Hello, sorry for taking so long to post Ch 2. I got a case of lifeitis and I haven't really had much time to write. I might have time to write more since I am out of school but I also have a trip coming up so we'll see.

Edit: tense corrections, grammar errors, bolding and indenting.

It has been half an hour since "it" happened. Owen is on the couch still trying to reach mom but it's taking forever since everyone else is trying to do the same thing.

I figured out how to walk. It took a few minutes to figure it out but now I'm walking around as if I've been doing it my whole life. It is still really weird walking on 4 legs though. It's kind of like crawling but… different.

Right now I'm just staring off into the distance, occasionally pushing my cat Luna away. At first I was scared at how she would react to me since she is usually hostile to other animals , even if they are bigger than her, but she has been unusually calm around me. Maybe she still recognizes my smell or something.

Luna comes back over to bother me again but jumps away and runs when both mine and Owen's phones start loudly blaring a government alert.

I push my phone closer to me, not really being able to pick it up with my paws, and look at the government notice.

"ATTENTION: NATIONAL CRISIS IN PROGRESS. MASS AMOUNTS OF PEOPLE HAVE BEEN TURNING INTO WHAT APPEARS TO BE POKEMON. IT IS ADVISED TO TAKE SHELTER AND STAY AWAY FROM THESE CREATURES AS THEY ARE CONSIDERED TO BE HIGHLY DANGEROUS AND DESTRUCTIVE."

Owen looks over to me and rolls his eyes. "Dangerous my a…" he stops midway through his sentence and looks across the street, remembering what happened with the charmeleon.

We sit there for a few seconds before Owen's phone goes off.

Ding!

Owen pulls his phone out of his pocket as quickly as he possibly can and almost throws his phone across the room. He unlocks it and looks at it for a few seconds before saying, "It's mom!"

I jumped up from where I was sitting and yelled. "Omg is she fine, did she transform!?"

Owen looks at me and decides to guess what I just said. "Um... she didn't transform and is doing fine. The only problem is that the hospital is on code black so she can't leave."

"Code black?" I asked out loud, "isn't that for bomb threats?"

"Um…" Owen says with a puzzled look on his face. "I still can't understand you."

'Damit, I keep forgetting that. But still, why are they on code black. Maybe someone turned into a voltorb or something.' I shrug at Owen as a Nevermind.

"Well texts are taking forever to send so I'll keep you updated when more go through." Owen said.

'At least they're getting through now. I probably won't try to text anyone, until later though when it'll hopefully be faster. Maybe I can try to turn on the news. I mean less people will be using their TVs hopefully.'

"Ok, I'm going to see if I can turn on the news or something." I replied.

Owen sighs and says."Sorry, I still don't know what you're saying." I mentally groan to myself for completely forgetting about the language barrier. 'Maybe I can try typing something on my phone.'

I reach over to my phone and try to type out what I said. It takes a solid minute though since I keep accidentally hitting the wrong buttons. 'Dumb paws.'

I finish typing the message, albeit with a lot of typos, and push the phone over to Owen.

Owen looks down at the phone and jokingly responds, "If the news reporter didn't change."

I roll my eyes at him and start trying to find the remote while Owen goes back to texting mom. I look around for a few seconds before realizing that I probably left it on the couch when I started transforming.

'Uhh I've gotta jump up there don't I? It shouldn't be that hard right, I mean Luna does it all the time.' I sit there for a few moments trying to figure out how to jump in this body and also trying to work up the courage to do so.

After a few seconds I decide to give it a try. 'Alright on three, 1… 2… 3…Jump!' I jump up onto the couch but I only manage to get half of my body onto the couch while my back legs are hanging over the side. I struggle for a few seconds before I am able to push the rest of my body up onto the couch.

I hear Owen snicker and turn around towards him. He has an amused look on his face and is trying to hold back his laughter. "Nice jump!" He says sarcastically. I stick my tongue out at him before turning around and making my way over to the remote. I hit the on button and the tv lights up. I started scrolling through the Chanel's and eventually found a news channel. I switched to the channel but when I got there there was no one on the tv, just an empty news anchor desk.

After a few seconds though someone comes running in with some papers in his hands. He is wearing a nice suit with a rose in his chest pocket and has blue hair with green eyes. He sits down at the desk and sets his papers down before looking up at the camera. "Sorry for the delay. Our main news anchor is ...um….. isn't available right now. But..." he fumbles his papers and some of them fall off the desk. He organizes the ones that are still on the desk and someone comes over and picks up the papers that he dropped.

The news anchor composes himself before continuing, "Roughly 30 minutes ago the United States government and many other countries around the globe declared a state of emergency as people all over the globe started turning into 'Pokemon'! We don't have exact numbers yet but it is estimated to be about 30 percent of the world population."

'30 percent! I knew some people transformed but I didn't think it was that much.' I thought to myself.

"While these creatures may have used to be your friends and family it is advised that you stay away from them as they are very dangerous. So far there are large accounts of property damage, automobile accidents, injuries, and death."

He stops for a second, reading something behind the camera, and then starts talking again, "We managed to get a helicopter in the air and will now be switching over to Jessie with the heli cam."

After he says that the camera switches over to a woman with red hair and a very interesting hair style. She currently has her back facing an open helicopter door but it is kinda hard to see out of it since she is standing in the way of the scenery

"Thanks James. As James said earlier there have been property damage all over the country ranging from holes in the wall to houses burning down. There have also been numerous car accidents when drivers lost control of their vehicles and crashed."

She stops talking for a second and moves out of the way so the camera can see outside. The helicopter is currently over a suburban neighborhood. Most of the houses are fine but about 1 in 10 of them have a hole in them and there are a few smoke plumes in the distance. Also on the roads there are multiple wrecked cars, one of them even being in the side of a house. As they fly over the neighborhood I manage to spot a few Pokémon outside of their houses.

"We are going to start heading downtown to assess the damage there." Jessie says. The helicopter starts heading in the direction of downtown passing over more houses and eventually small businesses and grocery stores.

As the helicopter heads further into the city there are more and more buildings that have holes in them. By the time they get to the edge of downtown it's closer to being 1 in 5 buildings being damaged.

As they reach downtown you can see the damage that has been done to the skyscrapers. There is at least one hole in each building and on top of one of them there is a dragonite. The Dragonite doesn't seem to be taking the change well and is freaking out-rampaging on top of the building and multiple small fires are burning on the floors below it presumably caused by the Dragonite.

"As you can see some people are reacting violently to the changes and should be kept away from." Jessie says as the camera zooms in on the Dragonite.

'Huh, that dragonite is staring at the helicopter real hard,'I realized.' Is he.. omg he's charging something in his mouth.'

The area inside the Dragonites mouth starts glowing brightly as he charges up a hyper beam.

He tilts his head up towards the helicopter and lets loose the hyper beam. The helicopter starts swerving as the helicopter pilot tries to avoid the hyper beam.

As the helicopter is swerving around the cameraman's hand slips from camera which crashes into Jessie sending her towards the open helicopter door, but before Jessie is completely thrown out of the helicopter someone reaches out and grabs Jessie's wrist before she falls out and pulls her back in. The last thing I see on the screen is the helicopter getting further and further away before the camera smashes into the ground.

The tv switches back to a very shocked news anchor. Nothing happens for around 5-10 seconds before James whispers to someone off to the left of the screen, "what am I supposed to do now?"

The person James whispered to takes a second before responding "I don't know, switch over to the weather or something."

James nods at him and looks back at the camera, "Um, now to Cassidy with the weather"

"Thanks James now we are ex——"

I turned off the tv, not really caring for the weather right now and kinda shocked at what I just saw.

It's a few hours before I hear a car pulling up into our driveway. I quickly get up from where I'm sitting knowing that it is probably mom pulling up. Owen gives me an amused look as my tail starts wagging. His amusement stops though when he hears moms keys clacking together as she unlocks the door. The door swings open as mom quickly comes through looking very stressed and exhausted.

"I'm so sorry, I tried to leave the hospital but they wouldn't let me out til now an- WHAT IS THAT THING ON THE COUCH!!!" She practically yells with fear in her eyes.

My ear drooped down the sides of my head, kinda surprised that my mom didn't recognize me. ' I probably shouldn't be surprised though. I mean, I look nothing like I used to.'

"Mom, that is Josh. I told you he turned into an espeon. Did you not search it up like I told you to!" Josh said, kinda annoyed and with a hint of anger in his voice.

My mom is taken aback abit, and after realizing she just called her son a thing she comes over to me to hug me and apologize. "I'm so sorry, I didn't realize this was you. I swear I meant to search it up but I had so many patients to deal with and I haven't had a moment to relax."

I hugged her back, albeit a little awkwardly with how my body is, and replied. "It's fine, I know you've probably been busy with this whole thing at the hospital."

My mom gives me a very confused look and says

"Um, what," while unembracing me.

Owen was about to respond before mom said,

"Oh wait, you can only say your species name right? All of the other pokemon at the hospital had the same problem."

"Yea, it's… been fun trying to figure out what he is saying." Owen responds.

Mom flops down onto the couch completely exhausted. We sit there for a few moments before mom says. "I was so worried that something horrible happened to you guys." Mom said, "Some of the pokemon there freaked out and blew holes in the walls and some people got really hurt. I was worried that something like that might have happened to you guys."

I tried to respond but Owen responded first "Well we got lucky. We were watching the news earlier and there was a lot of damage to people's homes. I'm just glad Josh didn't turn into something… on fire."

"What do you mean on fire?" My mom asks

"Well that's what happened to the house across the street. Someone over there turned into essentially a fire lizard and accidentally burnt down the house."

"Oh," mom said shocked, "well I'm just glad you two are both safe." She says before giving us both hugs.

We sit there, hugging for about 30 seconds, before we let go and mom says, "Anyways I've got to try to call uncle Bill and aunt Susie. Owen, if you could make me some lunch that would be nice, and make some for Josh too since he probably can't make himself lunch."

"No problem." Owen says before walking over to the kitchen as mom walks to her room to try and contact our relatives.

"I wonder if his taste has changed," Owen says to no one in particular as he is pulling stuff out of the fridge, "uh he might not be able to eat some stuff too though." Owen stops for a second before talking to himself again, "well I'm pretty sure a ham sandwich is safe."

I decided to stay on the couch and end up contemplating some stuff. 'Wait, how am I going to eat? I can't hold utensils with my paws and I don't know if a sandwich would stay on top of my paws.'

I sit there for a few moments trying to think of an answer before I realize something. 'Wait espeons are a psychic type right? Does that mean I can.… I've got to try this.'

I jump off the couch thinking it shouldn't be that hard. That confidence was misplaced for when I landed my front paws slipped and I ended up sprawled on the floor. I get up after a few seconds and start looking around for something to try telekinesis on. After a few seconds of look I decided to attempt it on one of Luna's cat toys.

'Um, how am I going to do this? Maybe if I try imagining it moving.' I sat down and imagined the object moving in my head. I imagined as hard as I could but Luna's cat toy never moved. I tried this for about a minute before giving up.

'I don't think this is going to work. I probably need to try something else….. Maybe if I try focusing real hard.'

This time instead of imagining a picture of the object moving, this time I try to focus on the remote really hard. For a few seconds nothing happens but then even though nothing moved it physically it moves a few millimeters, almost like someone tapped it.

"I did it!" I yelled, excited by what I just accomplished.

Owen was walking over with my food when I did it but he didn't see the cat toy move because it was too minuscule. "Is something wrong, " he says.

"Absolutely not!" I respond enthusiastically with my tail wagging behind me. Owen just looks at me and I realize my mistake. I shake my head no at him and that seems good enough for him.

"O…k well I've got your food here. I made a simple ham sandwich and a glass of water for you" Owen says as he walks over with a plate and a cup.

Owen sets the food and water down in front of me. He made me a simple ham sandwich with cheese and plain white bread. I also noticed that he put a straw in my glass of water. 'That should be helpful,' I thought to myself.

I looked down at the sandwich trying to figure out how I should eat it before deciding to try and pick up the sandwich with my paws.

It wasn't as hard as I thought it would be though. I just maneuvered the sandwich on top of my paws and brought it up to my face. I was kinda expecting it to taste different since my whole face changed but when I took a bite of it it just tasted like a normal ham sandwich.

Owen left to go grab his own sandwich before coming back and sitting down next to me. "Hey Josh, how are you holding up?" Owen asks while bringing his sandwich up to his mouth.

"I don't know," I say aloud, "I've kinda just been trying to take in the fact that I turned into a psychic fox."

"Um." Owen says, still not being able to understand me. " Can you write that down on your phone?"

I mentally sigh and grab my phone. I write what I said down in the notes app and pass my phone to Owen. Owen reads what I wrote and responds, "Yea, I can imagine that. I'm just glad you didn't turn into something more dangerous and blew a hole in the wall."

I chuckle a little and grab my phone back to respond, "So am I."

Owen laughs a little too. "Good, we would have a whole another problem if you weren't." Owen says jokingly.

I started laughing again and we continued to talk to each other this way until we were done with our food. By the end of our conversation I've gotten better at texting with paws. I was able to cut my response time in half. While I still wasn't responding as fast as I would like it was still better than before.

A few seconds after we were done with our food I started yawning. Owen took notice and says, "You're tired already, it's only 2pm."

"Really," I say surprised, "I usually don't get tired this early in the day." I then wrote it down on my phone so Owen could understand what I said.

Owen looked down at the phone and responded "Well I guess turning into a physic cat does that to you."

"Ha, I guess so." I say before yawning again. I am definitely tired and instead of trying to stay awake till later I decide I should take a nap. I typed out "I'm going to take a nap. I feel exhausted," and showed it to my brother.

"Ok. Well sleep well then, I'm going to try and text some of my friends."

"Alright," I respond with my phone. "See you when I wake up then."

"See you then," Owen responded.

Owen walks to his room while I go back over to the couch and jump up onto it. I move around for a couple seconds trying to find a comfortable sleeping position before deciding to sleep on my side. I lie there for a few seconds with my eyes closed before I eventually fall asleep.
