Even though the focus of this story is Yuri and Selena, we still have the Lancers as another major player as well. Let's go back to see how they are doing now.

Spiral 11: Trapped
"Hold on, so we don't really need to do that?" Masumi questions the strange objective the leader of the Lancers just gave out. "Shouldn't it make your job easier?"
"Academia knows we're advancing while we're in there anyway." Reiji calmly explains. "You, Yuya and Yugo just need to get Yuzu and Rin and bolt out of the place as soon as possible; but if things do go south, we're going to need a little advantage of the dark."
"Well, whatever you say…" Masumi rolls her eyes and sighs.
"Alright, so that's pretty much the plan, any questions?" Reiji asks the fellow Lancers, taking a long look at each one of them. They all either keep staring at the hologram of Academia or give a knowing look at the leader.
"No? Good, let's have a rest-"
"Wait." A young male voice speaks up. Everyone looks at him.
"Sora?" Yuya notes.
"Sorry it's just… I just remember… something about Academia."
"What about them?" Ryoga questions.
Taking a deep breath to compose himself, Sora looks at everyone before saying. "Before I completely deflected from Academia, which is roughly the same time as Rin and Ruri escaped, I have heard rumors about the inner circle of Academia. Someone in there can control the mind of people, forcing them do to things against their will."
"Mind control?" Yuto says incredulously, unable to believe what Sora just said. "That's… pretty ridiculous don't you think?"
"After we saw how technology destroys the Xyz dimension, everything is possible now." Yusho gives a very good point. "Science is that marvellous."
"Yuri." Reiji talks to the tied boy. "Do you have any idea about this?"
"No." The Fusion boy shakes his head. "I don't know. And even if there really is someone who can do mind control in Academia, I wasn't privy to any of the details either." He turns back to the sleeping Selena, shuddered about the possibility of that happening to her. Another reason to loathe the place he used to belong.
"Asuka?"
Asuka shakes her head. "Sorry, no idea either."
"So… you mean that…" Ruri speaks up, hugging her arms tight to stop the shiver of thinking what could have been done to her. "After Rin and I escaped, Academia wants to make sure a similar thing will not repeat again if they get us back somehow." Sora nods.
"And now they got Yuzu and Rin…" Jack darkly notes. "I don't think this rescue mission is gonna be easy…"
"No…" Yuya shakes his head, refusing to believe it. "No I don't believe it…! Like you said it's just a rumor right, Sora? They wouldn't do anything to hurt the essential pieces of their ARC Area Project or whatever right?!"
On the other side, Yugo silently absorbs all of the information, a hard and wavered look visible on his face. After everything he and Rin went through, a hard childhood, being separated for a long time because of Yuri, reunited only to lose her again, Yugo does not want to even think about that anymore.
"I hope so Yuya." Yugo finally manages to say, the grimness in his tone cannot escape as he wants. "But seeing what Academia is capable of, I don't think we can write that off the list…"
Yuya tiredly looks down to the ground, completely fearful of what could be done to Rin and his precious Yuzu…
"Mind…"
"Control…"
"Mind… control…"
"Mind control…"
The words of the Death-Toy user ring in Yuya's head repeatedly, waking him up from the slumber of aquatic depth. Realizing where he is right now, the entertainment Duelist nearly chokes on the dirty water as he frantically moves his arms and legs to get out of that hellhole as fast as possible. Luckily, the way up to the surface is pretty short for his sake.
"Yuya?!" Masumi speaks from the hallway.
"Masumi? You're okay?" Yuya asks, noticing the bandages on her body.
"I'm fine." She reassures him.
At the same time, Yugo surfaces from the water of the sewer.
"Yugo!" Yuya quickly swims over and helps both of them off the water. Masumi grabs their hands and pulls the two boys up. In contrast of the battered-up Masumi, Yuya and Yugo suffered no visible outer wounds, no doubt thanks to whatever dark force is inside them.
All three of them look at each other, a look of defeat on their faces.
"So…" Masumi speaks up.
"Yeah…" Yugo says without any sort of energy. "Guess Sora was right…"
"Screw them…!" Yuya grunts. "They're gonna pay for that! Did you contact the others Masumi?"
"No, Academia blocked off the signal." Masumi answers. "I turned off the connection to avoid being tracked in here, hope the others does the same."
Yuya and Yugo quickly turn to their still wet Duel Disk and turn the radio function off. The three teenagers then take their Duel Disks off their arms and remove their wet jackets before shaking off as much water from them as possible and tying them over their waists. While all wearing black trousers for ease of travel, Yuya still has his usual orange T-shirt on, Yugo has switched to a black one before hopping to the Fusion dimension and Masumi wears a white tank-top beneath the blue jacket.
"When they hijacked us though, Akaba Leo spoke." Masumi reveals as she shakes her head to remove water in her hair.
"What? Akaba Leo?!" Yugo gasps. "That bastard?"
"What did he say?" Yuya inquires.
"He said that…" Masumi pauses, unsure of whether to say the rest or not. She has finished tying her hair into a high bun.
"That what Masumi?" Yugo presses.
"That…" Masumi sighs. "Ruri screwed everything up."
"Ruri?!" Yuya speaks out, disbelief visible on his face. "What does he mean about Ruri?"
"I don't know. I don't trust those words. But based on his tone, I guess Academia have found out where Jack, Tsukikage, Yuri, Selena and Ruri are."
"Goddammit!" Yuya slams his fist to the crackled wall. "Yuzu and Rin are probably brainwashed, Academia found out about Ruri and Selena, we are cut off from each other, what worse can it get?"
"Either way, it wasn't that long when Yuzu and Rin did… that." Yugo trails off. "They should be near here; we better still stick to the plan."
"And a bit of plan B as well while we're at it." Masumi suggests. "I know they might have laid a trap if we try to get Yuzu and Rin again already, but there is no choice. So, better disrupt as many things of theirs as possible."
"Yeah…" Yuya notes as the three gets up. "Control room. Not too far from here."

"Alright, we're set."
Yuya calls the others to get out of the control room after the three stuck many cards to the control terminal blocks. As soon as they close the door and crouch down, Yuya touches a button on the screen of his Duel Disk. A big explosion occurs inside, the ground shakes violently, debris hit the door and leaves a big dent in the middle of it.
"Control room's done, the hijacking should be gone and the cameras should be off for some time."
Yuya turns on his Duel Disk.
"Everyone, do you copy?"
Static.
"I repeat, does any Lancer copy?"
Continuous static.
"Ah come on-"
"I got you."
"Copy."
"Finally some connection after Academia hijacked us!"
Multiple voices come out from the Duel Disk.
"Glad to hear you guys back as well."
"Situation report." Reiji orders. "I'm with Asuka and Yusho-san. We got through their forces and are advancing inside."
"Yuya here, I have Yugo and Masumi with me."
"Yuto here, I'm with Gongenzaka, Sora and Ryoga. We're stuck in the forest training field after Academia got us trapped. They sent out a lot of soldiers to track us."
"Stay strong and get out of there. Report when you're done."
"Copy that." Yuto answers.
"Reiji, do you hear me?" Yuya speaks up.
"I hear you Yuya." Reiji's voice comes out. "What happened on your end?"
"We destroyed the control room, that should give us some breathing room to advance in the dark."
"Good. How about Yuzu and Rin?"
"Unfortunately, Sora was right…" He says hesitantly. "They turned on us and ran away."
"Dammit…!" Reiji sighs.
"They should not be too far from us." Yuya quickly says. "We're getting them back now. We know it's probably a trap but we don't have another option."
"I got it. Yuya."
"Yeah?"
"From what my asshole of a father said, our hideout in Nagasaki is probably busted."
"I know…" He sadly remarks. "But there's nothing we can do for them now, they gotta deal with it on their own. And I trust them."
"Indeed. We have to trust each other now, you got it?"
"I got it."
"Good luck Yuya, everyone." And the radio chatter is off.
Yuya turns to Yugo and Masumi with renewed determination. "All right, let's get Yuzu and Rin back."
"Man, this place surely is big!" Yugo speaks through his short, rapid breathings as he runs in the big hallway.
"Where the hell are they though?" Masumi asks the real question, just as tired as the boys.
"Dunno, but you guys notice that?" Yuya says.
"Yeah." Masumi nods. "The whole place seems to be quiet so far."
Indeed, as after the three gets upstairs again to the ground floor, instead of the usual Academia soldiers patrolling nearby, there was no one to be found. A clear sign of a trap incoming.
"They must be focusing on Yuto's group right now." Yugo speculates. "That's why it is empty."
"Or worse…" Masumi darkly notes.
"Either way, they know we're advancing, they must-" Yuya cuts himself off as he hears a strange noise. The three quickly hushes over the corner of the wall.
Some kind of door opening sound, then closing.
"You hear that?" Yuya whispers.
"Yeah…" Yugo peeks out and notices a big door on the other side of the wall. "A big automatic, steel door."
"That must be it." Masumi says. "Yuzu and Rin are probably inside."
"Let's go."
The three come out of the corner and slowly approach the door.
"There's the control panel." Yuya points at it.
"I got it." Masumi steps forward and inserts a card into her Duel Disk. A transparent right-handed glove with five fingerprints on the top of each finger materializes. The girl puts it on her hand and touches the screen of the panel.
The system recognizes the fingerprint as registered and the door slowly opens, revealing some kind of laboratory with all of the equipment befitted for it inside.
Yuya and Yugo step in first, as soon as they get in, something above them suddenly crashes down right in front of the door. Masumi jumps back in instinct and gets separated from the two boys.
"A metal fence?" Yuya realizes as he gets up. The steel door then closes, completely blocking Masumi out of the room.
"Shit!" Yugo runs to the door. "Masumi!"
They can hear Masumi bangs the door from the other side. "I'm okay Yuya, Yugo! But now we're cut off… what?"
"What's wrong?" Yuya wonders. "Oi Masumi! What's going on outside?"
"They're outside…" Masumi says cautiously. "Academia…"
"Masumi!" Yugo yells. "Get outta here!"
"They have me surrounded Yugo." Masumi answers. "I'll try to hold them off! You two proceed!"
"Masumi!"
"Now!"
"Shit!" Yugo angrily bangs the fence, closing his eyes in anguish. He can hear the sound of multiple Duel Disks activating.
"C'mon Yugo…" Yuya touches Yugo's shoulder after a moment of silence. "We have to trust each other, let's keep moving…"
"Yeah…" Yugo breathes. They look forward and walk through the laboratory.
When they step in the middle of the lab, they hear footsteps from the dark from two different directions. The two boys stand with their backs touching each other and tense themselves up, preparing for any trouble.
Two individuals step out from the dark corner.
"No way…" Yuya whispers. "Yuzu…?"
"Rin…?" Yugo similarly cannot hide his shock.
Their faces are neutral and emotionless, they stand still in their places, not doing anything. The non-emotive look on their faces combined with the severe lack of lighting of the laboratory only lit up by the card-shaped green clusters in several big cylinders really creep the two boys out. Before they know it, nervousness rises up in their minds.
"Yuzu…" Yuya speaks up hesitantly, looking at her burned body before eyeing her directly in the face. "Is that you?"
"Rin…" Yugo manages. "Why are you… standing there? Let's get outta here…!"
"Yugo's right Yuzu! Let's get out of Academia!"
Ignoring their words, Yuzu goes to the right side of the wall and touches a red button on it. Something resembling a wall suddenly lights up, leaving Yuya and Yugo with no other choice but to move away from each other. The wall completely materializes, blocking the Entermate user and the Speedroid boy away.
"Oh great…!" Yuya breathes. "Yugo! You hear me?"
"I do Yuya, looks like we really got into a trap now." Despite the situation, Yuya can hear a chuckle from Yugo.
"Well looks like it is, let's fight!" Yuya turns back to Yuzu. The girl attaches an Academia Duel Disk and activates it, the purple arrow-shaped blade appears out of thin air.
"Let's duel now Yuya." Yuzu says in an emotionless tone. "I will beat you up until you beg for death."
"As if I'll let it happen!" Yuya activates his own Duel Disk. "I'll remove whatever Academia did to you and make the real Hiragi Yuzu return!"
"Field Magic, Cross Over." The signature Field Magic of the Lancers activates, a bubble containing cards appears above the ground before disintegrating, sending the cards around everywhere. At the same time, several blue energy platforms materialize above as well.

"I take the first turn." Yuzu declares. "Since I control no monsters, I activate 1st Movement Solo. I can bring out a Level 4 or lower "Melodious" monster from my Deck. Come! Aria!"

"And with a "Melodious" monster on the field, I can bring out Melodious Diva Canon as well."

"2 level 4 monsters… and no Tuner monster…" Yuya notes. "Is it coming?"
"I, using the Level 4 Melodious Diva Aria and Canon, overlay!" The Overlay Network opens, welcoming the materials inside.
"Singer of the bright stage, become the brightest star in the sky with your heavenly voice! Xyz Shōkan!" A pillar of light shoots out.
"Appear now, Rank 4! Melodious Maestra Brahmsa!" Coming out of the network is a tall female monster wearing a brilliant purple and black long dress with dark blue accents. Its wavy purple hair further adds up to its elegance.

"Brahmsa's monster effect! By detaching an Overlay Unit." One of the purple energy orbs orbiting around the monster disintegrates. "You take damage equal to Brahmsa's attack power!"
Yuya quickly activates his Roller Boots before Yuzu finishes declaring the burn effect, a big purple energy wheel appears from the bottom of each boot. He aims for the lowest platform on his far left and tries to grab an Action Card laid there. Before he can get to it though, Brahmsa's hand blast gets to him first, knocking him off the ground.

"Shit…" Yuya grunts as he gets up. "2400 damage right off the bat… you're really that merciless aren't you Yuzu?"
"I set down one card, turn end."
Deactivating the one-wheel roller skate, Yuya grabs the platform and gets up.
"Ore no turn!" He draws his card.
"This card…!" Yuya takes notice of his drawn card. "My hand's not really great right now, I need to use this to get it out and make my play… But Reiji warns me not to use it…!"
"What's up?" Yuzu speaks. "Not having the gut of a duelist to duel? You said you wanted to make the real me return, but where is that conviction now?" She cruelly mocks him.
Clenching his teeth in dismay, Yuya looks back to the Real Solid Vision wall.
"Yugo! How are things on your end?" He calls his friend.
"Not that great Yuya!" Yugo responds. "Rin burns me quite a lot!"
"You bring out your dragon?"
"I'm trying not to, but it's not gonna be easy."
"I don't really have another option right now so…" Yuya admits.
"Fine, I'll hold things off on my end, you do what you have to do!"
"Do what I have to do huh…?" Yuya takes a deep breath and looks at Yuzu, trying to remember the smile she used to give to him, the warmth he feels when she is near.
"Magic Card, Spiral Strike Burst activate!" Yuya makes his move. "I can add a Level 7 "Odd-Eyes" monster from my Deck to my hand."
"Then, I, using the Scale 2 Entermate Drumming Kong and Scale 8 Timegazer Magician, Pendulum Scale setting!" As soon as Yuya puts each card on each end of the blade, the colorful word "PENDULUM" appears on it. Two light blue pillars of light appears besides him and in each of it, a monster Yuya just placed floats up.
"With this, I can summon Level 3 or 7 monsters." A pendulum appears and swings.
"Swing, Pendulum of the Soul! Draw an arc of light across the ether! Pendulum Shōkan!"
"Appear now, my monsters!" Two streams of energy fly down and from into two monsters.
"Synthesis Magician, and then the dragon with dual-colored eyes, Odd-Eyes Pendulum Dragon!" A female monster wearing a white eyepatch holding a dark pink bow and the signature dragon of Yuya appear.

A dark calling rises from his body, Yuya can feel it slowly suffocating him from the inside. Luckily, Yugo did not seem to bring out Clear Wing yet as the sensation is still pretty weak. The entertainment Duelist takes a deep breath and shakes his head slightly to regain focus.
"Odd-Eyes Pendulum Dragon…" Yuzu dryly remarks. "I see, you brought out your ace monster right off the bat."
"That's right, I didn't want to use it again after what happened at the Xyz dimension, but to bring you back, I will!"
"Stop that shit!" Yuzu cuts him off. "I don't care what you are talking about!"
"Synthesis Magician's monster effect!" The female monster readies its bow and fires an arrow at the ground near Odd-Eyes. "It can copy another monster's attack power in this turn."
Synthesis Magician ATK 500 - 2500
"Battle! Odd-Eyes Pendulum Dragon, attack Melodious Maestra Brahmsa!" The monster hops up using its legs and charges red energy in its mouth.
"At this moment, Drumming Kong's Pendulum effect! Odd-Eyes gains 600 ATK in this Battle Phase!"
Odd-Eyes Pendulum Dragon ATK 2500 - 3100
"Spiral Strike Burst!" Odd-Eyes fires the energy at Yuzu's monster, engulfing it in the red stream.
"Trap Card, Melodious Blessing." Yuzu counters. "This time, Brahmsa is not destroyed and I can draw a card." A pink bubble manifests around the monster, protecting it.
"However, damage will still be taken!" Yuya reminds. "And from this point on, Odd-Eyes doubles all battle damage without giving a care about the Level of the monster it battles! Reaction Force!"
Hiragi Yuzu LP 4000 - 2600 [ ] x3
"Huh…" Yuzu notes. "Odd-Eyes' effects have changed…?"
"Many things have changed after Academia captured you again Yuzu, we'll talk about them after I get you back. Synthesis Magician, attack Brahmsa!" It shots an arrow right at the heart, destroying Yuzu's Xyz monster."
Hiragi Yuzu LP 2600 - 2500 [ ] x3
"At this moment, Brahmsa's monster effect activates. I can add a "Melodious" Magic or Trap card from my Deck to the hand."
Odd-Eyes Pendulum Dragon ATK 3100 - 2500
"Dammit…! I couldn't get her LP down to 100 like I wanted…" Yuya internally curses to himself.
"I set down one card, turn end!"
"Lancers, come in!" Sora's panicked voice comes out from Yuya's Duel Disk.
"Sora?" Yuya turns the radio on. "What's wrong Sora?"
"Everyone hurry up! We're not doing great on our end! BB, Sanders and the others got us pinned down! Ryoga and Gongenzaka are carded!"
"Shit! Don't give up Sora! We'll provide backup after we get Yuzu and Rin back!"
Static.
"Sora?"
"Sora you hear me?"
Academia has hijacked the signal again.
"Damn!"
"Looks like your friends are having a hard time." Yuzu says with a neutral tone, without any hint of emotion for her friends anymore.
"Uh…" Yuya composes himself. "Sora… and the others… we all come here to save you and Rin. Did Academia make you forget all about us?"
"What are you talking about?"
"Remember us, Yuzu! Remember all of the moments we shared together!"
This seems to work as Yuzu closes her eyes and covers her head while screaming repeatedly in pain.
"Yuzu!" Yuya calls her. "Fight it, don't let whatever Academia did control you!"
"Yuzu please! I beg you to fight it!"
After a long moment of grunting and screaming, Yuzu slowly moves her hands off her head, still keeping her gaze down.
"Yuzu…?" Yuya asks nervously.
She suddenly jolts her head up, her eyes having an angry look.
"Gosh… it didn't work…?!"
"Don't talk any bullshit!" Yuzu says harshly. "Watashi no turn!"
"Yuzu!"
"Magic Card, Ostinato activate! Since I control no monsters, I can Fusion Summon a "Melodious" monster using monsters from my Deck!"
"Using monsters from the Deck as Fusion materials? Just like Masumi…"
Two cards pop out of Yuzu's Deck and she takes them out. "I will use Melodious Diva Tamtam and Melodious Maestra Prodigy Mozart for fusion!" The Fusion spiral opens from behind her.
"Angel's song! Supreme genius! With the guidance of the baton, gather your power! Yūgō Shōkan!" A monster flies out of the spiral.
"Now come here to the stage! Sing the song of victory! Melodious Floral Saint Bloom Diva!" Yuzu's signature Fusion monster appears.

"Hmm." Yuya smirks. "I know you would do that Yuzu!"
"What?"
"Continuous Trap, Entermate Chain activate!" Synthesis Magician turns into a rope and it flies towards Bloom Diva, tying it up and stopping it from doing anything.
"Bloom Diva!"
"By tributing Synthesis Magician, this card prevents the target from attacking and negates its effects as well." Yuya explains.
"Tsk…" Yuzu ticks her tongue. "So you stopped my ultimate play… However, don't forget Tamtam's material effect! Bloom Diva will lose 500 ATK and you take that same amount as damage!" A bolt of light shoots out, Yuya grabs the card in the nearest platform he just missed earlier and uses it.
"Action Magic Acceleration!"
"Action Magic No Action!" Yuzu quickly counters. She has jumped to another platform near her as soon as Yuya made his move and used it as she hopped down.
"What?!"
The bolt hits Yuya in his stomach, nearly sending him to the wall behind.

"You think you can stop my play if you hold Bloom Diva off, don't you?" Yuzu smirks. "How about this? Magic Card, One for One activate. I send a monster from my hand to the grave to bring out a Level 1 monster from my Deck. Come out now, Parasite Fusioner!"
"Parasite Fusioner?" Yuya gets taken by complete surprise at the strange name. A bug-like monster brown monster with a gross tail appears.

"You don't have it in your Deck Yuzu?! Don't tell me Academia used that to…!" Yuya realizes. At the same time Yugo gets hit to the wall.
"Yugo?! You're okay?"
"I'm… I'm fine…" Yuya cannot hear it.
"I think I found the source of Yuzu and Rin's actions!"
"Parasite Fusioner?"
"You know it?!"
"Yeah, Rin used it and brought out a strange Fusion monster. Rin does not use Fusion Summon until now!"
"Then…" Yuya looks back at Yuzu.
"Looks like that idiot got his work cut out for him as well. If Parasite Fusioner is Special Summoned, I can use it and monsters I control for a Fusion Summon!" The spiral opens again.
"Diva of the stage! Combine with the genius of the art and become a supreme power! Yūgō Shōkan!" The hand-clapping pose of Academia Yuzu just did creeps Yuya out much more, further solidifying the proof of Academia's corruption on her.
"Appear now, Level 8! Melodious Floral Saint Bloom Doona!" Surrounded by purple energy, the new monster of Yuzu just screams Academia-made. Bright purple dress, abnormally long conductor baton, creepy smile on the face.

"Parasite Fusioner becomes the equip card for the summoned monster." The disgusting bug attaches itself to Bloom Donna's chest. "And it can send itself to the grave to avoid Bloom Donna's destruction."
"So that's the source of Academia's influence on you huh Yuzu?" Yuya says in a low tone. "Since Bloom Diva leaves the field, Entermate Chain will be destroyed and its another effect shines through! I can gain life point equal to the original attack of the target."
Sakaki Yuya LP 1100 - 2100 [ ] x1
"Then you take the same amount as damage!" A stream of light hits Yuzu, knocking her off the ground.
Hiragi Yuzu LP 2500 - 1500 [ ] x1
"Yuzu!" Yuya yells. "Get up! We've not finished yet!"
"Screw… you…!" Yuzu grunts. "Whatever your trick is, it will not work on me! Bloom Doona can attack twice, and if it attacks a Special Summoned monster, it gains attack power equal to the target's!"
"The hell?!" Yuya gasps.
"Come on, Bloom Donna, attack Odd-Eyes Pendulum Dragon!" It aims the baton and fires a stream of energy at the wingless dragon, causing it to explode.

"With its effect, Bloom Donna can attack again!"
"As if I let it happen!" Yuya slaps down his last card on his hand. "When a monster is destroyed by battle, I can bring out Entermate Barokuriboh from my hand!" A purple two-eyed furry monster wearing a blue regal cloak comes out.

"If I had another monster now, you would be forced to attack Barokuriboh first, but it doesn't matter. Even if you use Bloom Donna's monster effect, its ATK will be only 2100." Yuya reminds."
"Tsk… you managed to survive…? Whatever. I set down one card, turn end."
"Thank you… Barokuriboh." The monster nudges Yuya with its fur gently. "You gave me another chance to bring Yuzu back."
Touching the top card of his Deck, Yuya declares his turn. The pendant on his neck shines brightly.
"Ore no turn!"
He looks at it.
"Yes! This card will do!"
"I, using the set Pendulum Scale, Pendulum Shōkan!" Two streams of light fly down from the portal.
"Appear again, my monsters! Synthesis Magician, Odd-Eyes Pendulum Dragon!"
"And then, from my hand, Magic Card, Odd-Eyes Fusion activate!"
"Odd-Eyes Fusion?" Yuzu remarks.
"I use Odd-Eyes Pendulum Dragon and Entermate Barokuriboh for fusion!" The two monsters turn into energy and join in the spiral appearing behind Yuya.
"Dragon with dual-colored eyes, cute life-saver of the circus! Become one and awaken a new force! Yūgō Shōkan!" The pendant shines brighter and brighter.
"Appear now, the dragon of whirling force! Level 7! Odd-Eyes Vortex Dragon!" A dragon with green and white armor scales comes out. It has four sharp white wings, red and blue eyes.
Odd-Eyes Vortex Dragon WIND/Dragon/Fusion/LV7/2500/3000
"Another dragon you have there…" Yuzu notes to herself (or is she really herself anymore?).
"When Vortex Dragon is Special Summoned, I can return 1 monster in Attack Position to the hand, I choose Bloom Doona!" A vortex manifests around Yuzu's monster. "This effect does not destroy so Parasite Fusioner will do nothing!"
"I won't let it happen! Trap Card, Melodious High Note! For each "Melodious" monster I control, a target of my choice will return to the Deck! I choose Odd-Eyes Vortex Dragon!" A stream of light fires out from the card, aiming at the newly summoned monster.
"It's useless Yuzu!" Yuya counters. "Odd-Eyes Vortex Dragon's another monster effect activates! I shuffle Barokuriboh from the Extra Deck back to the Deck to negate High Note's activation and destroy it! Vortex Spin!" A whirlpool of energy engulfs the trap card, destroying it. Bloom Donna disintegrates and Parasite Fusioner turns into purple dust before disappearing out of thin air.
"Good! Parasite Fusioner is gone along with that monster, now Yuzu's field is empty, just a direct attack and it's all over!" Yuya notes to himself, only to meet with a sneer from the girl.
"Yuzu…?" He wonders.
"What's funny to smile about?"
"Bloom Donna's monster effect activates." She says in a low tone of voice. "I can bring back Bloom Diva from the grave…" The dangerous Fusion monster returns.
"And…" The corners of Yuzu's lips turn upward, forming a wicked smile. "A Battle Phase is forced to conduct this turn…"
"What?!" Yuya gasps in shock as he watches Vortex Dragon charge up energy.
"Vortex Dragon! Stop!" His words are not heeded as the dragon fires a stream of blue energy at Bloom Diva, the small monster blocks it and turns the energy back at the attacking monster, destroying the dragon. The resulting explosion prevents Yuya from using the Action Magic Encore he manages to grab and gets him slammed hard to the wall, losing consciousness.

The last thing he sees before his eyes involuntarily shut completely is the sight of Yuzu and Rin walking away from him out of the lab.
And something coming down from above him…
Wiping the blood dripping out of the corner of her mouth, Masumi moves out of the wall opposite of the metal door that she has been leaning on with a grunt of pain. The heavy smoke at the far corner of the hallway slowly clears out, revealing several Academia foot soldiers lying down unconscious. Brilliant Dia disintegrates in yellow dust, having successfully finished its job of slaying the monsters in control of those downed soldiers.
A moment of catching her own breath is both very precious to Masumi at the moment and very predictably short-lived as another squad of uniformed Duelists appears again in the form of hurried footsteps form the hidden corner. Quickly returning the cards to her Deck to prepare for another wave of attackers, the girl questions her own eyes as the squad suddenly turns to their right side, their eyes seemingly looking at that direction with some form of respect.
A one-sided exchange seems to be going on and after a short while, the squad runs back to the direction they appeared from.
Masumi does not take too much time to get an answer as an individual calmly walk in the empty hallway, Duel Disk armed and ready on her left arm.
"Gloria Taylor…"
Woo! Things are not really looking good to the Lancers right now.
It is funny that you can infiltrate a fortress without giving a damn about surveillance so I mocked it a bit there.
As for the duel itself, I admit, it is just a near-repeat of Yugo vs Rin, but as you can see, real life duels at the point of ARC-V timeline were already very fast and anticlimactic anyway. As much as Duel Monsters is the soul of Yu-Gi-Oh itself, what I want to write is a story, and I am willing to cut off duels a bit if it is required.
