She ran as fast as she could, trying to get away from the alien presence but there was nowhere she could hide, the presence was everywhere. She had to run, to hide, she had to get away. But she couldn't, there was just nowhere she could go.

She was trapped in her own head and there was a Goa'uld taking control of her. She couldn't believe that she'd gotten hijacked like this. She had no power over her own body anymore, the Goa'uld had taken control and put her in a box. She tried to escape but couldn't, there was just nowhere she could go.

Then she found a gap, the Goa'uld, Jolinar, Sam suddenly realised her name was, was distracted by something that was going on and wasn't keeping as tight a hold on her as it had been. So she ran, trying to find any way to get out and let the others know that something was horribly wrong, that she wasn't who she seemed to be, but there wasn't one.

She did manage to find a way to see what was going on around her and realised that everyone knew something was going on, and then she felt the presence again and started to run once more.

I'm not going to hurt you the voice told her I just need you to help me and then I'll leave.

Liar Sam shouted back into the abyss of her mind Give me back my mind.

I can't.

She kept running. Then she was in a box once again and she had to stop. She banged on the walls, trying to get out again and then retreated into a corner.

You are Samantha Carter she said to herself You are Samantha Carter. She kept up the chant, trying to make sure that she didn't forget who she was, and then there was another gap and she ran again.

This time when she found a space to the outside world she saw that she was now behind bars and Jack was standing in front of her. She froze for a fraction of a second, then ran towards the space, trying to get out. A sudden screaming stopped her in her tracks and she heard her own voice shouting, "No Jack! Please, don't leave me, please! Give me a chance!"

She watched as Jack turned and left the room, but she saw the look of pain on his face and realised that that had been nearly as hard for him as it had been for her.

You need to stop the voice told her Please stop running.

Never Sam said back as she got back to her feet and tried to keep running, but her strength deserted her as she was forced back into that box.

Let me out she screamed My name is Samantha Carter, my name is Samantha Carter.

The next time there was a gap it was because of the pain.

What's happening? Sam demanded.

I need you to run the voice came back to her I will try and hold him off, but I need you to run as far as you can, as fast as you can.

Sam didn't question it, she just ran. She happened to look back and saw a wave of darkness behind her and she ran faster. She ran as fast as she could, pushing herself.

Then she found herself in a bright room. Good, the voice said You made it.

Then the voice was gone and the darkness crashed around her, but couldn't touch her. The darkness began to recede and then she could hear what was going on around her. "The Goa'uld," Sam said, now back in control of her own body, "It saved me, told me to run."

Then another type of darkness descended on her and once again she was back locked in her own head. She tried to get out, tried to run back to her life, her body, but she couldn't get her legs to work.

Then Cassie was there and Sam suddenly found herself able to move again and she ran as fast as she could towards Cassie.

Cassie, Jack, Janet, Daniel, Teal'c, and Hammond all felt themselves relax as Sam turned over and looked at Cassie. She looked tired and sad but she was back.

They had no idea how far she'd run but she had made it back to them.
