*-Rudeus-*
I patted Yoko's fur as I hopped off their back. They purred as I scratched their ears.
'Thank you very much Master!'
"Welcome back master Rudeus."
"Thank you Alfonse. Where's Philip? I need to ask him about something."
"The young master is in his study. He's starting the preparations for the young madame's 10th birthday party."
"I see. Thanks for the info."
A noble's birthday wasn't like the one I had when I turned five. Especially a noble's tenth birthday. It'd be the day that Eris entered high society. Actual preparations wouldn't began for another year or so, but the preparations being done now would ensure that everything was ready to be transported and shipped here. Anything from another continent may barely make it in time for the party, so it was normal for noble's to get everything sorted out a year or two before hand.
After all. A poor entrance into societies' eyes wouldn't just cast a bad look on the child, but their family as well.
I floated up the mansion and Yoko melded with my shadow. I went up to the second floor and knocked on the window. The window opened to Philip's usual smiling face, but if I didn't know any better I'd think it looked strained.
"Rudeus. To what do I owe the pleasure?"
"I have a matter to discuss with you. May I come in?"
Philip moved out of the way.
"Of course, please do. You know there is a door for a reason."
I flew in and sat in one of the chairs in front of the desk.
"My little sister was hoping to come stay here with me soon."
"Your sister? I'm sure it isn't the youngest so it must be the one named Aurora?"
"It is."
Philip sat down and rubbed his chin.
"I'd be providing her a room to stay and we'd have an extra mouth to feed. What if I were to say no?"
I tilted my head.
"Well if you did that I'd have no reason to stay here. I'd finish out my contract and return out without ever giving you a second glance. Before this wouldn't have had any lasting consequences, but things are different now. You're the head of the Boreas family and it won't be much longer till people realize you're back in Fittoa and not in the capital. What with your employees buying groceries and preparing all these meals and stuff. Currently you're considered off-limits because you're allied with the head of the Notos family and not one, but two of the seven world powers. But what would happen if that partnership were to end? This family you've worked oh so hard to get back would be thrown to the wolves."
Philip's smile disappeared.
"Is this a threat?"
"Of course not. All I'm saying is that I could cut off our partnership once my contract is over, and without me and Phoebe as a deterrent you'd all be in danger."
"We have Ghislaine."
"Yes and that worked out so well last time, didn't it?"
"I could say the same thing about you."
"True, but hey! Remind me real quick. Who was it that escaped the constraints made specifically for him? Who was it that found and informed the others where the kidnappers were?"
I let the thought settle into Philip's mind.
"Let her come, let her stay, and I'll make it worth your while. Deal?"
I held my hand out and widened my smile. Philip took my hand with another strained smile.
"Deal."
I stood up and walked to the door.
"Oh and Rudeus?"
I turned to look back at Philip.
"Do anything to hurt my family, and you'll regret it."
"Oh Philip." Yoko crept out of my shadow and growled at Philip as the carpet under him started burning with blue flame. "We both know you'll be the one regretting it in the end."
I extinguished the flame and opened the door.
"Besides. I actually like you people."
"Good to hear."
I closed the door and wandered the hallways. It's crazy what you can hear when people don't know you've returned. The maids hadn't been informed of my return, and since I didn't come through the front door no one had seen me.
I came across a door slightly cracked open with voices leaking through it. Normally I would've kept walking, but the topic of their discussion amused me.
"What do you think of sir Rudeus?"
"The young miss's new teacher? I heard he's one of the seven great powers."
"Really? I suppose it's not too shocking. You know when he first came here there was a night where his room reeked of blood. I thought of the worst and got Ghislaine, but we ran into him in front of the door when we got back. He went in the room and all Ghislaine found was a small rat in the far corner. There's no way a single animal could make that strong of a smell."
"I wonder what that was about?"
"Who knows?! Have you ever went by his room in the morning?"
"No. Why?"
"The smell of lust is so strong! It's even stronger than the musk in lord Sauros's tower. Then it'll just disappear before he opens the door."
"Huh. Perhaps he wishes to be serviced? If his lust is that strong it may only be a matter of time until he comes for one of us."
'Okay I'm gonna stop that before it starts. Yoko? Clear things up please. Just don't kill them. Do it with words.'
'Yes sir.'
Yoko rose from my shadow and entered the room.
I continued to wander the halls until I came across the library. There was still some time until Eris's history lesson so I had time for a good read or two.
I walked in and marveled at the size of the place. I hadn't seen a library this big since I lived with the leviathans. I looked through the books and eventually found a chunk of books in a corner of the library explaining the history of this world.
I stayed floating up in the top left corner of the library as I read.
Essentially, the world is split into seven worlds, and each world was ruled by a god.
The human world, ruled by the Human God.
The demon world, ruled by the Demon God.
The beast world, ruled by the Beast God.
The dragon world, ruled by the Dragon God.
The ocean world, ruled by the Sea God.
The sky world, ruled by the Sky God.
The barren world, ruled by the Barren God.
These worlds were separated by barriers. They formed a six-sided cube with the barren world placed in the core of the world.
One day, an evil Dragon God was born and destroyed the barriers separating the worlds. He went on a rampage and destroyed the other worlds with his 5 dragon commanders. When one world remained his commanders turned on him. Their fight ended in a draw and destroyed the dragon world. All the survivors fled to the human world, since it was the only world left they had access to.
Over time the races settled down in their own places, but the humans and demons fought over the land they wanted. It grew into a huge war that ended with the human's victory. Humans did what they did best and got high on power. They fought more wars with other races. In the end this war ended with the large continent that was shared between the humans and demons being split into the central and demon continent.
Some time passed and would you believe it?
"-orn!"
Another war broke out! It all happened when-
A block of solid red slammed into my head.
"Huh? Oh Raion. What's up?"
"Let me guess. He was in the library?"
I recognized Phoebe's voice as she spoke through Raion's Kumu.
"Yeah."
Raion sighed.
"You could've warned us sooner. We've been searching for him all day."
"You know how much he likes books. I'd say it's equally your fault for not banning him from the library."
"Gasp! You can't ban me from the library!"
Raion pinched the bridge of his nose.
"Thorn how long do you think you've been in here?"
"Oh I don't know... bout half an hour?"
"Thorn dinner ended 20 minutes ago."
"... Huh?"
So uuuuuh. I had apparently been reading up on this world's history for the past 15 hours. No one thought to look up at the ceiling when checking the library. My spell that contained the scent of my arm was masking my whole body, so the maids couldn't smell me.
Raion thought to call Phoebe, and she told him to look everywhere in the library. That included checking inside the shelves to see if I had shrunk down and made a fort of books. I was now officially banned from the library until my lessons with Eris were done for the day, or if I had someone to supervise me to make sure I didn't miss them. Dinner was delicious though, even if it was a bit cold.
Two weeks passed in the blink of an eye and I was stepping through an ice mirror to get home as early in the morning as I could.
Yuki silently bowed to me as I entered through the mirror into Phoebe's bedroom.
'Welcome back life giver. The creator is downstairs in the kitchen.'
'Thank you Yuki.'
Yoko came out of my shadow as I walked downstairs. He and Yuki sat down to chat for a bit. By my estimate it was about 5 in the morning.
I heard sizzling as I got down the last step. Kumus in a variety of shapes and colors flew around carrying plates and utensils. Some were being placed on the table, but most of the dishes were put into temperature-controlling containers that I made a few days earlier.
"Welcome back Thorn. How was work?"
Some Kumus moved aside and I saw Phoebe in a nightgown and apron cooking at a stove.
I sat at the table and admired the view.
"It's been fine. Eris and Ghislaine are getting better at dnd, so that's nice."
"They didn't come with you?"
"No. Philip seems to have realized I'm not a pawn he can use however he wants. Once he realized I wouldn't hesitate to cut all ties with him once my contract was over I've started seeing him less and less."
Phoebe scoffed and sat across from me.
"I don't like the guy. He's... fishy."
"He's always making schemes in that head of his. At first he just wanted to be the family head to keep his family safe and intact, but even I don't know what he's planning next."
"To change to a nicer and more fun topic," Phoebe pulled out two wristbands, "You asked for these?"
The objects in question being Cyrus and Aurora's Minikyus. Cyrus had grown rather attached to his and Aurora had finally learned how to change her's shape. It was only by a little bit though.
"Yep. If I work fast enough we can get their Minikyus back to them before they wake up. They won't even know we took 'em!"
I placed the two Minikyus on the table. Cyrus's flared to life and morphed into a cat girl warrior looking avatar. She had tan skin, short grey hair, and an average chest. She wore a simple tunic and pants with a cloak hiding most of her torso.
'It's good to see you life giver. And to you as well creator. May I ask why I'm here?'
"Simple really. I'm gonna give you another upgrade. This time by making it so your consciousness can be transferred to a fully upgraded Kumu."
'Truly? Oh what a wonderful day! Now I can truly serve my master. I'm always stuck in this small form. I can't do anything for him.'
"Glad to hear you're excited about it."
Phoebe pulled out two dormant Kumu's. I carefully placed the Minikyus on the Kumus and the colors shifted to match each other. One orange and one pink.
The pink one was Aurora's. It was one of the first Minikyus made by Phoebe, and Aurora had been wearing it for the past five years.
Once the colors matched we had Yuki put the Minikyus back, but first we separated Torah's consciousness so she could inhabit her new body.
"So we've got Torah. Did you get Edmund?"
'Right here sir.'
I turned around a butler was floating behind me. From the bottom up he was wearing black dress shoes, black pants, a black sleeveless vest over a long sleeved white button up shirt, and he had a pair of white gloves covering his hands. His skin was unusually pale and his grey hair was pulled into a bun behind his hair.
"Good to see you Edmund."
'The creator has told me I'll be granted a master tomorrow. My excitement bubbles like an unattended pot of boiling water.'
Neat metaphor, but back to the matter at hand.
"Now that we have everything we need are we good to get started or do you need to keep cooking?"
"We're good to start making the new Kumus. I told Zenith I'd cover the cooking, and the Kumus know what to do. I got Aurora to tell me some of her favorite foods. I got Kuroi to track down the ingredients with Erebus's help. He's been exploring the world ever since he helped us deal with Perugius, so he's been a huge help."
"I'll need to thank him then. Now let's get started. It's hard to create a new branch of Kumus in one morning."
We spent the next two hours trying to create Kumus stronger than ever before. It was going both good and not good. Essentially we were basing this whole project on Yoko. We wanted Kumus as strong if not stronger than Yoko. The problem with this was that Yoko's biggest strength was being created to empower space, life, and water magic, but we wanted these Kumus to be neutral. Plus Yoko was two Mumu mixed into one.
We fused two Kumu together and tried taking away the Kumus ability to defuse, which did leave extra room to make them stronger, but they didn't quite reach level we were looking for.
We stopped when Zenith entered the room.
"Hey Phoebe! I was just coming to check- oh my."
We snapped out of our experimental daze and looked around. Floating all around the room were crystals made of mana. We had been releasing and transporting so much mana that it was starting to crystallize around us. I used space magic to gather the crystals all in one area.
"Hey momma. Sorry about the mess. We're making the twins' birthday presents."
"I hope it goes well. How is the food coming along Phoebe?"
Phoebe stood up and walked to the containers.
"Seems we're all set."
"Oh my. You were able to cook that fast?"
Phoebe giggled as she scratched the back of her neck.
"I've actually been cooking all night. Since the boxes Thorn made will keep the food nice and fresh I decided to cook it as soon as I could."
"I see. Well thank you very much for covering the food. It leaves Lilia and I a lot of time to make sure everything else is ready. I'm loving these decorations that you and Kuroi have made. I'll get out of your hair now. Have fun!"
Mom closed the door and we got back to business.
"How about you both enter the Kumus? Once they're active we'll be able to better understand what we're working with."
Edmund and Torah touched the dormant Kumus and both formed new bodies. Edmund stayed more or less the same. From the looks of things his hair grew a bit since his bun was larger. Torah on the other hand was now 5'5 with hair that went to her shoulders instead of stopping at her ears.
"Looking good you 2. Your power has increased exponentially. We just need one more little push."
"May I make a suggestion master?"
Yoko came down the stairs. Yuki was sitting on their shoulders playing with their ears.
"I'm all ears."
"Right. Might I suggest creating more room in their cores through the use of space magic? If all you need is more storage space to increase their power then could you not create it?"
...
Phoebe and I looked at each other.
"Why do we never think of the easy solutions."
"No idea. But we've got our answer. Let's do this and then go hang out with the others."
"Agreed."
I increased the room in the cores of Edmund and Torah. With all the extra space we were able to easily increase their power to the level we wanted.
They both had a sudden flash of light pass over them. The light faded and once again Edmund's only change seemed to be that his hair grew a bit. Torah's only change was that she grew a bit. In height I mean.
"That's it! How do the two of you feel?"
Edmund looked at his right hand and clenched a fist, and then he unclenched it. He smiled at me.
"Better than ever."
Torah put her hands on her knees and arched her back to the point where all the vertebrae in her spine popped. Her ears twitched and her tail wagged.
"Yeah! I'm feeling great!"
"Good to hear. It seems that obtaining a voice is based on power. Let either of us know if you feel off. We've never expanded a core before, so this is unknown territory."
"Understood creator. What shall we do now?"
"Go back to your dormant forms. Torah, Yuki will take your consciousness back to Cyrus's Minikyu. Don't spoil the surprise for him. Got it?"
"Got it."
Torah and Edmund melted into their dormant slime forms. Yuki hopped off of Yoko's shoulders and shoved her fingers inside Torah's dormant state. She pulled out what looked like a ghost version of Torah and left through an ice mirror.
"Guess we'd better get going."
"Yep. To the tree!"
Phoebe excitedly stood up and was about to teleport to the waypoint, but I stopped her by putting my hand on her shoulder.
"We have to go get the others."
"To your house!"
'So it's been 5 years. Time flies.'
'I know. I remember holding you when you were thiiiis little.'
Aurora and I giggled as I carried her on my shoulders. We decided to take the long route to the island. Phoebe was taking Yoko to gather the others.
'So after tomorrow I'll be staying in Roa with you?'
'Yep! Your room is next to mine, so you can come say hi whenever you want.'
'Good to hear. I am gonna miss my tree though.'
'Hmm. I don't think Philip would let me change our rooms like I did at our house, but I think I can make you a miniature Sakura tree. It could be bonsai shaped.'
'I'd like that. Thank you big brother!'
Aurora hunched over and hugged my head.
'Of course!'
I walked through the forest laughing as Aurora and I exchanged various jokes and anime references.
'I never really got to watch that many. Phoebe introduced them to me, but we only had so much free time.'
'Well that sucks! You missed out on so much!'
'Then I guess I'll just need you to fill me in.'
I stopped at the edge of the lake that surrounded our island. I took a step forward and walked on the water towards the island.
'How do you do that? Do you use a spell to make ice under your feet or do you manipulate the water and it's basically floating?'
'You're almost there. I channel mana through the soles of my feet to keep the water still, and stop me from sinking. It's more walking than floating as I'm basically turning the water into a solid without turning it into ice.'
'Will you teach me how to do that?'
'Eventually. You need extremely honed mana control, and while your mana control is superb for your age you're not at the level you need to be.'
'Dang. Guess I'll just have to wait.'
I stepped onto the island and looked around. There seemed to be some new targets alongside the targets I had made already, there were benches made of stone, and there was a large picnic blanket laid out on the ground alongside three picnic baskets. Just as Aurora and I sat down Phoebe arrived with the others.
Yoko leaped across the lake with a single jump and nearly took up half the island with his size. He knelt down and Phoebe, Cyrus, Eurydice, Sara, and Sylphie all got down from his back.
Everyone greeted Aurora, likely the same way they did Cyrus. Once everyone said hello we all sat on the picnic blanket and indulged ourselves with the food in the baskets. Aurora sat beside me on my left and Phoebe sat on my right. Beside them was Sylphie on the left by Aurora, and Sara on the right by Phoebe. Cyrus and Eurydice sat nearby facing us.
"These two are for you."
Phoebe placed two of the baskets in front of me.
"Huh?"
"I know how much you can eat and how fast you can eat it. By my estimation by the time we all finish this basket you should be done with both of those. If you finish early you can't have any of our food. Just cause you can have an infinitely large stomach doesn't mean you should try and fill it."
"Okay okay. I heard you."
I took the baskets and started eating the menagerie of food Phoebe had prepared for me. It was mainly sweets and snacks. After a couple hours of lounging around and just chatting it was time for us to head home.
Yuki summoned an ice mirror and we all walked through it and found ourselves in our front yard. I sent a Doru inside to quickly make sure everything was ready. Everything seemed to be in place, so we all went inside.
"Happy birthday!"
Mom popped a confetti popper with the widest smile on her face. I shot Lilia a confused look. Her and Dad were supposed to have some as well. One look at the confetti covered floor told me that a bunch of poppers had already been used.
"The Madame has been enjoying the poppers you made. The one she just used was the only one left. It took me and the master's best efforts to convince her not to pop it before you got here."
"I knew I should've made more, but in all honesty I thought that it'd be Dad popping all of them."
Dad gave a a pouty look.
"Come on Rudy, you've gotta give me some credit."
I giggled and sat at the table. I clapped my hands and the table grew and chairs grew out of the floor so everyone had somewhere to sit.
Slowly Kuroi, Pin, and Erebus trickled in.
"What kind of cakes are these Young Master?"
Lilia curiously eyed the cakes as Phoebe laid them on the table.
"It's a recipe from are old world. It's been a while since I've had cake like this."
"Interesting."
I helped Lilia clean up the confetti covering the floor as everyone settled down.
"Thank you Young Master."
"No problem."
We all sat down and I set 5 candles each in the cakes.
"What are you doing Rudy?"
"From where we come from it's thought that if you blow out candles on your birthday and make a wish then it might come true. You just can't say what your wish is, then it definitely won't come true."
Cyrus and Aurora blew out their candles, and we cut the cakes. As per their requests Cyrus's cake was vanilla and Aurora's was chocolate. Everyone got a slice and ate it with glee. In mere minutes we all knocked out the cakes and moved on to the presents.
Mom started off by giving Cyrus a book called Plant Dictionary, and she gave Aurora a book called Sig's Summoning Magic.
"When we got Rudy his presents, Paul and I got separate gifts, but books are quite expensive so we did conjoined presents this year. Though in a way Rudy was a huge help in getting these presents too. Without his mana potions I wouldn't be able to keep the clinic open as much as I do now."
Both the twins smiled at me as Zenith and Paul hugged them.
Kuroi and Lilia went next. They gave Aurora a scarf and Cyrus got a mask. It covered just his mouth and nose. Lilia seemed a bit confused, but Cyrus's eyes seemed to be sparkling as he put the mask on. I peaked over at Kuroi as he called me on his Kumu.
'I thought it would help with his anxiety. I'm happy I'm right.'
'I never thought about that. Thanks Kuroi.'
'No problem.'
Aurora wrapped the scarf around her neck and gave it a small tug. She had a slight smile as she adjusted the scarf until it was comfortable.
Erebus went next and handed Aurora a dagger, and he gave Cyrus a sword.
The dagger was about 15 inches long. The handle was bound in grey leather. The blade itself was slightly curved and pitch black.
The sword was curved like a scimitar, and its blade was also black. It was about 4 feet long.
"Apparently Paul gave Thorn a sword on his birthday, but since he and Zenith worked together for your gifts I thought I might give you one. Paul holds skill I haven't seen much on my travels. With his teachings, that sword, and your magic I'm sure you can go quite far. I pray that that sword serves you well. The same goes to you, little Aurora. You seem more attuned to magic, and since your brother practices swordsmanship with Paul and you don't I thought that the dagger would be best for you. If you wish to learn how to properly wield that dagger I would recommend going to Pin. She's quite an expert when it comes to handling knives and daggers of the sort."
"T-thank you. I'll keep that in mind."
"Thank you for the sword mister Erebus."
They sat their new weapons to the side as Sylphie came forward and handed them both necklaces similar to the one she gave me.
They smiled and thanked her as they put the necklaces on.
Sara went up and gave them both wooden sculptures of themselves. Aurora was doing the same pose she was doing when she first performed a Final Flash, and Cyrus seemed to be doing a pose where he was charging up a Kamehameha. He must've figured out how to do one while I was away.
"I had to learn how to whittle wood when my dad taught me how to make arrows, and I'm pretty good at it. I hope you like them."
The twins eyed the figures happily and set them with the other gifts with a smile.
Now it was our turn. Phoebe and I walked up with two boxes. I gave Aurora her's and Phoebe gave Cyrus his.
The two looked confused as they opened the boxes.
"You've both been using a Minikyu for years, so Phoebe and I thought it was about time you got an upgrade."
'And don't worry. Torah's consciousness will transfer to her new body.'
Cyrus sighed to the side in an attempt to hide his relief.
They both touched the dormant orbs and pushed mana into them. It took a while and a shocking amount of mana potions, but eventually the two Kumus flared to life. The Minikyus that were on their wrists crumbled away. Torah leapt out of the box and landed in front of Cyrus. Her looks had changed significantly now that she was "complete". She now had white hair with tiger ears and tail.
She had fluffy sleeves that weren't connected to her top. Her knee high socks matched her sleeves.
"Phew. This's nice! I'm ready to serve now Master!"
"Same to you, my lady. My name is Edmund. It's a pleasure to meet you."
Unlike Torah's flashy appearance Edmund decided to just appear next to Aurora. He was floating as he tended to do. His hair had grown again, but instead of adding to his bun it instead grew his hair a little above his shoulders.
"You know with a new form how about a new name?"
Torah turned around and looked at Cyrus. She bowed.
"I'd be grateful to accept it."
"I'm thinking... Suphia."
Suphia rose.
"I'll wear the name with pride!"
Suphia put her hands on her hips and let out a hearty laugh.
We spent the rest of the night partying. Aurora showed off some new magic she and Cyrus had found. It was Light Magic. Its only use that they found was to make light, but they could also manipulate the color and brightness of the light. She used the magic to create a miniature aurora borealis in the living room.
I was a bit concerned about Cyrus being pushed out of the lime light, but he was more than happy to sit on the sideline and use his own light magic to create colors for Eurydice and Suphia.
I sat back and just enjoyed the party vibe.
The next day we hung out and didn't really do much, and the day after that it was time for Aurora and I to go back to Roa.
"Hahaha! Come on! Faster!"
Aurora laughed as Yoko ran through the plains that connected Buena and Roa.
I was using space and wind magic to keep the wind from peeling our skin off.
Yoko sped up and our surroundings were blurred as the ground behind us was burned and broken wherever Yoko slammed their paws.
We ended up making it to Roa in less than an hour.
Yoko slid to a stop as they jumped over the walls surrounding the manor.
I slid off Yoko's back and helped Aurora down. I offered Cyrus an invitation to come with us, but he said he'd prefer staying in Buena. He was happy I at least considered asking him though.
Aurora stumbled a bit and I helped her steady herself.
"Come on let's get you settled. Your room is pretty close to mine, so I can drop my stuff off while you get everything organized."
"Thank you. This place is huge."
I opened the door and let her in.
"Haha, yeah. You get used to it though."
"He only says that cause he doesn't use the hallways."
Standing near the door was Eris accompanied by Ghislaine.
"Aw! Were you waiting for me?"
"Pft! As if."
"Big brother? Who's that?"
"Well Aurora. This is Eris, my student. The beast woman beside her is Ghislaine. She's also a student of mine. Eris, Ghislaine, this is my little sister, Aurora."
Eris jerked her head back as she crossed her arms.
"Hmph. Why is she here?"
"Well I got Philip's permission to let her come stay here with me."
"Why?"
"None of your business."
Both Eris and Ghislaine looked at me confused. This was the first time I downright denied Eris an answer to any question she had asked.
"Oh um... okay."
I could feel Ghislaine staring at me as I led Aurora down the hall and then up a set of stairs.
"She seemed... nice?"
"Don't worry if you can't find words for it. Eris is a Tsundere at heart. Raion and I gained her respect through shows of power. If you show her your Final Flash then you might gain her respect."
"Guess I'll have to try... you aren't trying to court her, are you?"
"Not intentionally, no. I'm just doing my job of teaching her mathematics, history, and magic. Whatever happens happens."
Aurora gave me a dead pan stare.
"Uh huh."
I stopped beside a specific door and pulled out two keys. I unlocked the door and let Aurora in.
"It's about the same size as your room in Buena, so it shouldn't be too hard to set stuff up. I've gotta get my stuff ready for Eris's classes today. If you need anything just call me through Yoko and I'll be there in seconds."
I walked over and opened Aurora's window. I turned around to look at Aurora as I sat on her windowsill.
"Any questions?"
"No, but this place is rather large..."
"I'll have Yoko make a map for you. If you ever have problems finding me go check out the library. Check the roof and behind the books if you can't find me anywhere else."
Aurora tilted her head.
"Why would I do that?"
"I really like reading, and I may or may not be banned from the library unless accompanied by a supervisor to make sure I don't get caught up in a book for too long. If that's all then I'll see ya later!"
I fell backwards through the window and closed it with space magic. I flew around the manor and started setting up my notes for Eris's next class. As I sat some miniatures on a desk behind me my attention was pulled away to a small red and blue dot in the sky.
"That can't be good."
Ch19 comes to an end and we're another chapter closer to the first turning point. We'll be there soon. We'll be diverging a bit from canon after the mana displacement, but it won't be anything too major. Anyways, see you guys next time, and feel free to comment on FanFiction and Archive. I'll gladly take criticism to try and improve my writing, as well as answering any questions you may have.
However, if a question may spoil something I have planned I may tip toe around it, or hint towards the answer without directly saying what it is.
Also, sorry for the chapter delay. I forgot to mention that I'd be going out of town for a trip last week and wouldn't have a chapter ready. I'll be taking another trip later this month, but I'm gonna try and I have a chapter written so I don't miss an upload again this month. See you all later!
