12th of Kythorn:
We've been camped outside Westbridge for the past two days because the church of Velsharoon was expecting us. It's been a while since I've received guidance from Marat. Today I found a quiet spot to sit and meditate.
I see myself dedicating another temple to Kelemvor… the vision blurs… Val lies fallen next to a wagon, covered in blood, a crossbow bolt sticks out of his side… the vision blurs… I'm speaking with an auburn-haired woman. She's telling me about Eldora as a child… the vision blurs…
Then everything goes completely dark.
Even with my eyes open I can't see anything but darkness. So I summon the radiant light from within me to banish the darkness. And a figure with ghostly skeletal wings appears as the darkness receded. As soon as I see the white hair and dark black eyes, I know I've come face to face with Eldora.
"What are you doing in my visions?" I spat out.
"I want to talk with you," Eldora replied.
I didn't answer.
"Why are you stealing my legacy?" she asked me.
"Your legacy?" I questioned.
"Yes. MY Legacy. Sorath and Velsharoon promised me greatness if I spread Velsharoon's beliefs. Didn't your deva and god promise you the same?"
"Marat has always guided and protected me. And Kelemvor's priests helped me accept my fate after the fire. But I was never promised greatness, and I don't need Kelemvor to accomplish greatness. Eldora, you don't need to follow evil to find greatness," I replied.
"That's easy for you to say. You don't know what it was like growing up with no one. Always being bullied by the other children because of how you look. And adults were rarely any better, but at least they mostly just ignored me. When I was five or six Sorath came to me in a dream. They said they would always be here to guide and protect me and teach me how to protect myself. All Sorath asked was that I trust their plan and in return, I would create greatness. And I have. I've had a part in founding five temples to Velsharoon, all of which have my mark, and you're destroying them."
"I know what it's like to be bullied for your looks," I said gesturing to my scarred face and hands, "Everything in my life changed after the fire that nearly took my life. I had to learn how to reuse my body after it healed. I went to Kelemvor's church to understand why my life had been saved. And I've taken what I've learned and the gifts Kelemvor has given me to spread goodness and healing. We've both had challenges, Eldora, the difference is you chose the side of evil."
"I chose the side that took care of me."
I was suddenly pulled from the vision by Elisha shaking me.
When I opened my eyes he said anxiously, "Are you all right? Swift and I found you lying here unconscious. We've been trying to wake you for several minutes now."
I sat up and then closed and opened my eyes a few times, to get my bearings. Being pulled out of a vision is jarring. I saw Swift and Elisha were next to me both looking incredibly anxious. How long was I gone?
"Yes. I fine. I was meditating," I answered.
"I've seen you meditate before, Zira. This was nothing like that. We were calling your name and shaking you with no response for almost five minutes. What did you see?" Swift replied.
"Eldora. We were talking. Let's go get Adrala and Israel and I tell you all what I saw. And what I'm thinking," I answered.
