Episode 20: Get a Clue
"Once upon a time, in Total Drama Action. There was a princess trapped in a tower."
"Well okay, Anne Maria got stashed in some tower set for a couple of hours, but still! A bunch of knights went to rescue her, and along the way some were lost."
"Dreams were crushed, and a Prince prevailed! But, it was no fairy tale ending for Princess Anne Maria and Prince Justin."
"The girl wanted to win. And so, Prince Justin got the boot. And the rest of them lived happily ever after." An obviously staged scene of the remaining five contestants smiling and waving at the camera from the amphitheater seats was shown, only for the camera to pull back and reveal it to be a photograph in the host's hands.
"NOT!" he said impishly, tearing the photo in two. 'C'mon, this is Total Drama Action! Forget happily, we've got fights, danger, maiming! This time, there might even be murder! So keep your eyeballs glued, right here! On another homicidal episode of! Total! Drama! Action!"
(Commercial Break)
The episode opened with a shot of the craft services tent, the camera moving forward and cutting inside as MK said "Breakfast tacos? Did Chef forget how to make breakfast foods that aren't Mexican-themed?"
The five remaining castmates were shown to be begrudgingly eating their meal at the same table, the one closest to the door. Ripper, MK, and Jasmine took up one end of one side of the table, and Topher and Anne Maria sat far opposite them.
As MK had said, each contestant currently had what looked like a taco shell filled with scrambled eggs in front of them. MK picked hers up and took a bite, and a second later, Ripper copied the motion. Both of them paused in disgust at around the same time.
"I'm pretty sure Chef didn't bother getting rid of the egg shells when he made these," Jasmine said while inspecting her own taco and picking out a fleck of white from it.
"No way am I gonna eat this slop," Anne Maria said and pushed her plate away.
"I don't want this anymore than the rest of you do," MK grunted before taking another bite, chewing it once, then sticking her tongue out in alarm. Amidst the poorly-prepared eggs was what looked to be a USB flash drive, and the AV girl quickly picked it off her tongue and held it up. "What the heck?"
"Interesting," Topher mused. "Chef must have run out of things to slip into our meals."
"I wonder what's on it?" Jasmine asked, looking at the drive curiously. "It must be a secret about Chris."
Anne Maria sniffed. "Maybe, but we don't have any way to see what's on it."
She was interrupted by a sudden hacking cough from Ripper, who quickly pounded on his chest until he spat up a small electronic device.
"A PDA?" Topher said, picking the device up with a napkin and looking at it closely. "How was this able to be stuffed into a taco?" He grabbed the flash drive out of MK's hand, stuck it into the side of the PDA, and everyone leaned in to watch.
The viewpoint shifted to a close-up of the screen as Topher pressed a button and a video began to play. It was, of course, set in the control tent and starring Chris McLean. "I hope you all had a filling breakfast," the grinning host began as the camera cut in even closer. "It was so delish. I was practically on cloud nine! I could've had a dozen of them!"
The shot briefly cut back to Jasmine and Ripper as they exchanged a bewildered look.
"But, enough about breakfast," Chris continued with a bit of laughter. "It's time to eighty-six this combination – ah, I mean, conversation!"
"What the heck is he talking about?" Ripper asked. "He just keeps getting stranger."
"Right now I'm gonna relax in a nice safe and secure place," Chris said, "and get ready for today's challenge. You're probably wondering what the challenge is," he asked, and the shot cut to Anne Maria and Topher. The Jersey girl was watching with an unamused expression, while the fanboy was nodding intently.
"It will remain a mystery," Chris answered, the shot still focused on the couple as they raised their brows, "until you find me. Hopefully you'll clue in and track me down, but, in the meantime," he pulled out a can of pop, "I'm gonna crack open a soda and relax. See ya!" He opened the can, and the video ended.
"Unless there's a reward, I'm not gonna waste time finding Chris," Ripper said.
"I could use a day off from that mongrel," Jasmine added.
"Absolutely. We should just let Chris wait for us," Anne Maria agreed.
"Well, I think he was giving us hints on where to find him," Topher said.
"It's not like Chris to make things easy for us," Jasmine spoke up.
MK spoke up. "Actually, he's right."
Confessional: Anne Maria
"Topher isn't up to Albert Einstein when it comes to intelligence," Anne Maria confessed, "but he's not a dumb blonde. He just likes to choose when to use his brain."
Confessional Ends
"Didn't you notice all those random words Chris put emphasis on?" MK asked.
"Yeah, but Chris has always been weird," Ripper replied. "He might be losing his mind."
"But what he's saying is leading up to something," MK responded. "Think about it. 'Safe,' 'clue,' 'crack,'. He's referring to a safe, probably the one from the bank heist."
"Impressive," Jasmine commented.
"When you have a high IQ, figuring out clues is as easy as brushing your teeth," MK bragged.
"I was the one who figured out Chris was giving us hints!" Topher complained.
"Yeah, but MK was the one who actually figured the hints out though," Anne Maria told him as they all left the building.
Confessional: Topher
"Even though everyone had my back when it came to voting off Justin, I still don't feel like I'm getting the right amount of respect around here," Topher confessed. "Hopefully winning the next immunity would appeal me to them."
Confessional Ends
The scene moved over to the bank vault set, the five castmates already assembled.
"Let me guess," Ripper told MK as the latter approached the safe on the right, "you already know the combination?"
"He did give it to us, and I'd be brain dead if I didn't know," MK answered dryly.
Just as she bent down to turn the dial, Topher rushed forward. "Allow me to do this!" he said, pushing MK out of the way. Now on the ground, the techno girl glared at Topher, but was ignored. "First was cloud nine," Topher said before turning the dial, "then a dozen, which is twelve," he turned the dial again, "and then he was gonna eighty-six the combination!"
He turned the handle, and the vault door began to open. A bright light came from inside that forced Anne Maria to shield her eyes, and the silhouette of Chris McLean slowly came into view. He was wearing a deerstalker hat and carried a doctor's bag in one hand and held a calabash pipe to his mouth in the other.
"I did it!" Topher said, eagerly rushing forward. "I got you out! What's my reward?"
"Hmm," Chris replied in a stuffy and vaguely British accent. "I hardly recall mentioning any sort of reward." He put the pipe back in his mouth, then coughed. "But thanks for releasing me," he said in his normal voice, "it was getting stuffy in there."
"Are you smoking?" Topher asked as the host put the pipe back to his lips.
"What? Oh no, of course not!" Chris answered with a grin, tossing the pipe into his mouth and easily chewing it up.
Topher recoiled in shock and disgust. "What?" Chris asked with his mouth still full. "It's chewing tobacco." The rest of the cast recoiled in even greater disgust.
"Nah, just kidding," he told them jovially. "It's black licorice."
The five teens took another step back in disgust. "Yeah, you're right," Chris said blankly, spitting the licorice out. "That stuff's disgusting. Now it's time for mystery movie day!" The shot pulled back as a lightly ponderous tune began in the background.
"I've got a challenge for each of you," he explained. "Tonight, you're to meet me at the train station set."
"We have a train station set?" Anne Maria asked in disbelief.
"We have a lot of different sets you guys haven't seen yet," Chris told her irritably. "But first," he continued in his usual hosting demeanor, "I'll require full fingerprints and DNA samples from each competitor."
Confessional: MK
"All my info is protected by maximum security passwords that I've set up over the years to prevent myself from getting hacked," MK confessed.
Confessional Ends
"So, each of the competitors has to gather the evidence from any one of the other competitors," Chris said as Anne Maria, MK, and Ripper looked at him questioningly before nodding and smirking in comprehension. "Which means, it's in your interest to prevent the other guy from getting your detes." Topher was shown smiling and casting a sideways glance at a suspicious Jasmine.
"Now go pack an overnight bag and get me my clues," Chris told the five.
"Are you sure you're not going to reward me for getting you out?" Topher asked quickly.
"Yes," Chris said in annoyance and walked off.
The flashed flashed to the outside of the boys' trailer before cutting inside.
"I still think I should get credit for coming up with the idea to figure out the clues, not just MK," Topher complained.
"And could you have discovered what Chris was talking about?" Ripper asked in annoyance.
"Uh, well-" Topher felt embarrassed.
"I don't really care that much," Ripper told him. "All I care about is me winning this challenge."
"You work on that," Topher told him. "I'm gonna go get some evidence."
Confessional: Topher
"To get my fingerprints and hair, I'll have to either be subtle, sneaky, or a combination of both," Topher said confidently.
Confessional Ends
The footage cut to Topher and Anne Maria standing near the sinks in the communal washrooms.
"Why are we both here?" Anne Maria asked her boyfriend. "There isn't gonna be a vote tonight."
"That is true," Topher responded, "but it doesn't hurt to strategize and think about the game. With Justin and Chase gone from the merge, we have the trio of Ripper, MK, and Jasmine left."
Anne Maria took out her shampoo and started squirting it on her hands. "Ripper got lucky in the superhero flick, and he wasn't in consideration last time, so it's best that we pick him off."
"Or how about Jasmine or MK?" Topher suggested. "They're both stronger and smarter in their own respective cases."
"Yeah, but Ripper's more annoying," Anne Maria argued.
"I'm with you on that, but also…" Topher mumbled before he suddenly plucked a hair from Anne Maria's pouf, then grabbed her shampooed hand and put a piece of paper on it.
"For real?!" Anne Maria gritted her teeth.
"I'm smoother than you think," Topher laughed suavely.
A montage of the cast mates getting evidence was shown while a jazzy tune played in the background.
First, MK stepped out of the girls' trailer only to trip on a wire. She fell and landed face first on the ground. Her hand landed in a puddle of paint and Ripper appeared to grab her fingerprints and snag a piece of hair from the techno.
The camera cut to the communal bathroom as Topher walked into the showers in his towel while brushing his hair, a hair strand coming out of it and landing on the floor. As soon as the showers started, Jasmine opened the stall she was in and after grabbing the hair strand, placed a tub of blue paint and a piece of paper on the floor.
The showers stopped and Topher stepped on the paint and the paper while walking out, oblivious to what was going on. After he left, Jasmine exited the stall and took her footprinted paper off the floor with satisfaction.
Confessional: Ripper
Ripper opened his mouth to say something, then quickly looked up and saw a barrel about to fall on him. The bully shoved it out of his way, and MK showed up and looked disappointed with the result while Ripper grinned at her.
Confessional Ends
The camera cut to the kitchen, where Anne Maria had a plate of spaghetti and meatballs in front of her while Jasmine came in.
"My lipstick fell in!" Anne Maria panicked, causing Jasmine to stick her hand inside the meal for a few seconds.
Jasmine took her hand out after finding nothing, but this gave Anne Maria the opportunity to slap her sauce painted hand with a paper slip and take a piece of her hair.
Confessional: Anne Maria
"Like I'd ever let my accessories touch food," Anne Maria smirked, only for her to suddenly be trapped in a barrel. MK came in to paint her hand, get the fingerprints, and take a piece of Anne Maria's hair.
Confessional Ends
Jasmine was relaxing on the branch of her tree. Topher climbed up the tree and startled her by taking off a hair string of hers.
"Didn't you get samples from Anne Maria already?" Jasmine asked.
"I did, but I couldn't help myself," Topher admitted.
Confessional: Jasmine
"What a wily pig, that Topher is," Jasmine mused.
Confessional Ends
The scene flashed forward to the five castmates at what would almost look like a legitimate rural train station at night, were it not for the obviously fake mountainous horizon stretching across the background.
A bell was ringing as the camera zoomed in to Chris exiting the station, still in his hat but now carrying a box. As he walked past the contestants with it, they each dropped in the evidence they'd managed to gather – first MK, then Ripper, then Jasmine, then Anne Maria, and finally Topher.
"Here you go, just like you requested," Topher said, putting the two bags into the box. "So what's the reward?"
"It's not reward time just yet," Chris said.
"Aw, for real?" Topher said with a frown.
"Definitely for real. All Aboard!" Chris called jovially, cupping his hands around his mouth. The train whistle was shown blowing, and with a few puffs of steam, the wheels began to move. A cloud of dust filled the screen, and was the transition to the next scene.
The dust settled, showing the inside of a train compartment with Topher seated at a table with Anne Maria and Chris walking towards him. He set his bag down on the table, then grabbed the contestant by the wrist.
"Whoa, hey!" Topher protested as the host rolled his palm with ink and pressed a piece of paper to it. "What's the big deal?"
"Regulation to ride the train, sir," Chris told him with a formal tone. The camera cut over to the other side of the room, showing Ripper and MK sitting across from each other by a doorway. Chef entered the room wheeling a cart full of sweets, meeting Chris in front of Anne Maria and Topher's booth. "Welcome aboard the 7:30 to Funville," the host announced. "Let the party begin!"
"A party I don't have to crash for no reason?" Ripper said happily. "Wicked!"
"And it's for all of us?" MK added with excitement. "I'm impressed."
"Look at all this food," Anne Maria said as she and her boyfriend looked eagerly at the food cart that had been parked in front of them. "Let's dig in!"
"This makes up for not getting anything earlier," Topher added as he picked up a cupcake loaded with frosting.
The two began to eat, Ripper and MK joining in as well. MK looked over at Jasmine, who was at a booth by herself. "Are you hungry?" she asked the tallest contestant.
"Not really," Jasmine replied after a moment's pause. "I'm not a big fan of sweets."
MK shrugged. "More for us then."
Just then, the lights inside the car flickered and shut off. The telltale sound of a pop can being opened was heard.
"What happened to the lights?!" Topher cried after the music spiked dramatically.
"Umm, you can't kill the host!" Chris shouted in a panic, and the sounds of a violent scuffle ensued.
The lights flickered back on moments later, and MK looked around and smiled. "That's better," she said. "But what was that about?"
"Chris is dead!" Topher interrupted loudly to another dramatic spike in the music, looking down at the floor. The camera quick-panned to follow, revealing what appeared to be the corpse of Chris McLean.
"Wait, really?" Jasmine asked in shock.
"Yeah, really," Ripper answered dryly, crouching forward and checking the body's pulse. "Our host is a goner," he said, letting go of the limp wrist.
"But he can't be!" Topher cried out. "He can't just die like that and leave us here!"
"I'll try and revive him," Anne Maria suggested, taking a couple steps towards the body.
"Since when do you know CPR?" MK asked skeptically.
"I had a job as a lifeguard once," Anne Maria informed. "I quit after a couple of guys pretended to pass out just to get mouth to mouth with me. Now step aside." She knelt down by the body, pumped on its chest a few times with both hands, then began the artificial respiration.
After a few repetitions, as the other four watched nervously, Anne Maria got up and frowned. "It's no use," she said. "He's not responding."
"Sooo...what do we do now?" Ripper asked as the music built up. Close-up shots followed of Topher, MK, Jasmine, and Anne Maria all looking nervous, disturbed, or scared, and the scene faded to black.
(Commercial Break)
A few close-ups of the train in motion and its whistle blowing were shown before the scene cut back inside to Chris' corpse.
"I have to get out of here before I'm next!" Topher yelled as he tried to open one of the windows.
"Who would kill Chris in front of us!" Jasmine asked frantically.
"This is bad!" Ripper panicked. "If the host is dead, the show would be canceled, and I won't get my million dollars!!!"
"Would all of you shut up!!!" Anne Maria yelled, instantly gaining the attention of everybody. "We aren't gonna figure anything out if we're acting like chickens!"
"And how are you and MK not scared about our situation?" Topher wondered.
"I'm just not the type to panic about these things," MK said dismissively.
Topher stared at her suspiciously. "How interesting."
Confessional: Topher
"I think it's pretty clear who killed Chris," Topher told the confessional camera. "How can someone not show fear over somebody's passing, even if that somebody is the host."
Confessional: MK
"Heads up," MK began her confessional, "I know the corpse of Chris is a fake, but where's the fun in not figuring out what the goal of the challenge is while playing along with the others?"
Confessionals End
"At this rate," Anne Maria told the others, "we should alert whoever else is on the train that Chris is dead. There is a phone by the door."
"I'll answer it," Jasmine volunteered. The footage skipped forward to her jogging over to a phone box mounted by the door; she picked up the phone and said "Hello? Is anybody there?" Her eyes went wide at a dramatic spike in the music, and she hung up the phone and turned around to face the others. "Nobody's answering!" she cried out in alarm.
Topher gasped. "Maybe whoever executed Chris cut the phone line!"
"I can't be the only one who thinks that this is just a hoax," Anne Maria muttered.
"You felt the body yourself," MK said.
"Like I know what a dead body is supposed to feel like," Anne Maria countered.
"Unlike you guys, I know how to tell the difference between a corpse and a living body," MK argued.
"Let me check!" Ripper said, walking over to the body. "Hey Chris," he yelled at it, "if you don't get up, I'm going to crash your car and your limo!" There was no movement from the body. "Let me try this!" Ripper frowned and stomped down hard on the stomach of Chris McLean. Still, there was no response.
"Maybe this is just a hoax," Topher spoke up. "This isn't the first time Chris has fooled us, right? This probably isn't even a real train!"
Confessional: Anne Maria
"Look," Anne Maria confessed, "I just don't wanna deal with a murder right now. Even though I don't like Chris at all, that doesn't mean I want him killed all of a sudden."
Confessional Ends
"You know what," Jasmine said, "you make a good point."
"One of us just needs to go out the ceiling hatch," MK looked up at the hatch she spoke of, "and have a look around. If this is just a set, then go find someone and get them to let us out."
"That sounds simple enough," Anne Maria said with her gaze locked upwards. "I'll volunteer since I have more guts."
"Hey!" Ripper immediately spoke up. "I'm tougher than all of you combined!"
"Weren't you also panicking with us?" MK interrupted.
Jasmine got both of their attention by clearing her throat. "If we're going to carry on, we have to outline the body with something."
"Anne Maria, could you lend us a stick?" Topher requested.
"I'm not going near that thing again. You do it, Jasmine." Anne Maria took out a stick of lipstick and handed it to the Outback girl, who swiped it away without a word.
"You may as well get going," Jasmine told Anne Maria after kneeling down and starting the outline. The Jersey girl looked up at the ceiling hatch again and glared with determination.
The scene flashed outside, more dramatic music playing as the shot lingered on the smoke billowing back over the two passenger cars from the smokestack of the locomotive. Panning down, Anne Maria was shown standing on top of the rear car looking wind-blown and nervous.
"This was a bad idea," she commented as she struggled to maintain her balance. She shot a wary eye forward and saw a tunnel fast approaching, then gasped and ducked down to hug the top of the train. "Let me back in already!" she shouted, banging frantically on the hatch.
The scene cut to the four other castmates watching the ceiling hatch as they heard a nasty-sounding bang and an angry groan from Anne Maria. The lights flickered and shut off again, and Topher screamed.
"Who keeps turning out the lights?!" Ripper asked in alarm.
"This ain't good!" MK exclaimed.
"We're all gonna die!" Topher cried.
The lights flickered back on, and a rumbling from above got their attention, and moments later, Anne Maria fell through the hatch and landed on the floor.
"Yeah, this train is real," the roughed-up girl informed the others. "And I am not going up again."
Topher gasped. "If the train is real, then that means we're stuck here! And with whoever killed Chris!"
"You gotta be kidding!" MK cried.
"That's not the only problem we have," Jasmine added in alarm as the music rose dramatically, "Chris' body disappeared!" She pointed to the spot where the host's body had been, the red lipstick outline still visibly untouched on the floor. Everyone screamed again.
"What?" Anne Maria said in disbelief. "Since when do dead bodies get up and walk away?"
"What if the killer took the body away when the lights went out?!" MK wondered.
"Wait, the lights went out again?" Anne Maria muttered in confusion.
"Why the heck would the killer do that?" Topher asked.
"Probably to hide evidence that was on the body," Jasmine spoke up.
"I'll go check the other cart and see if that's where he is," Anne Maria walked off-screen.
"And I'll keep looking for clues," Jasmine said. "There's gotta be something that'll help us solve the murder."
"I'll help as well!" Topher declared. "I don't want to get murdered."
"I'll look for a way out," Ripper said. "If we can't find the killer, then we might as well move on with our lives."
"And I'll assist you with that," MK told him. "Working with you is better than losing my life."
"A-ha!" Jasmine was heard shouting. The camera turned to see her holding up a long strand of black hair. "I discovered this," she declared. "One of the culprit's hairs."
The others gasped at the news. "I could use that to floss my teeth," Ripper commented, earning him odd looks.
"Anyway," Jasmine continued, "Anne Maria was not with us when the lights went off."
"So she's a murderer?!" Topher doubted. "I don't buy that one bit!"
The camera cut to the door to the cart, and Anne Maria walked in. "The other car's empty," she told them. "And the engine room is locked for some reason."
The other four, with the exception of Topher, glared at her suspiciously.
"What are you all looking at me like that for?" Anne Maria asked them.
"These guys think that you're the murderer," Topher answered.
"What?" Anne Maria asked, clearly shocked.
"One of your hairs was near the body," MK explained.
"That could've fallen out when we were walking by it," Anne Maria retorted. "Or maybe one of you planted it."
"And besides," Topher said as the other three moved towards Anne Maria, "Chris made her the Princess like she wanted in the last episode. Why would she have a motive?!"
Ripper narrowed her eyes as he swung the handcuffs. "We're cuffing 'er."
The footage skipped ahead to show Anne Maria handcuffed to a railing with a scowl.
Confessional: Ripper
"It may seem lame to blame Anne Maria, but I already see her as the type to kill if triggered super badly," Ripper confessed. "Our lives are at stake here, and not the medium-grilled kind."
Confessional Ends
"Accused for a crime I didn't commit," Anne Maria grumbled. "This is not fair."
Topher walked over to her and crouched down. "I'm sorry about this, but just sit tight until everything is solved," he suggested.
"All right," Jasmine told the non-cuffed cast mates. "We handcuffed Anne Maria, but we still need to figure out how Chris was even killed."
"Maybe if we toss something in the path of the wheels, the train will stop," MK suggested.
Ripper opened the door hatch and looked below. "If this train was solar powered, we could just throw something giant over it. That'd be easier."
"It's still easy to just stop the wheels so that it'll stop the train," MK said.
"You guys stop the train," Jasmine directed, "and I'll look for more clues."
The camera flashed to a shot of the moving train.
The shot cut to Topher, Ripper, and MK looking out of the hatch on the bottom of the train.
"So what do we throw?" MK asked.
"We have this giant soda bottle from the party," Ripper held up the aforementioned object.
Topher threw that, and got splashed by the drink. "This will stick to my body."
"Try this," MK gave a pillow to Ripper. He threw it, and got covered by feathers.
"Use this bread," Topher said as he showed off a baguette. "It's hard as a rock."
MK took the bread and tossed it in the path of the train. She was rewarded with a face-full of crumbs.
Jasmine was watching the scene and gasped at the sight of the destroyed bread. "I know who the killer is!" she declared.
"It's Anne Maria," MK replied. "You said that earlier."
"I was dead wrong," Jasmine answered. "The killer was actually Topher!"
"What?" Topher gasped.
"Really?" MK asked
"Here's what actually happened," Jasmine said. "We all know that you felt upset by Chris not giving you a reward for opening the safe and getting DNA samples. So when the lights went out, you took the baguette and whacked Chris over the head with it."
"And how did you know that Chris wasn't somehow killed by being stabbed or shot?" MK wondered.
"I knew Chris was killed by a blunt object because there was no blood at all," Jasmine explained. "And the flakes in his hair weren't dandruff. It was crumbs from the bread hitting him."
"Things are spicing up," Ripper said in interest.
"When the lights went off again, you dragged Chris's body away, Topher," Jasmine glared at the nervous boy. "But you made sure to plant a hair from your own girlfriend. Then you tried to get rid of the weapon, but you made the utmost mistake of mentioning how hard it was."
MK and Ripper were now shooting daggers at Topher and moving towards him. "Now hold on just a minute!" he said timidly.
With a sudden and familiar laugh, the door slammed open and all five teens locked their attention on it. "Oh! I really had you guys!" Chris said as he walked in, very much alive and very much dragging his own 'corpse'. "I look good in rubber, don't you think?" he held up the fake body for them to see. "Cracker jack special effects, dudes," he said to the camera, giving a thumbs up.
"I knew something was off about that body!" Anne Maria said.
"Where did you get this?" Topher said as he felt the rubber double.
"I just threatened to quit my hosting job unless they give me an extra-big budget to psyche you kids out," Chris explained jovially.
"For the record," MK spoke up, "I knew that you weren't actually killed. I was only playing along."
"Nonetheless!" Chris said, walking away from MK and Topher, "the winner of today's reward challenge is the person who solved the crime." He walked up to Jasmine, still dragging the fake corpse behind him. "And that person is Detective Jasmine!" He raised the Aussie's arm up, and Jasmine grinned.
"My first challenge win in the merge? Nice!" Jasmine celebrated.
"The reward that Jasmine will be enjoying tonight is a night at the movies with a friend of her choice," Chris explained.
"Watching a flick? Sounds suiting enough! And I know just who to take, too," Jasmine said before walking forward and approaching a handcuffed Anne Maria. "Anne Maria, I'm sorry that we accused you. How 'bout I make it up to you by bringing you to the movies?"
"Get me off of these cuffs, and I'm down for it," Anne Maria accepted the invitation.
The scene skipped ahead to night, a long-distance shot of the unlit amphitheater showing that a screen had been set up and a movie projected onto it from the guardrail by the Walk of Shame. What looked to be a zombified version of one of the show's many interns shambled across the movie screen, and Jasmine and Anne Maria could just be made out watching from the bleachers.
The shot cut closer, revealing none other than Chris sharing the screen with the zombie, the full moon illuminating the night scene. "It's not badminton," he said, dressed in the uniform and wielding the racquet traditional to the sport, "it's goodminton!" He knocked the first zombie down, only for a second – also looking suspiciously like one of the interns – attacked from another angle. "Heck, it's greatminton!" He chopped the head off the second zombie, and the camera cut away from the flickering screen.
Anne Maria and Jasmine were both enjoying the flick and munching on bags of popcorn.
"Sooo… about Brick," Anne Maria opened up.
"Can we not talk about him right now?" Jasmine begged.
"I know you're still upset about his whole secret alliance thing, but you're gonna see him again eventually," Anne Maria said.
"Didn't you hold a grudge against Scott for getting you voted out?" Jasmine questioned.
"Yeah, but unlike us, you and Brick had a friendship goin' on," Anne Maria defended. "You can't stay mad at him forever, even if what he did was wrong."
"I guess, but he'll have to prove that he can earn my forgiveness," Jasmine replied and continued to eat her popcorn while Anne Maria sighed.
Confessional: Jasmine
"I do not regret picking Anne Maria to come to the movies with me," Jasmine admitted to the confessional camera. "I figured we could use some bonding time after not being on the same team for a few episodes," she said before frowning, "but it didn't need to revolve around Brick for a bit."
Confessional: Topher
"Just to be clear, I would never murder people, not even if they're my worst enemies!" Topher said. "Thankfully, I didn't get cuffed for the whole challenge. I am not a criminal."
Confessional: MK
"I don't mind that I wasn't chosen to see the movie," MK confessed nonchalantly. "Anne Maria not winning immunity thrice in a row is all the satisfaction I need."
Confessionals End
The scene flashed over to Chris, now eating popcorn in the amphitheater bleachers but apparently not alone. "I gotta tell you," he said as a touching song began to play in the background, "it's great to be able to share some quality time with someone who really gets me." He tossed a handful into his mouth, then offered the bag to whoever was sitting to his left. "Popcorn? No? Really though," he moved the bag back to his lap, "it's a relief to be with someone I actually like."
The shot pulled back slightly, revealing that he'd been speaking to his rubber duplicate the whole time. "And you've got the most adorable nose," he told the dummy, poking it on the nose. This caused the head to flop backwards, which in turn unbalanced the whole thing and caused it to fall over. It was only then that Chris noticed the camera on him.
"Oh!" he laughed awkwardly. "H-hey! You're...here! Err, well, umm," the dramatic ending theme began to play, "tune in next time for more movie madness on Total! Drama! Action!" The fallen dummy was still visible even as the shot zoomed out.

"I woulda preferred goin' to the movies with Topher," Anne Maria confessed with a big bag of popcorn on the table. "We're a couple and it would have been a date. But goin' with Jasmine wasn't bad at all. She's not big on popcorn like me, and if I was with Topher, I'd have to share with him, but luck played in my favor tonight!" She took a handful of popcorn and crammed it into her mouth. "I just wish that the popcorn was less buttery though."
