Kevin looked at his notes and made sure they were correct. He went to a printer with a computer and put in a password. Opened on the computer was a document named "Government findings." Kevin began typing a letter.
Dear Members of the Australian Government,"I hope this message finds you well amidst these challenging times. My name is Kevin, and I write to you from the Brisbane Emergency Bunker, where we are constantly striving to advance our medical research efforts for the betterment of our nation. Recently, an opportunity has arisen that I believe warrants your immediate attention and consideration."
"As you may be aware, the Chernobyl disaster left a legacy of radiation and its unforeseen consequences, including the emergence of giant crickets with unique genetic traits. These crickets, despite their radioactive origins, have shown remarkable resilience and immunity to certain environmental stressors, including cancer. It is our fervent belief that studying these creatures and their genetic material could hold the key to developing breakthrough treatments for cancer, which continues to affect countless lives across Australia."
"Therefore, I humbly urge the Australian government to grant approval for our team to obtain samples from these giant crickets for research purposes. This endeavor not only aligns with our mission to explore innovative solutions to pressing health challenges but also underscores our commitment to harnessing scientific advancements for the greater good. With your support, we can pave the way towards potentially life-saving treatments and reaffirm Australia's leadership in medical research."
"Thank you for your attention to this matter. I remain hopeful for a favorable response that will enable us to proceed with this vital research initiative."Yours sincerely,Kevin Brisbane Emergency Bunker
Kevin downloaded the newly made document and sent it to the government. He was hoping that they would get the approval from the government to study the animals. Then, a female Labor doodle came into and gave Kevin news.
"Doc, those crickets things are reproducing."
"What?" replied Kevin.
He walked out of the room into the chamber area. The chambers had bulletproof glass. Kevin looked into one of the chambers to see a broken egg next to other unbroken eggs. At the side of his eye was a new being. It had 4 stubby legs, an oval and transparent body , and an orange core in the middle. It looked nothing like a cricket, not even any other bug.
"There reproducing, tell the other researchers."
bang*
bang*
Kevin and the other researcher turned, seeing one of the crickets banging its head on the glass. The glass began to crack.
scatter*
The bug broke the glass and slowly crawled around, looking at its surroundings.
"W-What is that thing?!"
The cricket turned its head.
"W̷̡̱͚̊̈́ẖ̷̛͔͎̦̉̏́̈̋à̵̜̲͉̼͎̼ẗ̵̢̜̥̲̝͍́̚͝ ̴̠͕͌í̷̙͑́̕͝s̶̡͇̹̦̥̪̏͌̆͝ ̵̳̜͆͐́̊͝t̷̯̹͛h̸̘͈̟͕̠̀͐̌á̴̺̍͛́t̶̺̞̩̙͖̫͊ ̴̨̪͈̇̐̓̚͝ẗ̵͖̣́͐̂͛͊h̴̨̡̤̦̑͂̑͋̈́̔ͅi̵͖̥͒͊͆͂̎͝n̵͔͈̰̔̎̀g̷̬͍̞̈́̌̾͒?̴̢̗͇̑̓̃̉"
The cricket was able to talk in a very distorted voice. How was that even possible? In the hallway was the emergency button that opened every door. Even the doors to the chambers, because the rooms were meant for people to live in, not for unrealisticly large inscet.
The cricket then, without warning, opened its wings. One of the wings hit the button, opening all the doors.
"Shit.."
The cricket didn't waste time escaping and mauling people. Kevin started sprinting towards the exit. He heard the others' screams. He couldn't do anything about it, though. e busted down the exit and ran to a nearby tree.
He didn't close it, so a couple of crickets got out and flew off. Kevin looked around and saw a small stick and nabbed it. He then picked himself up and walked forward. Then he saw something. A campsite.
With people. Kevin knew what he had to do but it wouldn't be easy. Who would believe him right now. A couple meters away however, was the campsite of a young black labrador.
And his name, was Jean Luc.
