In the ice sector of Lyoko, past a bunch of paths and platforms, the three girls are running down a path. "Thirty degrees north," Jeremy tells them as they're on their way to an activated tower. However, nothing was happening back at school or in the city, which already was weird. They eventually come to a stop. "You should be able to see it by now."

"No kidding, sticks out like a sore thumb," Yumi comments as the tower doesn't look red this time, but white. "There's nothing happening, it's awfully calm," She looks around as there's no signs of any monsters, which indicates a trap.

"Well, be careful. You never know," Jeremy states as a monster could arrive at any second.

"How about we both keep a lookout while Aelita goes into the tower?" Amy suggests and Yumi nods in agreement. She points to the tower and Aelita walks up, entering it. Amy flaps her wings, flying around the tower to look for anything. Aelita steps up to the platform and floats towards the top.

"Yoohoo!" She appears on the computer screen a few seconds later. "Hi Jeremy. I don't see anything out of the ordinary in the tower. Are you sure it's the right one?"

"That was what the scan picked up, at least for a few seconds," He explains to her. Meanwhile outside, Yumi gets the feeling that she's being watched. She hears something and turns around, but nothing's there. Once Amy comes back around to the front of the tower, she notices Yumi's suspicious look. She gives a quick glance around, but like Yumi, she doesn't see anything. She shrugs and continues flying around.

"And you said you felt pulsations a while ago, didn't you?" Jeremy wonders, scratching his head. Both the scan and the pulsations were a bit filmsy, but he didn't want to take any chances ignoring it. Still, it's strange that nothing has actually happened.

"I did. Well, let's say yes and no," Aelita glances around in thought. "I'm not sure I did anymore. I thought I did."

"Okay then, I'll go and-"

Yumi screams, and Aelita hears it from outside. "Yumi!" Amy's scream of alarm is followed.

"Sounds like Yumi and Amy," Aelita stands up in alert.

"What's going on? Can you hear me, Yumi, Amy? Answer me. Yumi!" He doesn't see Yumi's location anymore, but he can still see Amy's, and only Amy's. "Amy, what happened?"

"I-I don't know," Amy shakes her head slowly. "I was on lookout and the next thing I knew-"

"Jeremy, Yumi's disappeared!" Aelita interrupts, finishing what she was about to say.

"What? Come on, she couldn't have just vanished," Jeremy states in confusion.

"Jeremy, I'm telling you, she's not here anymore," Amy insists to the boy.

Suddenly a scanner opens and the computer screen shows that she's devirtualized. "Aelita, Amy, hold on, I'll get back to you," He stands up and leaves to go check it out.

"Wait-!" Amy falters as she's still on Lyoko.

"Jeremy? Jeremy, what about Amy?" Aelita calls out, earning a sigh. Aelita turns to the girl, who crosses her arms.

"Looks like I'm gonna have to devirtualize myself," She closes her eyes, holding out her hands. "Frosty Vine!" Plants made out of ice wrap around her body, devirtualizing her since they work the same as the Blok's ice lasers.

Jeremy walks to the elevator quickly, pressing the button to go to the scanner room. He sees Yumi unconscious in front of a scanner, but also Amy glaring at him a bit. "Whoops," He rubs the back of his neck as he realizes what happened. "Sorry, Amy. Hey, Yumi. Yumi?"

Amy gasps and runs over to her.

Odd and Ulrich are at the vending machines. Odd presses a button and hot chocolate goes into the cup. He then takes the cup, having a small sip and reacting in disgust. "Ugh! Hey, what's wrong with the hot chocolate today? It tastes like dirty socks and an old pair of sneakers."

"Odd the gourmet!" Ulrich rubs the back of his neck in amusement.

"Yoohoo!" He turns to the side to see Sissi waving and running up to him. "Hey, Ulrich! Yoohoo! Yoohoo!"

"Well, what do you know?" Odd shakes his head while Ulrich is cringing a little bit. "Your fan club." He tosses out the hot chocolate into the trash. Sissi flips her hair while walking past him.

"Oh, I don't believe it. Your darling Yumi's deserted you for once?" She smiles at Yumi not being around. Odd just looks annoyed as his arms are crossed.

"Like your brain, huh?" He quips with a small smile. "It deserted you a long time ago!" Sissi gasps while Ulrich snickers and she glares at Odd. Ulrich's phone rings and he answers. Sissi huffs while going up to the vending machine.

"Hello? Oh, it's you, Jeremy."

Sissi puts in a coin. "I'd recommend the hot chocolate. Take my word for it," Odd speaks up while Ulrich listens to Jeremy.

"What?" Ulrich asks in concern as he's just now hearing about Yumi.

At the infirmary, the boys help carry Yumi to the bed. "Okay, easy does it," Jeremy guides Odd and Ulrich. "That's it," They put her on the bed gently.

"Oh, well then, what happened to her?" The nurse points at the girl while looking at the blond.

"Um...well, she started feeling sick during recess," Jeremy rubs the back of his neck.

"It's cause she's been studying real hard. Our teachers give us way too much homework," Odd speaks up, and Amy nudges him in the arm slightly. "Ow!"

"Alright, I'll take care of her. Now, back to class, all of you." However, they stand there, not wanting to leave Yumi all by herself. Especially since this is the first time something like this has happened, so they're not sure if it was serious or not. She then narrows her eyes. "You heard what I said, now go. Go on."

They reluctantly leave, Jeremy closing the door behind him. The nurse checks Yumi's wrist and she starts to wake up. "Well, feeling better? Hmm?" Yumi grabs her arm back silently, sitting up. Something is definitely off about her behavior. "Hey, no, no, no. Come on, lie down now, you hear? Please, you need to rest."

Yumi just stares up at her, and when the nurse reaches out her arm, Yumi grabs it tight. The nurse gasps at this reaction.

The four are sitting outside the cafeteria, discussing what could've happened to Yumi. "Are you sure she wasn't hit by a laser? Maybe there was a megatank hiding somewhere," Ulrich suggests to Jeremy.

"No no, I would've seen it on the screen," Jeremy explains and then Ulrich turns to Amy.

"Amy, you were there with Yumi. Did you see anything?"

"Um...well, my...my memory isn't clear on what happened to Yumi," Amy closes her eyes, holding her head. "All I know is that I was on look-out where Jeremy said the tower was, but I don't remember anything else. It's like it's all a blur now."

"Huh?" The boys turn to each other in confusion that she suddenly can't recall the events.

"But...you told me earlier that she had disappeared, now you're saying you can't remember anything?" Jeremy narrows his eyes, since he knows that Amy has a good memory. After all, she's almost just as smart as him, so it makes no sense now that she couldn't explain it.

"Hey, back off, Jeremy," Odd warns, placing a gentle hand on Amy's shoulder. "Are you sure you can't remember anything?"

"I'm sorry," She holds her arm tight. "I remember up until to when I circled back to Yumi, and then just nothing. I can't tell you what happened to her."

"I'm sorry too. It's just really weird. She still had all her life points when she was devirtualized," Jeremy explains, patting Amy's back in assurance that he's not angry.

"Well, in any case, something abnormal happened," Ulrich scratches his head in thought.

"Yeah, that's for sure. The proof is she passed out in the scanner. Only the return trip's pretty easy."

"Huh, that's what you think," Odd speaks up from behind. "You oughta try it one of these days. You'll love it. But how come you weren't affected the same way?" He turns around to Amy.

"That's a good question...if I don't remember and Yumi passed out, how come it only happened to her?" She rubs her chin in thought. Ulrich looks conflicted as he glances back, gasping. Yumi is standing just a few feet away from them.

"Yumi!" He calls out to her and she turns around with a gasp. Amy is a bit confused by that reaction, as she'd think Yumi would have a warmer reaction.

"Guess you're feeling better, huh?" Odd asks with a smile.

"You had us scared," Ulrich says and Amy frowns at Yumi.

"I'm so sorry I couldn't help you, Yumi," She speaks up and Odd places a hand on her shoulder in comfort.

"Tell us what happened," Jeremy replies next and she doesn't answer them. Instead, she turns around to leave, but Ulrich puts his hand on her shoulder to stop her.

"You sure you're okay?" He asks while eyeing her.

"Yeah," Is all that she says.

"Really?" He questions again, this time a bit skeptically.

"I'm just tired," She turns away, holding her temple.

"Yumi, tell us what happened on Lyoko," Jeremy insists, crossing his arms. He'd rather know instead of having this happen again to the others. Besides, he wanted an understanding of whatever had happened.

"Nothing, ya hear?" She replies in defense. "Come on, let's go over to the factory now," She insists out of nowhere, which confuses Amy as she raises a brow. She glances over to the others silently.

"In your condition? That's a pretty crazy idea," Ulrich remarks and Amy steps up a bit.

"Why would you wanna go there now? There's nothing happening. Besides, wouldn't you want to be away from the lab right now so that you wouldn't be reminded of what happened?" She points out, earning no answer from the black-haired girl.

"Hey, listen," Odd speaks up, getting their attention. "You know, we've got more important things to do. Like eating, for example."

"I can't take you anywhere," Amy jokes, earning a laugh from him, but Yumi doesn't react and instead leaves.

"Hey..." Odd murmurs as he follows her, shrugging in confusion to Ulrich and Jeremy.

"It's not like Yumi to be like this..." Amy murmurs in slight worry. Yumi would've at least reacted to it, but nothing. It's like they're talking to a brick wall.

"What about Aelita? Is she safe?" Ulrich looks over to Jeremy.

"I hope so. I told her to stay in the tower," He explains to the two.

Aelita is still in the ice sector, sitting on her knees as she looks at the interface. She's looking up things about Earth, but she also senses something wrong. She slides the screen away, standing up. "I've gotta go and check it out."

A strange orange sphere is floating not too far away from her location. It gives off a strange buzzing sound...

In the cafeteria, Yumi isn't eating anything. Odd eats a meatball while she just sits there quietly. Jeremy turns to the girl. "And you really can't remember what happened?" He asks her again, still interrogating her about the events.

'No, nothing."

"Do you think it could've come from the scanners?" Ulrich theorizes to everyone. "A bug or something like that? Maybe that's what happened to Amy too."

"I would've remembered my body glitching out if that's what you're getting at," Amy gives him a blank look.

"Unless XANA's trying out a new way of attacking," Odd suggests next.

"I haven't the slightest idea. I'm wondering if all these transfers aren't becoming a health problem," Jeremy voices in slight concern.

"But if that were the case, Odd and Ulrich would've been affected too at some point, and they're not any different...that is, if Odd being a big eater is normal," She jokes, earning laughter from Ulrich and Jeremy.

"Hey!" Odd protests at her, pouting. "Cheap shot."

Amy looks up from Odd's left and notices that Yumi hasn't touched her tray. "Aren't you hungry, Yumi? You should eat something after all you've been through."

However, Yumi doesn't respond to this, and it's kinda weirding the girl out...Sissi then approaches their table. "Hey, do I smell fish or just cheap perfume?"

"You're such a riot," Sissi says sarcastically to Odd, smiling at Ulrich. "Oh, Ulrich. What do you say we get together after school, huh?" She gives him a hopeful look.

"Get together with you? Very tempting, but uh, not!" Everyone laughs except Yumi and Sissi, the latter glaring at him.

"You're showing off because Yumi's here, huh?" Sissi scoffs at him, glancing down at the girl who still hasn't responded at all. "Mademoiselle likes to keep the competition as far away as she can!"

"That's not true," She argues and then turns to Ulrich. "Why don't you go with her? She's really pretty!"

Odd drops his spoon as his eyes widen. Odd and Ulrich's jaws drop while Amy moves away her cup of water from her lips, the water spitting back out onto her lap.

"Huh?"

"...What?" Amy does a double take after a few seconds.

"Hey...you wouldn't be...trying to make fun of me, would you?" Sissi asks slowly, not knowing what to say either. Yumi looks up at her and then back forward. "No? Huh, great. Thanks a lot, Yumi. Ulrich, I'll be waiting for you in the park after school. Ciao!" She leaves, Herb staring after her in jealousy.

"Hey, what are you trying to pull anyway?" Ulrich turns on Yumi, wondering why on Earth she said that of all things.

"Nothing. Go on. Go out with her. She's been waiting for this for ages. Go on," Amy swallows her meatball whole in shock, starting to choke. Odd turns to her in alarm and hugs her waist from behind, giving her the Heimlich maneuver. She then coughs it up and he pulls away to give her space to breathe.

"What is going on right now?" Amy wheezes out in disbelief.

"Miss Ishiyama," Principal Delmas places a hand on Yumi's shoulder as Amy rubs her throat. "Come to my office right now."

"You okay, Ames?" Odd wonders as they stare at Yumi getting up and leaving.

"I'm fine...thanks, Odd," She says gratefully, earning a smile.

"No problem, Ames."

Back on Lyoko, Aelita looks up at the sphere, standing on a few platforms away from it. "But that thing wasn't there before. It looks like a guardian..." However, she can't see what's in it because she's too far away. After glancing back, she runs up a ramp to get a closer look. However, a laser shoots at her from above. She ducks her head and hugs the wall.

The lasers stop and she glances up to see that two Kankerlots are guarding the sphere. And because they'll shoot at her if she moves again, she's now trapped.

"What's going on with Yumi?" Ulrich asks his friends outside the cafeteria. "Is she mad at me or what? I've never seen her like that."

"She must've had a really serious shock," Jeremy theorizes as Amy rubs her chin.

"You're telling me. I almost lost it myself with what she was saying. It's almost like she's not herself."

"Ulrich!" They turn around to see Herb before they could ask Amy to elaborate. Nicolas is following after him, both of them attempting to look intimidating. "What's the big idea of having a date with Sissi, huh?!"

Jeremy steps up, moving Ulrich away slightly. "This isn't the time for that, you hear, Herb? If you want an explanation, go and ask Sissi."

"Besides, this has nothing to do with you. Unless you want your owner Sissi to get mad at you for sticking your nose where it doesn't belong, buzz off," Amy waves them off and Herb glares at them. Jeremy turns his friends away as they see the boys still staring at them. Amy steps past Jeremy to glare at them back. "Leave us alone!" The brunette says in a more threatening voice as she clenches her fists and they give up, leaving.

"I owe you one, Amy," Ulrich says in relief to her. "I mean, it's Herb, but you just saved me from his whining."

"You don't owe me anything, believe me," Amy glances away in exasperation.

"Okay, I'll leave you to your love stories," Jeremy says a bit passively, since he definitely wants nothing to do with it. "I've got a super psychopathic computer to feed."

"Yumi, this is unspeakable!" Principal Delmas tells the girl in his office. He then slams his fist on the desk. "Our poor nurse Dorothy is still very upset. How could you have done such a thing? I'm giving you two hours of detention in the library to teach you a lesson." However, she does not respond and continues staring at him. "Well, go on!" He points forward, but she still doesn't move or speak. He blinks at her, as he's never recalled her acting this way. "There's something troubling you, Yumi."

She turns to him fully and then looks away. He takes a step forward to the girl. "Care to tell me about it? Yumi, I'm here to help you, that's part of my job." However, she still doesn't utter a word. "Very well. Keep this up and I'll have to inform your parents about the way you're behaving."

"Not my parents," She finally speaks up, turning around to him, her eyes narrowed. They stare at each other as the air is a bit more tense now. She won't speak, and yet she doesn't want her parents to get involved...

"That's enough now, Ms. Ishiyama." He turns to the phone, placing his hand on the receiver. However, she grabs his hand to stop him. "What?! But...get your hand off the phone right now!"

"Not my parents!" She yells again, this time more forceful.

"I won't warn you again. Yumi, if you keep this up, I'll suspend you."

"NO!" She shouts as she grabs the receiver, and a symbol on her forehead appears...

The symbol of XANA.

He gasps sharply as she holds the receiver over her head. She then bludgeons him on the head with it, knocking him out. The dial tone rings as she drops the receiver. She then leaves the room, closing the door behind her. She walks down the hall.

"Hello, Yumi," Jim greets her with a small laugh, but she walks right past him in silence. He then looks a bit offended as he watches her storm off. He rubs his chin, having a weird feeling about her.

Aelita is telling Jeremy what happened with the guardian while he's in his room. "As soon as I got close to the monsters, they started to shoot."

"You shouldn't have left the tower, Aelita," He scolds the virtual girl.

"I know. You're not too mad at me, are you?"

"Mad? No. Besides, I think you made an important discovery. This could have something to do with what happened to both Yumi and Amy," He theorizes, as the whole Yumi thing is just...very off-putting. And Amy still can't remember what happened.

"Should I go back there?" She wonders to the blond.

"No, hold on. I'll send Amy, Ulrich, and Odd as back-up," He reassures the pink-haired girl.

"Jeremy...what happened to Yumi might happen to one of your friends or all of them. If they came to Lyoko now, it could be very dangerous for them. Amy already doesn't remember what could've happened to her and Yumi," Aelita points out to him.

"I guess you're right," He says in agreement, though looking a little worried. "Go on, then, but promise me you'll be careful." The door suddenly opens, alarming him.

"You know me," Aelita says as she then leaves to go investigate. Jeremy turns around to see Fake Yumi at the door.

"Oh, it's you. What did the principal want?"

"We have to go to the factory now," She insists, ignoring the question.

"Oh no, forget it," He denies, rubbing his forehead a little. "First of all, there's no reason to go like Amy said earlier and second, you have to rest," He turns around to his computer while she approaches him.

"I have to go to the scanner room."

"No, nobody's going back to Lyoko until I give the order," He replies while looking at his screen. "It's too dangerous. I've got some tests I have to run first." He just wants to make sure he's covering all his bases before sending them there. She turns the chair around so that he's facing her.

"Hey," She leans in closer, to his stupefied expression. "It's important, you hear? I have to go back to the scanner room," She places a hand on his shoulder, her voice more flirty now.

"Uh, duh, Yumi," He says in a flustered tone as she smiles. "W-What are you trying to-"

"Shh," She shushes him and then takes off his glasses. "There."

He blushes as Fake Yumi's getting way too closer for comfort now. "I, uh...I'm not...sure it's a good idea. Y-You should go home and get some rest," He has no idea why he's so flustered when it's just his friend, but something about her behavior is just...getting him a little embarrassed.

"Come on. Take me to the scanner room," She whispers as she leans in closer, causing him to blush more and to sweat.

"Uh, b-b-b-b-m-m-you should go home and take a bath!" He suggests as she leans in to kiss him. "No, a cold shower! Very cold! Very, very, very cold! It'll calm you down!" He stutters and Ulrich opens the door, followed by Odd and Amy.

"Jeremy, hurry up, we gotta get going-" All of them gasp in shock at the scene, as they're witnessing Yumi almost kissing Jeremy! Both of them turn around in alarm, both of them with their mouths wide open. Ulrich turns around, furious as he leaves.

"Ulrich! No, wait! I-it's not what you think!" Jeremy goes after him, leaving Odd and Amy with their 'friend.' "I swear, Ulrich, wait!"

"Bravo," Odd comments to her.

"Yumi, how could you?" Amy demands, but Fake Yumi stays silent once again.

"Hmph! Come on, Ames," Odd grabs her hand and walks off. Fake Yumi chuckles to herself, as she's done her damage control.

"Odd?" Amy murmurs once they're away from the door, looking down with her face flushed.

"Yeah?" He mutters a bit angrily, still bitter over what they saw.

"...You're still holding my hand..."

His eyes widen in realization as he turns around to his hand interlocked with hers. "O-Oh, sorry," He lets go, blushing as he rubs the back of his neck. For a brief moment, it was almost...natural for him to do so.

"It's okay," She looks away bashfully, whistling a little.

Aelita peeks at the tower from an upper platform. "Okay, time to go," She runs off after a few seconds, and immediately the Kankerlots open fire on her. She runs up a pathway while avoiding them. She then slips into a cave, pressing her back against the wall. She then looks to her left to see a ramp. Aelita slowly approaches it, and sees an open passage above that leads to the guardian.

The boys and Amy are in science class, and all of them are avoiding sitting with Jeremy. "And we can also observe cases of part genesis among certain insects. This phenomenon is relatively common and comparable to a sort of natural cloning. That is to say, the animal gives birth to a replica of itself. An exact replica with no differences between them," Ms. Hertz turns around to write on the chalkboard. "Scientists have succeeded in employing this process with rabbits."

Jeremy turns around to his friends, and Odd blows a raspberry at him. Amy just looks away towards her notebook once he lays eyes on her. She then glances up at Jeremy to glare at him. "Alright, we'll continue with this subject tomorrow." The bell rings exactly at 4:30 and everyone takes their leave.

"Ulrich!" Jeremy grabs his arm. "You have to listen."

"I don't wanna listen to you," Ulrich grabs his arm back.

He sighs as Odd and Amy stand next to him. They briefly glance at him before going over to Ulrich, the girl hugging her books to her chest. "Something's not right with Yumi, she's not in her normal state. I don't know what she's been through, but she's traumatized. And Amy probably gets it too, she was there."

Amy looks away as nothing comes to mind still on what happened. Odd and Amy stare at him while Ulrich has a moment to think. There are some strange things happening with Yumi, but even then he's still trying to shake the feeling of heartbreak of when he saw them together. Jeremy is his friend, though, and he hopes to try and understand what he saw. "Okay," He relents as he turns around. "Let's go."

Aelita has made it to the top, now practically face-to-face with the guardian. She climbs up, approaching it slowly. She tries not to get the attention of the Kankerlots while she has a closer look. She sees something, and her eyes widen in shock.

"Oh no!" She cries out, one of the Kankerlots hearing her and firing. Aelita makes a break for it, yelping.

"What do you think this phenomenon is?" Ulrich wonders as they all walk back to Jeremy's room.

"I wish I could tell you, but I have no idea. Aelita's checking it out," He explains to him as they reach his door. "It could be XANA's doing," He puts the key in the lock and uses it, but notices that it's still open. "Oh no, I forgot to lock the door." He opens it and they gasp sharply as they see Jeremy's entire room trashed, his computer destroyed as well. "All my equipment!" Jeremy laments as they examine the damage.

"You think Sissi's behind all this?" Ulrich theorizes as he stares.

"Why would she wanna do it?" Jeremy questions while glancing behind him.

"If anything, she'd trash your room, not Jeremy's. And she doesn't have any motive, she hasn't interacted with Jeremy at all today. She was too focused on Yumi helping you get a date with her," Amy speaks up, jerking a thumb to Ulrich.

"Hey, maybe it's Herb," Odd suggests to the three. "He sure was mad when we saw him today."

"Again, no, Herb was mad at Ulrich, not Jeremy. Why would he trash Jeremy's room if he wanted to get back at Ulrich? If anything, it makes more sense to trash mine and not his since I told him off earlier," Amy points out, crossing her arms.

"Amy's right, neither of them have strong motives—wait, who was the last one to leave this room?" Jeremy turns around to Ulrich and Amy.

"Oh no," Ulrich looks disappointed as they all know the true culprit who's been missing for a while and not with them. Fake Yumi was left alone in Jeremy's room after Ulrich had stormed out, and Jeremy had followed after his friends. "No, that's impossible," He shakes his head in denial. "Not Yumi."

Odd just scoffs a bit in disbelief. "You gotta admit, man. She's been acting weird lately."

"Yeah, ever since her 'disappearance' on Lyoko, she's been weird. I'm sorry, Ulrich, but we all know that she's guilty. This has to be connected with her behavior," Amy gestures to Jeremy's ruined stuff.

"Okay, Yumi hasn't been herself lately," Ulrich reluctantly agrees with him. "But still...the enemy's XANA. Jeremy's right. XANA's launched an attack. And I'm sure all this...other stuff is to distract us while he's calmly and quietly getting of Aelita."

"But that still doesn't explain Yumi..." Amy rubs her chin in thought, wondering still what's happened to her.

"Aelita, she's all alone on Lyoko!" Jeremy realizes that she's still investigating the guardian by herself, probably being attacked. "And we can't get to her!" Fake Yumi then appears in the doorway.

"Are we going to the scanner room?"

Jeremy blinks at her, narrowing his eyes. She reads the room, noticing that all of her friends don't look too happy with her right now. The air is tense, but they decide to hold off on accusing her for now. Right now, they have bigger priorities.

"...Yeah, let's go," Jeremy finally says in a thin tone.

Once they reach the factory, the four go down to the scanner room, the air still tense in the elevator. Fake Yumi glances at the three, Odd moving Amy away gently from the girl. He just got a weird feeling, and doesn't want Amy near her. Jeremy starts up the procedure and they stand in front of the scanners.

"Go on, do your stuff, Jeremy," Odd calls out and while he speaks, Ulrich glances over to Fake Yumi. She has no expression whatsoever.

"Are you ready? Here we go. Amy, you go first with Odd and Ulrich." Amy walks past Yumi, both of the girls glaring at each other. Yumi watches as Amy steps into the scanner. "Transfer Ulrich. Transfer Odd. Transfer Amy. Scanner Odd. Scanner Ulrich. Scanner Amy." The scanners close as Fake Yumi grins to herself. All three are scanned as Fake Yumi glances to the side. "Virtualization."

The trio virtualize near the cave while Fake Yumi steps inside. "Transfer Yumi. Scanner Yumi." However, she stops the scanner from closing in on her and pulls the doors open. She steps out, looking back at the scanners. "Virtualization," Jeremy taps the key and they wait for her...but nothing happens. Ulrich looks around in confusion.

"Where's Yumi?"

"What?" Jeremy asks in alarm. "She's not with you?"

"No, she wasn't transferred."

Amy narrows her eyes in suspicion. "So all the stuff she's done combined with not being virtualized? This is really weird," She tells the boys.

Aelita runs from the Kankerlots and Odd hears the lasers. He points right up ahead. "Over there!" Aelita jumps over a rock and lands in front of them. She looks back as a laser is fired at her, but Ulrich deflects it with his sword. The laser flies back and hits the Kankerlot to destroy it.

"Laser arrow!" Odd fires one and it destroys the second.

"Shivering Spears!" Amy points her hand to fire tiny icicles at the last one, which explodes.

"Hurry, we've got to go and free Yumi," She tells the trio.

"Yumi? Yumi's not-"

"The real Yumi," Aelita interrupts the confused Ulrich. "The one who's here on Lyoko," She points up at the guardian. "The other one was created by XANA." The real Yumi is inside the guardian, but she's unconscious. As soon as Amy lays eyes on it, she gasps.

Yumi screamed and Amy turned around in alarm. She saw the guardian going up to Yumi. "Huh?! What is that thing?" She asked in alarm, and Yumi threw her fan at it, but the guardian actually absorbed it.

"Amy, get out of here, now!" Yumi warned the fairy. Amy narrowed her eyes and instead, she fired her Shivering Spears. However, they also had no effect on the guardian, which flew forward and swallowed up Yumi. Then it flew away with her. "Oh my god, Yumi!" She shouted and flew after the guardian, but it shined a light in her eyes, causing her to fall. She landed in front of the tower, groaning as she rubbed her eyes. She looked around to see Yumi and the guardian gone. "Huh...? Yumi!"

"Amy?" Ulrich's voice brings her back to reality. "What's wrong?"

"I...I remember what happened now," She tells them slowly. "When I was on look-out, that thing attacked us and then took Yumi. But before I could stop it, it flashed a light in my eyes and then after I was devirtualized, I couldn't remember a thing."

"So then how weren't you able to remember it? You're not a clone created by XANA," Odd raises a brow at her.

"XANA must've done something to her memory, but how?" Aelita theorizes and Ulrich turns to her.

"What happened than other times we've been to Lyoko? You gotta think, Amy."

She rubs her chin in thought and then gasps. "I…I had to devirtualize myself! Jeremy had left to check on Yumi, so I had to send myself back," She explains to the three.

"That's how he must've done it. XANA must've implanted a wipe on you so that you'd forget as soon as you were sent back to your world," Aelita says and Amy narrows her eyes.

"So not only does he mess with Yumi, he made me forget the whole thing?" She then turns to Odd in confusion. "...And how DO you know I'm not a clone?"

"I just do," Odd winks and she rolls her eyes.

"Jeremy, whatever you do, don't go anywhere near Yumi. Do you hear me, Jeremy?" Aelita warns, but he's no longer sitting in the chair. "Jeremy?" Jeremy's already in the elevator, pressing the button to investigate what happened. However, he doesn't know that Fake Yumi is a clone, and right now she's pulling off the cables from the scanners. Jeremy waits impatiently for the doors to go down, the cables sparking from the scanner. The doors finally open and he notices her disabling the scanner.

"Yumi! What are you doing?"

She gasps, dropping the cables and holding her head. He walks up to her, bending down to the cables. However, she was just getting his guard down and she then punches him in the face.

Ulrich turns to Odd while they're on a platform below the guardian. "Now!"

"Laser arrow!" Odd fires at one of the Kankerlots, but misses. The other one fires and he flips away from the lasers. Ulrich runs off to avoid them, and Amy ducks her head, pressing her back against an ice wall.

Fake Yumi laughs evilly as she stands over Jeremy's unconscious body.

They reach the guardian, Amy and Ulrich standing in front of the sphere. The Kankerlot turns to them, Ulrich holding his sword tight. The Kankerlot turns around just as Amy holds up her hands. It fires and Amy raises up her glowing hands. "Glacier!" She sends Ulrich up in the air by summoning one underneath him. He flips as the first laser is blocked by the wall. Another one is fired, but Ulrich swings his sword, using the walls near him to ricochet the laser to defeat the Kankerlot.

"It's a guardian," Aelita explains as she joins them. "A sort of digital jail adapted to the body imprisoned in it."

Ulrich hits it with his sword, but it doesn't work. Amy pulls out her scythe, and attacks, but it also doesn't do much. "We can't destroy it with our weapons."

"Let's see if powers will work," Amy holds up her hand, firing her tiny icicles at it, but still nothing. "Aw man, not even my nature powers work on this thing?"

"I can create a clone, a false image of Yumi," Aelita suggests to her friends. "We can try to convince the guardian that he's mistaken."

They all stare at Yumi inside of it, hoping that it'll work since they don't have any more options.

"Okay, let's go."

Aelita starts singing, bending down and lifting up her head. Soon, a holographic clone of Yumi appears next to the guardian. It moves around and then explodes, Odd bracing himself while keeping guard. He glances up behind him and chuckles a bit.

"Huh. Wow! Piece of cake."

Fake Yumi steps past the unconscious Jeremy, standing near the wires of one of the scanners.

Yumi's vision comes back to her as she sees Ulrich standing over her. "Yumi," He says in concern and she sits up.

"Oh, what? What happened?" She wonders and Odd jumps, landing on a platform.

"Sorry, no time to explain. We've got to deactivate the tower."

"Jeremy's not responding," Aelita states as she stands up. "I don't understand, I get the feeling that something's wrong," She says, her voice in worry for him.

"He's all alone with the other one. If she destroys the scanner, it's all over," Ulrich looks down solemnly.

"He won't last long, we have to do something!" Amy exclaims while slamming her fist against her palm.

"The other? The other what? Who wants to wreck the scanner?" Yumi is extremely confused.

"The other...you," Odd reveals and she raises a brow.

Fake Yumi is pulling the cables off the second scanner, XANA's symbol flashing from her forehead.

"What if something has happened to Jeremy and what if we don't manage to deactivate the tower in time?" Yumi asks the others once she's been told of what's been going on. "This is serious, listen. One of us has to back to reality right away. We don't have much time!"

"Right, I'll go," Ulrich offers immediately.

"No, it's better if I go. I don't know how many life points I have left, Ulrich. And if I only have five or ten, I won't be of much use to you here. And also, I have a little matter to deal with that only I can settle," She explains to him. "It's between me and myself."

"Alright, Yumi!" Amy cheers, pumping a fist. "And while you're there, give her a good punch for me. I knew I didn't like her."

"Then you go. But first, you have to devirtualize yourself. The question is how?" Ulrich turns to Amy, who immediately shakes her head.

"Mm-mm, uh-uh. I already had to devirtualize myself when Yumi got attacked. Don't make me do it again to a friend," She crosses her arms.

"She's right, Ulrich. You're armed, aren't you?" Yumi implores, Ulrich glancing down to his sword.

Fake Yumi is still pulling just as the real Yumi appears in the last scanner. "You know what?" Fake Yumi looks up at her. "You look just like me when I'm having a bad day."

They stare at each other intensely as they take fighting stances. Fake Yumi growls, sweating and then striking first. She knocks Yumi into the open scanner.

Odd crawls to the edge of the platform, looking down to see three Kankerlots guarding the activated tower. "Uh oh. We've got company," He sings a little. One of them appears right next to him, but he doesn't see it.

"Odd, watch out. On your right!" Aelita warns, but it fires. Odd jumps up and gets hit, landing on his back. Ulrich rolls to a stop in front of him.

"How many life points do I have left?" He asks as the Kankerlot attacks again, but he dodges it with the sword.

"I don't know, but it's gotta be less than ten by now," Odd states as Amy helps him up.

"I hope Yumi's gotten to Jeremy," Amy murmurs and then flies up as a Kankerlot focuses on her next.

Jeremy wakes up to see the Fake Yumi trying to open up the hatch. She manages to pull it up, Yumi jumping into action. Fake Yumi chuckles at her charging, using the hatch door to block the punch. She then uses it to send Yumi flying to the ground.

"Oh, Yumi!" Jeremy calls out in concern while looking up.

The Kankerlot fires and hits Odd again, but he flips around to dodge the rest. "I'm still here?" He wonders, his torso sparking. "Well, I guess I messed up on my calculations."

"You always were a washout in math," Ulrich points out to him.

"Right, but thanks to you, I can count to three."

"If I had to guess, Odd's down to 10, and Ulrich's got at least 20 considering how many hits you both took," Amy says while flying back down to them. A Kankerlot fires and gets her on the side. She grunts as she lands between the boys. "And I'm probably down to 25 now..."

Yumi gasps as her clone is about to advance an attack on her. Jeremy gasps and rushes over, pushing Fake Yumi down the open hatch. She screams as she falls, and Jeremy looks down. He then gasps at what he sees.

"Triplicate!" Ulrich calls out while running, all of them on their way to the Kankerlots. The monsters destroy a clone, the other two jumping up. One of them swings and destroys one, while the other manages to defeat the second. "Fusion!" The clone fuses with the original, and he puts his sword away. "Aelita, you're up."

She runs past her friends and goes inside.

A hand emerges from inside the hatch. Yumi gasps as she watches her clone come out of the hatch, grabbing Jeremy by his shirt.

Aelita walks to the middle of the platform.

Fake Yumi tries to pull him and he screams. Yumi crawls over to them.

Aelita floats to the top. Once she reaches it, she walks up and presses her hand to the interface.

Aelita

Fake Yumi grabs him again, Yumi almost over to them. She gasps as Fake Yumi holds the boy over her head.

Code

Fake Yumi laughs by what she's planning to do, looking down the hatch. "Oh nooooooo!" Yumi screeches out as she realizes what was going to happen.

Lyoko

The tower is deactivated, but Jeremy falls down the hatch. Luckily, he set up a time reversion before he left the supercomputer to go off once the tower was deactivated. White light engulfs everything and everything is turned back to normal.

They all sit in Jeremy's room. "That's fantastic, the fact that XANA was able to materialize another Yumi proves one thing," Aelita explains to everyone. "It proves that materialization is really possible."

"That's crazy. XANA's helping out with our materialization research!" Yumi comments in disbelief as she and Ulrich sit on Jeremy's bed. Amy sits with Odd on the floor, a leg raised to her chest.

"Back to work then, Einstein," Odd smiles up at him.

"No sweat," Jeremy jerks a thumb at his computer with a grin. "I'll start programming again right now."

"But why bother? If I were you, I'd go and see XANA. He's got the answer, so ask him!"

"I wouldn't trust him," Ulrich denies Odd's suggestion, shaking his head. "Look at the Yumi he sent us."

"Oh yeah, she wasn't that different from the original," Odd comments, earning a snort from Amy.

"Then how come you didn't say that at all before?" She glances at him with a sly smile. He huffs and tosses her a candy bag.

"Take this."

"Thanks!" She says as she opens it up, completely distracted now.

"Odd, she's not Kiwi," Yumi shakes her head slowly.

"Then she'd make an adorable puppy," Odd jokes, Amy winking at him.

"Maybe, but my statement still stands."

"She sure was different," Jeremy changes the subject. "She didn't fool me. I saw the difference. As soon as she started to flirt with me."

"Really?" Yumi blinks with a knowing look. "Are you sure? Do you have any proof it's the real me you're looking at?" She teases and walks over, taking off his glasses.

"Uh, w-what are you doing?" He stammers and she giggles a bit as he blushes.

"Ah no, cut it out," Ulrich walks up to her. "I've had enough of that for one day."

"You're not jealous, are you, Ulrich?"

His mouth drops open and Amy laughs, hugging her stomach.

"Sure looks like it," Odd gives a thumbs up, and everyone starts laughing except him. He just glares at his friends as they enjoy the look on his face.
