Author's Notes: I know it's been a long time since I've updated this story and I don't have a good excuse for that. All I can say is real life and writer's block are a pain. I know that it's mostly me copying from the actual episodes and tweaking some things around but sometimes motivation is a factor when it comes to my writing. I just haven't felt motivated. Not to mention the other projects I'm currently trying to update and my hyperactive squirrel brain gets distracted by practically everything. I do apologize and I promise to try to update a bit more.
Now, with that mea culpa out of the way, welcome back to this alternate universe and we are in for a doozy. This episode is honestly the one I've been dreading due to trying to think of ways that this episode would have played out if Sean was there. Would he side with the angry mob and join in ostracizing Spinner? Or would he sympathize with Spinner? How will he react to Jay's part in the tragedy that led to him having to force himself to look inward? There were so many questions I had but couldn't answer them. I have some ideas but whether they'll translate well is anyone's guess. I will do my best and if it sucks… Well, I guess it sucks. That's all I can say.
All of that out of the way, let's go into the next episode: Eye of the Tiger.
Disclaimer: I own absolutely nothing. I'm just having some fun.
As the group of students watch Jimmy Brooks being unloaded from the handicap accessible exit of a bus, Sean stands next to Ellie as the crowd cheers for Jimmy who wheels his way closer to the school on his chair.
"Thanks, you guys." Jimmy spoke. "And thanks for not making a big deal out of it."
"Hazel tried to stop us." Ashley told him.
"Emphasis on 'Tried'. Everyone was really excited to have you back." Marco remarked.
"Even the elusive Sean Cameron." Jimmy said as he saw Sean standing next to Ellie who was standing next to Ashley and Craig. "This must be a special occasion."
"Like Marco said, everyone was excited to have ya back, man." Sean said with a shrug.
As if on cue, Spinner steps out of the school with Manny in tow. He sees Jimmy and awkwardly waves at him.
Jimmy acknowledged Spinner's greeting with a cold stare and said "Everyone?"
Hazel gives Spinner the side eye which makes Spinner put his hand down. Sean noticed the icy reception Jimmy gave Spinner but only bit his bottom lip and he held Ellie's hand tightly.
Jimmy quickly changed the subject by asking "Okay. Who's ramping with me?"
Sean watches as Jimmy is wheeled off by Marco and Paige, Hazel, Craig and Ashley follow. Ellie leads Sean up the school steps as they pass by Spinner and Manny.
Sean nods to Manny who smiles weakly at Sean only for Ellie to pull Sean inside.
The couple go into the school as Manny consoles the guilt ridden Mr. Mason.
Opening Credits
[This scene takes place after scene with J.T., Liberty and Danny at her house]
Sean and Ellie head into The Dot where they find Alex sitting at a table by herself. She seems less friendly than her already prickly self then perks up when she sees the two.
"Two of you missed quite the show." Alex said in a bitter tone. "Jay just left."
"I take it he's still trying to apologize?" Sean asked as he and Ellie took seats in front of Alex.
"And I greeted this attempt with a milkshake to the face. Could've done a lot worse but The Dot doesn't sell battery acid." Alex snarked. "But enough about my landfill of a love life. How was school?"
"Same old same old, I guess." Sean said as he opened his backpack and pulled out a folder from inside then handed it to Alex. "Here are today's assignments."
"My hero." Alex said sarcastically as she took the folder. "Thought recovering from an STD would keep me away from the homework."
"If you want, we can help you with them." Ellie offered.
"Much appreciated, Red." Alex replied.
"I'll be back." Ellie told Sean, kissing on the cheek then walking towards the ladies room.
"Sure nothing else happened today?" Alex asked once Ellie was fully out of earshot.
Sean smirks at his friend. "You're bored, aren't you?"
"Like you wouldn't believe." Alex said teasingly. "I normally don't care about school gossip but I'm craving a small drop of it. Breaks up the insanity in my brain."
Sean chuckles then says. "Jimmy's back. The whole school basically threw him a heroes' welcome."
The mention of Jimmy's name made Alex freeze. An expression that Sean noticed.
"Jimmy's back? I didn't think he'd be back this soon." Alex said, sounding uncharacteristically anxious.
"Yeah, came back today. They gave him the red carpet treatment without the actual carpet." Sean explained. "Even Spinner has been giving him the royal treatment. I mean, I get it. He's Jimmy's best friend-"
Sean stops speaking as Alex starts blinking rapidly. Especially at the mention of Spinner's name.
"He has some nerve. After what they did…" Alex spat spitefully.
"After what? What's going on?" Sean asked nervously.
Alex sighs, she needed to tell someone. And she didn't owe Jay her silence. Not anymore. "There's something you need to know. About what happened to Jimmy."
"That Rick shot him, I already know that." Sean said, still a bit confused by this.
"Yeah, but I know who pointed Rick to Jimmy." Alex replied guilty.
"What do you mean?" Sean asked, his curiosity stimulated by this.
Alex's eyes shift as she sees Ellie coming back to the table. "Can we talk about this somewhere more private?"
"What's going on?" Ellie asked.
Sean looks up at Ellie "Alex wants to tell us something important but not out here."
"Okay." Ellie said, still befuddled by the situation. "We can bring her over to our place. That's private enough, I think."
The three of them walk out of The Dot with Alex clutching the folder in her hands. Gripping it as tightly as she would Jay's neck.
[This scene takes place after Liberty and J.T. get caught in the Jacuzzi by her dad, thanks to Danny]
At Sean and Ellie's place, Alex was sitting on the couch as Sean sat on a chair across from her and Ellie sat on the couch next to her. She looks as if she made a full confession of what happened to Jimmy.
Sean taps his fingers on his leg in an angry manner. He did not like what he just heard. "Jay asked you to set up the paint and feathers prank on Rick?"
Alex nods. "He and Spinner wanted to embarrass him. I wanted to help. I didn't think it would go as far as it did."
"No one blames you, Alex. At least I don't." Ellie replied.
"Jay didn't force me. Which makes me just as guilty, right?" Alex replied.
"Most of the school was bullying Rick. You didn't think Rick was going to bring a gun to school. It was a mistake." Ellie told her.
"You weren't the one who told Rick that Jimmy was behind it." Sean said, his anger going from a simmer to a boil. "You shouldn't have to pay for Jay's choices. Not now, not ever."
"You did." Alex said, implying their criminal activities as The Candy Bandits. "We both did. Our hands aren't clean."
"Least you didn't have to literally wash Rick's blood off your body." Sean points out. He looks at Alex who didn't want to make eye contact with him. "Alex… I don't blame you for any of this. I promise. Jay should pay for this. Not you."
Alex looks up at Sean and breathes a sigh of relief. "Thanks."
Ellie spoke up, "If you want, you can talk to Ms. Sauve. I can go with you if-"
"How about we take this slow, El." Sean sternly told his girlfriend. "This was a huge step. Let her breathe, okay?"
Ellie nods, not realizing how anxious this was making Alex. She felt terrible for being pushy and for upsetting Sean.
[This scene takes place after the fight between J.T. and Danny]
Jay laughs at hearing the fight between J.T. and Danny while sitting in his car in when a very angry looking Toby walked over to the car. He looks up at Toby and sees the younger boy was holding a baseball bat. "I'd put that away or you'll take your eyes out."
"You killed him." Toby said through gritted teeth.
"Excuse me? I don't speak dork so you'll have to translate-"
Suddenly, Toby takes a swing at the driver's side mirror and knocks it over.
Jay sees the damage to his car and seethes. "You're dead, Four Eyes!" He tackles Toby to the ground and pins him to the floor. The blow knocks the bat out of Toby's hands.
"You killed Rick! He's dead because of you!" Toby shouted.
"Well, now you're gonna join him." Jay threatens as he goes to punch Toby.
Suddenly, someone grabs Jay's wrist before he could strike Toby. Jay looks up and sees it was Sean who stopped him.
"Get off him, NOW." Sean growled as he forced Jay off Toby. He pushes Jay away from Toby and stands between the two of them.
"What is your problem?" Jay asked, surprised by his friend's actions.
"My problem is we know what you did." Sean said in frustration. "Alex told me everything. Telling Rick that Jimmy was behind that prank."
Jay laughs at this as Sean helps Toby up. "And you believe her? She's just lying because she's pissed at me for the crap I did in the Ravine."
"I would believe that… if Spinner hadn't told Jimmy everything." Sean replied. "I took a bullet because of that. I almost died. Emma almost died!"
"Go ahead, make me the bad guy. Whatever helps you sleep at night." Jay said bitterly as he threw his busted mirror into his car.
"Get out of here. Or I'll bash your head in worse than Toby did to that mirror… and I don't need a bat to do it." Sean threatened.
Jay glares at Sean then gets in his car and drives away.
Sean stands there motionless. He knew he had lost his friend but he didn't care. A weight was lifted from his shoulders. He turns to face Toby who was picking up the bat off the floor. "Are you okay?"
Toby nods, "I think so."
Sean nods as he leads Toby inside the school as the crowd disperse.
[This scene takes place after J.T. and Liberty make up. Basically this is the scene before Spinner confesses to Hatzilakos]
Sean and Ellie were waiting outside of the principal's office. He taps his foot nervously and Ellie holds his hand to try to calm him down. He gives her a weak smile as they continue to watch for the door.
"This is a bad idea. Alex shouldn't get punished for this." Sean admitted.
"We don't know if Hatzilakos is gonna do that. We're not dealing with Raditch anymore." Ellie pointed out.
"I know… but she's still the principal. She has to punish someone for this." Sean said as Spinner stood a few inches away from where they sat.
"It's gonna be okay." Ellie assured Sean.
"You guys okay?" Spinner spoke up.
Ellie looks at Spinner and glares at him. "Don't you have someone's life to ruin?"
Spinner looks at Sean who refuses to make eye contact with Spinner. He takes a few steps away as Alex walks out of Hatzilakos' office. He walks past Alex and walks over to Ms. Hatzilakos, starting a conversation with her.
Sean and Ellie go over to Alex who seems a little nervous. "How'd it go?"
Alex shrugs, "I'm not off the hook but I'm not in too much trouble. Two weeks of after school detention."
"That's it? She kinda let you off a little easy." Sean replied.
"Guess I got lucky." Alex said with a shrug.
Just then, Jay walks into the school and sees the three of them. "Well, look at this. The gang's all here."
Alex scowls at Jay as Ellie grabs her shoulders. "Piss off, pig!"
"Ellie, get Alex out of here." Sean ordered. "I'll handle this."
Ellie nods as she takes Alex away from the scene.
"So now you're everybody's knight in shining armor? Must be nice." Jay chides.
"Wouldn't have to be if it hadn't been for you." Sean said bitterly.
"So you're passing judgment on me? Thought we were friends?" Jay replied with a twinge of hurt in his voice.
"We were. Past tense." Sean said as he walked towards where Ellie took Alex. "Now we're done."
Jay watched as Sean walked away from him and out of his life.
[Which would cut to Spinner in Hatzilakos' office and we all know what happened there]
I know this was another short one but I didn't want to change too much of what happened there. Jimmy and Sean are okay but they aren't besties so why really change that. Also, the small ripples can sometimes cause big changes and these ripples are no exception.
The next episode is probably gonna be longer considering it's taking the place of the events that actually happened in the main timeline. Specifically what happens between Ellie and Sean. Buckle up folks but you're in for some drama.
I appreciate you guys.
I'll try my best not to take too long with updates. Emphasis on TRY.
