...

Arizona was in the private jacuzzi relaxing, her eyes closed.

The warm water was helping her sore and tense body relax.

She was so grateful Callie had offered her this weekend after weeks of physical therapy.

And she was more than happy to spend time with her ex-wife / new lover...

The blonde was so relaxed that she didn't even realise Callie had joined her in the giant massage tub.

She smiled as she looked at her. Arizona was so peaceful, almost asleep. She had a big smile on her face and Callie hesitated a second before approaching her quietly, not wanting to disturb her.

She was inches away from her, but Arizona didn't react at all, still totally at peace.

Callie brushed her lips on her temple and Arizona immediately turned to face her.

She opened her eyes slowly, discovering two brown eyes offering her nothing but unconditional love.

She smiled and captured the brunette lips.

The kiss was deep and meaningful and both women were totally lost in each other.

Callie's hand was dangerously stroking the inside of Arizona's thigh. The blonde moaned of pleasure as Callie passionately kissed her neck, her hand was now playing with Arizona's bathing suit.

« Callliope... » Arizona mumbled, trying to control her body but unable to do so. Both arms were around Callie's neck, pulling her closer.

Suddenly Callie lifted her up and took her place so Arizona was straddling her lap.

« Oh... » The blonde let out in amusement.

Callie didn't say a word, she looked deeply into her lovers' blue eyes.

Arizona rested her forehead on Callie's and was totally mesmerized by the emotions she saw in them.

« I love you Arizona. And I want you so much... » Callie whispered in her ear, making Arizona's body shiver. « I have missed you so much... »

« I love you Calliope... I don't know, we have been so blinded and so... »

Callie put a finger on Arizona's lips. She didn't want the big talk now.

She just wanted something more...physical.

She kissed her passionately, one hand on the blonde's back and the other moving slowly towards a place more sensitive, she needed to show Arizona how she felt, how much she loved her.

« Ssshhh. » She whispered in the heated kiss. « Not now, now all I want is you, I want to make love to you. »

…..

The physical reconnection between them had been a total Fireworks.

They had spent hours exploring and rediscovering each other's bodies, and it was obvious that after years apart, they hadn't forgotten how to blow each other's minds in bed.

They were laying in the king size bed of their room, legs intertwined, Arizona's head resting on Callie's stomach, the brunette was protectively embracing her.

Arizona had fallen asleep after several heart shattering orgasms. And Callie was smiling widely. It was so quiet around them. They were alone in the world; nothing could hurt or disturb them.

She was in heaven. But then, as she was stroking the blonde's back, her fingers touched the scars Penny had given to her.

She felt Arizona moving a little, she was waking up. She thought she had hurt her by touching the sensitive wound.

« Hey you... » Arizona mumbled in a raspy voice, her messy hair all over her face.

Callie smiled in relief. Arizona didn't seem to be in pain or bothered by the touch. She didn't even feel it.

« Hey you. » She replied, kissing her nose. « You could have slept more. I know you are tired honey. »

« Well, you know, I didn't know I was going to … you know... » Arizona blushed. « It has been a long time since I... Practiced... »

« Well, you haven't forgotten the basics. » Callie smirked as she leant in and kissed the woman she loved so much.

She was totally falling for Arizona over again. Even if she had always loved her, she was totally convinced she was more in love with her ex-wife now than before.

The kiss quickly became heated, and Arizona pulled away, reluctantly.

« Callie... I don't know if my body can go for another round... » She said, laughing. « I'm old now... »

« You're right... and I think I'm a little hungry... » Callie admitted. « So, what do you think about we get dressed and then we'll go to that fancy restaurant? »

« I'd love that... »

….

They arrived at the restaurant, hand in hand, a big smile plastered on their faces.

Everything, in this moment, was perfect.

They walked to their table and as they were about to sit, Arizona winced in pain, her hand finding its way to the scars on her back.

Callie immediately worried and came to help her sit.

« Are you okay? » Callie asked with concern. « Are you in pain? Oh my god... Arizona, talk to me... »

« It's... It's okay Calliope, it's just … It happens sometimes. It's like a little electric shock where... the knife... » Arizona said, gasping at the memory. « I'm... I'm okay... »

Callie sat in front of her, never letting go of her lover's hand.

« We can go back to our room... » Callie suggested.

« And not testing all these amazing Italian specialities? Are you kidding? » Arizona reassured with a smile. « I'm okay Callie, I swear. »

The dinner settled, a weird atmosphere was hanging in the air. Callie was suddenly quiet, and even a little distant.

Arizona knew she was feeling guilty about her injuries.

« Callie, it's not your fault. It's Penny Blake who stabbed me, not you. Listen, I know you still feel like it's because you brought her into our lives, but the woman was sick. She had been playing you since the very beginning, Arizona explained, as tears rolled down Callie's cheeks.

She approached her chair and kissed the brunette temples, Callie suddenly crumbled, tears flowing.

Arizona pulled her in the most loving embrace and whispered words in her ear.

« I know it's not totally out of your head, and I know it's going to haunt you for a while, but please my love, know that I will never blame you for anything. »

« How can you be so sure about that Arizona? » Callie asked between sobs.

« Because we have already hurt each other enough for a lifetime, and as I told you, you are not responsible for your crazy ex's actions. » Arizona said. « We are so lucky to have found each other again. We are going to be so happy. You, me and our beautiful babies. »

« I just want you to know, even if you keep telling me it's not my fault, that I'm so sorry it happened to you. » Callie said. « I... I was so scared when you were lying in that bed, for weeks... I thought I lost you, and I couldn't have survived that. »

« Ssshhh... Don't think about that baby. I'm here, and I'm not going anywhere. Life has made it very clear we are meant to be together. After all the pain and the suffering we have been through, I think it's just time for us to enjoy life. » Arizona stated. « Of course, we will never forget our little angel. He's a part of our family forever, but we have to move forward. We owe it to him, and to us. »

….

Back in their room, both women settled in front of the tv looking for a movie to watch.

The dinner had been emotional, and they needed a moment to relax.

Arizona was sitting on the couch looking through Netflix selections and playing with Callie's hair. The brunette was lying on her side, her head resting on Arizona's thigh.

Finally finding the movie they were going to watch; Callie was unable to focus on it.

She was still thinking about what Arizona had told her.

She had found the exact words she needed to hear, and it had helped her take a step back from her inner turmoil.

All she had ever wanted, all she had never needed, was here. It was Arizona, and their kids. She wanted her family back, and none of the rest of it mattered.

Arizona was enjoying her movie, hoping Callie had been able to think about lighter things after her breakdown earlier.

Callie sat back on the couch and stared at the woman next to her.

Arizona knew that when Callie was looking at her with so much intensity, it meant something was up.

She gulped, trying to ignore it. She was afraid her Calliope had made a decision regarding their relationship, and in her mind, of course it would be a negative one.

But Callie remained next to her watching her intensely.

« What is it with you? » Arizona asked her, trying to keep her tone funny, but fearing she was going to have bad news.

Callie didn't reply. She remained frozen on the couch, totally focused on the blonde.

« Callie? » The blonde worried a little.

Callie eventually smiled at her, which relieved Arizona but also annoyed her. She rolled her eyes and tried to get back to her movie when she heard something she was not ready to hear.

« Marry me... »
