My dreams are full of puzzles and I wake early, finding Lyra up early too. "Couldn't sleep?" she asks,.

She's working on some kind of quilt or blanket and I crawl out of my warm bed to see it closer. "Hey, your a good sewer! You knitting this for someone?" Lyra shrugs. "I don't have anyone in mind at the moment, but maybe once its done I'll have found the perfect person. You want to help me?" I laugh. "That was my next question!"

We work until the first bell rings, then we have to shower and dress, for its our first official day of school. "The rest of us started months ago," Lyra explains as we head to the dining room. "But don't worry, you and Cat will catch up fast."

Cat is waiting at the door, looking at bit sleepy, but he still gives me that smile I love so much. "Good morning, Bugaboo," he gives a little bow. "Ready for day one?" I nod, taking his hand. Though his voice has his gentle teasing manner, he still seems a bit off. "You okay?" I whisper as we head through the breakfast line. "I dreamed about Mother last night," he whispers back. "I guess I'm just missing her this morning."

Unlike Cat, I devour my toast, baked beans, and hot porridge. Cat picks at his food. "Love, you need to eat or you'll have no energy for first period. Here, have some toast…" my voice dies away with surprise as Cat bats away my hand with an angry expression on his face. "Maybe its not food I need, Ladybug."

Now, I'm the one who doesn't have an appetite as I stare after my boyfriend. "Is he okay?" Lyra asks gently. "You didn't do anything wrong." I decide to tell them. "Cat doesn't have a mother or father, and he loved his mother very much. He has moments like this at times." Hydra looks at me. "What happened to his father?" I squirm. "That's….complicated. When Cat is ready to share, he'll tell you."

Lyra and I are in the same class and she leads me to the classroom. When she opens the door, I feel like I'm back at home with a dozen cooking/baking stations around. At the back of the room, desks in rows stand before us.

More students file in after us, staring and whispering. One girl even sniffs. "Your a little late to the semester, Ladybug. Enrollment was ages ago!"

Okay, clearly not everyone is thrilled to see Cat and I. But doesn't this girl realize that whoever has the highest marks gets to fight alongside Cat and I?

I feel a hand on my shoulder, and Cat is standing behind me. "Better late then never, right? And we we're summoned. Besides, if we weren't here, maybe Scorpius would have destroyed the Temple already." The girl snorts, twirling her hair around her finger. "As if, Cat Noir, we have a whole Temple to protect us." she walks away before we can respond, and Cat, muttering and tail swishing, walks away too.

"That was Ivy," Lyra whispers to me as we find our seats. "She's called Poison Ivy though, because she's like a rash of meanness towards other students." I give her a quick grin. "That name suits her well."

Once class starts, we're told to come up to the front where many potted plants are, and sketch them in our workbooks. The exercise is to know what kind of plants they are, and how what they can do to feed the Holder. Is it food? Is medicine? Even poison? Our teacher assures us that even the poisonous items on display will only give a temporary discomfort and Ivy comes to mind.

I've always hummed and swung my feet when I doodle as it helped me stay focused. After the exercise our teacher tells us that we'll divide into groups and now be cooking with the plants.

A girl named Poppy and I are teamed up, and she's thrilled to work with me. However, when she grabs the plant labeled "Katniss" I must admit I've never cooked with it before.

"Pluck off the tubers and I'll prepare the baking dish," she smiles at me while she adjusts the oven's temperature. "Have you made this before?" I ask, doing as instructed. "Before I came to the Temple, I lived by the river and this was one of the plants that grew by the river. When baked, it tastes like a potato." "Sounds fabulous."

Soon, the classroom is filled with good smells, and I feel a bit giddy. Until suddenly a snarling roar fills the air.

I gasp in horror as I glance towards Cat's and Lyra's station where a carnivorous looking plant has its jaws poised to pounce!

Cat is using his baton as a barrier, and the plant follows it every moment. Then I hear… "Cat Noir, here!" Shy Lyra throws Cat none other then a flamethrower! Cat gets a wicked grin on his face. "Let's torch this baby!"

Oh, Kitty, you have fun at times even in the face of danger. The plant is fried to a crisp and after we recover from the shock, we all start clapping. Our teacher tells us that the plant is now good to eat!

The rest of the morning is uneventful until the lunch bell rings and we pass by the windows again. Cat is following Lyra and I at a distance when suddenly he gasps and bounds out the window.

Did he see the mystery villain? I run over to the window, placing my hand on the cold glass, looking at the delicate snowflakes twirling outside. Just be careful, Cat, I say silently.

If he needs my help, he'll let me know, but for the moment he's on his own.
