After Kieran left for the blueberry academy lincoln began to work on getting stronger because when you live in a cave you kinda don't have anything to do besides from survival
he still went to Kieran's grandfather for resources like clothes due to his living situation ether causing his clothes to get damaged or him to outgrow them due to his added muscle from living on the mountain
while waiting for his clothes to be repaired or made he often read to prevent himself from going fully feral
he's formed a friendship with almost every pokemon on the mountain and even learnt how to understand them (after lots of trial and error.)
he's even seen other people and improved his Pokémon batting prowess against them becoming a cryptid of sorts
he would battle trainers who would go up and try to "end the ogre." And help trainers who had gotten lost in the mountains all while wearing his mask which he added a mouth to in order to make it look more like pon pon's mask
sometimes he received gifts from the trainers he has helped
there is a lot of debate in kitakami (and on the internet) about what Lincoln is. some say that the ogre died and he was their reincarnation others say that he's it's guardian (which is somewhat true.) others say he kicked the ogre out and took over the mountain
though because of this he's gained some unwanted attention
for example he battled this blonde trainer with a garchomp which he barely won (he hates pianos now)
he met a green haired man with a dragon who he had a pleasant conversation with
he met a man in a red hat who was silent, but he was nice
though more often than not it's trainers who think they can beat him and lose horribly
though the nice trainers who do put up a good fight always give him praise which he likes
like this one:
"Bravo! your talent has brought you to the destination known as victory!" The loud frowning man said as he returned his gliscor to its ball
"I am emmet! You are verrrry strong!" The smiling man in white said "wouldn't you agree Ingo?"
(Ingo? I've heard that name before from that other me!) Lincoln thought to himself (I can see why he likes him.)
"I agree emmet." Ingo said "thank you for the battles."
and with that they walked away
(well I learned something new today.) Lincoln thought to himself (I learned about double battles.)
he went back to pon pon's cave
"(hey Lincoln!)" pon pon said upon him entering "(how are you?)"
"I'm doing good pon pon I met another nice trainer two of them actually." Lincoln said as he took off his cloak and his mask revealing his sharp teeth
he isn't sure how his teeth got sharper than the fake mouth on his mask but he lives with it
he lets his team out to relax for a little bit
"(those guys were tough.)" pillar the conkelder said
"(yeah but we beat them!)" Mimi said
"(though those double battles were fun!)" noir exclaimed
"(except when that klinklang hit me with an iron head.)" ruff said
"(I wonder when we will have another battle?)" chilled said
while they were talking Lincoln was thinking about one thing.
Kieran coming back
he heard about it yesterday from Kieran's grandfather when he went to get his clothes fixed
Kieran and his sister carmine would be coming back for the festival coming up soon they would be there in a couple of days
it had been almost 2 years since he woke up in pon pon's cave and almost a year since Kieran left for the blueberry academy
during that year he realized something
he loved Kieran
at first he tried to deny it but eventually he realized that yup he was in love
so right now he is trying to think of what to say
"(should I just be straight forward or something else?)" Lincoln thought to himself ( it's so confusing.)"
eventually he grabbed his mask and his cloak
"I'm going for a walk I'll be back in a little bit." Lincoln said before heading out
he walked through the mountains occasionally breaking a random boulder in two or helping a Pokemon
just when he was about to head back he noticed something
a glowing pecha berry
(huh that's odd.) Lincoln thought to himself as he picked it up (I better take this with me.)
a couple times on his away back some random pokemon would try and take the berry but one growl from him was all it would take for them to leave
once he got back he put the berry in a basket for later
"( so do you guys think that we would be able to go to the festival?)" chilled asked "(I mean Lincoln has a mask.)
"(yea but a good half of kitakami knows his mask so I don't think so.)" Mimi said
"(I mean we could just grab another mask.)" noir said "(and even if we do get caught Lincoln would probably just bite them.)"
"(true.)" Mimi responded
"(what do you think?)" ruff asked Lincoln
"I mean we can probably go." Lincoln said
"(awesome!)" chilled said
Lincoln let out a small chuckle sometimes his team felt like his kids rather than friends
at the loud house
it had been two years since Lincoln disappeared
his friends were pretty sad to see him gone
Clyde called every day to check to see if they found but after a year he gave up
but Lisa was still looking
Lori and Leni had moved out and Luna was going to be next
luan was sent to a mental institution to try and fix her but she faked it all the way and was ready to prank everyone when she got back
(luckily Lisa prepared for this and had anti prank measures in place.)
Luan blamed Lincoln for her predicament which everyone thought was wrong
right now Lisa was checking everywhere for a signal of any kind
"how in Einstein's name could he have vanished?" Lisa asked herself as Lily walked in
"hey Lisa." The four year old said "still looking for him?"
"yes." Lisa said as Lily looked in Lisa's drawer and pulled out a watch
"what's this?" Lily asked
"that's a prototype for an dimensional watch." Lisa said "Lincoln told me about a dream he had where I made one and sent him to a world where we are boys and he was the only girl and that inspired me to-THAT'S IT!"
"what's it?" Lily asked
"of course how could I have not thought of this?" Lisa said as she typed on her computer to look for dimensional energy and found some in the forest "Bingo!"
"can you please explain to me what's going on?" Lily asked
"the reason we can't find Lincoln is because he isn't in this dimension!" Lisa said "he must've fell through a portal of some kind!"
"the does that mean we can use this to find him?" Lily asked
"unfortunately no it's just a prototype meaning it could have unknown side effects on us, we will have to wait for a proper one to be finished and figure out where the energy leads to which could easily take a couple months." Lisa explained
"alright." Lily said before leaving the room
Lisa immediately got to work
(don't worry elder brother unit I'm gonna get you home.) Lisa thought to herself
a couple days later
Kieran was back in kitakami after almost a year
since he and carmine were from here they got a little bit of extra leeway so they said hello to their grandparents and he went and caught a yanma
soon after that he met Juliana a student from paldea
his sister challenged her and lost
then he had a battle against her and also lost but she was nice to him about it
eventually he and her paired up to do a group project they had to take a picture of them in front of info boards
after the first one she said that she was going to catch some Pokémon and they would meet up later
he finally got an opportunity to go see Lincoln
now Despite not having a phone he and carmine had heard about the cryptid in kitakami and while carmine thought it was fake news Kieran knew exactly who it was
it was Lincoln of course
on his way there he noticed a green applin and got an idea
(people in galar give their sweet hearts an applin! That's the perfect way to confess!) Kieran thought to himself
he caught the green applin and let it so he could tell it what was gonna happen
"hey little buddy I'm gonna give you to someone I have a crush on ok?" Kieran asked
the applin nodded in understanding while thinking (humans and their weird traditions at least he told me what he was gonna do.)
soon Kieran made his way up the mountain and to pon pon's den
pon pon ran out of the den and gave him a hug
"you missed me?" Kieran asked "hey Lincoln I'm back!"
then Lincoln stepped out of the cave and Kieran was immediately caught off guard
Lincoln was taller, had more muscle, was wearing a pretty sweet cloak, had a majestic mane of white hair that went past his shoulders and looked pretty intimidating...
for about five seconds before he got a huge grin and said "Kiki!" And then proceeded to pick him up and hug him while rubbing his cheek against him like a rockruff
yea he definitely was glad he caught that applin
yea he's a little feral
Kieran pointing at Lincoln while looking at Ogerpon:
"I don't know what the hell you're feeding him but he is too damn big!"
if I had to best describe Lincoln at the moment I'd say that he's a combination of dragon ball super Broly, koko from the Pokémon secrets of the jungle movie and warden Ingo
also the idea of Lincoln just being a local cryptid was just really funny to me
