There's a message for ya'll at the end here, so stick around. I've had fun with this fic, and I hope you all have as well.
-Story Start-
Ranma was learning that weeks worth of teleporting and herding people, equipment, and livestock was actually quite a lot of hard work. At the least, it got easier as more people became available and work could be divided, eventually just regulating him to transporting the necessary animal and insect biodiversity as Ami put it. But today, nearly a month later from their first visit to Venus, Ranma could relax a bit on a hill over looking a slowly growing town, soon to be city. They had placed it on the shore of the great lake they had originally found, taking care of water requirements while also hoping eventually as a capital city the water access would be very important. Water was life after all. Next to him is a bubbly Minako who hadn't unlinked from her planet in all this time while a quiet Ami stood on his other side, focused on her computer as was usual these days. He really needed to convince her to take a break.
Ranma pointed out to the town, "Anything else I'll need to bring back from random stations or Earth?"
Ami shook her head, "Now with more Crystal citizens awake, we've been making use of what shuttles and construction equipment that had been left over from the previous empire. It's slow going, but the technology is so advanced still that building a city won't take long at all. Several of the stations we've found that were little more than derelict hulks are already being stripped down to be turning into buildings and useful construction materials."
Minako smirks, "It's a good thing the surviving Millennium citizens are so willing to work and pitch in. There was some worry at first that they wouldn't be willing to build or work manual labor at all." Minako has her hands on her hips as she shifts her weight from side to side, "Plus, with the addition of the Amazon tribe, there's been extra hands on other fronts. It's cool that they hold so tightly to their traditions, though I wish they didn't want to stay so far out in the countryside."
Ami shrugs, "Traditions can be important for a people. That they and the Crystal citizens get along at all is a godsend. Just be happy the Amazons accepted having modernized homes and infrastructure."
Ranma links his hands behind his back as he continues to think, "How's the food situation going?" He remembered that Usagi and the others had been able to ship in and find emergency food stores, but they wouldn't last long. Rationing had been hard on everyone.
"You can thank the Amazons on that front again. They had pretty much stripped their village of anything and everything they had, including plants and animals. So farms are already coming into service while they're working their animals overtime. It'll be slow going obviously, though last I checked they've got a plan for increasing animal populations." Minako bumps hips with the young man and all three watch the construction going on below them quietly. Ami's gaze is drawn out to the lake, and her own personal project there.
"Hopefully with no predators, the aquatic life I've seeded throughout the waterways of Venus will experience population explosions as well." Ami had been working her ship overtime over the last month, dropping into the Earth oceans under the cover of night and under cloak to acquire what she could. She'd been unable to acquire anything larger than some of the smaller whales like beluga or orca, but she'd made up for that by sheer numbers. Given a few years and the Venutians wouldn't have to worry about sea food, ever.
Ranma pulls out a piece of paper from his stuff space, handing it back to Ami, "That reminds me, do you have a new list for me on animals to grab?"
Ami nods, taking the list from him and pulling a new one from somewhere to hand him, "You'll need to make trips all along southeast Asia and a few to Africa as well, those climates will most meet Venus's."
Putting the new list away, Ranma nods, "Sure thing, I'll make sure it gets done. Though I'm sure I'll probably freak out a few locals." All three of the teens are distracted by a smiling and bouncing Shampoo making her way up the hill towards them.
"Ni hao Airen!" She jumps, letting Ranma swing her around twice before she settles into his side to watch the view with them.
Pulling his wife into him, Ranma can't help but smile, "What brings you in from the village?"
"Wanted to update in person before you leave. Village release a few herds of goat, cow, and horses. In the wild they should populate on their own no problem." Her grandmother was helping with that, the elder much more knowledgeable on the subject than her. "We've also made a point to allow the chickens and rabbits to have at it for a while, we won't be eating eggs for a bit."
Minako sighs heavily, face glum, "Guess we'll be getting used to bunny burgers then."
Giggling and shaking her head, Ami smiles and looks up from her computer, "Protein is protein Mina-chan."
"But they're so cute!"
Shampoo however is beginning to poke Ranma in the ribs, "Don't you have somewhere to be? You aren't gong to be late are you?"
Ranma watches idly as a shuttle takes off from the shoreline, arcing into the sky and heading for the Venus palace. "I do have somewhere to be, but I have some time." He squeezes the woman at his side, "How was it so easy to convince the Amazon to come?"
"Well, the Chinese government came calling just like we thought. The were making some outrageous demands since they made the connection between you and me somehow." Here a sinister grin etched its way on her face, "Now that no Amazon there to use, I know old men mad as hell."
"I bet they are." Ranma chuckles with her before thinking about his family, "How is everyone settling in?"
"Mother and Genma are settling in easily. Genma has taken to training new martial artists, though it is slow going. Amazon tradition hard to break. Mother is acting as a go between for the Amazon and the Crystal Kingdom people. She is much more modern in thinking than us, but has a good grounding in tradition unlike the Crystal people." Shampoo made a show of tapping her chin as she thought about the others. "Akane and the Tendos settled in easily, Soun taking up teaching with Genma while Akane has been helping around the village with me. Kasumi and Nabiki have considering traveling into town to live there instead. They want to explore and learn more about the advanced way of life they live."
Ranma nods, "That doesn't surprise me at all with Nabiki, though Kasumi does a bit."
"She also say you need to come visit them soon. Something about disciplining unruly daughters." The stumble Ranma made only increased Shampoo's mood, "Naughty naughty husband."
"Blame Akane."
Shaking her head, Shampoo continues, "Ukyo open restaurant in town, just like we knew she would and is doing well. She says she's had to get creative with her recipes, but she's making it work until we get more stabilized. She's having fun and again, hopes you'll come see her as well."
Ami chimes in on the topic of ingredients and plant life, "Give it a few months and plant life should reach a more Earth like diversity. Minako's link is accelerating things massively. Even the farms the Amazon have built should see harvests early."
Minako nods, "And I'll stay linked up for as long as I need to. I want to see our people thrive."
"Be careful Mina-chan. Remember you'll have to ween off the planet eventually. We want things to stabilize on their own and be able to live without magic, okay?"
"I got it I got it. Once people are completely settled and more infrastructure is in place I'll start pulling back, not a minute before."
They are all interrupted by someone's communicator chiming. It is Ranma who pulls a red boxy looking thing from his pocket and flips it open to reveal a stern looking Setsuna. "Guess it's time then?"
Setsuna nods, "Yes, you're almost up."
Ranma nods, "Be there in a sec then." Closing the communicator, Ranma hugs and then pulls away from Shampoo and the others, "I'll be back when I can. Time to get to work."
Minako winks at him, "Don't be a stranger, and tell Usagi I wouldn't mind a repeat performance."
Ami sighs, "Must you?"
Minako reaches over to poke the busy girl, "Why don't you ride the Ranma train, you could use the stress relief." That her friend started blushing right away let her know that she had at least been thinking about it.
Ranma however just shook his head and saluted, "See ya around girls." With a flash of fire he was gone, homing in on where Setsuna was.
Setsuna herself closed her own communicator as she looked around the backstage area of the news station they were currently occupying. Hotaru was off to the side, watching Usagi and the surrounding area like a hawk, wary of potential problems. Around her there were a couple of aids who had been pestering her about Ranma, one of them a mousy yet portly woman wearing thick glasses while the other was a shorter man with thinning hair and an equally thin build. In a flash of harmless fire Ranma was suddenly standing next to her, smirking and casting his eyes around the room idly.
"What'd I miss?" He missed the gasps of surprise from the normal humans around them, as he was focused almost completely on Setsuna as he waved to a smiling Hotaru.
"Not much, Usagi has essentially just started her interview, I wanted you here just in case they asked for you early." Setsuna gave him a once over, "You're going to wear that on tv?" He was dressed casually in his usual silk shirt and pants, slippers firmly in place.
"What's wrong with my look? Not Kingly enough?" Ranma was still smirking as Setsuna did in fact nod her head. "Oh fine."
"Usagi is presenting herself as the Queen that she is. As her husband, you are expected to present yourself accordingly."
Ranma begins to tap into his magic, "I miss when life was simple. Some guy comes out issuing a challenge and I could beat the tar outta him." He's momentarily surrounded by fire again before his clothes change. Patterned in reds and oranges, his normal clothes are still mostly there, though now he is cloaked in a long jacket that reaches his ankles and is closed with a thick black belt. Above him floats a crown of fire and his eyes are shining with inner light. "Give me a hundred Taro monsters over this."
Setsuna shakes her head, taking in the form of the man in front of her, "Careful what you wish for Ranma. The universe is a big place." She has to work a bit to keep her blush under control, his magical pressure almost becoming a physical thing even to the normal humans around them. The mousy aid that had been pestering her was surely taken with him. Pity for her. "You look good."
Ranma grins, and leans in to whisper in her ear, "Does Setsuna want some, discipline, later?" Chuckling as the blush finally lit up her face, Ranma walked forward to stand next to Hotaru and watch Usagi with her, "Hey squirt."
Hotaru grinned widely at the King, "You're just in time Ranma."
Behind them the aids are gushing back and forth, being ignored by the Senshi.
"That's him, the Phoenix King." The woman was nearly bouncing in place in excitement. One of her girlfriends had been lucky enough to go to his gym before he had been forced to close down. Now she could see why she had been going.
"No shit, I thought he was just some punk kid. But he's really got that in control aura about him doesn't he?"
"Sure does."
On stage in front of an audience, Usagi is sitting in her Moon Senshi attire while next to her the reporter, a Trisha Tanaka, was arranging herself after they had gotten introduced properly and basic questions answered. Now however, Trisha wanted to get properly into the Senshi business. "What has it been like being a Senshi? Why did you decide to start at all?"
Usagi chuckles as she thought back to her first meeting with Luna and the frantic learning curve she had to endure in the beginning. "Well, I wasn't really given to much of a choice in the matter. There was someone I needed to help, and I had the power to help them. Eventually I came to the conclusion that I had power, power to help people, to fight evil. So that's what I did. I didn't need anything from it, I didn't want anything from it other than to see my friends and family smile. I wanted to save the world and I've done that more than a few times by now." Usagi pauses a bit, visually deep in thought. "It wasn't until later I figured out that I never really had a choice in the matter. I was the reincarnation of a long dead princess. Eventually I'd have a Kingdom to restore and people to care for. If I didn't have my team, my friends, I never would have gotten this far." Here Usagi looks up to the reporter with a smile, "From barely a high schooler to a Moon Queen. Not to many girls can say that, huh?"
Trisha nods along, sobered a bit by the raw emotion in Usagi's voice, "Then, Um. Well should I call you Sailor Moon or?"
"Serenity is fine, it's one of my titles."
"Great. So Serenity-sama, how do you see the people of Earth then? Do you see us as your subjects? Do you claim Earth as your own?"
Usagi shakes her head, "No never. Like I said, I have my own citizens to worry about on the Moon and on Venus and various places around the solar system. Those are my people. Earth is, well Earth has been my home all this time. My family is here, I have friends here. I want to continue to protect it if I can, but I never intend to rule over the Earth."
"Is there a chance there are more people like you who have reincarnated but have lived more mundane lives?"
"Anything is possible." Usagi wasn't sure honestly, and she didn't think if there were that there would be many. The reincarnation magic had mainly surrounded the Senshi themselves in order to stamp out their old nemesis. Stranger things had happened though, so she couldn't say it wasn't a possibility. "If they have, it's up to them to decide how they want to live. It's not my place to drag them to a Kingdom they know nothing about after all. I have my hands full enough with rebuilding my ancestral home and caring for a tired but determined people."
"That's a great mindset to have I believe Serenity-sama. Tell me, for a Kingdom and you being Queen, does that mean there's a King in the wings as well? What is Mr. Serenity like? I'm sure he's a dashing figure if he's with such a beauty as yourself." No one in this room could deny the beauty of this young woman before them.
"I do have a husband, though he isn't bound to the Moon as I am. Instead he hails from Earth."
That earned a few murmurs from the crowd as Trisha leaned in with a mock conspiratorial whisper, "My my, for an Earthling to charm a Moon Queen, he must be something."
Usagi blushes but nods, "Oh he is, though much like myself, he isn't exactly normal." Usagi leans back with a wistful sigh, "He is the Phoenix Kami after all."
"A…a Kami? Surely you jest. The Kami are real?"
Usagi nods, "Of course they are. Or at the least, some are. He's explained it to me a bit as he's come into his power more. The Kami all have various domains and requirements, some are locked to regions while others deal with more wide ranging beliefs and responsibilities. Something about the higher up the list you go the more you have to deal with. Responsibilities overlap in some areas, his own for example. He deals with life and rebirth, but he isn't the Goddess of Life after all." Usagi looks to the side, giving Ranma a look as she smirks, "You can always ask him, he has better knowledge of it than I do."
Trisha raises her eyebrows as they had been unsure if they would be able to speak to the elusive Ranma himself. That he was apparently calling himself a Kami was new, and might be more of an arrogance thing than literal. He was shagging the Moon Queen after all, what man wouldn't call himself a Kami after that. Tilting her head and confirmed that indeed the man was here she nods with a smile plastered on her face, "Well that would be delightful if he wouldn't mind coming out and asking a few questions."
Usagi turns a bit in her seat, looking back towards Ranma with her grin still in place, though now a blush is coloring her cheeks, "I'm sure he won't mind at all."
Ranma takes that as his cue, bidding Hotaru goodbye while walking confidently out onto the stage. Body trailing a bit of magical fire, crown shifting shape and color, his eyes are locked onto Usagi and no one else. Linking magic with her, he's not surprised as she shifts into her Serenity gown, crystalline crown forming on her head as well. His own magic takes on a more rainbow appearance though nothing else changes this time around. Coming up and not seeing another seat, among gasps of awe he decides to use his magic to float in the air beside Usagi. Usagi leans into him with a sigh, drawing coos from the crowd. Ranma however decides to poke a bit, "You know, for someone who's struck down a few dark gods by now, you should be able to answer enough questions about them."
Usagi swatted him on the arm, "You're not a dark god though, so I've got nothing to say."
Watching the couple banter back and forth a bit, Trisha can't help but feel a little jealous. Usagi was obviously heavily in love with the man. Good ones always got snatched up. "So this is the infamous Ranma, the government seems very keen to find you. Though I guess being a Kami would make you hard to track down if you didn't want to be found." Trisha wanted to be skeptical, really she did. However there was a man floating in front of her on a pillar of light and sporting a halo of fire. "So what are your own plans? Do you believe you and the Senshi have been doing the right thing? What does the future look like for you?"
Ranma is the picture of relaxed confidence, hand held entwined with Usagi's, "I would sure like to think we've been doing the right thing. Can you really argue with a group that's done nothing but fight energy sucking monsters and slaying ancient gods of darkness in order to protect the entire planet? Doesn't really sound like the actions of an evil group to me. Honestly, from here on we really just want to be at peace. Settle our people, grow a bit, and continue to protect the Earth from anyone that would do us harm."
"And what is your role specifically in all of this? Don't tell me the girls are doing all the work here." That at least gets a few chuckles from the crowd, Ranma and Usagi as well.
Ranma shrugs, "My job is to support my wife as much as possible. If there's something she wants done that I can provide, then I will."
Here Trisha's eyes narrow, the biggest question on many minds finally having a chance to come out, "You'll provide what she wants is it? So then, what if she desires rule over Earth? Is that within your power?"
Shaking his head however, Ranma's smile dims just a bit. "First, Serenity would never ask for that. She wants nothing more than for everyone to live peaceful happy lives. Subjugating them would go against that. Second, part of my job is to make sure she stays on a good path, much as she does for me. We check and balance each other."
"Hmmm, if you're meant to check her, then does that mean you're stronger than her as a Kami?"
Ranma can't help the snort that escapes him. The idea of being stronger than Usagi was ludicrous, "While I could probably crack a planet in half if I really truly tried, Usagi can re-write the very stars. Power wise there really isn't much of a competition."
"Hmm, so the wife is the stronger one here. Isn't that a little emasculating?"
Usagi's the one who sits up a bit straighter, a frown creasing her brow just slightly. "My husband is more of a man than any other on this planet, watch your mouth."
Ranma calms her a bit with a grin and a hand over her own, "Honestly it isn't. How others perceive my masculinity isn't my problem and I'm comfortable enough with myself to do whatever I wish. I know who I am. And my wife certainly does as well."
Trisha releases the breath she and many others behind her had unconsciously held as Usagi honed hard eyes towards her. That was truly terrifying. "I well. Well we are running short on time, but one last question for Serenity-sama. Why come clean about everything now after all this time? You've been operating in the shadows for two or three years now, why not go back underground and continue that trend?"
Usagi eventually relaxes and sighs as she remembered the 'unruly child event' as they were dubbing it. Snotty brats. "I didn't have much of a choice in the matter after the latest fiasco and accidentally coming out to the world as we did. The Diet had Ranma's identity and was making rather, forceful, demands of him and us through him. So, we've been moving to protect ourselves as much as we can." Usagi held up a hand and inspected her nails a bit, "We won't be forced into anything."
Trisha however is curious, she hadn't heard that the Diet had already started moving. "What do you mean by that? Has the Diet been in contact with you already?"
Ranma nods, "Oh yeah. My family home was under constant surveillance, we ended up having a few meetings even where they wanted more information than I could give. There were more than a few thinly veiled threats, both to my family and my friends all to try and influence the Senshi that I wasn't going to put up with. So I've moved all of my family off of Earth." Here Ranma grins, "Trust me. Moving away was the better option. No one wants to think about what would have happened if someone had gotten trigger happy with my family."
Usagi picks up on that, "While I do want and strive for peace, I don't take kindly to political manipulation of any sort." Smiling sweetly and looking directly at Trisha, the reporter can't shake the feeling that she's looking at the very face of death at the moment, "Ranma likes to describe us as the iron fist and the silk glove. I'd like to say he's the silk when it comes to protecting our family." From the wings Setsuna and Hotaru walk out confidently, Hotaru stopping at Ranma's side as Setsuna leans down to whisper in Usagi's ear. There is muttering among the crowd that the group ignores. Usagi nods and a more normal smile graces her face, "I'm sorry, but we must be going." Standing along with Ranma, the Queen bows to the camera, "I hope that the people of Japan who have housed me all this time live well from here on out. Thank you for supporting us all this time. I hope your lives can remain peaceful well into the future." With a wave as she stands straight, Ranma pulls away as the Senshi vanish with little fanfare. Gasps rise up among the audience, while Ranma just shakes his head at Setsuna's antics.
Ranma himself just salutes the staff as his wings appear in a flash of fire, "Stay out of trouble will ya? The Senshi will still be around defending Tokyo as much as they can. Though there'll be a little extra flare from time to time." Wings flaring, he's gone in an explosion of harmless fire in the next breath, leaving the studio alone and somehow much dimmer than before.
Left alone and somehow, satiated in a way she couldn't describe, Trisha turns fully to the camera to end the segment. "That was our exclusive interview with the Moon Queen Sailor Moon and her husband Ranma Saotome, Phoenix King. What say you viewers? Do we believe them and is Japan truly safe? Will the Diet handle things properly from here out. I, much as you, await the future with hope."

Having watched the broadcast, it was a quiet Masaki family and friends who mulled over the potential consequences of the Queen of the Moon going public. Washu was of course, the most vocal right away. The diminutive bushy red head had a grin on her face, "I wonder. Did he start out as a Kami, or was he human at first? I'd love to experiment on him." Even she could tell there was much more to him than the eyes could see. Fascinating really. Deadly for sure.
Her daughter Ryoko, tall with cyan hair and pointed elf like ears scoffed and leaned into her love interest Tenchi, "He's got nothing on Tenchi, bet we could swat him around and test if he's really a Kami or not." Though human in appearance besides her ears, the inhuman part of her inside felt, something, when Ranma appeared on screen. Something about him just screamed danger and she didn't like it. Not that she would admit it, ever.
Behind them all and carrying a tray of snacks, the youngest of the group Sasami walked in from the kitchen and placed her tray down at the coffee table, wiping her hands on her pink apron she still had stars in her eyes. "I knew Sailor Moon was real! I wonder if we can meet her one day? One off worlder group to another?" She had been following the magical girl group for a long time now, having had a lot of free time between cooking and cleaning. Red eyes turn to her older brother however, who clears his throat.
Yosho, the exiled Juraian prince and currently head of the Masaki family, gained everyone's attention, "While this may seem exciting, there is a danger here as well. Now that the original inhabitants of this system have resurfaced, Jurai will be here to make their official claim to the galactic senate." He knew his father, and just knew he wouldn't pass up the chance to cause trouble for Earth.
Tenchi's other love interest, the current Princess of Jurai Ayeka and older sister to Sasami, a long purple haired and red eyed beauty who was currently trying to shove Ryoko far away from Tenchi himself. "Do you really think father would try something like that Yosho?"
Yosho, aged though he was, played with his beard with a mirthful grin, "Our father? Absolutely. You know his temper as well as I do." He pauses again as he thinks about how best to explain some of the politics behind Earth's solar system. "Before your time, even when I was much younger, grandfather had actually had a conflict with this system's previous Queen. It was a bit one sided in the end actually, the Silver Queen had no problems in sending the Juraian fleets packing. However now that the new Queen is here and rebuilding that means Jurai's claim to this system is null. That also means all of the Juraians currently here might be out of luck, including us."
On the other couch, one busty blonde with bushy hair and tanned skin was attacking the snacks with gusto while her galaxy police partner, the prim and professional Kiyone did her best to try and make the ditsy girl show some restraint. She failed, and ended up having to flip her green hair over her shoulder as she addressed Yosho, "Do you think that'll lead to a conflict? Myself and Mihoshi are the only Galaxy Police officers here. That's not something we could mediate. Perhaps we should call this in?" They were already on thin ice after the last fiasco they had all been through. Earth's system was supposed to be considered a backwater system. She would have never considered that it might be the hotbed of activity it was turning out to be.
The elder Masaki shook his head, "I pray not. I do not believe it would go well for Jurai. While young, this new Queen holds power, enough that even I can feel it." His thoughts turned inward, also considering that the young man with her, Ranma, had a strong connection with the Earth. He wasn't just boasting that he was a Kami. Yosho could tell that much.
Tenchi turned to face his grandfather fully, "But didn't that Serenity and Ranma both mention that they want nothing but peace? They want to protect the Earth, so why would that possibly lead to conflict with Jurai?"
"The problem, grandson, is that they represent a shift in power, both globally here and universally among the stars. No one on Earth could ever hope to truly control her if she desired power, and that will always worry Earth governments. While to the rest of the universe, Jurai especially, might have some chance to stand against her, but she's also a product of the only Empire that had stood against the Juraian's expansion and warded them off at the time."
Ayeka sees where Yosho is going with this and nods with a sigh, "Father might try to stamp her out in some misguided belief she hasn't grown into her power yet."
Washu, now floating along on one of her pillow cushions, had her arms crossed with a thoughtful look on her own face, "That'd be a bad idea. Because if Jurai does fail, that might give her incentive to build up her military instead of relying on peace. And that husband of hers definitely doesn't look like a pushover." Washu gets an idea quickly, fist smacking into an open palm, "Why don't we go and visit her on the Moon? We know where the palace is, we can take Ryo-oki or Kiyone's cruiser to make it more official."
Ryoko watched her chibified mother warily, "Does that really sound like a good idea? Just some random gawkers showing up to a literal Moon Queen's palace?"
"What's the worst that can happen?"
"Never, ever say that again. Remember Kagato put you on ice for a few thousand years."
Tenchi however looked to his grandfather, "It might give us a chance to get ahead of a problem, maybe we could be a go between for Earth and Jurai?"
"This is a stage you aren't ready for yet Tenchi. This isn't a battle of muscle, but of mind."
Ayeka beamed, pulling Tenchi to her side, "That is why this princess shall aid him in his endeavor if this is what he desires."
Ryoko was quick to start pulling on his other arm, "Watch is prissy pants, you'll only get in the way if he takes you."
"Oh like a brute like you knows anything about politics?"
"Nooo, but I know how to blow things up."
"You monster woman that's the opposite of helping!"
"Politicians deserve to be blown up, it's a public service."
Yosho watches them all quietly as the argument begins to devolve into the usual bickering between the princess and the space pirate. He could step in, head them off of this course. But perhaps he shouldn't, not this time. It could be a valuable lesson for them, one way or another. Tenchi wouldn't let any permanent harm come to any of the girls. He'd keep an eye on them, just in case.

On the Moon itself Ranma is walking along a busy hall. Offering quiet waves to Moon palace staff and functionaries, Ranma is making his way to the throne room. Setsuna had mentioned that it might be a good idea to walk the halls and meet people occasionally and Usagi had agreed with her. So here he was, making his way along as he familiarized himself with the people. Ranma had to admit, a good portion of the citizens removed from stasis definitely had more south and south east Asian features. But there was a smattering others here and there, some looking like they might have come from India or maybe a bit more west. Or he guessed, these people would be there ancestors? Stasis and reincarnation messed with his head a bit.
To his side and bumping into him while walking in the same direction, it is an amused Rei in her Senshi Mars uniform that breaks his chain of thought, "Careful, looked like you were thinking kind of hard there."
"I was a little. What brings you out?"
"Just a couple of updates for Usagi from the few members of our old military that we had left. Apparently the inner world military was my field of knowledge. What about you?" Rei idly pulled some of her hair behind her ear to keep eye contact with him.
Ranma shrugged, "Just wanted to check on her before getting back to work on Venus." Idly he noticed that the people around them were easily making way for them. Apparently their status was easily recognizable by now. Wonderful.
Rei grins, "I saw the broadcast, it looked good. Setsuna has already been getting messages from aids and functionaries of members of the Diet."
Ranma nods, "We knew that would happen. We wanted to get public opinion on our side early, before anyone else could try spinning things their way." They turn a corner, the hallway emptying out as they make their way into the throne room, "Time will tell if it does us any good or not." The space was as wide open as always, though Usagi is not alone at the throne. Haruka and Michiru are standing guard today. Usagi is as usual, complaining about work.
"This is no fair! I thought I had all of you to unload work on? Why does it seem like the more work I give out the more work I somehow get shouldered with?" She was all the same working through it as she could. Fingers scrolling or typing away on her holographic terminal, "I need an office, not a throne."
Rei speaks up, smirk in place, "I don't know meatball head, I think the throne suits you just fine."
Usagi looks up, a pout on her face, "Oh c'mon Rei! Have a heart!" Looking around her friend she spies her love, "Ranma! Here to wisk me away like my knight in shining armor?" Eyes shining, she's hopeful.
Ranma walks forward and up the steps, eventually leaning in to kiss her on the forehead much to her love and disappointment, "No can do. We have too much work to get done. I wanted to check on you before visiting my own people."
Usagi sighs and leans back, dismissing her terminal for a moment, "How are they?"
Ranma shrugs, "I've split them into two groups. One group is on Venus with some simple instructions. It boils down to be fruitful and multiply, enjoy yourselves and your lives. The second group remained in China and is to protect my seat of power, and pretty much do the same as the first group. I did explain to them that my seat of power is all of Earth, but they seem to have taken that literally and have decided to never leave Phoenix mountain unless I order them." He knew they could be zealots about his rule, but this was a bit much. It was at least a good thing that the Venus group had no problem with Kiima leading them. Though he was a little worried about whispers of her being a chosen one. He'd have to look into that.
Usagi is giggling however over his issues with the Phoenix. "I bet if left alone your people will probably swell in population well before my people do. They did just get an order from their Kami to do just that."
"Yeah, ya know you're probably right. Me and my big mouth."
Rei is smirking as she comes to stand close to them, "You know Mars has a few large mountains as well, maybe we could do the same as Minako?" She knew exactly what she was asking for, and she knew Ranma and Usagi both knew it as well.
Usagi however was the first to blush, "Maybe we could make that trip, together, ya know, to see if it'll work." She wasn't a pervert, no no she wasn't. She was just curious was all. That Haruka snorted heavily next to her followed by a slap from Michiru didn't help her mindset. She was distracted however as her terminal flashed a warning. Pulling up her display again as Ranma came around to her side, she watched as a communication warning scrolled across her screen. "That's weird. I have a staff now that handles communications, no one should be able to reach me directly anymore."
"Maybe it's Minako from the Venus Palace?" Rei was hopeful. Usagi shaking her head put that to rest however.
"No, it's coming from out of system." Shrugging she opened the channel. Wasn't going to get answers waiting. A video feed opened up, a pale faced woman with silver hair and green adornments on her cheeks. Her eyes are dark, and on her forehead is some kind of ornament that reminded Usagi of long feathers, though these were solid orange. Usagi tried to keep her face neutral, "This is Queen Serenity of the Moon Kingdom, who is this?"
"My apologies." The voice is deep and clear, a mature woman's voice. She bows to Usagi, "I am Lady Tokimi. I felt your power and that of your love, and wanted to reach out to you. One Goddess to another."
This raises Usagi's eyebrows in some surprise. So there were other's with power like her out there. That shouldn't have surprised her really. "And what is this about?"
Inwardly smirking, Tokimi did her best not to show anything other than curiosity on her face. "I have a warning for you. I am not the only one who has felt you awaken. My…sisters and their champion, will come for you."
Usagi looked up to Ranma, who's eyes had hardened just a bit. It didn't take any probing for him to offer his opinion. "Guess we've gone from one crazy arena to another." He looked down to one of his wives with nothing but love in his heart, "I'm here with you."
Usagi nodded, turning back to Tokimi, "Well then." Here her tone and demeanor sank into what she had termed her Serenity mode, "Tell me everything."

Ya'll, I'm not going to lie. I've had a lot of fun with this story. But, admittedly, I think it suffered a bit. My Two major stories, this one and my current Legion of Naruto story I decided to try writing in two different ways. One was more freeform, write each chapter as I go. While the other was more structured, outlined several chapters in advance and then fleshed them out. This story was the more freeform one, and I think it didn't do so well because of that. Granted, I went into this one with the idea that I wanted a more, laid back and comical story for Ranma working through his problems and coming into his own. I think I got that down, but well, I feel like I could have done a better job. Instead of deleting it however, I think I'll leave it as it. I still enjoyed this and loved writing it. But for the eventual part 2, I'll have something a little more concrete laid out. Time will tell.
Part 2 will be a sailor moon/tenchi muyo cross. Power scaling wise it makes a little more sense in terms of now there's more than one goddess who can technically re-write the very universe. Though Ranma does have Tenchi outclassed in like, every way, so we'll see how that goes. It'll be a while. I've also decided I'm only going to do one major story at a time from now on. I might add in one shots from time to time to break up big stories, but again, I want to be able to focus properly. I don't want my work to suffer.
So, if you've enjoyed this story, I'm truly happy you did. The sensual outtakes have a lot of updates coming, and the next installment will come though there's no timeline as of yet. Thanks for being along for the ride, and I'll see you all next time.
