"Did you see that, Kitten?" Ladybug stares hard out one of the windows. "No. what did you see?" "some kind of shadowy figure. Or perhaps it was a figment of my imagination?" she rubs at her temples, and I place my hands on her shoulders.
"You'll feel better once you have some food in you. If you give me the Horse Miraculous, I could pop back to Starbucks for a coffee?" Ladybug bites her lip. "Its meant for the greater good, but in case, I'm okay breaking rules."
Soon we're sitting with our friends, and though Ladybug is eating, I can see the wheels turning in her head. Is she coming up with a plan? "Your we're akumatized into Pride," Ladybug tells Hydra, "and you were Greed. I feel like I'm missing some part of a puzzle, but I haven't put my finger on it yet. This congee is really good, by the way."
I made sure to load my bowl with plenty of proteins and veggies, though the pastries looked good too. After breakfast, we head down to the History Exhibit. Crumb is waiting for us, arms hidden in his wide sleeves, his blue eyes twinkling.
"Welcome to the History Exhibit, you two. Once you start the classes, I'm sure you'll be spending more time in here. But for now, let me show you around." Crumb gives us a small tour, pausing by one of the Ladybug and Cat Noir statues. "I know you have several displays in the Louvre, but we wanted to show our students their history, as well as bringing up confidence. Cat, Ladybug, if my lecture is boring you…" Crumb stares at us as we begin to jump around as a burning sensation fills our pockets. We each pull out our Kwagatama, and like magnets, they join together.
"Well, I'll be," Crumb says in wonder. "You two truly are ying and yang to each other." "But what does it mean?" Ladybug asks. "It means you'll both get to talk to a previous Miraculous holder at the same time. That's never been done before."
"There's a first time for everything," Ladybug says, leading over to the statue. "I'll leave you to it. Good luck, you two."
I grin as he walks away. "Good luck, because your Lady Luck," I wink at Ladybug who's giving "the look". "Okay, I'll shut up now." "Hold your Kwagatama up to the statue symbol and say "Reunion! Okay, Kitty?" "Got it."
A red and green flash sends us backwards and we jump selecting our past holder. If I didn't know any better it reminds of a video game back home.
I hit mine first and a courtly knight appears dressed in armor. "Greetings, young cat, I am Dark Grimalkin. Er, what is your ladybug doing?" Ladybug is jumping up and down but she can't reach her picture. "Need a helping paw, M'lady?" I ask. Grimalkin smiles sweetly. "Aw, that is so sweet."
"Yeah, sometimes he's so sweet he gives me cavities," Ladybug grumbles as she climbs on my shoulders. "I heard that," we both say.
Another figure dressed in armor now stands before us. "Oh no, not another love story," she groans. "Wait, how does she know about Taylor Swift?" I whisper. "Cat!" Ladybug hisses.
I hold up my hands, then use one to bow. "The floor is yours, Bugaboo!" Ladybug's face is now as red as her suit, and her eyes blaze like blue fire. Oops. "Grimalkin, listen to these two. Did we ever spat like that?" "Spat?" I narrow my eyes. "Hey, wait a minute, this is banter!"
"Grimalkin, Joan," Ladybug spreads her palms wide. "We came here to Tibet as there is a mysterious villain named Scorpius and I think two people have already been akumatized. All without seeing the mastermind behind it. Any advice for this Cat and Ladybug?"
"Stay vigilant, and take care of each other. I know this isn't the advice you two were hoping for, but its the best advice we can give." "Thank you for your time," we say and end the reunion.
Ladybug groans and buries her head in my chest. "Cat, even Hawkmoth was more open when we first met him. What if we never find the brooch or the person behind it?" "Hey, hey," I soothe, backing her against the wall. "Look at me. We're a team, as your partner and as your best friend, you won't lose my support or trust." Ladybug nods, a single tear running down her cheek. Before I realize it, we're kissing, her hands in my hair, and we take comfort in each other.
We part ways and I head back to the dorm for a bit, then wander down to supper. However, the sunset is spectacular, and I head out into the fresh evening air. Then I spot Ladybug, alone on one of the ramparts.
"Hey, got room for one more?" I sit down beside her, and she cuddles into my side. "Isn't the sunset beautiful? I've been sketching it." Paint smears cover her suit and cheeks, but like the sunset M'lady is always beautiful.
We have fun with our new friends after dinner, and Ladybug and I find a quiet corner to say goodnight. "Remember, my love, our friendship will never set. Sweet dreams, my love." I kiss her cheek, breathing in her sweet scent.
I hope to rise early and pick a rose for her to surprise her at breakfast, for it has been far to long since Ladybug received a rose.
Out in the night, Scorpius had also seen the sunset, but he loved the darkness best of all. It was about time to akumatized someone again, but would Ladybug foil his plan again?
