He will never know it. And the baby will never know him either." the little girl said.
"The baby will know him because we will talk to him about Terry. Like we talked to you about him." Arizona replied, her eyes filles with emotions. "And Terry would have been so excited to meet him, don't you think?"
Olivia smiled, snuggling into her blankets and nodding. "I love you, Mommy and Mama."
"We love you too, Olivia," Callie said, leaning down to kiss her forehead. "More than anything in the world."
As they left Olivia's room, Callie took Arizona's hand. "We're really doing this," she said, her voice filled with wonder.
Arizona smiled, squeezing her hand. "Yes, we are. And I couldn't imagine doing it with anyone else."
...
The day they had been waiting for finally arrived. Callie and Arizona stood outside the adoption agency, their hearts pounding with anticipation. They held hands, drawing strength from each other as they prepared to meet their new child.
When they walked into the room, they were greeted by a social worker holding a tiny baby boy. He had big, curious eyes and a tuft of dark hair. Callie felt her heart melt the moment she saw him.
"Callie, Arizona, this is your son," the social worker said, handing the baby to Callie.
Tears streamed down Callie's face as she cradled the baby in her arms. Arizona leaned in, gently stroking the baby's cheek. "He's perfect," she whispered, her voice choked with emotion.
Callie looked up at Arizona, her eyes shining with love. "Welcome to our family, little one," she said softly.
As they left the agency, the baby nestled securely in Callie's arms, they felt a profound sense of completeness.
Back at home, Travis and Olivia rushed to meet their new brother. "He's so tiny!" Olivia exclaimed, her eyes wide with wonder.
Callie smiled, kneeling down to let them get a closer look. "He is, but he'll grow, just like you did."
Travis gently touched the baby's hand, his face lighting up with joy. "Hi, baby brother. I'm your big brother, Travis. And you have another brother in the sky, his name is Terry and I can't wait to talk to you about him!"
Arizona watched the scene unfold, her heart swelling with pride and love. They had come through so much together, and now they were standing on the threshold of a new chapter, a chapter filled with love, laughter, and the promise of a beautiful future.
