"It's Friday, and you're home!" Penelope said as she looked up into the eyes of her lover. Derek nodded and bent down to press a soft kiss to her lips before he sank down onto the corner of her desk, watching her work. "I just have about ten more minutes here before I can head out, so feel free to do something if you get bored."

He chuckled as he shook his head. "I could never get bored watching you, Baby Girl."

She arched an eyebrow at him as she let out a long breath. "That was supposed to be a hint, Derek. I don't do my best work when I have someone hovering over my shoulder staring at me. Go, talk to Reid, talk to Jayje, ask Hotch if he needs help with the reports. Just, give me ten minutes, and then we can head out."

"I hear you, PG." He stood and then bent to give her a quick kiss before leaving her office, closing the door quietly behind him. Once she was alone again, Penelope took a deep breath and powered through the last bits of her work that needed done before the weekend started. Finally, she pressed send on the last email that she had to return, and then she shut her systems down and packed up her purse. By the time she was out the door, Derek was looking up at her from Reid's desk. Giving him a small wave, she rushed over to the stairs and went down them as quickly as possible, wanting to spend time with her Boo.

"I am yours for the evening, Derek, if you're ready to head out."

He nodded as he wrapped his arm around her waist, pulling her close as he wrapped up his conversation with Reid. "I think the girls are gone for two hours on Saturdays, am I right?"

"It's about that long, yeah, with the drive time. Why? Planning on some guy time while we're becoming more limber?" she teased, elbowing Derek in the side gently.

"He and I were thinking that it would be good to bond, just like the four of you. Though it will be just the two of us, since Hotch needs to go home and spend time with Jack, and Rossi is, well, Rossi."

Penelope giggled at Reid's words, knowing exactly what he meant by that. "That's fair," she replied before looking up at Derek. "Now, I am wanting to spend as much time as I can with you tonight so that I don't feel guilty about heading out tomorrow night. Where are you taking me?"

"Our diner?" he asked, and she nodded, already starting to think about what she'd order, since they were there so often. "But first, I thought we'd go see that movie you were telling me about. I need something to lift my mood after that last case we were on. I'm glad that we were able to find the unsub, but I'm still so fucking mad that it took two more victims before we did."

Penelope gave him a little nod as she squeezed his waist. "It was a horrid case, yes. Which is why I'm looking forward to tonight." Smiling at Reid, Penelope began to lead Derek out to the elevators, giving JJ and Blake a little wave when she passed by their desks, knowing that she'd be able to catch up with them the next evening. On the ride down to the parking lot, she cuddled close to Derek, resting her head on his chest as she listened to him breathe, knowing that they'd talk when they could be certain they were alone.

The drive to the movie theatre was just as quiet, and Penelope used the time to scroll through her phone, responding to the emails and texts she'd received throughout the day before posting a quick picture of Derek on Instagram that she captioned with #DateNight #MeAndMyBoo. When she had caught up with everything, she looked up to see that Derek had just parked in a spot close to the door of the theatre and was looking at her patiently. "Are you finally ready to pull your nose out of your phone?" he said, giving her a wink, and she nodded with a sheepish smile.

"I've been working on not checking my phone while at work. It's been a bad habit that I need to break." Penelope smiled as she dropped her phone into her purse and climbed out of his truck. After he'd come to her side, she took hold of his hand and allowed him to lead her inside. While he bought the tickets, Penelope got in line for snacks, knowing that they'd both be happy with popcorn and soda, since they were heading out to eat afterwards.

"I'll go claim our seats," Derek said as he handed her a ticket.

"Make certain you get as close to the top and middle as you can," she replied and he gave her a small nod before pecking her cheek and heading to the left hand corridor. The line continued to move at a glacial pace, but she finally reached the front and placed their order, only having to wait a further seven minutes until she was able to claim their popcorn and sodas. Checking her ticket, she took note of what theatre they were in as she turned down the same corridor as Derek. She was glad that she only had to walk down to the second door on the right, and she entered to find that it wasn't nearly as full as she'd expected for a Friday evening.

Derek gave her a small wave from the second row from the top, and she nodded, climbing the stairs to get to him. He stood, allowing her to take a seat in the second chair before she handed him his soda. "They were so slow tonight!"

"You made it here before the previews started, that's all that matters," he whispered in her ear, and she nodded as she lifted the armrest between them so that she could cuddle in close to him. The lights went down moments later as the previews began to play. It was so easy to make herself comfortable with him, and she let out a little sigh. Derek must have heard her, since he draped his arm around her shoulders, pulling her closer to his chest as he grabbed a handful of popcorn, throwing it into his mouth. The effortless way that he did everything filled her with a sense of peace, and she turned her focus to the screen, watching the trailers halfheartedly as she allowed her thoughts to spool out on how great of a dad Derek would make.

"If only things were as easy for us as it is in the movies," she murmured, feeling him tighten his arm around her shoulders. That told her that he had overheard her, despite the loudness of the trailers, and she snuggled in closer to him, breathing in his aftershave as she sent up a prayer to heaven that tonight would be the night a miracle occurred. She didn't know which deity she was directing said prayer to, but she hoped that one out there was listening to her plea and would grant her fondest wish that evening. Even though she knew that she needed that miracle, she still trusted that the universe would make it happen, for her, or for one of her friends.
