« I don't know if that's a good idea... » Arizona stated grabbing the groceries bag from her car as April was helping her. « What is it going to change ? Will it go to court ? I don't want to deal with her. She's just a crazy bi... »
She stopped talking when she saw Callie getting out of her home, with her luggage, followed by two sad Children.
«Of course you are going to press charges Arizona. She beat you up severely ! She needs to understand she can't do that ! For god sake's she's in jail at the moment !» April continued as she witnessed Callie leaving the blonde's house.
Arizona sighed heavily, trying not to think about what was happening in front of her eyes.
« Is she leaving ? Did you know it ? » April asked as the two of them made their way to the house.
« It's not of my business. » The blonde mumbled, avoiding her ex wife and her children gaze at all cost.
The two friends put their bag on the kitchen table in an awkward silence. Tears were coming to Arizona's eyes but she was struggling to keep her emotions for herself.
Noticing the emotionnal state of her friend, April broke the silence.
« Arizona, what's going on ? » She asked. « It was meant to happen, she wasn't going to stay here. And you were telling everybody you weren't comfortable with her around . »
« It's not of your business April, Let it go. » Arizona snapped.
« Are you kidding me ? » The red head snorted. « You called me everyday this week to come to your place or to come to my place, telling me how weird and hard it was to endure Callie's here. Not one time you mention your assault or the person who attack you. All I heard about it's how Callie Torres is making your daily life unbearable. And now that she's leaving you're upset, and it's not my business ? I'm on your side here Arizona... I'm your friend, I'm here to listen, to help. But I can't read your mind ! »
At the same time, Callie was walking back in the house, looking for her phone she had forgotten. She was about to get back outside to say good bye to her children when she heard the heated conversation.
« What do you want me to say April ? » Arizona snapped again. « I have nothing to say. I can't... »
« Oh sweetie... » April rushed to her friends and took her in her arms as the blonde totaly broke down, all the wall she had build to protect herself for years collapsing.
The sobs were really loud and heartbreaking it reminded Callie some complicated memories.
« It's ok. I got you. » April said trying to comfort her friend. « You can let go. I'm sorry I push too hard. »
Arizona managed to cool down a little. She wanted to say something but she was totaly lost. It was not Penny's assault which was bothering her the most. That pathetic event had just prove to everybody qhe was right about Callie's girlfriend. It was not only because she was jealous or bitter that she despised the younger woman. But of course that's what everybody thought.
She had always felt uncomfortable around her for some unknown reasons. She could feel something twisted and almost perverted. But that was not the problem right now.
Right now she was at lost towards her feelings for Callie.
She couldn't handle to have her around all the time but she was realizing that despite everything that had happened between them, despite the anger, the hurt and the lack of communication, she was still in love with her ex wife.
« She's leaving and you are going to have your life back. » April said, thinking it was the good thing to say.
« I can't... I can't... » Arizona repeated, her voice still shaking. « It's not ... »
« What? » April confusedly asked. « You don't want her to leave finally ? »
« I... I... »
Seeing her friends totaly stuck and in pain, April felt useless when Barbara entered the room finding her daughter devastated. »
« What's going on in there ? » the older woman asked.
« Callie is leaving » April explained calmly. « And apparently Arizona didn't known and I thought it was what she wanted but... I guess I'm wrong, or I'm missing something. »
Barbara looked at her daughter in the eye and smiled at her.
« What is it honey ? » She worried. « Is there womething you want to say ? You know what, you must be exhausted. Go and have a nap. I'm taking care of the kids and everything. »
« She told you ? » Arizona asked.
« Told me what ? » The grey haired woman asked in return.
« That she was leaving? »
« I asked her to. You were miserable since she came here. And it's been a few days since the... incident. So I think it's time for everyone to get back to their lives. »
« What are you talking about ? She has nowhere to go and she has to deal with her crazy girlfriend. » Arizona retorted. « I'm not saying I want her here but it's good for Liv and Travis. Everything is so messy, they need stability. And both their parents. »
« Both their parents that are unable to talk to each other ? Both of their parents that can't stand to be in the same room more than 5 minutes wihtout scrreaming at each other ? » Barbarra sarcastically replied. « I don't know what's going on in that head of yours, but for your chilren's sake you better figure it out. They need you of course, both of you, but not under the same roof. You are not the same when you are around each other. You are totally silent and she's walking on eggshells. So I know the situation is delicate, but I think it's important for the kids that you came back to normal, but separatedly, in your own houses. Like before. »
Still listening, Callie was taken aback by her former mother in law statement. She was the one wo had welcome her with open arms. But she was right in a way. They needed to clarify the situation and not gave the children false hope.
« I don't know. » Arizona defeatedly said. « I'm just not... »
« You're not what? » Barbara asked her daughter.
Arizona sighed one more time, trying to hide what she was feeling, but also wanted to explain her confused state of mind regarding Callie's leaving.
« No one in my life has hurt me like Callie... And no one had never hurt her like I have. » Arizona stated. « There's too many things between us, too many misunderstandings, too many hurting... But ... »
Arizona stopped and felt like she was gong to collapse when the realisation hit her hard.
« Arizona? » April immediately worried seeing her friend pale face and shaky hands.
« I'm... I'm still in love with her. »
