Nestled deep within the heart of Faron Woods, the resistance camp sprawled across a secluded forest grove, hidden from prying eyes by a thick canopy of trees. Makeshift tents dotted the area, their patchwork fabric blending seamlessly with the surrounding foliage. The camp was full of individuals from all over Hyrule—Zoras, Gorons, Hylians, and Gerudos—each united by a common cause. The air buzzed with the hum of activity as warriors sharpened their blades beside former merchants who now trained with bows, and farmers who had traded in their plows for swords, practiced their stances. This hidden sanctuary had become a haven for the brave souls who still dared to fight against Ganondorf's tyranny.
Rusl steps into the central tent used for meetings, his eyes scanning the familiar faces. Enzlo, a seasoned knight, was already seated, busy sharpening his sword.
"Rusl," Enzlo greeted, his voice gravelly yet warm. "Good to see you. How were things back in Ordon?"
Rusl sighs, "Tense, but the people remain resilient. Uli and Colin are well, they are helping to harvest squash this week. We should get a decent crop."
Enzlo grunt in approval. "Good, we can always use more food for the army." He sheathed his sword and gestured for everyone to gather around. "Alright, let's get started."
While we had been talking, the rest of our inner circle had made their way into the tent. There was Ria, a skilled archer from Kakariko Village, her piercing gaze never missing a detail. Beside her stood Daruk, a towering Goron warrior, his presence reassuringly solid. Next to him was Mizu, a fierce, lithe Zora warrior, her every movement graceful and precise.
"Thank you all for coming," Rusl began, his voice steady but laced with urgency. "We have much to discuss. Ganondorf's grip on Hyrule is tightening. Just last month, we were cut down trying to free Zelda from the castle. It's only a matter of time before Ganondorf finds out the location of our camp and sends his knights to finish us off."
Suddenly, a soft rustling of the tent flap makes them all tense. Rusl's hand instinctively went to his sword, but before he could draw it, a familiar face entered.
"Easy, it's just me," said the voice. It was Amara, one of Ganondorf's knights, turned traitor, her tone laced with an edge of sarcasm. "Sorry I'm late. Got held up with patrol."
Enzlo's eyes narrowed slightly, his suspicion evident despite their previous collaboration. "Good to see you, Amara. We've just been discussing our next moves."
Amara joined the circle, her sharp eyes scanning the group. "What's the plan?"
Rusl took a deep breath, his gaze sweeping over his comrades. "We need to start dealing with Ganondorf's knights systematically. They are his strength, and without them, he will be vulnerable."
Enzlo nodded, his expression serious. "You're right. And we start with Dark. I have intel that he is being sent to Ordon Village to look for you, Rusl. We need to trap him there."
Rusl's eyes flash to Enzlo, widened with concern.
Ria leaned in, her eyes gleaming. "Dark executed Renado when we resisted. We have to make sure he pays for that."
Daruk's eyes narrowed with curiosity. "Who will help us set this trap? They don't need to be strong enough to kill him, just strong enough to hold him off so we can ambush him. " His deep voice rumbled like distant thunder.
Rusl crossed his arms, deep in thought. "I know someone who can hold their own against Dark and lure him into a trap. He's very private and prefers to keep his identity secret. He's strong, cunning, and has a personal grudge against Ganondorf's forces."
Mizu stepped forward, her voice calm and measured. "How do we contact this warrior? Can we trust him?"
Rusl nodded. "We can trust him. I'll send a messenger tonight."
Amara's eyes flashed with determination, and a hint of regret. "We need to be strategic. Dark is no fool. He'll suspect a trap if we're not careful."
Enzlo, still wary, asked, "How do we know you won't warm him? You've helped us before, yes, but how can we be sure your loyalties won't shift again?"
Amara met his gaze steadily. "I'm tired of being a pawn. I want to fight for something real. For a future where I'm not haunted by my past actions."
Ria added, her voice soft but firm, "We need to be prepared for anything. Dark will bring his best. So must we."
Rusl nodded, a plan forming in his mind. "Alright. We'll use my contact to set the trap. We'll need to coordinate carefully to ensure Dark is isolated and outnumbered."
Enzlo looked around the group, his expression serious. "We have to be ready for anything. This is our chance to strike a significant blow against Ganondorf."
Daruk clenched his fists "Let's do this. For Hyrule."
