The sweet sound of birds chirping wakes me, but when I look around all I see is darkness. Where am I?I ask myself, running a hand through my blonde hair. Then I remember it rained during the night and I curled up in the abandoned tree hollow.

When I emerge from my burrow, I yawn and stretch, seeing its going to be a beautiful morning. Then I see Ladybug in the distance on a tall rock, her back turned to me. The happiness in me vanishes and I know I need to clear the air of our small spat as quickly as possible. I hate arguing with her, even if arguing is necessary at times.

Knowing coffee is a good conversation starter, I quickly text our companions then take a small trip back to Paris. Ladybug is still in the same spot when I walk up, clearing my throat.

"Good morning, Bugaboo. Mind if I join you?" she looks down at me, nodding and patting the seat beside her. "I won't be offended if your still mad at me," I tell her. "I know you only said that last night because you have compassion and a big heart for others." "I'm not mad, Kitten," she says softly. "I just hate it when we fight."

"Me too. And I was in a wrong anyway." I sigh. "Cat, your allowed to be angry, but that's in the past and we all make mistakes. You may call me perfect, but I am nowhere near."

A sudden twitch upturns my lips. "Well, since your admitting, M'lady, I've got a list…" "Oh, stop it," she punches my arm playfully. "Hey, I found a place last night I think you'll enjoy. We can stay for awhile and then get back to our friends." "Cat, what have I told you about night prowling?"

I go about as red as her suit. "Marinette, don't you dare tell Lyra that one time I sneaked in to see you after patrol and your father caught us." "Papa was so mad! And then you had to use the front door for awhile. It wasn't even like we were doing anything naughty!" "I disagree, there was kissing." "Cat." "Okay, a lot of kissing, but that was it. I promise!" "You don't have to convince me. I was there! Oh."

We stop at the end of trail where a small waterfall splashes down into a perfectly formed rock pool. I detransform, scrambling up on the rock and get ready to dive.

"Adrien, what are you doing?" Ladybug calls. "Why, going for a swim, of course!" "Your going to fall in!" "Its perfectly safe. How about you get changed and join me?"

A few minutes later, Marinette paddles up to me, her face glowing. "Your right, this is nice. But when did you learn to swim, Kitten?" "My Princess, don't you remember? I became an expert when having baths in your tub!" "Yeah, because someone would stick there tail in places it didn't belong, even after reminders. Does the name Cat ring any bells?" "You can ring my bell anytime, and I was only over because of my rubber duck collection." "As I recall, you hated the tub at first, and throw literal hissing fits." I pull her close, rubbing her nose against mine. "Oh, you just know all my deep dark secrets, don't you?" "Able to fight the most feared villains of Paris, yet he's scared of tub."

"You know, for someone so beautiful, your really mean, you know that?" Her eyes darken. "Yeah, and what are going to do about it?" "Guess," she whispers her sweet breath the scent of honey.

An electric current runs through me as I weave my hands into her hair, pulling in her close. All that matters is Marinette, our silly arguments forgotten.

When the pool becomes chilly, I lead her to the sun warmed rocks to warm up. She loops her arm through mine, resting her head on my shoulder.

"So, three kids, a dog, cat and a hamster, right, M'lady?" "Are you proposing?" she squeaks. I find her lips. "Am I?" "Adrien, now isn't the time. We have work to do, and speaking of work…." "Okay, okay," I laugh, helping her to her feet. "I know when I'm beat. But don't think I'm going to forget about this," I whisper, nibbling at the shell of her ear.

We joke and giggle as we make our way back to camp, playing a game of ring-around the rosy with each other.

"See, I told you, Hydra. They only sneaked off during the night because they wanted to be alone. Oh, its all so romantic!"

Cat watches my every movement as I get breakfast together, and Lyra can't help squealing. "He's wonderful in a lot of areas, Lyra, but cooking and singing are not one of them!"

"This hungry cat will learn,

how to make things on his own.

Please teach me not to burn,

For when I burn my paw,

I yowl and you save me

with a treat and kiss."

"Cat…" I warn him.

"My Lady, I'll be going now,

so you can have some peace and quiet,

And I will be as silent as can be,

for I shall be learning new cat puns in the tree!"

"Arrgh!" I groan.

"Don't they sound like a old married couple, Hydra?" Lyra says. "Yeah, but I don't know if they've even make till their golden anniversary. Ladybug looks ready to throttle him!"

"Oh, that's just Bugaboo's Wrath. She'll be fine!" "Is steam going to come out her ears?" Hydra glances at me, then at Cat.

I take a few deep breaths, plop by the fire and ignore my audience. I need to bottle this for when I meet Scorpius face to face.

As we eat breakfast later on, I catch Cat's eye and melt. All the cat puns in the world can't stop me from loving him, for I love him with all my heart. And by some Miraculous Ladybug, he loves me the same way back.
