The only places Peg had only been to on this cruise were her cabin, the Seashell Café for her meals, the swimming pool, and the Seabed Theater for her safety drill. If it wasn't for Max giving her the tour, she wouldn't have even bothered exploring the rest of it because she couldn't see the point because even though she was on vacation she couldn't get over how miserable her life was and that she had no boyfriend and how Pistol was being too much hard work and everything and she doubted that exploring the rest of the cruise and seeing what it had to offer would help. But because it was Max and he worked on this cruise, Peg decided to be more open-minded and trust him and let him show her around.
Max first showed Peg the Sea Gym and Spa on Deck Twelve. She looked at the gym and saw lots of weight machines, dumbbells, exercise mats and aerobic machines, including machine bikes, rowing machines, treadmills and cross walkers among them. She was impressed with it and she was also impressed with the large spa next to it and saw many people having massages and mud baths and getting waxed among the many spa treatments they provided.
Then Max show Peg the Sea Library on Deck Thirteen where there were lots of books of many genres to read, which she liked a lot. Then he showed her the Sea Games Room, where there were many games to play like jigsaws, chess and Monopoly among them. She liked that room a lot. Then she briefly saw the kids' game room. Even though she wasn't going to use it on this vacation, she decided that this room could be perfect for her grandchildren if they along with PJ and Lucy would come with her on the next cruise.
Then Max showed Peg the Sunken Gold Restaurant on Deck Fifteen which the restaurant that served the cruise's highest quality food, which she interested her a lot. Then he showed her the Kelp Forest Restaurant on Deck Eight, which was the cruise's main restaurant, and she liked how it looked and what food the menu was offering.
Then Max showed Peg the Sea Cave Gift Shop on Deck Seven, which she liked looking around. Then next to it was the small Coral Café, which only served hot drinks with teas, coffees and hot chocolates among them.
Then lunchtime came and there was only one more place to visit on Deck Fourteen and that was the Trident Café, where they served hot foods such as burgers, nachos and barbecue ribs among them. And that was where Max and Peg sat down to have their lunch. Max had a delicious Greek lamb burger with fries and a cup of coffee while Peg had barbecue ribs with fries and a cup of tea.
"Thank you for the amazing tour, Max," Peg said. She really enjoyed it. She liked the cruise more and she couldn't wait to make the most out of it. "Oh, and while I remember, thank you so much for cleaning my cabin. It's very beautiful and clean.
"It's all part of the service, Peg," Max said humbly. Then his mobile phone rang. "Excuse me." Then he answered his phone. "Hello? Yes, Mr. Horsecollar? Yeah? I see. Oh, dear. Yeah, I think I can do it. Ok. I'll be there immediately." Then he turned his phone off and turned back to Peg. "I'm so sorry, Peg, but I have to go."
"What do you have to do, Max?" Peg asked.
"It's something to do with tonight's show," Max replied. "It's at eight o'clock tonight. See you later."
Peg decided that she would go to see tonight's show that Max was helping to work on after she had her dinner at the Sunken Gold Restaurant.
So Peg went to the Seabed Theater and managed to get a seat at ten to eight. She had a delicious dinner in the Sunken Gold Restaurant; she had a bowl of lovely mushroom soup for her starter, she had a gorgeous chicken in the basket with fries for her main course and she had a tasty slice of mint chocolate cake and vanilla ice cream for her dessert and she had two glasses of nice red wine. And she had a couple of free bread rolls as well.
Eight o'clock arrived and the show started. It was a comedy show full of comedians telling many funny jokes or doing many slapstick scenes. To Peg's amazement, Max was part of the cast. She never thought he would be. She thought his job would be like sorting out the lights or the music or the comedy props. But she was glad that he was part of the cast because she liked seeing him because he was being so funny. Everyone in it was funny, but Max was the funniest of them all. He told the funniest jokes, he did the funniest slapstick scenes, he made the funniest silly sounds and he did the funniest impressionists. The whole audience loved the show, especially Peg.
Peg managed to greet Max as he came from backstage. "So this was your job?" she asked. "Being a comedian for tonight?"
"Yep, Peg," Max replied. "The comedian who I took over became ill and Mr. Horsecollar, the Cruise Director, needed another funny guy who could take over immediately and they were really struggling, so he wanted me to go over to audition. They were very impressed with my audition and immediately had me."
"No wonder," Peg said. "I remember all the amazing stuff you did for your high school talent shows. I knew you were good back then and now you're just as good now."
"Thanks, Peg. Well, I have to get up very early in the morning tomorrow, so I'd better get back to bed."
Peg yawned. "I'd better get to bed, too, Max. I've got the Bahamas to explore tomorrow."
"I won't give you any spoilers, but trust me, Peg, you will love it. And I know because I've visited it plenty of times and I have never been disappointed by it."
"Have you now?" Peg asked. "Well, I shall take your word for it. Good night, Max."
"Good night, Peg."
Then they both headed to their cabins.
When Peg was back into her cabin and got ready for bed, she thought about her day and how much she enjoyed it and how it had been a very long time since she felt this happy. She thought it was because she saw Max. She was very grateful for everything he did for her today, including cleaning her cabin, giving her a tour of the cruise and entertaining her with live comedy that night. She didn't think this day could have gone any better. She couldn't remember being this happy, especially after Pete cheated on her.
Max also felt the same way as he got ready for the night in his own cabin. He couldn't remember being this happy, especially after he discovered that his last girlfriend Mona had cheated on him. He thought it was because Peg was a passenger on this cruise and he could see more of her. He never forgot his crush on her since he met her when he and his dad Goofy became her neighbors. Even though he knew she was married to Pete at the time, that didn't stop Max fancying Peg and having a secret crush on her. Despite his crush on her, he still viewed her as the mother figure and he was lucky to have her as one as well as being her neighbor and being the best friend of her son PJ. He was very sad that she had to leave Spoonerville with Pistol and they were no longer neighbors but when he and his dad Goofy went to Mouseton with PJ to catch up with her and they always had a good time. Looking back, he realized he had a crush on Peg before he knew what crushes were, even before the one he had on his very first girlfriend Roxanne.
