DANGANRONPA: OFF THE RAILS

Chapter 2 – White is for Wishing

Part 4

It took a while before the trio found their words. What they had found swirled around in their heads as Wally groaned. "So… one of us is a robot… and unknowingly working for the one in charge?" He tried to think if anyone came to mind, anyone out of the ordinary… but nothing. No one seemed to give any hints as to being a robot in disguise.

Ai frowned as well as she looked around. "Well, whatever the case… this place seems to be some sort of hidden room."

Emiko nodded at that. "Perhaps we should keep this a secret?"

This caused Wally to look at her with shock. "What? But wasn't us not knowing everything- …"

He cut himself off as Emiko nodded. "Exactly. However… the same could be said in reverse. It was because of us not knowing about the vents that lead to our innocence. The less who know, the less we have to worry about it being used against us."

Wally was hesitant… but sighed as he nodded. "I… you're right. Still… we should probably leave this place before people get suspicious." The two nodded as the three left the hidden room.

Pressing the button on the remote, Ai would look at it as the climbing wall started to move downwards. She would then hand the remote to Wally and smile with a wink. "I'm trusting you with the key… for I shall find the next door to be opened by the Seamstress of the Stars! The stars shall guide me forth!" Wally would look at Ai and gain a grin as he pocketed the remote.

With that, the door to the hidden room closed and the door to the exercise room unlocked. Leaving the room however, the three would be hit with a bright flash of light as Conductorkuma stood there with a camera as Tenshizo covered his face with his ears and Akumahebi had a raised brow. "My my! What lewd riders we have! What steamy shenanigans have you gotten up to that needed the room to be locked, hmm~"

Wally and Emiko blushed at that as Ai gave a glare and a raised brow. "Why are you asking us? The door locked itself… couldn't you see what we were doing?"

Akumahebi shook her head. "Nope. Small oversight but this is the one room without cameras. So we have no clue what happened… so not only are you murderous bastards… you're horny bastards as well?" Ai just shook her head as she walked past. Akumahebi and Conductorkuma followed her as Wally and Emiko stood there, embarrassed. …At least they know there's no cameras in that room. …Which is strange.

Tenshizo moved his ears and looked at the remaining two with a sheepish look. "…N-Now… you are teenagers a-and if you need… I c-can give you the talk of the birds and the bees-"

Wally stood rigidly as he gave a giant smile to Tenshizo and Emiko. "WELL I'M TIRED! Goodnight you two!"

Emiko nodded rapidly at that. "You're right! It is fairly late! Time for bed!" And with that, the sidekick and ballet dancer rushed to their rooms.

…Tenshizo just stood there confused as he tilted his head. "…It's only 5pm though… Was it something I said?" The elephant pondered for a moment and shook it before smiling. "No. They're probably just very tired!"

"HEY FATASS! Hurry up!"

With that, the elephant quickly rushed after the bear and snake. "COMING!"

Waking up the next morning, (trying to forget those three mascots), Wally walked out his room and stretched as he tried to figure out what to do next. The remote rested firmly inside an inner pocket of his hoodie. However, he stopped and thought back to the information found in there. Combined with the lingering threat of the motive, Wally found himself in a swirl of uncertainty. Who could he trust? What should he do?

As he struggled to escape this overflowing uncertainty, he felt a hand on his shoulder as he turned around to see… Takeshi. "A-Are you alright Comrade?"

The sidekick flinched slightly before he stopped and sighed. "Well… I… … the motive is getting to me a bit."

Takeshi frowned at this and thought about it before he looked at Wally with a smile. "Well… why don't y-you vent to me?" Wally looked at him confused as Takeshi smiled. "I can help!"

Wally looked at the medic for a moment and motioned him into his room. Sitting on the sidekick's bed, Wally sighed. "…Do you ever feel like you're holding the weight of so much on your shoulders?" He looked for a moment. "…I'm trying to stay positive and keep my head up. But… I… I feel like my view on everything is challenged daily. I want to stay positive, but it just feels like I'm being crushed!" From the secret with the remote… from Shunso's promise… to the motive… it feels like he's stuck in a cycle of taking on more weight than he thinks he can handle.

However, as his mind spiralled into these thoughts, Takeshi spoke in a quiet voice. "…Every day on the battlefield." Stopping and turning to Takeshi, the medic continued. "I'm a combat medic… and… everyday it felt like the lives of my comrades rested in my hands. One mistake and it would be their last breath… It was hard." The combat medic gained a saddened expression. "It hurt to have to bury my comrades… my friends… on the battlefield. To say goodbye when part of me wishes I could have saved them. I still deal with the memories to this day. But…" He looked at Wally. "…It's through teamwork that we can face our problems comrade."

The sidekick looked at the medic as Takeshi continued. "Despite everything, I wasn't alone. Many checked on me and supported me. Even when I left the field, I had someone support me and help me get my life back on track. Of course… then I was recognized for my efforts… and given my talent." He then looked at his hand and gripped it into a fist as he held it out to Wally. "They may be gone or not here at this moment… and times may be tough now. But you're never alone. We're in this together."

Wally was silent as he thought about the medic's words… before grinning widely and returning the fist pump. "Yeah… we're in this together!"

The two friends smiled before Takeshi then looked at Wally with a serious expression. "Actually… I do need your help. …We have a friend we need to help."

At that, Wally grinned and nodded. "Alright then… let's do this." …As he left the room, with Takeshi following a few moments after.

Soon enough, Wally found himself standing next to Takeshi as they faced Koharu's door. "…So the friend we need to help out is Koharu?"

Takeshi nodded at that. "Yeah… I don't know if you noticed but… she's isolated herself since the motive came out." This shocked Wally a bit as despite her aggressive nature, she still was out and about.

However, slowly he the sidekick realized that the medic was right. He hadn't seen Koharu since the motive drop. So, gathering his courage, Wally knocked on the door as the two boys heard the door open slightly and a tired and annoyed voice through the small crack. "The fuck do you want?"

"Well… we were wondering if you're alright."

The door slowly opened as a disgruntled and exhausted looking Koharu glared at the duo. "Well I'm alright. So fuck off."

However, before she could close the door, Wally moved his left foot in the way… as it got crushed slightly. "OWOWOWOW! Why the same foot!?" First a piano and now a door… Thank God he's a hero themed off a bird instead of a rabbit.

Koharu opened the door again and looked at the two with a frustrated expression. "Seriously? Why can't you just leave me alone!?"

Wally and Takeshi blinked and took a step back as the sniper yelled at them before Takeshi spoke up. "W-Well… we're friends. So-"

This caused the sniper to groan and shake her head. "I still don't trust either of you." This caused the two to blink as she continued. "You may think that trust comes willy-nilly but that's bullshit." She sighed and looked at them. "Do I appreciate your worry? Yes. But do I trust you completely? No. Far from it." Deciding she needed to leave, she pushed past the two as she quickly left the dorm cart. Looking back for a second, they would see a fairly clean room despite everything with the door still open.

Wally sighed at this and looked at Takeshi. "…Want me to go on ahead?"

The medic smiled and nodded at this. "Yeah… that would probably be best. I'll close her door, so no one sneaks into her room. You go after her." With a nod and a thumbs up, the sidekick quickly left to follow the sniper.

It took some time, but Wally soon found himself in the carnival once more as he heard sounds of corks firing. Moving through the stalls, he soon found himself standing in front of a target range stall with a cork gun rifle and a statue of an archer on top. And proudly hitting bullseye on every single target as a jingle went off and a small container holding strange tipped arrows popped up from the stall.

Koharu would stop her shooting as she breathed heavily… as if she ran all the way here and then went hard on a shooting range- Oh wait. She did. Catching her breathe, she turned and noticed Wally standing there as she groaned and gave a tired glare. "…Seriously? You had to follow me as well?"

Wally nodded as he looked at the range. "…That was really impressive."

The sniper scoffed and smirked as she crossed her arms. "Of course. I may not look like it, but I gained my talent through blood, sweat and tears." Wally nodded as he looked over at her… before blinking and looking worried. "…I'll say! You're bleeding right now!"

Looking down, Koharu would see she had a nosebleed as she cursed and pulled out a tissue. "Shit… sorry."

Wally looked at worry as this caused the sniper to give him a heated glare. "Don't you dare look at me like that. I'm not some fucking fragile porcelain doll one misstep from breaking."

Wally held up his hands in a surrender pose as he shook his head. "It's not that! I'm just worried for a friend!"

This caused the girl's glare to lessen as she sighed and looked away. "…You really see me as a friend?"

Wally nodded with a small smile. "Yeah. I know we haven't talked all too much… but I see us as friends." This brought a small smile as the sniper moved past him and the now entering medic as she left the carnival. The medic would walk up to Wally with a look as Wally gave a small smile. "Well… it went better than before."

The medic nodded as Wally notice a slight pale in his tone as he placed a hand on his shoulder. "Hey… we're in this together, remember?"

This calmed the medic down as he smiled. "Right. We're in this together."

The two would then start to walk back towards the dorms as Takeshi smiled. "I'll keep trying to help Koharu however I can. Hopefully… some idea can work."

With that, the two said their goodbyes as Wally thought back to the motive once more. Despite keeping it in the back of his mind, he wasn't dumb. They've gone through nearly half the days or so now… meaning that the week would be reaching it's end soon.

He wasn't as nervous as before when it came to his aspect of it… be he slowly pondered… if the subtle push was going to affect someone. He was uncertain as he returned to his room. His thoughts were getting too heavy for now. Right now… he had to prepare as best as he could.

14/16 REMAINING

Hello everyone! Void here!

And another part under the belt! Though this one took a little more than the other recent parts, I'm excited to see how this goes.

I'm working on the murder and everything so this should go faster sooner or later… but considering real life, it could either be fast with my energy or slow due to other priorities. We'll see.

Also! There is a little less than two weeks to send in a character application for Rebels of Paradise. September 7th is the date! I hope to see incredible characters!

But… that's all for now! Until next time! See you all later!
