ESKK: Time to begin Chapter 9 so enjoy.
(Start Sovereign Saren and Haggar)
Saren and Haggar were seen in the command room of the ship. Haggar just stood there her visage unchanged as she glared at Saren. "Confirmation from the Geth have confirmed it, the Paladins for the Blue Lion is no more." Haggar reported as she stood behind Saren.
"So, one of the pilots is dead the right leg." Saren said as he recalled the Blue Lion comprising Voltrons right leg.
"Yes, and without him they cannot form Voltron." Haggar said and thus Saren chuckled to this. Benezia's demise had provided them an edge over the Paladins.
"Then this is our chance, locate their ship... and eradicate it." Saren said as he looked to the woman.
"As you wish." Haggar said and thus she began to take her leave. As Saren sat there, he began to smiled to himself at long last an obstacle was dealt with and without the Paladins Voltron was nothing more than a statue. So, with great glee and joy Saren awaited the report that the Castle of Lions has been destroyed with its crew.
(Scene Break Castle of Lions)
Anderson had gone and told Sven's parents about what had happened. Needless to say, they did not take the passing well. John could understand this and while he hated to put this on Anderson the man had done it of his own volition. Right now, they managed to keep it off of the Extra Net, but the Council needs an update about this. With Voltron no longer an option they would no doubt push to have the Lions brought in as soon as possible.
At the moment they were at an Alliance station for restock and refuel. This gave them ample time to try and find a new paladin amongst the two ships. Ashley, Shiala, Liara, Kaiden, Garrus, and Tali all stood in the hanger where the Blue Lion waited. Allura would have added Joker to the list, but his legs was the issue as was his role on the Normandy.
John was also there as he wanted to make sure that whoever gets picked has his full support. "Now that everyone is gathered, I'm certain you all know why." Allura said and thus Garrus cut in.
"You want to see which one of us has the best chance at bonding with big blue there." Garrus said pointing to the Blue Lion.
"Yes, without Voltron Saren and his ally have the advantage so we need to tip the balance back in our favor." Allura said as she knew that with Voltron the Robeasts would be easier to deal with.
"Each of you will enter the Blue Lion and attempt to bond with it." Allura said making clear what was going on here. "Whoever the lion responds to will be the Paladin." Allura said and in turn it was pretty straight forward.
"Fair enough." Tali said as she wanted to see how she looked in blue.
During this Kalvin was watching things play out with John. "Kal... how are you feeling?" John asked as he looked to his son.
"Want me to lie or be honest?" Kalvin asked glaring at his father. The entire team had taken a blow from that. Penny was barely sleeping, Hector was on a cooking binge, and Leon has barely left the training room. Kalvin was also suffering he could barely sleep like Penny because he just lays there staring at the ceiling his mind a mess of survivor's guilt and his own grief.
John saw this he had seen many good soldiers go through it and right now a group of kids were going through it. He wanted to help, and he intended too but he wasn't entirely sure how. "Kal what happened wasn't your fault." John said trying to ease Kalvin through this.
"So, I'm told." Kalvin said but then glared at his father. "And why do you care now all of a sudden?" Kalvin asked as he glared at John who was reminded of how Kal's mother died.
"Sven's folks are preparing for a funeral service... do you plan to attend?" John asked as he changed the subject.
"I'm not sure." Kalvin admitted as he then got up. "I'll have to ask the others." Kalvin said while leaving so he can get a better look at the test. John stood there for a moment and in turn opted to watch the test go down.
(Blue Lion Cockpit Ashley)
Ashley was the first one to attempt to bond with the Blue Lion. As she sat in the darkened cockpit, she waited for a roar to be heard or for the lion to respond somehow. Her hands were on the controls as she waited for the Blue Lion to do something. "Well can't get a boyfriend and can't get a lion." Ashley said as she saw the Lion would not respond to her.
(Later Tali)
Tali sat in the cockpit waiting for the Lion to respond to her. But all she got was dark and silence from the beast. She moved the controls and pressed a few buttons but got nothing from it. "Bosh'tet." Tali cursed as Blue was not responding to her either.
(With Kaiden)
Kaiden was next as he sat in the cockpit waiting for the Lion to do something. Looking around he saw the Lion was quiet and silent without a Paladin to operate it. He flipped a few switches, but nothing happened as he waited to be let out. But it was clear that he was not the one even now.
(Shiala)
Shaila sat in the Blue Lions cockpit her hands on the controls her eyes closed and her mind focused. But her attempt to connect with the lion were not being responded to. She'd try melding but that was a risk even an Ardac Yakshi would not risk. Sitting there in silent it became clear that she was not the one.
(Liara)
Liara was next as she was doing the same that the others had tried but it became quickly clear that her attempts to link with the Blue Lion was a fools errand. The controls would not respond, and the cockpit remained dark as she was unable to activate anything from the Blue Lion.
(Garrus)
Garrus was the last one to try as the Turian sat in the cockpit. "Nope." Garrus said as he got out of the cockpit.
(Outside)
Garrus was seen walking out and thus Coran looked to him. "What are you doing out so soon?" Coran asked as he looked to Garrus.
"Yeah, you didn't even try." Tali said and thus Garrus made his objections known.
"I prefer being on the ground in the action not safe in that." Garrus said as he pointed to the Blue Lion. "I'll be somewhere doing some calibrating." Garrus said as he left refusing to try with the Blue Lion.
"This is not good." John said as he knew what this meant.
"I know the Council and the Alliance are going to send everyone they can spare to bond with it and put Voltron under their reign of control once this gets out." Ashley said as she knew that without a Paladins the Blue Lion was vulnerable.
"We could try Wrex?" Hector offered and thus there was a brief moment of pause.
"NO!" Everyone all said once they thought about it. A Krogan for Voltron was a very bad idea.
"We need to discuss this further if we will have any hope of finding a new Paladin." Allura said knowing they needed to start finding recruits.
"Well, where do we start?" Kaiden asked and thus Allura lead them to the lounge to start deciding on a plan.
(Scene Break later on the Normandy)
"I see, so the lion hasn't picked a new paladin yet," Anderson said from the hologram as John just reported what's been going on with the blue lion as he said, "We did the best we could to find a new paladin for the blue lion, but as Allura said the lions are picky of choosing who their paladins could be."
"I suppose it would be too much to ask to see if you can do it?" Anderson said as John shake his head no, as he said, "Beside the black lion that one time, I cannot hear the other lions calling, I'm not a valuable candidate for any of them."
"I see, then this is a problem as no doubt the council and the alliance will send everyone they can afford to see if the blue lion will accept them," Anderson said as John said, "If they do that and succeed, then that would put Voltron under one of their command regardless, and no action can be taken unless it a direct order."
"I know, and those kids are still civilians regardless who the head of it and who owns them, unless a soldier from the alliance agrees willingly to serve Princess Allura, there nothing much I can do, and even worst if a SPECTRE other than you take control of a lion, the council would most likely abuse it," Anderson said as John said to him, "I'm not gonna give up just yet, there has to be one that worthy enough for the blue lion."
"I know you won't, I'll try all I can from this end to stall the Alliance from sending anyone, but the Princess must defend her castle as well as the council may try and use force to get to that lion if they have too," Anderson said as sense Allura still isn't a part of the alliance just yet, meaning they cannot her from the council as may try something, as they both knew that the bounty that was set up to capture any lion with reward can only be done by someone of high stature or rank to give such rewards as John said to him, "I'll tell her and do my best to find the next paladin."
"I hope you succeed, goodbye for now Shepard," Anderson said as he hung up with the hologram vanish with Joker calls out, "So commander, what now?"
"Set course for the Citadel, we need to establish damage control, as once the word get out that a member of the Voltron force is down, it may not be pretty," John said as Joker reply to him, "Understood commander, heading to the Citadel now… also I like to say… I'm sorry for what happen."
"There nothing to be sorry about, we did everything we could and that all that matter," John said as he soon walks off as Ashley stood by as she knew her commander was feeling stress, as she knew he try everything he can to help his son emotionally and supporting him by finding a paladin for the blue lion, but she knew there are limits to this as she wish there was something she could do, but at this point there nothing can do but support him.
(The castle of lions)
Everyone that came over from the Normandy crew had left leaving the paladins to come up with a plan of what do to, as they all sat in the lounge area trying to think of a solution, no doubt they were facing a crises themselves as Commander Shepard himself just told them the bad news.
Pretty much they have to find someone worthy of the blue lion or else someone from either the alliance or the citadel to try their luck and take over the Voltron force and would try everything in the powers to do so, but they have gone through most of the crews of both ships, and no one has been a match for the lion itself with the group just spit balling a few idea as Leon said, "so minus the Krogan, who else is there we haven't try."
"Maybe one of the guys from engineer?" Penny suggested with Kalvin said as he while he was leaning back on the couch, "They aren't a match, as for as lone they been here, they haven't heard the lions roar like we have."
"Hey what about that Asari Professor lady, I mean she's blue the lions blue and such?" Hector suggested as Leon said, "I thought she was a doctor?"
"You would think that, but it seem she already tired beforehand, but the lion didn't respond," Kalvin said as Liara wanted to see if she could be the first of her people to be a paladin of Voltron but nothing worked for her and no roaring either meaning the lion more or less refused her, as Leon stood up and said, "This can't be the end of thing with us, we have to keep trying or something else."
"What can we do, without Sven… we can't form Voltron," Penny said as Hector said, "Without Voltron we're just fighting with just our lions.
"And without forming Voltron it hard to say if we can beat the next robeast that comes along without it wiping out entire worlds just because we cannot find Saren," Kalvin said as he clinch his fist a bit as the more he thinks about the more angrier he gets as then Allura came in and saw the remaining paladin talking and saw a list of people that they have crossed off showing they were running out of ideas and it seem time as she soon said, "Paladins… we're almost to the Citadel, I thought you may wanted to know."
"Thanks, Allura, we'll get ready when we arrive," Kalvin said as the whole team left to get dress when they arrive but before Kalvin could leave Allura grab his arm and said, "Can we talk for a bit Kal?"
"Sure," Kalvin said as the other looked at this before they give a smirk and left leaving Kalvin and Allura together as the Princess lead him back to the couch as they sat there for a moment with things so quite it was almost was painful to just sit there as Kalvin breaks it and said, "So… what did you want to talk about?"
"Well… I know that you and commander Shepard have been trying so hard to keep Voltron out of many people hands," Allura said as Kalvin cuts in, "I haven't stop trying to find someone."
"I know, and I'm happy that your trying but we may have to face the hard truth, that we someone from the alliance or the citadel may try their hands at getting the blue lion, if they succeed, we have to play by their rules," Allura said as Kalvin started saying, "But Princess Allura-
She stop him before she could finish before putting a finger on his lips as she let off a bit and said, "You been so strong doing this for us, your friend, Coran and I, that I am totally grateful that you been there, as I know no one can replace Sven as a friend… but whoever the blue lion does choose… I want you to treat them as an equal show the kindness that I know you have in you because your still the head of Voltron, you are the leader of the paladins, and no one can take that away from you."
Kalvin is a bit shock to say… but he understood what the princess is meaning, as she want to keep the legend of Voltron alive, even if mean going by someone else's rule, as in the end he was still the team leader and to those who are pick by the lion cannot choose a different leader, as he give a smirk and said, "Alright Princess Allura."
"You know you don't have to call me princess, at least when we're alone," Allura said as she blushes a bit with Kalvin blushed a bit as well as he said, "Ahh… sure… Allura."
With that as she smile to this and said, "Well, I think it's time you should get ready, I keep you here long enough."
"Right," Kalvin said as he stood up and started to walk out but before he did, stopping at the doorway for a bit as he turn to Allura and said, "I'll see you later then Allura."
"Same," Allura said while Kalvin left leaving Allura by herself as she give a smile.
(that the Citadel)
As the Castle of lion had arrived at the port of the citadel, Jacob and James were about to leave as Allura spoke to them one more time before they left, "I want to thank you once again for helping the team as much as you could."
"Not a problem, but it just feel maybe there was more we could have done," Jacob said as he felt back for Sven death and thought if could have train them a bit more to maybe avoid enemy fire or something as Allura said, "Same here, but I know there's nothing else we can do."
"Yeah, I just hope they can recover from this, they aren't that bad for a bunch of kids," James said as he was a bit proud on how far the team had come, but he knew there was only so much a person can do to prepare soldiers, but there was no way to prepare someone to lose a teammate like that as Allura said, "I'm sure they can, it's just a matter of giving them time to do so."
"Well then good luck Princess Allura, I just hope you can find the right person for the blue lion," Jacob said as Allura nodded and said, "Same here."
"Well then See ya princesa," James said as Allura smile and said to them, "Goodbye you two, your always welcome back here anytime."
"We'll keep that in mind," Jacob said as he and James soon left the castle of lions, with Allura given a sadden smile to this as it seem more people were leaving the castle, but she knew she cannot give up hope, as she swear to be strong for the Paladins and support them anyways she can as she knew she'll have to get ready as well to meet with the council and tell them the news of what happen in the last mission knowing that they already know what happen, but they want to make it public for everyone to hear, but she isn't going to break, not before them, and not before anyone else.
Still, this put them in a situation because without Voltron they were at a severe disadvantage. Saren would no doubt exploit any perceived weakness that the Paladins may have. This was going to be an uphill battle and Allura knew this. But they could not afford to surrender not with the Reaper threat ever closer to this galaxy. They had to keep looking or else they will all suffer for it. She only hoped Shepard was handling things better than they were.
(Scene Break Citadel Human Embassy)
John and Anderson were meeting with Udina while the rest of the crew remained at the Normandy or were using a bit of shore leave. "This is becoming troublesome Shepard." Udina said as Anderson kept his cool around the councilor. "We can't keep stalling the Council forever not after an opportunity had presented itself to place the most powerful weapon in the Galaxy under Alliance control." Udina said but Anderson had objection.
"Opportunity Councilor? A young man just lost his life and all your focused on is the lion he left behind." Anderson said as John was with Anderson on this one.
"His demise was a tragedy I admit but we can use this." Udina said thinking about politics. "We already have a human SPECTRE if Voltron was firmly Alliance controlled." Udina said until John cut in.
"It will make the other Citadel Races sacred and itchy fingered against us." John said as he saw the problem with Voltron being strictly Alliance controlled. "A war would just be waiting to happen with Voltron in any, one races control we can't allow for that." John said as he kept to his guns on this one.
"Don't be so simplistic Commander yes the initial outcry will spark argument but if we negotiate from a position of power." Udina said until Anderson cut him off.
"Then we risk having the races of the Citadel turning on us." Anderson said refusing to start a war over this.
"This stalling will only cause us more problems." Udina said as he knew what was going on. "We need to start sending our best now." Udina said which John cut in.
"If or when the need should arrive, I'll inform you but until then Voltron is freelance." John said making it clear that he won't force those kids or have them get drafted.
"Ambassador when it comes to military matters leave it to actual soldiers." Anderson said adding the fact that Udina's focus should be on the political arena. But before anything else could be said Anderson went to end the discussion. "Right now, we have a rogue SPECTRE out there attacking human colonies we should focus on that issue first before the newer ones." Anderson said and John agreed.
It seems Udina was cornered and thus with a growl he let it be. "Very well." Udina said and while he did not like it Anderson made a good point.
"Good, now I should go I need to continue my investigation." John said as he needed to get a new lead on Saren.
(Later)
John and Anderson were in a sky taxi as they were heading elsewhere in the Citadel. "Things are getting messy Shepard." Anderson said as he knew what it was. "The bounty on the Lions, opposing powers attempting to make their own Voltron." Anderson said listing off some of the new threats. "Alliance Command is getting shifty with these new developments and with this Project Titan of theirs I can't afford to stall them forever." Anderson said as they rode to the space port.
"Just try at this point we can't afford any mistakes." John said knowing that if the Alliance or the Citadel got Voltron a lot of issues will result from it.
"I agree but it took those Lions over 50,000 years to find pilots we can't afford to wait that long." Anderson said and John sighed.
"I know... but if worse comes to worse I'll accept any decision made." John said as he knew they could not keep this up forever.
"Alright then I'll keep them busy, but you need to find a new pilot stat." Anderson said as John nodded.
"Of course." John said but that was easier said than done. They've tried with everyone on both ships and none of them were compatible. Joker can't do it on account of his medical condition and the fact he was needed on the Normandy. They needed to find a replacement Paladin soon because otherwise Voltron's days might be numbered.
(Back at the Castle of Lions)
The group was still in the Lounge as they tried to think of a way to fill the Blue Lions role. "Maybe someone from the Quarian fleet can help us out." Penny suggested as they knew Tali might know someone there who can answer the call.
"The Quarians are neutral so seeking aid from them might be a good start." Allura said as she saw the benefit of utilizing the Quarians. "Plus, it might prove us well to have the Quarians as allies." Allura said as this was a good idea on her part.
"Well, it would be a good place to start assuming Tali won't mind giving us directions to get there." Leon said as he saw that the Flotilla was small and had plenty for the Lion to choose from.
"Alright I'll make the call and." Hector began before alarms were blaring.
"Display now!" Allura called out and thus a screen showed up and showed an SOS Signal being broadcast.
"It looks like merchant fleet is being hit by the Geth." Penny said as she saw what was going on.
"Why would the Geth attack merchants?" Hector asked and thus Kalvin saw why.
"They want us of course, no Blue Lion no Voltron... they want to exploit that." Kalvin said seeing right through them.
"But we cannot and shall not let those innocent people suffer for us." Allura said before directing her attention to the Paladins. "Paladins to your lions stat!" Allura called out before looking to Coran. "Coran prepare the Castle of Lions for launch!" Allura added and thus it was time to move.
"Of course, princess." Coran said and they in turn got moving.
(Later outside)
From the docked Castle of Lions, the four Lions flew out and flew towards a wormhole that Allura had made to the SOS's location. "Alright guys let go in and hit them hard keep the enemy off those civilian ships at all costs." Kalvin said as he gave the orders.
"Right!" Leon, Hector, and Penny all responded just before they flew into the wormhole.
(Merchant Fleet Location)
The wormhole opened up and from it the Lions flew out and as they found the Geth were indeed attacking the fleet. It was a few ships with one of them already being disabled by the Geth fleet. "Alright you all know the plan move in and take out the enemy ships!" Kalvin called out and thus the Paladins got moving.
Firing off lasers from their tails and maws the Lions went after the Geth ships while trying to give the merchant ships room to escape. Taking out the Geth fighters the Lions moved but it was clear that without the blue lion they could not form Voltron. The Geth were given orders and knew that the Paladins were short a lion. So, taking full advantage of it they began their attack on Voltron.
Yellow Bashed through a few Geth fighters while Black and Green had their maw blades drawn. Nearby Red Lion fired off his heat beam burning his way through the Geth fighters left and right. But the Geth swarmed in on the robot lions using numbers and tactics the Geth would not let this chance slip them by for Saren or the old machines.
But it would seem that the Geth had acquired or developed some greater fire power no doubt in response to the robot lions. So, the Lions were soon bombarded with rockets as the four cried out from the attack. "That's new!" Leon called after he recovered from the surprise.
"Our lions took a bad hit there!" Penny added noting how her instruments responded to the attack.
"We need to regroup." Kalvin said aware that as they are they were sitting ducks.
"On it!" Hector said and thus they flew to regroup with each other to re-strategize. The Geth however were not going to let that happen as they flew in and attacked the Lions head one. The Robot Lions were forced to avoid the attacks as they could not gather at this time.
"These guys won't give!" Leon called out as they tried to hold their ground.
Just then a stray shot hit one of the merchant ships causing the group to go wide eyed. "The ships!" Penny cried and thus Hector went moving.
"I got it!" Hector called out and went to the ships and began to push his Lion against them. His intent was to get the ships out of the line of fire.
"Penny, Leon we need to cover Hector!" Kalvin called and thus they got moving to give Hector cover fire.
The Geth continued their attack as they intended to take the Lions down once and for all. Meanwhile Hector was struggling as his Lion may be powerful in brute strength even, he had limits. "Come on, come on." Hector struggled as he tried to push the ship out of harm's way. But it was not enough as he barely made any progress doing this. That was when something happened the front claws and the back of Yellow began to glow and in doing so shifted. On the back of the Yellow Lion was heavy armor and boosters to go with it as the front claws now had larger claws attached to it. This allowed the Yellow Lion the needed boost to push the ship out of harm's way.
"Wow check it out!" Leon called as they saw that the Yellow Lion had gained a power up.
"So, Ion Cannon, Sonic Blaster, and now a Booster frame." Penny said listing off the weapons each Lion had revealed thus far.
But despite this an explosion reminded the Paladins that they were still in the middle of a fight right now. "It won't do us much good without some backup!" Leon called out as they had to hold the line for as long as possible.
(Meanwhile back in the Castle of Lions)
"We need help!" Penny called out as the Castle was already on the way there.
"Coran we must hurry." Allura said as the crew was working tirelessly to make the journey to the battle zone.
"Of course, Princess." Coran called out as Allura could hear the Paladins struggle. The loss of Sven had taken its toll on them, and their unity had suffered for it. Allura could not keep her strong front up for long as she had to hurry. 'Please hurry, please don't let them die.' Allura mentally begged as she knew if they did not make it in time then the Paladins would surely expire. Moving towards the wormhole Allura was nervous panicked even as she did not want to lose any more people she had come to care for.
But when they were mere moments from the Wormhole Allura heard something, she thought she would never hear, a roar a call to arms. Looking to where it came from Allura was wide eyed as Coran noticed her look. "Princess what's wrong?" Coran asked and thus Allura looked back to Coran.
"Coran take over I need to do something!" Allura responded as she ran out of the room with one location in mind, the Blue Lions lair.
"Princess wait!" Coran called out but alas Allura was already gone.
(Later with Allura)
It did not take long for Allura to reach her destination. But when she did, she looked to the Blue Lion and once more heard the growl as its eyes flashed to life showing that it had made its choice. The only thing Allura felt she could do in that moment was smile as she saw that while she could not pilot her fathers red lion, she would certainly pilot the blue lion as its paladin. Now it was time for Allura to answer the call.
(Back with the Lions)
The battle against the Geth ships continued as the Lions and Paladins attempted to fight back. Hector had moved the ship to safety and had rejoined the fight but as things currently were, they were at a disadvantage. The Geth were attacking with relentless savagery as they intended to bring down the Lions here and now.
Kalvin saw this and knew that they had to do something but with constant fire from all sides it was clear they were about to lose. So as the Geth Ships moved into position for the final thrust the Paladins waited for the worse. But then salvation arrived as from nowhere a powerful beam hit the Geth ship taking it out of the fight.
Looking to the source the Paladins saw the Castle of Lions had joined the fight and was firing its lasers at the Geth. "Have no fear Coran is here!" Coran announced as he commanded the bridge. "Thought you lot may need some help, so I decided to cut in." Coran said with a smile on his face as the Castle of Lions crew was providing the party with much needed aid.
"Thanks, but four lions and a support ship doesn't exactly fill me with confidence." Leon said before a new voice was heard.
"Then it's a good thing it's not four lions." Allura was heard and then from the Castle of Lions the Blue Lion shot out and fired its ice beam at several Geth ships.
"ALLURA?!" Kalvin, Leon, Penny, and Hector all cried out as they saw Allura was in the Blue Lion.
"But how?" Kalvin asked as he saw Allura was in the Blue Lion.
"Who cares!? You and Blue how awesome is that?!" Penny called out happy that the Lions were back to full staff now.
"It surprised me too, but it was a happy surprise." Allura said as she smiled and since she had little time to change, she was only in her jumpsuit and helmet.
"Well, this puts the odds in our favor now." Kalvin said as this meant they had the advantage. "Now let's deal with the GETH attack!" Kalvin called out and in turn the five Lions reunited all charged into the fray firing beams from their maws and tails. Going through the battle the Lions were dominating the battle using their maw blades and lasers to eliminate the Geth.
The Geth saw that they were now on the losing side of this fight and the only logical thing to do was to fall back and alert Saren and the old machine of the Blue Lions return. So, with that being said the Geth turned around and began to fall back live and fight another day.
"Should we chase them down?" Penny asked and thus Kalvin turned his head.
"No let them go, we need to rework our strategies and alert my father about Blue making a choice." Kalvin said and in turn Hector sighed to this.
"Good I rather not find a Robeast waiting for us." Hector said and with their decisions made the five made their way back to the Castle of Lions to contact Shepard and let him know what had happened.
(Scene Break Castle of Lions)
Once the Castle of Lions and her crew ensured the fleet would be able to make the journey in peace, they returned to the station they were docked at and called Shepard. Needless to say, he was happy at the news being given to him. "Well, this was a surprise." John said as he stood before the group on the screen.
"Yes, now that we have five Lions Voltron is once again in our deck of cards." Coran said with a calm yet happy demeanor.
"But Princess Allura being the Paladin. It's both a blessing and struggle." John said as while it might make several people upset this would also keep Voltron from falling into the wrong hands. "Speaking off where are the Paladins?" John asked as he noted that the Paladins were missing.
"Paying their respects." Shiala said as she knew why they were doing it.

Kalvin stood in front of the Blue Lion with a longing look in his eyes. "We've certainly been through a lot haven't we... Sven?" Kalvin asked as he looked to the Lion Sven once operated. "We've had good times and bad... but I guess this is where we part ways." Kalvin said before letting out a sad sigh. "Sven you were my brother and I'm going to miss you." He finished as he got ready to take his leave.
But then the door opened and from it, Kalvin saw Allura had entered the room now in her own Paladin armor but in pink. "Pink?" Kalvin asked as he suspected she'd wear blue.
"On Altea we wear this color to honor our fallen warriors." Allura said as she looked at her armor with a smile. "I wear it to honor the Paladins of old... and Sven." Allura said and thus Kalvin smiled to this.
"It suits you." Kalvin said admitting that Allura looked good in the armor.
"Thank you." Allura said and thus the door opened again.
"Can't be Paladin without your Bayard." Penny said as Leon held out the blue Bayard for Allura.
"And me without a cake." Hector said as he was happy for Allura.
Allura took the Bayard and smiled at it happy to play a bigger role now. "Sven would have been honored that you took his place." Kalvin said as he was grateful that Allura was now the Paladin for Blue. "But we still have work to do." Kalvin said as Allura agreed with the teams current Black Paladin.
"That's right we still need to find Saren and beat him to the Conduit, whatever it is." Allura said as they now had the coordinates to where the Mu Relay is. Beating Saren to it came first but also was the need to find his base of operations. Hopefully, Shepard had something they can use to find Saren's location. The only thing they can do for now is wait and hope for the best. But when the time comes the Paladins will be ready to act.
