I was sitting on my butt, on the road, staring at the darkened mark that the lightning had left behind on the road was smoking and my ears rang from the explosion that the flash left behind.
Look this is not where I wanted to start my story but alas I guess I have to for you to get a full picture of how I ended up here. But before that be warned, if you feel like you can relate to my stories or even get the slightest tinge that you have felt the same way then, please for the love of God stop reading further cause if you find out what you are then they will know too and they will come for you. So, Be Warned.
I am Zariya.
I'm sorry I can't give you a better introduction cause I don't have a lot of my memories except waking up at a dingy building and being chased by various monsters. That was about 3 weeks ago. I vaguely remembered a face with a bearded face looking down at me calling my name but that's about it. I don't know what happened to me but at this moment I'm trying to run as fast as I can through the woods as the rain poured down on my face, the dark clouds enveloping the sky seemed to make the forest even darker. The path in between the trees was occasionally illuminated by the lightening strike and I tried to memorize the path through the trees that could lead me anywhere, somewhere away from this place, away from the screeching of the monster with the leathery bat-like wings and a mouth full of mango colored fangs.
She found me at my camping site for the night. I had managed to scratch her with my sword, the bleeding wound hissed, and she growled at me her yellow fangs blaring out. I used this moment to run away from her, into the comfort of the dark side forest that could hide my smaller existence. As if on cue, I could hear her growl coming close to me. I couldn't tell how long I had been running but I was dripping with water, soaked from head to toe but I didn't mind the rain, it always made me feel stronger. My shoes made a plopping sound as I stepped on a puddle. I looked back trying to make out the red eyes that were following me but I couldn't see them. I started to get hopeful maybe I had left it behind and that was the moment my luck started to show its true nature.
The bat lady pounced on me from the top. Her claws stuck deep into my shoulders as she snarled at me," Where is it?"
Damn, she needed to brush her teeth.
" I don't know what you are talking about," I yelled for the umpteenth time. This lady just did not know when to quit, she was adamant on asking me the same question without actually telling me what she needed. Now, my dear readers tell me if you would or wouldn't tell the scary lady that could kill you any minute now the location of the exact thing she needed if you knew the location. Exactly.
"Don't you lie to me? You're being very bad." Her claws dig further into my shoulder and I winced in pain.
If only she was kind enough to tell me what exactly she needed, more garlic breads or maybe some tuna sandwiches I would gladly have guided her.
I had a stupid idea and I head-butted the bat-women so hard my head started throbbing. She fell backwards and I rotated my necklace to turn them into swords. I stabbed the coo-coo lady in between her rib cage and exploded into yellow powder, resembling Her teeth.
I'm sure I inhaled it which I don't think is very good for my lungs and my shoulders had started bleeding now. But I decided to focus on getting out of the forest. I tried to focus on my surroundings and I could very faintly hear the cars going by on the road.
I ran faster and faster through the forest but my legs were wobbly, it felt like the forest That was gonna hide me was now trying to swallow me whole.
Through the darkness of the forest, I emerged on the road, and immediately my ears filled with the sound of the boom, and my eyes blinded by the lightning and I fell backward.
