Charri looked down upon the central room in the Time Nest, watching Trunks stare at a scroll. The Elder Kaioshin said that he looked like he was down, and without his partner Peparia to keep him focus, Trunks was getting broody.

"Trunks?" Charri said as she approached.

Trunks turned around and looked at Charri. "Oh, it's you," he said. He motioned to the scroll he was watching. "This is the scroll that holds the history where I'm from."

"The timeline where Goku died from the heart virus?" Charri said. "The one where you and Gohan had to hold off the Artificial Humans?"

"Yeah, I couldn't be there to save Gohan, though I know it had to happen," Trunks said. "I wouldn't be the man I am today without…"

But Trunks was cut off by Towa's dark magic appearing in the scroll, and Charri knew exactly what was going on. The last time Towa tried to change history at this point, Peparia had shown up to protect Trunks. So, she had to be trying to kill Gohan before he was supposed to die.

"Trunks, you understand, right?" The Kaioshin of Time said as she approached.

Trunks nodded, knowing full well he couldn't interfere in his own history. He looked at Charri, picking up the scroll. "You're going to have to handle this. We'll just have to hope Mira doesn't show up."

Charri nodded as she took the scroll. Mira was as strong as a Super Saiyan God, so she wouldn't stand a chance against him. She closed her eyes and concentrated, and soon, found herself in a destroyed version of West City. Nearby, Artificial Human 16 empowered by Towa's dark magic, making him at least as strong as Perfect Cell. Above her, she felt Gohan's ki, though it was different than the Gohan she knew; it was darker, angrier.

Charri immediately powered up to Super Saiyan 2 and rushed at #16, knocking him back, though #16 managed to recover and skid to a halt.

"Who are you?" Gohan said, confused at Charri's presence. "I didn't know there were people this strong still around."

"I'll tell you in a minute," Charri said as she once again rushed #16. "But right now, we've got a situation to deal with."

Gohan merely nodded, transforming into a Super Saiyan as well. He rushed in as well, and he and Charri began their onslaught.

Gohan was afraid, since #16 was "as strong as the others", but Charri knew she could win the day. She was stronger than Cell at this point, so she should be able to handle #16, or at least go toe to toe with him.

The battle was hard fought, and Charri had to compensate for this Gohan's lack of experience working with a team. He was so used to protecting Trunks in battle that his style was more about tanking hits that he shouldn't be tanking, and Charri had to do her best to keep Gohan from doing that.

But even with all that, with Charri having to take damage she really shouldn't have in order to protect Gohan, she had managed to do enough damage to #16 to bring him down. She breathed a sigh of relief and powered down and talk.

"To answer your earlier question, I'm from the future. I'm here to keep history on track, which means keeping you alive," Charri said.

"Well, thank you," Gohan said. "I just hope our efforts won't be in vain someday."

However, the battle was not over. The worst had come to pass; Mira was here.

"No…" Charri said under her breath. She transformed again, doing her best to swallow her fear and power up.

"I take it this guy's bad news." Gohan said, also powering up.

"You have no idea," Charri said. "Get out of here, Gohan. You have to survive for history to stay on track."

"I'm not going to leave you to die after helping me," Gohan said, dropping down into his fighting stance. "We'll win this together."

Charri would have been touched if they actually had a chance. "Alright, charge up a Makankosappo and aim for his head. I'll do what I can to hold him off."

Trunks was audibly freaking out from the Time Nest as Charri rushed in. He knew he couldn't interfere, but Mira was too strong. And as Charri continued to struggle, to take damage that would need magic to heal, Trunks argued with the Kaioshins about what needed to be done.

Charri was being ragdolled around the battlefield. She wasn't fast enough to dodge, so she had to block. But Mira's blows were too strong, and it powered through her guard. And when Charri tried to attack, Mira's durability was too high; he was able to tank Charri's hits without any effort.

Charri fought hard to just survive, but when Gohan fired his Makankosappo, hitting Mira in the head, it did nothing. So, Trunks did the unthinkable; he grabbed the scroll, entered the timeline and transformed into a Super Saiyan God. He fired off his Burning Attack, hitting Mira right in the chest.

This visibly damaged Mira, and Trunks rushed in to engage his foe. "You won't have your way, Mira!" Trunks shouted.

"Ah, Trunks," Mira said sadistically.

"Trunks? What are you doing here?" Gohan asked, both confused and happy to see an older, stronger version of his charge. "Ah, I see. You're from the future too."

Trunks argued with the Kaioshin of Time through their connection to the Time Nest about his presence, but Charri had to focus on the task at hand and did her best to keep Mira off Gohan. Because if he died, all their efforts would be for nothing.

Eventually, the battle wound down, and Mira retreated, though he ranted about how strong he should be before being chased off completely. This left the three Saiyans standing amidst even more rubble. They were all tired, but happy.

"So, Bulma was able to finish her time machine," Gohan said, putting his hand on Trunks' shoulder. "I'm really proud of you, Trunks."

Trunks perked up, excitedly saying "Right!"

"Now's not the time for this, though," Gohan said. "17 and 18 are attacking the city."

"Gohan, I'll go with you to fight!" Trunks said, the pain in his voice being extreme. "And this time…this time…I won't hold you back!"

"What?" Charri and the Kaioshin of Time shouted.

"Trunks, you can't! You're already interfering too much!" Charri said, trying desperately to convince the stronger hybrid Saiyan.

"If you help out Gohan here, you'll change the course of history!" The Kaioshin of Time added.

"I know that!" Trunks shouted, tears in his eyes. "I know that…but…but…"

"Trunks, is there something you need to say?" Gohan asked.

"Gohan…you…I…" Trunks said, practically sobbing.

"If you're here, all grown up, then the future is safe, isn't it?" Gohan said.

Charri bit her lip. Both she and Trunks knew that wasn't completely true. Yes, Trunks eventually beat the Artificial Humans, but with what Zamasu did…

"And so, this fight has real purpose," Gohan continued. "That's enough for me." He looked over at Charri and continued. "Looks like you've made some friends. You can't abandon your friends, can you?"

Trunks was taken aback enough for Gohan's words to sink in. But he still desperately wanted to help. But Gohan continued. "It was really good to see you, Trunks."

But as Gohan turned around, Trunks lunged forward at him. Charri had to put herself between Trunks and Gohan to stop Trunks.

"You can't do this, Trunks. We've come so far, done so much for the sake of everyone," Charri said. She knew Trunks was FAR stronger than her and could easily go through her if he wanted. But he just stopped, not wanting to hurt his friend and partner.

Gohan blasted off, accepting that he was going to die today. Trunks, with tears in his eyes, used the scroll to return to the Time Nest. Charri just stood there for a moment, sensing out Gohan's ki as it eventually faltered and fell before she returned herself.

Trunks was nowhere to be seen when Charri returned to the Time Nest. He had stormed off to sulk, knowing that this was the second time he had to Gohan's death. But Charri knew that her job wasn't done; another scroll had a history change in it, slightly further in Trunks' timeline. The Kaioshin of Time healed Charri, and she entered the timeline to herself in a wasteland.

And when she heard Trunks talk about bringing peace to his timeline, she knew what had happened. Both #16 and Cell were there, both empowered by Towa's dark magic, Cell in his Perfect Form.

Both Charri and Trunks powered up into their strongest states and rushed in toward their opponents, Charri rushing #16 so Trunks could handle Cell, as was proper in the timeline. But she had to handle this battle quickly, as Trunks wasn't as strong as Cell at this point.

Charri ramped up her power and unleashed a heavy melee assault onto #16. Thankfully, this Artificial Human was completely mechanical, so she could destroy his body without worry of regeneration. This allowed her to put her fist through the machine's chest, and channeling a ball of ki, blew up her opponent.

Charri took to the air to survey the battlefield, seeing Trunks struggling against Cell. She rushed down toward Cell and slammed him into the dirt. She continued her assault, battering Cell repeatedly before tossing him into the air.

She then began charging up a Kamehameha and shouted at Trunks to do his strongest attack. Trunks charged up his Head Dome Attack, and their combined assault allowed them to vaporize Cell.

Charri grabbed her scroll from her belt and returned to the Time Nest as soon as she was certain Cell was gone, not even allowing Trunks to ask questions. She returned to the Time Nest and was met by both Kaioshins.

"You did a fine job," the Kaioshin of Time said.

This was when Trunks decided to make his presence known. He apologized for his actions, and the Kaioshin of Time compassionately told him to "not do it again", knowing full well how hard watching that had been on Trunks.

"Well, I'm just glad everyone's okay. Mira would have killed both Gohan and me if he hadn't helped," Charri added, trying to please both her boss and her…partner…friend? She wasn't clear about her relationship with the elite Time Patroller just yet.

"Well, I still owe you an apology. For having to stop me, I mean," Trunks said, bowing his head slightly. He looked up at them all, and then spoke. "Well, I need to go train. Mira's just going to get stronger, and Super Saiyan God may not be enough."

"I do too," Charri said. "I'm nowhere near Mira's level right now, and I need to get there soon."
