During season 4 episode 'Psycomedian.' Sad Ladybug instead of an angry one.

Angry Ladybug was really funny but I though having her being one of the crying victims would be sweet with Chat there to comfort her.

I guess u could call this a 'hurt/comfort/crack' story. She's sobbing constantly but not in a serious way and Chat is there for her.

Day #22: Shhh

Ladybug really thought that she and Chat Noir had this akuma in the bag.

Her lucky charm had given her a make-up kit so she could paint her eye lids so it looked like they were open when they were actually closed. That way when Psycomedian tried to use his powers on her to change her mood, it didn't actually work on her. And while her eyes were closed, Chat was watching from a rooftop to let her know when to move. All so she could get close enough to him and take his big red nose—where they were so sure the akuma was.

It had worked. When the akumatized clown saw her standing in the middle of the road with her yoyo ready and her 'eyes wide open,' he jumped out and stared at her with his happy mask.

Unaffected, Ladybug still doubled over, kneeling on the ground as she pretended to laugh uncontrollably, her head down. Thinking that he'd subdued her, Psycomedian calmly walked over to her and was about to take her earrings when Chat Noir yelled out "Now Ladybug!"

The spotted heroine sprang up immediately, surprising the clown as she redirected his arm and then plucked his nose right off his face. She backflipped away from him before tossing the nose to her partner up above. Chat Noir cataclysmed it then threw it back to her. But when she crushed it in her hand, no butterfly flew out.

Psycomedian laughed at their mistake. Taken off guard, Ladybug didn't think to look away when he changed his mask to an angry face. And right after he retrieved another red nose from his fanny pack, put it on and honked it, Ladybug shouted and attacked him with blind fury.

She threw a garbage can, which he dodged, then she got closer and just started throwing punches and kicks.

Chat was concerned. He'd never seen his lady that angry. It was reckless, fighting him like that. He had to help her.

Chat jumped down from the roof and tried to get between them, but all that accomplished was his lady's pointless rage being directed at him.

"Milady, stop! I'm not your enemy!" he said while dodging her punches and kicks.

"You're in my way!" she screamed angrily before gripped his arm and threw him over her shoulder, launching him into the side of a parked car.

Chat landed on the ground. "Ow," he grunted as he picked himself up again. "It might have been a bad idea to get her angry," he said to Psycomedian just across the street.

"My thoughts exactly," the villain agreed. Ladybug turned back toward him, intent on attacking him again. "Your temper is powerful, Ladybug. So let's put that fire out with some tears."

Psycomedian's mask changed to a sad face as Ladybug stared daggers at him. One honk of his nose and her angry snarl quickly fell to a trembling lip and misty eyes.

"Wahhhh!" Ladybug cried. Fat tears rolled down her cheeks as she crumpled to the ground, on her knees.

Much better, both Psycomedian and Shadowmoth thought as the villain calmly approached her. Now totally helpless and sad, taking her earrings off her would be a piece of cake.

If her partner hadn't come swooping in to save her.

Chat Noir swung his baton, knocking the creepy clown away from his distressed lady.

"How dare you make my lady cry!" he snapped at him, standing protectively in front of her.

Psycomedian changed his mask back to the sad face and honked his nose, but Chat covered his eyes in time. Chat couldn't fight this guy like this, and his lady wasn't in any condition to help him. Plus, they both used their powers so they didn't have long before they detransformed.

Chat put his baton away, turned around, quickly scooped up his partner into his arms, and jumped clear over the closest building.

They needed to regroup and recharge.

Chat didn't stop running or jumping until he reached the empty zoo. He turned around and didn't see the akuma or anyone else.

"Okay. I don't think he's following us," he said to himself before turning his attention down to the crying girl in his arms. He was carrying her bridal-style as she cried into his shoulder. As much as he thought it was sweet how she clung to him, she couldn't stay like that all day. "Aww, don't cry, LB," he tried to sooth her, rubbing at her arm.

"He was going to take my miraculous! And you saved me kitty!" she cried before wrapping her arms around him, hugging him. "Even after I threw you into a car!" she sobbed. "I'm so sorry!"

"It's okay, milady. I forgive you," he said, rubbing her back. But she continued to sob loudly. Even though he knew she wasn't actually sad, hearing her cry this much hurt his heart. "Shhh, it's okay," he whispered, still trying to calm her down.

"No, it's not okay!" she hollered. "I attacked you and tried to hit you. I'm the worse partner ever!" she sobbed even harder.

"No you're not. I know you couldn't control your emotions—kinda like right now," he reassured her, muttered that last part. Then he heard his ring and her earrings chime. They only had three minutes left. "We're about to detransform. We need to find someplace safe," he said, starting to walk around, looking for a suitable place for them to recharge. "Maybe once you detransform, Psycomedian's spell will be broken."

"And what if it doesn't?" Ladybug cried, rubbing at her eyes. All her tears had washed off that make-up on her eye lids. "I can't help you fight that villain like this! I'm a useless, blubbering mess!"

"Milady, stop that," he lightly but strongly told her, drawing her teary, red eyes up to look at him. "You might not be able to stop crying right now but you can still help me. We just need to come up with a plan," he assured her. He wasn't sure how yet but he was confident that after she used her lucky charm, it would point them in the right direction. It usually did. Then his eyes landed on a manhole cover. "But first, we need to detransform and feed our kwamis."

After removing the manhole cover, Chat jumped down into the sewer, his lady still in his arms. He ran for a bit, looking for one of those Y-shaped split tunnels. Those were perfect for when they had to detransform quickly during a battle.

Finally, he found one, and with barely two minutes left.

"Here, this should be fine," he said, standing on one of the sides. Chat tried to lower Ladybug down and back onto her feet but she wouldn't release her arms from around his neck. "Milady, I have to put you down now," he said patiently.

"No! Please don't leave me, kitty!" she cried, holding on even tighter.

Again, Chat thought it was cute and a bit flattering that she wanted him close, but this wasn't the time.

"I'm not. I won't go far, I promise. I'll just be on the other side of that wall," he said, pointing to the concrete wall behind her. Both their miraculouses chimed again. One minute left. "Remember, we can't see each other's identities," he said a bit more urgently.

Ladybug sniffled before looking at him teary-eyed and reluctantly nodded her head.

Finally, she loosened her hold and he was able to unwind her arms from around him and put her down on the ground. Chat ran around to the other side. Second later, a green light spread from his feet to his head, turning him back into Adrien Agreste. From around the corner, he could see a pink light briefly flash.

Adrien handed Plagg a piece of camembert from his shirt. "Feeling any better, milady?" he spoke sweetly with his hand on wall separating them. He was startled but not exactly surprised by the sudden and very loud sobbing wail of his lady. Nope. Still affected.

"It's so dark and lonely down here!" Marinette cried where her partner had left her; on the floor of the tunnel, her back against the middle wall, and her kwami in her cupped hand. "Tikki, are you almost done?" she asked the little creature.

"This macaroon is so good! You really out-did yourself!" Tikki cried before taking another bite, tears falling from her huge eyes as she chewed.

Adrien sighed. Not only did detransforming not cure her but apparently her kwami was affected too.

"Maybe she'll calm down when she transforms again?" he asked Plagg.

Plagg just shrugged.

Sure enough, after both their kwamis were done eating, they both called on their transformations again. But afterwards, Chat Noir could still hear crying from the other side of the wall.

Knowing that it was safe to, Chat turned the corner and his lady was still sitting them, newly transformed, sobbing with her face in her hands.

"Milady?"

Ladybug's head snapped up and stared at him as fresh tears came pouring from her eyes. "Kitty!" she cried before bolting up from the floor and colliding with his chest. "Oh Chat, it didn't work! I can't stop crying!" she sobbed into his chest.

Chat wrapped his arms around her and rubbed her back again. "Shhh, it's okay. We'll figure something out." He knew the gesture and reassuring words wouldn't actually make her stop crying because of the akuma's spell but he still felt like he should. He pushed her back by her shoulders a bit, just enough to look at her. "Let's just get topside, find Psycomedian, then when you use your lucky charm again, we'll be able to defeat him no problem. Then you'll purify the akuma, and reset everything. I'm sure you'll feel much better after that," he explained. That he was positive of. If anything could reversion this mood-spell, it was her miraculous cure.

More tears fell from Ladybug's eyes, which she quickly tried to wipe away from under one of her eyes with the heel of her hand. "Why can't I be optimistic like you?"

"You can be, just not right now. The spell on your emotions has you too sad to think about anything else," Chat replied. Ladybug had her moments of doubt but overall, she was very optimistic. But then Chat frowned, reaching up and wiped another tear away from under her opposite eye. "Still…I hate seeing you cry like this," he said, saddened now too.

Ladybug sniffled. "You're so sweet, kitty," she said, her crying much softer as she leaned her head into his chest again.

Chat held her close, tucking her head under his chin and continued to rub her back.

Hearing her broken sobs broke his heart into millions of pieces. But he wouldn't want to be anywhere else but with her in her time of sorrow—akuma spell or not. He just hoped she never genuinely cried like this in the future.

But if she did and came to him, he'd still comfort her just like this.

I wrote this idea down a while back and hoped to write it as a one-shot. I took the prompt 'Shhh' and associated it with the shushing sound one makes when comforting someone sad. Hence, I thought my idea would work well with it. Fairly proud with how it turned out.
