Quintessence Effect
ESKK: A brand new chapter that much closer we are to the end of this arc. I'm so excited to see the conclusion. Still there is much work to do and we hope you all continue to support this series to the end. Now this chapter will take place around the DLC Quest Bring Down the Sky so at this point you might know what's going on. Now lets get the chapter started.
(Start Citadel Council Serpent Nebula)
"So, I assume that you've both received the reports." Tevos said as she, Sparatus, and Valern were meeting in private once more.
"Hard not to." Valern said as he sounded upset.
"IT seems that Voltron has regained its full numbers." Sparatus said as he did not like how that turned out.
"And with that our chances of planting someone to take the role." Valern said which was why he was upset.
"The fact the role was taken by Princess Allura is concerning." Tevos said as she saw what this could mean for them. "The fact that no progress has been made in recreating Voltron suggests that there is a variable we are left unaware of." Tevos said as she felt there was more.
"Earning the Princess trust may help but as it stands the Alliance has more of her trust then we do." Sparatus said as he thought it over. "If we are to gain her trust at least enough to share some of Voltron's secrets then perhaps we need to offer something of value." Sparatus said but then Valern spoke up.
"I was actually thinking along similar lines." Valern said which got Tevos's attention. "As you both know Citadel law states the prohibition of genetic experiments and modifications." Valern said as he began to offer an idea. "Perhaps, and this is hypothetical, perhaps we can offer Allura the one thing she cannot gain on her own." Valern said and thus all eyes were on him. "The return of her people." Valern said which got Tevos worried.
"Are you suggesting that we use genetic manipulation to clone a new Altean species?" Tevos asked as she had her own concerns about this.
"It's merely a suggestion but one that holds its merits you must admit." Valern said as he looked to his fellows.
"We outlawed such practices for a reason." Sparatus said as he made clear that he was against this.
"Yes, we did." Valern said with a calm tone. "But I'm not saying we do it right out the bat, I'm simply suggesting that we consider our options with it." Valern said as he made clear of what he was planning. "If we can endear ourselves to the Princess earn her trust, we can offer this to her within reason." Valern said as he looked to the group.
"This show of good faith would in turn allow for Allura to lower her guard around us providing us with an avenue to learn what we can about Voltron." Tevos said and thus she sighed to this. "If we do proceed with this path... then I suggest we tread carefully one misstep would very well turn Allura against this Council." Tevos said and thus Sparatus grunted as he hated to admit this idea was a good one even if it was risky.
"We best tread carefully if this fails and the people learn of this." Sparatus said as it was clear how bad it would make them look. It would make them look like manipulative monsters taking advantage of the sole survivor of Altea for their own ends. But they had a path now and this was the only way to learn the secrets of Voltron to recreate it themselves.
(Scene Break Normandy)
John saw in his office looking over the latest report from the Castle of Lions shrink. So far progress was being made on the Paladins in terms of their mental wellbeing after Sven's death. They each took it hard but were improving which John felt was a good thing. More so Allura was adjusting well as the Blue Lions pilot. The fact they knew each other already played a role in the Paladins teamwork with her.
"Commander," Ashley said sounding something was urgent as John turn her and said, "What is it ash, something wrong?"
"We got a SOS signal within the Asgard System, Exodus Cluster, asteroid X57, and we're being called into action," Ashley said as John soon ask, "Is it Saren or the Geth?"
"Unknown, but there's report of fusion torches are out of control," Ashley said as John said, "We'll respond, I'll get a hold of the Paladins and get them to meet us there, This maybe a good warm up for them."
"Understood commander," Ashley said as she smile a bit as she was happy to see the paladin team again as she wonder what they are doing right now.
(Castle of lions)
"You got to be careful Allura one wrong move and that is it," Kalvin said as he sounded very worry as he was looking down at something with Allura sweating a bit as she held a pair of tweezers said, "Please let me focus, I don't want to risk losing everything."
Zooming out showing the paladins were playing a game of operation, as it seem they were on the last with all the other paladins were watching very closely at this, some may ask how did this get started?
Well first up it started off with basic training of hand to hand, Biotic training for those who has them, and targeting shooting where Leon was the best at it with Allura did pretty well herself to get a tied score with him, with an argument started saying Leon is the best at everything with some would argue he's not and so the paladins got into games of shooting hoops in basketball which everyone hated Penny as she use her Biotic to win it, connect four which gave mix results everyone was getting tied games, arm wrestling which Allura won a lot from as it seem Alteans are a lot stronger than they appeared, then came the bean bag toss, Dance-dance Galaxy revolution, card game to bluff the other person, and now it came down to a game of operation where everyone hardly played it.
In the game instead of switching out every time someone touches the side, the game is reset and the person lost is a loser, with most of the paladin lost the game as it came down to Allura, and Leon as it seem they have the steadier hands for this game as Allura carefully reaches for a bone piece as sweat slowly drop down from her head as then Coran came in and interrupting Allura as she touch the side while he said, "Paladins there's a call from the Normandy!"
Allura: Quiznak!
Leon: YES!
Penny: Ah man!
Hector: Your ruin the game.
Kalvin: Thanks a lot Coran.
"Oh, sorry were you guys in the middle of something?" Coran asked with all the paladin saying at the same time, "YES!
"Well sorry about that, but we're getting a call from the Normandy, it seem Shepard has a new mission for us," Coran said as Kalvin sighed to this and said, "Alright, let see what he wants."
(Castle command bridge)
The group arrived with John soon give the report of what's going on as he soon finish saying, "And it seem we got some fusion torches out of control with no sigh of the asteroid stopping or avoiding the nearby planet it heading towards."
"We'll head over straight away and meet the Normandy there," Kalvin said as he knew this didn't sound good at all and no doubt Voltron may be needed as John said, "Understood, over and out."
"Alright Paladins suit up!" Kalvin said to the team as Allura took the helm of the ship and said, "I'll open a wormhole to the location hopefully we can get there in time to stop that Asteroid."
"sounds good," Kalvin said as all the paladin went off and get ready for this next mission, as this would be the first mission without Sven, as Kalvin pray that they do well on this one with Allura now.
(Asteroid x-57)
A wormhole open with the Normandy coming out first with the castle of lion next sense this was an emergency there no time to get to a mass relay as both crew saw what was happen as Commander Shepard said, "What the status of the situation!"
"Status: Sensor reveal three fusion torches propelling asteroid X-57. At its current rate of acceleration, the asteroid will collide with Terranova in approximately four hours," the V.I Program told him as John Shepard knew they will have to act fast to stop this thing
(Castle of lions)
"4 hours and 2 minutes exactly until impact on Terranova," Rover said acting as a V.I still as Penny was in her lion as she said, "You guys heard that?"
"Yeah, we got it, let get this done as every second counts," Kalvin said from the black lion as the team was ready to launch as then Kalvin went to Coran and said, "Coran if we can't stop this thing within 3 hours, try to evacuate as many people as you can within the castle of lions."
"There got to be at least over a million people down there, The castle can't hold that many," Penny said as Allura said, "I allow it, if can't stop this, the least we can do is save as many people that we can."
Allura may hate it but if there a chance to save a single life that is important to someone then that's good enough for her.
(space)
Suddenly both the castle and the Normandy was picking up a signal from the Asteroid itself as they all heard, "Hello *static* I heard your transmission c-*static* you hear me? *static* -hey haven't found me yet, but can-*static* talk long"
"Please shut down the fusion torches, or we're all going to die. God, I hope you hearing this." The voice said as soon enough the Mako, and the Lions launched onto the meteor where the Fusion Torches were located. Once the Lions landed with the Mako the game plan was set.
"Alright we have three of these torches to shut down." John began as the team made sure that their suits were pressurized before departing. "One team will hit the first, the second team will hit the second and then we'll rendezvous at the third one." John said as he looked to the Paladins vis the comm links.
"Seems simple enough." Penny said as they were ready to roll. "Any idea who's doing this?" Penny asked and thus Shepard turned his head.
"No but I intend to find out." John said and thus they had to move. "Come on we're on the clock we have less the four hours to stop this asteroid." John said and in turn they got moving. The Lions went in one direction while the Mako went the other. Thanks to the Lions they drew more attention and in turn left whoever the hijackers were unaware of the Lions.
(Later with the Paladins)
The Paladins were flying over the Asteroid making their way towards the second Torch. They had not gotten word from Shepard team yet but with the lions roaming the area whoever was doing this would no doubt focus on the bigger threats. "So how bad we talking if this rock hits Terra Nova?" Leon asked as he was a bit worried.
"Mass Extinction, echo system destruction, the heat of the impact will vaporize everything for 100's of kilometers and not to mention clothing being set on fire while you're still wearing them." Penny said as she led with that one.
"So, are we talking Dinosaurs go extinct?" Hector asked but Penny had more.
"Trust me that would look like a sneeze in comparison this asteroid is five times the size of the one that wiped out the dinosaurs." Penny said and thus this was bad.
"Alright then keep your eyes peeled Penny try to see if you can come up with alternative means of bringing down those torches." Kalvin said as they needed every advantage they can find.
"Already on it." Penny said as they flew towards the second heat torch. But before they can land turret fire went off targeting the lions causing them to back off. "Shit contact!" Penny cursed and thus the battle began.
"They have turret emplacements!" Allura said as she got a read out of the scene. "Whoever these terrorists are they seem intent on staying around." Allura said seeing the issue with this.
"Alright Paladins scatter and take out those turrets!" Kalvin called and thus they got to work. Locating each of the turrets they began firing off their lasers at the placements. One by one the turrets were taken down clearing the path to the Heat Torch. The Paladins finished quickly enough while keeping a close eye on the timer knowing they had to be quick less Terra Nova dies from a meteor impact.
"Alright Turrets are gone." Hector said and thus they all got down to landing.
"Alright let's move!" Kalvin called out and in turn the Paladins brought the Lions in for a landing.
(Later inside the Facility)
After the Paladins had landed it was a short walk to the facility where they were able to enter without much issue. Once inside in full gear and guns they began to make their way towards the door where they intended to find the terrorists inside. Leon and Hector had their Bayard's active, Penny had a shotgun, Allura had a pistole out, and Kalvin had a rifle at the ready. Moving towards the door Allura had a few issues with what was going on out here.
"This is horrible who would do something like this? To condemn an entire world to extinction?" Allura asked as they got to the door.
"We're about to find out." Leon said and in turn they opened the door and were wide eyed at what they found. On the other side of the door was a group of aliens that the Mindior inhabitants recognized on the spot.
"Batarians." Kalvin said as he glared at the for eyed aliens who in turn saw them.
"Fire!" One of the Batarians called out and thus the Paladins moved behind the door with Kalvin using his shield to block them.
Once his team was back out, they hid behind crates and the wall as Kalvin closed the door behind him. "Batarians why did it have to be Batarians!?" Hector complained as they heard the Batarians firing at the door.
"I thought these guys were slavers not genocidal maniacs!" Penny said as she hid behind a crate.
"They must be extremists." Kalvin said as they continued to hide. "Ok new plan, Hector when I open the door take point and clear a path." Kalvin began but Hector didn't like it.
"Why do I have to clear a path?" Hector asked as he did not like it.
"Because you got the big gun." Kalvin explained before looking to the others. "Leon Penny once Hector starts firing slip past him, go right, and find a spot to snipe and use your biotics." Kalvin said as he looked over to Leon and Penny.
"Got it." Leon said as Penny nodded ready to move.
"Allura you're with me." Kalving pointed to himself with his thumb.
"Right." Allura said with a nod now ready to move.
Kalvin got ready to open the door again and with a nod he did it. "GO!" Kalvin said while pressing the button to open the door. Once that was done Hector charged in and opened fire on the Batarians. Once that was done Leon and Penny slipped in moving to one side while Kalvin and Allura did the same but for the other side. Entering the room Hector was making his way towards cover as he took down Batarians and Varans left and right.
Kalvin fired at an explosive tank and with it took out a few of the Batarians before charging in with his Bayard and slicing through the others. Making their way through the Batarians the Paladins showed that their training paid off in the end. Allura then activated her own Bayard resulting into an energy whip that she swung about with ease taking out the Batarians left and right. Once that was done the room was secured.
"My first interactions with these slaver pigs." Allura said glaring down at a dead Batarian. "I knew wouldn't like them." Allura said as Kalving chuckled a bit.
But he had to call this in and thus made it. "First Squad we've made contact with the enemy, be advised we're dealing with Batarians." Kalvin said as he called up his old man.
"Yeah, no kidding." John quipped as this got Kalvin's attention.
"You also made contact?" Kalvin asked as he heard his father's voice.
(With John's team)
Shepard was covering Tali as she was deactivating the heat torch. Surrounding them were several dead Batarians and Varen as John looked at them all. "You can say that." John said as he saw the bodies around him. "We're deactivating the heat Torch you do the same with yours and rendezvous at the third Heat Torch." John ordered and thus Kalvin understood.
(Back with the Paladins)
"10/4 roger." Kalvin said and thus ended the call. "Let's move." Kalvin said and in turn he lead his team up the stairs to where the Terminal was located. When then entered the room, they saw the Terminal in question and quickly got to work on it. "Penny get on that console and shut this thing down." Kalvin said pointing to where the terminal was.
"Right." Penny said and thus she headed over and began working on shutting down the Terminal. Once Penny got to the Terminal, she began to access it and not long after the slow hum of the Heat Torch shutting down could be heard. "Done and done." Penny said with a smirk on her face.
"Ok let's move out and deal with the final." Kalvin began when the ground shook under them knocking the group over.
"The hell?!" Leon asked and thus Hector had a hunch.
"Don't be a Robeast, don't be a Robeast, don't be a Robeast, don't be a Robeast." Hector was chanting and begging as he knew only an impact could make that kind of shake.
(Outside)
The group got back outside, and, in the distance, they saw the Robeast coffin in the distance. "Dammit." Hector cursed realizing what it was. "Why, why can't you give me this!" Hector cried out as he saw what was happening.
"First team update we got a Robeast moving to engage. Kalvin said and thus John nodded.
"Confirmed draw the Robeast away from the Heat Torches." John said and thus the Paladins nodded.
"Alright let's move." Kalvin said and thus they headed back to their lions as fast as possible.
(Later)
The Lions were in the sky as they approached the Robeast Coffin the Robeast emerged. It was an armored one this time around hunched and seemed to drip down an acidic saliva from its maw. It then saw the lions and from its palms fired off laser shots at the lions forcing them to scatter. When the Lions got close to the ground the creature curled up and began to roll at them at blinding speed. This caused the Lions to move and avoid the attack attempt. The Robeast stopped turned around and rolled at them again this time flying off a ramp like bit and nearly hitting the Yellow Lion.
Hector cried out dodging the attack as the Lions regrouped around Black. "This is not the time for a Robeast." Leon said as he knew that they had to finish this fast and deal with the Batarians.
"Then the only thing we can do is end it quickly with our mighty friend." Kalvin said and thus everyone agreed. "On me! Form Voltron!" Kalvin called out and thus the Lions flew to the sky to begin transformation. But to their shock nothing was happening no link no bond the lions were not forming into Voltron like they normally did.
"Uh isn't this the part where we have that whole combination sequence?" Penny asked as the Paladins were surprised that they weren't forming Voltron.
Just then the Robeast once more began to fire its hand lasers at the Lions forcing them to separate once more. "What's going on? Why can't we form Voltron?" Leon asked as he was at a lost as he didn't know what was going on.
"I… I think It's me," Allura said as she sounded very worried as she heard her lion roaring but didn't fully understand it, as Kalvin looks towards the blue lion and he saw how it was moving and realize that Allura wasn't fully bonded to her lion as he give an annoying groan as he said, "It's not your Allura, you may haven't been given enough time with the blue lion to bond properly."
"Hey that guy just spit at us!" Hector said as the lions avoided the acid attack the robeast sent at them as it hit the sound of a rock hill of the asteroid as it started melting it with Leon said, "Whoa, talk about toxic loggie."
The robeast started rolling against as it came at the lions with Kalvin quickly calling out to the team, "Everyone spread out and attack from all sides, use any weapon you have to your advantage call out attack, so we don't get into each other crossfire!"
"Got it!" Everyone said as they all turn around as they soon started blasting at the robeast, as the giant monster rolled up putting up tis guard with the shot landing, but they hardly did much to it as it started spinning around as Leon said, "That didn't go well!"
"Let me try something!" hector said as he went into his boosted armor mode with yellow lion as he had bigger claws and pushed against him before they got into a stale make as the robeast keep on rolling forward while the yellow lion held it in place as sparks were seen coming off its claws as it scream against the shell of the monster, even had his boosters at full blast but was hardly doing anything against it as he could not push back against it, in fact the robeast was pushing against him slowly but surely the yellow lion was being push back until its lost its grip and gotten ran over by the monsters had Hector groan out, "Okay… that didn't work."
"How about some fire power!" Leon said as he shot a heat beam from his red lion maw as it hit the robeast, but it was dispelling the heat as it keep on rolling and hit into the red lion sending it flying as Leon yell out, "Oh shiiiiiittttt!"
The red lion crash in a nearby rock hill as Leon cry out in pain from that before groaning while the red lion slide down as Penny said, "What can we do, that thing will not stop rolling around for us to hit it."
"I got one idea, cover me!" Kalvin said as the black lion summon forth its fang blades and charge at it as they were going head to head for a moment, with the other two firing at the robeast which hardly did much as it wasn't slowing down but it keep it distracted enough as the black lion shot left at the last moment as the black lion fan blade cut at the shell a bit causing it rotation to wobble a bit before it stop and recover from the attack as Allura said, "You did it!"
"No, I only throw off its rolling attack, we need to hit it hard with everything we got before it goes again," Kalvin said as the robeast suddenly shot a spit shot at them as Penny calls out, "Toxic Loogie!"
The lion spread out to avoid being hit by it as Kalvin was about to attack until he saw the Mako driving near them as Kalvin calls out to them, "What are you guys doing! This area is a battle zone!"
"We're going for the third fusion torch to shut it down, try to keep that thing off of us," John Shepard said as Kalvin groan deep annoyed by this as he should have been giving a head up at least but there was no time to voice it as he said, "Okay change of plan, keep its attention on us, do not let it near the Mako!"
"I'll follow your lead!" Allura said as she began to fire a beam, but the beam missed its target as Allura said, "Quiznak!"
She quickly dodge a loogie that came at her as the shot hit the ground and started melting into asteroid making a new hole in it as Kalvin said, "Allura try firing an ice beam at its mouth maybe we can stop it from spitting out any more of those toxic loogie!"
"I'll try!" Allura said as her Lion turn around and fire an ice beam but only hit near its legs instead as Allura said, "Come on blue lion, listen to me!"
"This isn't good," Penny said as the blue lion wasn't fully following Allura controls as Kalvin said, "This battle isn't the right way for them to bond. Allura hang back, we'll take care of this."
"I can still fight!" Allura said as Leon cut in as he recover from his hit and said, "Yeah tell that to your lion." He fire another beat at the monster which it avoided it and fire a toxic loogie at him too with the yellow lion came up from below and grab hold of the monsters foot to grab it down as he calls out, "I got its foot, try to hit it!"
"Alright red time to show them the big gun!" Leon said as the red lion summon forth out it massive canon and fire at the robeast but its saw it coming as it rolled back up with the Yellow lion being pulled up before it rolled away with the big canon missed it shot only creating a bit hole in a rock hill with the Yellow lion spin out of control as Hector try out before he make a sickly sound with his face turning green, before his lion let go and sent flying as he scream out and crash a bit before he said, "Ow."
The blue lion came at the robeast as well trying to hit it as Kalvin call out as he said, "Allura wait, don't...!"
It was too late as the robeast slam into her as she cry out with the blue lion sent flying across the asteroid with the black lion came into intercept it as Kalvin calls out, "Allura!" but ended causing the black lion to get hit by the force of the Blue lion motion causing both of them to hit the ground hard with Kalvin cry out before he accidently smash his Omni tool on the control panel, hurting his arm a bit and breaking his omni tool as well.
"Kalvin, Allura!" Penny calls out as Leon turn to the Robeast with the red lion as he said, "You son of a bitch, I'm gonna fry you!"
The lion roar as he was angry for what the monster did to its siblings and felt his paladin anger as well as it came at the robeast and began to fire upon it with the other robeast backing him up.
with the black and blue lions)
Kalvin groan a bit as Allura call out to him, "Kal… Kal are you alright?"
"Yeah, I'm alright," He said before wench in pain a bit as he lift his arm a bit as he saw his omni-tool is busted as he went on saying, "Mostly. How about you Allura, you alright?"
"A little shaken up but I'm fine, but the blue lion isn't responding to me," Allura said as Kalvin said to her, "Rest a bit the blue lion may have just taken too much damage to move at the moment."
He cry out in pain as he move around a bit as Allura said, "Your hurt, aren't you?"
"Just a sprain, I got some omni-gel to patch me up," Kalvin said as he went to his emergency first aid kid as he open it up and found a couple of Omni-gel in it as he took one and injected it into himself before he move around a bit again and saw the pain had dissipated and any fractures, he may of have had before were take care of, "I'm alright for now."
"So, what do we do now?" Allura asked as she waited for her Lion to restart.
"You don't do anything I'll go ahead and try to take down the Robeast." Kalvin said as Allura was surprised by this.
"But I can help." Allura said but Kalvin begged to differ.
"No not like this you need to get your lion to cooperate, and you need to cooperate with your lion." Kalvin said knowing Allura was still needed for the wormholes. So, with this in mind the Kalvin moved Black Lion to leave the area and draw the Robeast away from Allura's position.
"Wait!" Allura cried out but was ignored as Kalvin flew out. "Quiznack." Allura cursed as she was now stuck here.
(Back to the battle)
The Robeast rolled around as it attempted to take the Lions out. It then uncurled and fired off its hand beams at the Lions who dodged the attack with ease. "Ok when it rolls its impervious when its unrolled it's got acid spit and hand blasters." Leon called out as he was getting annoyed with this.
"I'm trying to find a hole in its defenses." Penny said as she ran the numbers from the data she gathered.
"In coming!" Hector called out and thus the three Lions were forced to move as the Robeast came barreling towards them in its rolled-up form. Once the Lions dodged Black Lion came in and fired at the Robeast getting its attention.
"Kal! Where's the princess?" Leon asked as he was worried.
"She's safe and trying to work on her Lion." Kalvin said as he glared at the Robeast. "Right now, however we need to focus on roly-poly here." Kalvin said as he looked to the group.
"I think I got an idea, when it switches between combat positions there is a brief moment of opportunity where its left vulnerable." Penny said as she showed the moment. "If we can hit it at that very moment, we can do some damage." Penny said as she looked to the group.
"Alright you heard Penny hit and run maneuvers force it to switch positions." Kalvin said and thus the Paladins got moving. The Robeast roared as the Lions roared back before they began to circle around firing at it. The Robeast fired its beam at the Lions as they moved towards the ground. The Lions avoided the beams drawing the Robeast towards them with their attacks.
Once the Lions were on the ground the Robeast roared and began curling up. "Leon now!" Kalvin called out when he saw the Robeast curling.
"Eat this!" Leon roared firing Red Lions heat beam at the Robeast and landed a blow on it causing it to fall over and hit the asteroids mountain side. When that happened, the Lions circled around it as they got silence from the result.
"Did we get it?" Hector asked as the smoke began to clear up. When it did laser shots fired off forcing the Lions to move out of the way. "No, we did not!" Hector cried out as they avoided the shots.
"That was a direct hit how could that have flopped?!" Kalvin asked as he tried to think.
"We did damage but not enough to cause it to last." Penny said as she noted lighter armor on the Robeasts main body. "The Robeast will cause a lot of damage before we can do something that lasts." Penny said and thus this meant one thing.
"We need Voltron." Kalvin said as he realized what this meant.
(Meanwhile with Allura)
"Blasted it all." Allura said as she tried to get the Blue Lion to respond. "I order you to respond Lion." Allura demanded as she tried to get Blue to listen to her orders. But instead, all Allura got was silence and warning lights on her screen. "Ok calm down Allura and think, what would Sven do." Allura said as she tried to think about it. She then cleared her throat and got down to what she thought Sven would do. "Blue Lion I need you to respond zo ve may save zi paladins." Allura said in a poorly done Swedish accent.
Allura sat there for a moment but all she got was silence in the response. "What am I doing wrong?!" Allura cried out as she tried to think. I've tried commanding you, I've tried asking you nicely, but nothing is working." Allura said as she sat there vexed at the outcome of what was happening. "Don't you understand an entire colony is in danger of extinction, an entire facility of people is being held captive by terrorists and you're throwing a hissy fit!" Allura yelled as she glared at the controls of her Lion. "What do you want from me?!" Allura demanded letting her frustration loose as she sat there for a moment.
She looked saddened as she was faced with her own short comings. "I can't do this." Allura finally said after a time of silence. "Everyone depends on me; the universe depends on me, but I can't depend on me." Allura said as she faced the source of her trauma. "I lost everything and everyone I ever loved, and I try to control everything, so I don't lose it all again." Allura said as she thought about her people. "But I can't control everything... I need your help." Allura said and thus the Blue Lion finally responded.
With a flash of its eyes the Blue Lion activated as Allura could hear its voice in her head. "I can hear you!" Allura called out happy over what was happening. Seeing her chance Allura knew what needed to be done. "Come on Blue we need to help the Paladins." Allura said and thus activating her Lion she went to rejoin the battle.
(Back to the battle)
The Lions were continuing their fight against the Robeast, but they could barely do much damage to it. It was smart enough to know that its weakness had been found and had adjusted itself in accordance too that. But as the Paladins were struggling to find an opening a sonic blast hit the Robeast knocking it over followed by an ice beam freezing it in place. The Robeast uncurled and roared in fury before all eyes fell to the source and found the Blue Lion had rejoined the fight as the Sonic Blaster was on her lions back.
"Hello Paladins." Allura greeted as she got her lion to move.
"Allura your back!" Leon called out happy that backup has arrived.
"Yes, it took a bit of doing but the Blue Lion is now responding to my commands." Allura said as she smiled to Blue.
"That's great but we still have the issue with the Robeast." Kalvin said and as if called the Robeast roared and broke out of the ice. As it did this the group was surprised over this and knew what needed to be done.
"It's breaking out!" Penny called and thus Kalvin knew what was needed.
"Alright then only one way to end this." Kalvin said before looking towards Allura and her Lion. "Allura, can you, do it?" Kalvin asked and thus Allura nodded.
"Yes, I'm ready now." Allura said and thus it was time.
"Alright Paladins! Form Voltron!" Kalvin called out and in turn they flew upward to begin the formation proper this time.
(Forming Voltron)
Black Lion roared out as it flew forward with its arms folding into the needed sections. First it folded backward before folding into the container units and once secured Black Lion began to take on a more humanoid look. Then Green and Red Lion flew in as they flew upward leaving behind a trail of energy in there colors as when they did their legs began to fold up and secure themselves to form the arms of Voltron as once, they did they flew off to continue the formation.
Next up was Yellow and Blue Lion as they flew in and began to fold up their legs to be secured and become more leg like themselves as once, they were secured they now looked more like legs. They were now ready for the finishing touches as they got ready to form up with their prides leader the Black Lion. Red Lion attached first as once it was in the socket a connecter shot out and not only secured the arm but also made sure it was usable as this caused the Red Lion to extend a bit to be the right arm of Voltron.
Green Lion was the next to connect as its back shield was now the shoulder pad for Voltron as once Green Lion was in the socket the connection was made and secured in turn allowed the arm to extend a bit to better form the arm like with Red Lion. As this was done Green Lion roared out. Once this was done Blue and Yellow Lions began to form the legs as when they did it was shown that once the Black Lions rear legs were inside Blue and Yellow Lions it began to seal up to both connect and secure the connection as once it did and both legs were secured the transformation was almost done.
Now that the body was formed Black Lion's head was now ready as the yellow eyes then flashed as the maw opened up as first the crown formed and in turn the maw opened up to reveal the face of Voltron as soon Voltron formation was done. When the formation was done Voltron then crashed the mass of Red and Yellow Lions before splitting them apart while a current of energy went through them. Voltron then struck a pose with legs and wings spread and the right arm pointed upward before releasing a burst of Quintessence that formed the Galaxy behind it in turn as Voltron was ready for battle.
(End formation)
Voltron has returned as he towered on the Asteroid glaring at the Robeast. "That's right Voltron is back bitches!" Leon cheered as he was grinning.
"And better than ever." Penny boasted with a smile.
"Am I... a leg?" Allura asked almost excitedly to this.
"I know it's so cool." Hector responded with a smile.
"Alright Paladins we got a Robeast to deal with." Kalvin said and thus they focused their attention on the Robeast. It roared at them before firing its hand beams at the robot. Voltron managed to dodge it and in turn returned fire to the monster. The Monster was hit and when Voltron landed it curled back up and rolled directly towards the Legendary Defender. Voltron however was not one to be manhandled so easily as Voltron held his ground against the creature. Catching the creature Voltron was pushed back only for the Legendary Defender to hold his ground and toss the Robeast aside with ease. The Robeast turned around and once more went at Voltron, but Kalvin and his fellow Paladins were ready for it.
"Penny Shield now!" Kalvin called out and in turn Penny acted and Voltron summoned his shield. Voltron managed to stop the Robeasts attack and held the line. With help from his boosters Voltron forced the Robeast back before kicking it back and firing a beam at it from the red lions maw. The Robeast unfurled and from there Allura was ready for more.
But then to Allura's shock her Bayard Port opened up meaning a new weapon was ready. "My Bayard Port just activated!" Allura called out and thus Kalvin nodded.
"Then go ahead and use it, Allura!" Kalvin called out which Allura obliged. So, with a mighty roar Allura slammed her Bayard into the port and twisted it activating the new weapon. Voltron slammed his fists together and from it a new weapon formed at first glance it looked to be a sickle that was held in Voltron's right hand with the other end holding a small mace of some kind. At first the blade was retracted but then it shot open before the mace shot out a chain towards Voltron's left hand. The weapon looked very similar to that of a Kusarigama which got some of the Earthers of the Paladins excited.
"Awesome we got a Ninja weapon!" Leon called out as he was excited about this.
"I didn't think Voltron had something like this." Allura admitted as she had only ever seen the lion weapons, the sword, and the cannon.
"It's like a Kusarigama an Earth Weaponed commonly used by Shinobi and Kunoichi during the Sengoku Period of Japan." Penny said as she pulled up from her vast encyclopedia of Earth Knowledge.
"First time for everything." Kalvin said as Voltron was already spinning the chain in his other hand. The Robeast roared and in response Voltron sent the chain at the Robeast. The Robeast was unable to move fast enough as its neck was wrapped by the chain. Voltron held steady as the Robeast attempted to free itself by firing at Voltron. This proved useless as Voltron held firm against this foe. Voltron then moved running at the Robeast as the chain was retracting with his movement. The Robeast fired off a laser shot at Voltron, but Voltron jumped over his foe and sliced the arm off with a jump. Voltron landed in a crouch, but he was far from done with his foe.
Voltron moved almost like he had trained in the arts behind this weapon as he yanked the chain and pulled the Robeast off the ground and slammed him to the area nearby. Voltron freed the Chain was far from done as he had the chain wrapped around his body during a spin. The Robeast roared but Voltron was ready as he unwrapped the chain from his person and used the sickle to slice the other arm off. Now without its arms the Robeast roared in pain and fury as it attempted to use the acid once more. Voltron wasn't done as he then wrapped the chain around the Robeasts maw closing it shut before moving in and decapitating it on the spot. The Robeast fell over as the chain retracted before Voltron called off its newest weapon. The Robeast soon curled up on its back before it detonated in a blazing explosion that left a new crater on the asteroid.
"Another Robeast is out of here!" Leon called happy that Voltron was back in action.
Kalvin sighed in relief and was about to call the Normandy team when they called him. "Kalvin, I take it your team took out the Robeast?" John asked as Kalvin sighed.
"Yeah, what about your side?" Kalvin asked and thus Shepard got to it.
"Situation on our end we found the leader but he's escaping while we defuse the bombs he left." John said as gunfire went off in the background. "We need you guys to catch him." John said and thus Kalvin sighed to this.
"Guys the terrorist leader is escaping track down any ship leaving the asteroid now!" Kalvin called out but then Joker was heard on the comm.
"What would you guys do without me." Joker said and thus it was clear the Normandy found the ship.
(Meanwhile with Balak)
The Batarian Terrorist leader Balak was not having a good day. His attempt to crash the Asteroid into Terra Nova has failed all because of Shepard. Thankfully, his backup plan to plant explosives in the offices with the hostages had allowed for him to escape. Dammit all to high hell the humans had ruined everything for the Batarians again. Torfan, Elysium, and now this latest failure for them. But Balak was hopeful he knew that soon the Batarians will rise and put the humans in their place taking their revenge.
But soon enough the ship shook violently as Balak was caught off guard by it. He fell off his chair and hit his head a bit between his four eyes. Moaning in pain he got back up and tried to see what caused that only to find outside his viewing window the face of Voltron glaring at him. All four of Balak's eyes widened in shock as he stared at Voltron who was holding his ship to prevent him from escaping.
"Hi there... your about to be late for your appointment with Alliance law enforcements." Kalvin spoke through Voltron's exterior speakers. It was clear that Balak was caught, and it was all thanks to Voltron.
(Scene Break Later)
John watched as Voltron was now pushing back against the Asteroid to slow down its momentum to allow the Heat Torches to continue the asteroids journey to Terra Nova in safety. The Asteroid was to become a new space station to orbit Terra Nova. As he watched this John smiled as he saw Voltron was making a huge difference today.
"Commander." Came the voice of the chief engineer on site Simon Atwell. "I can't thank you and your team enough for all that you have done." Simon said as he was grateful for what the rescue. "Any later and we'd have upon billions of deaths on our hands." Simon said as he looked to Shepard.
"It was a team effort for all parties." Shepard said as he then looked back out to Voltron.
"I have to admit... that mech is quite a sight." Simon said as he was grateful for Voltron's aid here.
"Yeah, you get used to it after a while." John said as he was proud of Kalvin for all that he has accomplished.
"Don't know about you but that robot is going to change the universe." Simon said as he looked towards Voltron.
John then glanced at Simon's Omni-Tool and noted how well made it was to help during the mission. "Hey if you don't mind me asking where you got your Omni-Tool made?" John asked as he recalled his son was due for an upgrade.
"Oh this? In all honesty after saving my crew you can have it." Simon said as he began to hand over the Omni-Tool to John.
"You sure I wouldn't want to cause you issues down the line." John said but Simon chuckled to this.
"It's fine, you've earned it." Simon said as he insisted that John takes the tool.
"Thank you." John said and thus it was time to depart once more.
(Scene Break Later)
The Mako, was parked with the Lions as they waited for pickup as Kalvin was sitting by his Lion. "Kalvin." John said as he approached his son.
"What do you want now?" Kalvin asked as he did the job so in his mind contact should be done until next mission.
"Here." John said passing to Kalvin an Omni-Tool. "I know your do for a new one soon." John said as he looked to Kalvin.
"W-what?" Kalvin asked as he looked at the new Omni-Tool.
"It's a bit used but it should work better than the one you have now." John said as Kalvin looked to the current Omni-Tool noting that it had several issues that could not be fixed with duct tape. "You did good out there... you deserve it." John said as Kalvin took the Omni-Tool.
"I... thanks." Kalvin said as the two just sat there while Kalvin switched out the Omni-Tools and got to work on setting it up.
(Scene Break in Haggar's lab)
An Asari Commando neaten and tired was being dragged into Haggar's lab by a pair of Geth as she was clearly bruised. As they brought her in, she found herself being strapped into a pod where Haggar was hovering around it like a specter. "W-what is this?" She asked as she looked towards Haggar.
"Your metamorphosis young Asari." Haggar said as the pod closed around her. The Asari began to struggle but found her Biotic abilities lost to her as Haggar then proceeded to unleash her power into the pod. She cried out in agony as her body began to be turned into matter that was then being fed into the Robeast behind her. It was large and feminine in nature as its eyes began to glow with life being brought to it. As this happened Haggar smirked as she was close to attaining her goal her true goal.
