Chapter 27: Disgusting truth

It was 9:00 AM. Molly was in her room, changing the bandages on her arms. She was only thinking about Abigail. How did she become a skinwalker? Who turned her into one? And are there really other skinwalkers?

After she bandaged her hands up, Molly was ready to go out. A nice day outside. She could even call Hikari to meet. While she was planning what to do, Scratch woke up and flew from his dollhouse.

''Morning, Moll''

Molly quickly put on her purple sunglasses to cover her glowing eyes.

''G-Good morning, buddy!''

''You're not gonna believe it! So, Libby's mom now KNOWS I exist!'' Scratch said with a smile.

Molly was so shocked when he said this...

''I thought it was silly to set ghost traps, but I actually fell in one! She saw me, we talked, she promised not to tell anyone. I can't believe it! Finally, I don't have to turn invisible every time I go to Li-

''Great, but you do realize we're not seeing Libby anymore, right?'' Molly interrupted.

''More like you don't see her. I have no problems with Libs''

Molly was annoyed of Scratch. Even though he knew Libby talked bad about Molly, he still would continue to be friends with her? That was just evil...

''Fine... You'll regret it when she do the same to you. Anyway, I have some things to do... See you later'' Molly said, as she walked from the attic, downstairs and outside.

Scratch could see Molly's annoyance. He couldn't believe it she still was refusing to talk with Libby. Is it really that hard to talk over something so small?

Scratch was at Libby's place. Both John and Leah have already left, so he was alone with her.

''And she had the biggest smile on her face! I didn't know if I should be proud of her, or scared that she officially knows'' Libby explained.

''Honestly, even I wasn't sure. I know your mom is able to keep a secret, but it feels weird that so many people already know about me''

''No worries, she really won't tell anyone. So... How is Molly?''

Libby still cared about her. Even if Molly hates her, Libby still finds Molly close... Which was also breaking her heart, knowing Molly will never talk to her again.

''You know, going out with that japanese girl every single day. She barely sleeps, she's pulling up all-nighters like a vampire! I get it, it's summer vacation for her, but that still doesn't mean she can't get sleep!'' Scratch explained.

''That doesn't sound good. I also stay late, but still get some sleep... At least until those stupid agents don't decide to come...''

''Their ''routine checks'' DON'T A ROUTINE AT ALL! They come inside whenever they want! Sometimes in the middle of the night, they just come without a little shame for waking us up! Ugh, I can't stand them!''

''Do you even ask me how I feel? I can't go out anymore! If those guys see me, I'm dead... Even though officially I'm already dead. I don't even want to imagine what they do to all the ghosts they capture''

When Scratch said this, it got Libby thinking...

''Even I can't imagine... But I do wonder. They're here because of that phantom, right? Why? What are they gonna do with her?''

''All we know is that they experiment on every supernatural creature they hunt''

''But why? What are they trying to prove with their experiments? Come on, they have to use the results from their experiments for something!'' Libby said.

Even Scratch started to think over it. Let's say they experiment on ghosts... For what? They sure don't do it just to torture them, there has to be a reason they hunt them.

''Maybe they... Do it in the name of science?''

''Or maybe there's something deeper... You know, all the police knows about them is that their base is somewhere in the woods!'' Libby said.

Scratch didn't like where this conversation was going...

''S-So?''

''So, what if I go there and-

''NO! No way, Libs, that's not happening!'' Scratch interrupted.

''Oh, come on! That's probably the only way we can get rid of them! If I see their dirty secrets, we can expose them! And we'll see why they want this phantom so much'' Libby explained.

''You do realize they'll cook you up if they see you...''

''That's the fun part, they won't see me. I'll be quiet like... Like a ninja!'' Libby said, excited.

''No! Libby, that's both dangerous and stupid! Even a ghost wouldn't do something like that, let alone a kid!''

''Oh, please! It's not like I would sneak into a military base''

''Well, the O.A.S is a secret government organization, so YES! It is something like sneaking inside a military base!'' Scratch tried to explain.

''Oh, please. Please, Scratch... Let's at least check it out from the outside. To see how it looks, then we'll decide if we should do it or not. Pleaaaase, please, please, please!'' Libby begged on her knees.

There was no way they're trying this. A base of professional ghost hunters, who have no sympathy or mercy for both the dead and the living? No way! Just to settle her, Scratch was thinking to just find and take a look at their base.

''Fine... BUT ONLY A LOOK!''

''Yes!'' Libby jumped and hugged Scratch.

''And I swear, if you try to sneak up there without my permission, I'm telling your mom!'' Scratch warned, but he still hugged Libby back.

''Deal!''

Libby really wanted to do it. If they see the base and there's a way to sneak inside, she will try to convince Scratch to let her. The O.A.S sure are acting suspicious and she'll see what they hide.

Leah's lunch break was over. Because Tamara was hospitalized, Leah had to also cover her shift. It was really tiring and was draining the life out of her, but she had no choice.

3 O.A.S soldiers entered the eatery, scaring most of the customers away... And also scaring Leah. She got flashbacks of that night when they tortured her and Tamara. The main reason why Tamara was hospitalized...

''H-Hi... Welcome to ''Joy-Healers'', how can I help you?'' Leah asked with a fake and nervous smile.

''A routine check. For that, we'll also need your manager'' The agent explained.

Leah was confused why they also needed her boss, but she was too scared of them to ask. She just called Jessica and waited for her to come. In the meantime, 2 of the soldiers were looking around the place and used their radar on all the customers there.

''Alright, what's the matter?'' Jessica came.

They didn't even tried to explain why they are here... One of them just pointed the strange radar at Jessica... And the red light turned on.

''Hello? Are you weirdos gonna tell me why you're here, or what?'' Jessica asked, annoyed.

He pointed it again, just to make sure... The red light turned on again...

''You have to come with us, ms...''

''What? Why?''

''No questions asked. You ARE coming with us!'' The soldier said, as he took out handcuffs.

''Uhhh... Are you arresting me?''

''We can say it like that... Yes, we are!''

They just handcuffed her arms behind her back and dragged her outside... Everyone, including Leah was just watching in shock what was happening...

''WHAT THE HELL IS THIS ALL ABOUT?! I DIDN'T DO ANYTHING!'' Jessica was yelling.

''Yeah, yeah, we get that a lot...''

They didn't care or listen to her... They just arrested her without any explanation why...

''HEY! You can't just come in and arrest our boss!'' Leah ran to them.

They didn't answer... They continued to walk, while Jessica was trying to break free. Leah was just watching in shock. Those idiots were ruining Brighton, but no one could do anything. At this point, Leah had enough of those agents. Something has to be done...
