Chapter 14: Ain't Love Grand

With the danger behind them, Datak and Nolan could finally focus on enjoying their honeymoon. The recent events in Defiance had kept them apart, leaving little time for quality moments with each other.

Nolan and Datak took a break from their duties to unwind in the soothing Castithan bath. Nolan leaned in and placed a gentle kiss on his husband's lips. "Think we can go a whole week without any life-or-death situations?" Nolan asked, a small laugh escaping him.

"That remains to be seen," Datak responded as he straddled his husband's lap and sank down on Nolan's rock-hard shaft.

Nolan moaned as Datak's tight heat enveloped his cock. "Gods, you feel so good. It seems like an eternity since we've been together.

Datak laughed. "It was yesterday, you fool."

Nolan smirked at his husband. "Yeah, but that's an eternity for people like us that are used to doing it six times a day."

Datak grinned, impaling himself deeper onto Nolan's cock. "Well, let's make up for lost time then."

Nolan moaned his agreement as Datak set a steady pace.

As the moments stretched on, Nolan's hands gripped Datak's hips tightly, pulling him closer with each downward motion. Datak responded with a low growl as his eyes locked with Nolan's and he continued his relentless pace.

Their passion was undeniable, and it fueled their desire for each other. In that moment, all the worries of the world seemed to melt away.

Finally, Nolan couldn't hold back any longer. He arched his back, his hips thrusting upward to meet Datak, his release spilling forth in an explosion of ecstasy.

Datak felt his own release building, the pleasure rushing through him as he continued to move atop Nolan.

His husband wrapped his large hand around Datak's erection and began to stroke, matching the rhythm of Datak's movements. As Datak lost himself in the sensations, he knew he was close to climaxing, his heart pounding in his chest. With a final shout of pleasure, Datak came, juices spurting onto Nolan's belly. As the two men recovered from the intense experience, they sat entwined, basking in the afterglow of their coupling.

After their bath, the two men retired to the bedroom and lay in each other's arms. Nolan couldn't help but feel grateful for the small moment of peace, especially given the trouble that had plagued Defiance lately. The town had recently faced numerous challenges, including Hellions (genetically modified creatures), forced marriages, murderous Castithan order members, and a variety of other bizarre events.

They could probably turn their harrowing experience into a bestselling book for tons of scrip.

Nolan chuckled to himself at the thought.

"What are you laughing about?" Datak asked.

Nolan smiled, running his fingers through Datak's hair. "I was just thinking about how we might be able to turn all of this... our lives, our adventures, into a bestselling book. Imagine the scrip we could make."

Datak laughed, a genuine laugh that filled the room. "Or maybe we should just enjoy the serenity while it lasts. After all, who knows what other strange, exciting, or dangerous things are waiting for us around the corner in Defiance?"

Nolan nodded in agreement, knowing that Datak was right. "Sounds like a plan to me. Now, let's enjoy that calm before the next storm."

Datak nestled in closer to his partner, taking in his intoxicating scent. "Did you find out if Irisa intends to live with us? Datak asked. "There's more than enough space for her here."

Nolan answered, his tone a bit perturbed. "Yes, I asked her and she said no."

Sympathetically, Datak turned to his partner. "I had a suspicion that might be the case, but did she mention a reason for not wanting to stay with us?"

Nolan let out a heavy sigh. "Yeah, she did," he said. "She's officially moving in with Tommy."

Datak allowed a small smirk to cross his face. "She's a grownup now, and we can't hold onto our children forever."

Nolan nodded. "I know that, but it still hurts a little. We've been through so much together, and now she's ready to start her own life, and I can't help but feel like I'm losing a part of my family."

Datak let out a scoff. "Don't be ridiculous, she's not leaving Defiance. Plus, you two work together. You'll still see her almost every day."

Nolan couldn't help but roll his eyes at his husband as they discussed Irisa's decision to move in with Tommy. He couldn't shake the feeling that it might not be the best choice for her. He loved his daughter dearly but knew that she needed to spread her wings and find her own path in life. And he also knew that Tommy was a good man and would do his best to take care of Irisa.

"Why don't we take a break from worrying about our children for a bit?" Datak suggested, glancing at Nolan. "I propose we head to the NeedWant tonight for some dinner and drinks. A new folk band is playing, and it would be a nice change of pace."

Nolan considered his husband's proposal, knowing that Datak was right. They needed a break from worry and stress. "Alright, let's do it. We could use a night of fun."

They spent the evening enjoying the music, good food, and each other's company. Stahma was unexpectedly behind the bar tonight, assisting Kenya during a busy evening. Datak couldn't believe his eyes.

Datak shook his head in disapproval as he spoke, "I never imagined seeing my ex-wife working behind a bar, serving drinks to a rowdy crowd of drunken individuals."

"Nope, it not anything I would've imagined her doing, but she looks happy. See… she's smiling," Nolan replied, holding his glass in the air for a refill.

Datak shot Nolan a dirty look. "Idiot, she's smiling at Kenya," Datak managed to get in just before Kenya arrived with Nolan's refill.

"How was dinner, gentlemen?" Kenya asked flashing them a dazzling smile.

"It was super, honey, just super," Nolan answered returning Kenya's smile.

"Indeed, it was excellent," Datak agreed. "But may I ask you a question, Miss Rosewater?"

"Well of course you can, except for my services later," Kenya giggled. "I'm officially retired now you know, but what's your question."

"Yes, we heard," Datak nodded. "However, I was just wondering how you managed to talk my ex-wife into bartending?"

Kenya laughed loudly. "Silly, that was easy. Once I agreed to retire, I had to make some staffing cutbacks, so Stahma agreed to be my new bartender. This way we can spend all of our time together and I think the tradeoff has worked very well."

That's great," Nolan chimed in trying to shut his husband up. "You both look very happy."

"We are, Nolan, we are," Kenya replied as she turned and headed back to the bar.

Datak harrumphed. "Nolan, why did you interrupt me? I was simply going to mention that a Castithan woman of any self-respecting nature would never be seen working behind a bar."

Nolan's eyes narrowed. "This is exactly why I stopped you. We came here to unwind, not cause a fight."

"Well then," Datak purred, fluttering his eyelashes at his spouse. "Perhaps we should finish our drinks and retire to our spacious, cozy bed." A mischievous grin played across Datak's face, a glint of amethyst flickering in his eyes. Nolan quickly drained his glass, grabbing Datak's hand as he practically dragged him out the door.

Kenya and Stahma shared a laugh as they watched the two of them from behind the bar. "Looks like we know who's in charge there," Stahma said with a smug grin.

"Definitely," Kenya agreed. "And it serves Datak right for the way he treated you all those years."

Stahma let out a deep sigh. "Unfortunately, this is just how it is for Castithan wives, and I don't see our traditions changing anytime soon."

As Nolan and Datak walked back to their home, they encountered Argol, the Sensoth who had initially warned them about the Hellion's presence. "Argol, what are you doing out this late?" Nolan asked, surprised to see the Sensoth in their path.

Argol's face showed signs of panic as he spoke. "Look for you, Lawkeeper," he said.

"We really must be getting home," Argol," Datak said gruffly. So be a good Sensoth and get out of our way."

"Datak," Nolan warned. "What's going on, Argol? Is there a problem?"

"Hellion… me think. Hear strange screech far away… getting closer." Argol replied with a hint of fear in his eyes.

Datak let out a disbelieving laugh. "That's impossible. We scoured the area thoroughly after Nolan killed the last Hellion."

"Me hears," Argol stated resolutely."

"We'll investigate it first thing in the morning," Nolan reassured the large Sensoth with a pat on the shoulder. "You can head home now and leave it to us to handle."

With a look of disgust on his face, Argol turned and strode away muttering to himself, "never listen."

Datak shook his head in disbelief, still unable to wrap his mind around the idea of another Hellion being in Defiance. Nolan, however, seemed to be more level-headed about the situation.

"We need to check it out, Datak," he said with a stern tone. "Argol wouldn't have mentioned it if he didn't think it was serious."

Datak begrudgingly agreed, but still shrugged it off as just a Sensoth hallucination. As they approached their home, he turned to Nolan. "I know you need to follow up, but for tonight may we please forget about everything else?"

Nolan's eyes softened as he looked at his husband. "Of course, love," he agreed. "Let's go inside and leave all of that for tomorrow."

As soon as they entered their home, Datak was surprised by Nolan's quick movements that led them straight to the bedroom. Before he knew it, Nolan had stripped him of his clothes and pinned him down, grinding against him with a fierce intensity. Datak couldn't help but grin at the passion and desire in his lover's actions.

Nolan wasted no time in kissing Datak deeply, losing himself in the moment and forgetting all about Argol's ridiculous statement. He'd still check it out, but he doubted that he'd find anything.

Datak fueled Nolan's desire by grinding his own hard erection into his lover's thigh. "I want to feel you inside of me," Datak moaned breathlessly.

Nolan's eyes sparked with desire as he heard Datak's plea. He knew just what to do to satisfy his husband's needs. He reached for the drawer beside the bed, pulling out a tube of lube and one of their favorite toys. Datak's eyes glazed over with anticipation as he watched Nolan slick up the dildo.

"Are you ready for this, love?" Nolan asked, a playful grin on his lips.

Datak nodded eagerly; his eyes locked on the toy as Nolan carefully slid it into place. Nolan slicked his own cock and pushed his dick in beside the dildo. Datak shouted with a fevered pitch, "Oh fuck, Nolan!

Nolan growled as he looked into his husband's eyes and began to thrust, meeting Datak's gaze with a passion that seemed to burn away all other thoughts.

As they moved together, Datak felt as though he was being consumed by the intensity of their love making, their bodies connecting in a way that seemed almost otherworldly. He felt the toy move inside of him, along with his husband's cock, adding an extra layer of pleasure that sent shivers down his spine.

Nolan's pace quickened, his breaths becoming ragged as he lost himself in the moment. Datak could feel the tension building within him as well, the pleasure becoming more and more intense with each passing second. And then, just as suddenly as it had started, the moment arrived. Datak felt a wave of pure ecstasy wash over him, his body shaking with pleasure as he began to climax, his penis completely untouched. Nolan's strokes became increasingly erratic, his own pleasure building with each thrust. Finally, with a cry of jubilation, Nolan climaxed.

As they lay entwined in the aftermath of their passion, Datak reached out and gently traced the outline of Nolan's face with one finger. "You know, my love," he murmured, "I never want to lose this feeling."

Nolan smiled softly, his eyes full of love and devotion. "I never want to either, Datak, and if you give me a few minutes, I promise we can do it all again."

Datak laughed. "Do you think we can go all night like we did before the wedding?"

"We'll see," Nolan replied, a mischievous smile on his face as he climbed back on top of his lover.

Datak had a new plan in mind and eagerly flipped Nolan onto his back, grinning when he saw that Nolan's erection had returned. He lowered himself down onto his husband's throbbing shaft and they both moaned in pleasure.

As Datak and Nolan continued their lovemaking, they lost all sense of time and space. The only thing that mattered was the connection between them, both physical and emotional. They moved together in perfect harmony, each movement seamlessly flowing into the next.

Eventually, sometime near dawn, they both collapsed onto the bed, spent and utterly satisfied. Nolan pushed a strand of white hair out of Datak's face and whispered, "You know, for all the crap you've put me through, I can't say that I regret any of it."

Datak's smiled as he sighed in contentment. "I'll take that as a compliment," he said before finally falling asleep.

Nolan woke up as the faint rays of first light streamed through the window. He didn't want to disturb his partner, but he had to get ready for work and Datak needed to get to City Hall. It was election day and Datak had to attend, even though they both knew he wasn't going to win. As they waited for the results, Nolan, Tommy, and Irisa would investigate Argol's Hellion story.

Nolan gently prodded his sleepy lover until he finally groaned and opened one eye.

"Please, just five more minutes," Datak implored as he rolled over on his side.

"Come on, get out of bed. It's election day and you're supposed to be at City Hall. I bet Amanda is already there, so you should at least show up."

With a grumble, Datak reluctantly climbed out of bed and strolled naked to the bathroom. "Care to join me for a quick shower?" he asked, casting a look over his shoulder.

Nolan chuckled. "If I join you there won't be anything quick about it."

Datak reluctantly nodded and turned away from his husband. "Do as you please, but it had the potential to be quite spectacular."

Nolan laughed and sat upright. "I'll make us a pot of coffee and a quick breakfast, then I'll shower after you've gone to eliminate any distractions."

After breakfast, Datak hastily left for City Hall, while Nolan took his shower. Nolan needed to get to his office to meet up with Tommy and Irisa before they started their patrols. He had to warn them about the possibility of another Hellion.

As Nolan emerged from the building, he instinctively scanned the surrounding area for any potential threats. Seeing nothing out of the ordinary, he hopped into the rover and drove quickly to his office. Inside, Tommy and Irisa were already waiting for him.

Nolan briefed them on Argol's revelation, explaining that it was serious enough to warrant investigation. Tommy, ever the skeptic, questioned whether it was the Sensoth's imagination.

It was Irisa who pointed out that Argol had been right the last time this happened.

Nolan agreed, and together they set out to canvas the area where Argol thought the screeches were coming from.

Meanwhile, inside City Hall, Datak sat calmly in a large wingback chair, observing as Mayor Rosewater paced anxiously around her office. He didn't bother informing her that he had purposely lost the election by instructing all of his Castithan supporters to vote for her instead. It pleased him to see her flustered and overwhelmed, giving him a twisted sense of satisfaction.

Amanda paused her pacing and turned to Datak. "You seem surprisingly nonchalant about this," she remarked.

Datak couldn't help but feel smug. "Unlike humans, Castithans are able to stay calm and composed in any situation."

Mayor Rosewater responded, shaking her head in disagreement. She was well aware that the exact opposite was true. "I've witnessed your calm demeanor in action before, Datak. Remember that."

Datak's lips curved into a slight smile as Alak's voice resonated through the loudspeaker from the Defiance arch, where his son currently waited to read the election results. Amanda couldn't help but notice the look on Datak's face, which immediately made her suspicious.

"Reporting to you live from the Defiance arch, this is Alak Tarr with the official results of the mayoral race."

The tension in the room was palpable as Amanda, her staff, and Datak waited for the announcement of the results.

After a brief moment of silence, Alak's voice returned, "The official results for the mayoral race are in, and I am honored to announce that the winner is Amanda Rosewater, with 72% of the vote."

Mayor Rosewater clapped her hands together, her eyes beaming with pride. "We did it," she cried.

Relief washed across Datak's face before he quickly masked his pleasure at Amanda's win and stood up. "Congratulations, Mayor Rosewater. I hope you will serve the people of Defiance well."

Amanda's eyes lingered on Datak for a moment before she shook her head, realizing that he had orchestrated this entire scenario. "You intentionally lost, didn't you, Datak? But my question is why?"

Datak let out a cough that sounded like a laugh. "Do you honestly think I would resort to such tactics when I wanted to win so badly?" He grinned. "Congratulations again on your victory, but I must be off now. Nolan is expecting me at his office." With a casual stride, Datak exited the mayor's office, leaving her perplexed and shaking her head.

Nolan, Tommy, and Irisa returned from their investigation empty handed, just as the results of the election were announced. When they reached the office, they ran into a smiling Datak.

"You look awfully pleased for someone who just lost an election," Tommy mentioned, noticing the happy look on Datak's face.

Irisa nodded in agreement. "You lost on purpose, didn't you?" she said, staring at Datak with an amused expression.

Datak and Nolan shared a laugh. "Being mayor was never my dream," Datak joked.

Irisa snorted in response. "I bet Nolan told you to lose it."

Datak and Nolan exchanged a conspiratorial glance before changing the subject.

"Have you discovered any evidence of the Hellion that Argol mentioned?" Datak inquired.

Before anyone could answer, out of nowhere, a piercing screech broke the tranquility of the day, causing all four of them to look up in unison. They saw a massive Hellion barreling towards the gates of Defiance with alarming speed and force.

Tommy's face twisted in horror, "Oh no! That must be the momma because she's a whole lot bigger than the first one!"

Datak's voice rang out as he pointed at the figure riding on the back of the creature. "Isn't that the bioengineered creature that was allegedly killed by the Voltan?"

Nolan's eyes widened in shock, "Holy Hellion, I think you're right, Datak?"

Nolan ran inside his office and retrieved another blaster that he promptly handed to Datak. "We've got to bring that thing down before anyone gets killed."

The Hellion and rider crashed through the gates of Defiance, barreling down the streets with devastating force. Shouts and screams echoed through the town as citizens scrambled for safety.

Irisa and Tommy exchanged glances, knowing they needed to act quickly. Nolan took the lead, with Datak close on his heels, as they charged up the street towards the angry duo of rider and hellion.

"Here we go again!" Nolan exclaimed. "Just another typical day in Defiance!"

The End
