Years after Part II, we cut to a boy in prison. He smirks to himself, tossing a piece of chocolate into his mouth. Golden, shining hair sparkles on his head. This is Will Zeppeli II. A spectral being akin to a samurai with a body comprised of bones stands in front of him.
"Really?" it asks, "Did you have to steal a motorcycle?"
"Obviously! How else was I gonna get a date?"
The samurai runs a horizantally-held hand down its face. "And how did that go for you?"
Will stands up again, "Alright, and since when was I supposed to know I needed to steal gas too, huh?"
"SINCE YOU LEARNED TO DRIVE A MOTORCYCLE!"
"Learned to drive?"
"I am going to slice you to pieces someday."
"Unfortunately, if you do so, you too will die."
"An acceptable consequence."
"Why couldn't I have gotten a normal, non-sentient Stand, like mom's?"
"Because the universe wanted to curse me on a personal scale."
"Fuck you, Berryberry Skull. You should kill yourself."
"I wish I could."
A voice rings out from the shadows.
"So, child, it seems your Stand is in disagreement with you. And Berryberry Skull, how're things going?"
Berryberry Skull looks over at the shadows. "So... it's you. Excellent."
Caesar, now an old man, alongside his daughter Lisa, steps out of the shadows.
"Will, I've payed your bail, but you'll be going with me for a while," he says.
"Cmon! I'll never get a date with you around!"
"Oh, your grandfather was quite popular back in the day," Lisa says, "at least... after your grandmother... that's not important."
Caesar turns to her. "You can say it, Lisa. She was murdered. By a vampire of the Stone Mask. All because I wasn't able to protect her."
"Father, you can't blame yourself for that!" she yells, "I couldn't beat that vampire either!"
"You were a child, I was a grown warrior. Your Hamon wasn't ready, that wasn't your fault. I should have had some guards with you."
"Are you two done talking yet?" Will groans, "I really don't like being in prison."
"Berryberry Skull, punch him on the head." Lisa says. The Stand gladly obliges.
"AGH! Fine, fine, I'll go with you, gramps!"
Days later, Jotaro walks into school, finding himself in a predicament. However, just before Kakyoin delivers his Emerald Splash, a blade intercepts it.
"Jotaro," Will says, grinning, "My name is William Zeppeli II, but you can call me Will. My grandpa sent me here to guard you, and that seems to be working out in your favor. Now, let's take out this villain together."
Berryberry Skull pulls Star Platinum to its feet, as Will does the same for Jotaro. Kakyoin laughs, a hand in front of his mouth.
"You know, you refer to me as a villain, and yet... the real villain is the one who loses. That is true justice."
As he fires off an Emerald Splash, Jotaro laughs, "So the loser is the evil one? In that case..."
Will joins in, "Then you must be pretty evil!"
"My Stand!"
"My Stand!"
"OUR STANDS WILL BE THE JUDGE!"
"ORA!" Star Platinum calls as it launches Hierophant Green into the roof, Berryberry Skull following with a downward slash and a call of "BAN!"
Soon after, Holly is found to have a Stand, which paralyzes her. In fifty days, she is doomed to die. Caesar looks on at her.
"Hmmm... I wonder, could I... NOW, SOFT AND WET!" His Stand appears before him, firing off a bubble in hopes of taking away her Stand. However, in a moment before her Stand is struck, it lashes out, destroying the bubble. Even as it kills her, it protects itself instinctively. The group set off for the airport, Caesar and Will now with them.
In the airplane, the Gray Fly attacks the group. Immediately, Soft and Wet forms a series of bubbles, which Caesar fills with Hamon, forming Bubble Cutters, which fill the interior of the plane, as Hierophant Green follows up by impaling the Stand. However, even with the Gray Fly dead, the plane is still doomed to fall.
Later on, the group lands in Hong Kong, where they meet a strange Frenchman who introduces himself as Jean Pierre Polnareff. Just as a sword appears in Joseph's soup, Berryberry Skull deflects it, Will leaping to his feet as the side of the bowl slices open, pouring hot soup onto the lap of the old man, who cries out, ironically angrier about this than he was about the sword. As Avdol stands up, Berryberry Skull gestures for him to sit down.
"Mohammed Avdol, worry not, I will end this fight."
"Berryberry Skull, I respect this decision. However, my name is Muhammad. With a 'U' and an 'A'."
Meanwhile, Polnareff is getting annoyed, and Chariot thrusts its blade forward at the samurai, who chops the blade with the side of its hand, a cut appearing on the hands of both it and Will.
"Damnit," Will snarls, "This guy's gonna be a tough one."
"Ahahaha!" Polnareff laughs, "Don't underestimate Silver Chariot. You were off your guard, and your hand paid the price."
Berryberry Skull takes a fighting stance, blocking each slice with the side of its arms, armor slowly being chipped away over and over again. Standing back, Silver Chariot tears away at it with a final strike aiming downward at the samurai's head. However, Berryberry Skull catches the blade at the cost of a third of its palms. As it yanks on the blade with one hand, it reaches for its own blade.
"IAI!" it yells, drawing and resheathing the katana one-handed as it tosses Chariot's rapier away. The armor crumbles from Chariot's body, as Polnareff's skin bleeds in various areas.
"Here is my full speed!" he laughs, "Chariot, let's go!"
It rushes toward the sword, as Skull rushes at Polnareff. Chariot quickly leaps in front of its user, but Berryberry Skull is ready, drawing a sword and making a flurry of blows, calling "BANBANBANBANBANBANBANBANBAN... BANZAI!"
It finishes up with a kick, launching the Stand, and the User, back into a wall, a window nearby shattering and raining down glass that cuts at the skin of Polnareff. Will walks over to him, kicking away some large pieces of glass in the way to arrive at Polnareff's location. He extends a hand to lift him up, as a bubble from Caesar pulls out the Flesh Bud from his head. Polnareff's eyes fill with tears. No one has truly shown him this level of kindness before.
Later, the Crusaders board a ship, off to Singapore. As they do so, Polnareff turns to Joseph.
"Mr. Joestar? Your left hand... might it be a right hand?" he asks, the bewildered Joseph showing his hand, mechanical, having lost it in a fight with Vampire Hitler long ago. Two girls approach Jotaro, but are frightened away by his glare, instead finding a conversational home with Polnareff and Will, the both of them changing on a dime.
On the ship, Jotaro, while saving a young stowaway, battles a shark, defeats it, and is attacked by something else beneath the water. As Kakyoin saves him, Caesar takes a glance, and is lost in thought. When the captain takes Jotaro's cigarette, Will immediately walks up to him.
"Oi, bastard, what are you doing?" he growls, a wind blowing through his hair, "You seem a little suspicious. Also..."
Berryberry Skull immediately rushes forward, a sword tearing through the air toward the sailor. Immediately, he calls out Dark Blue Moon, blocking the hit with the Stand's forearms.
"Ahaha!" the false Tenille calls, "You have identified my role in this charade. And what was your plan if I were not a Stand User?"
"I would have stopped," Will says, "You think I'm an idiot? Screw you."
Dark Blue moon attempts to grab the stowaway, but is stopped midair, Star Platinum's fist breaking its arm from the elbow.
"Yare yare daze..." Jotaro sighs, "We're gonna have one hell of a trip at this rate."
Dark Blue Moon attacks Star Platinum, but Berryberry Skull slices Impostor Tenille's head in half instantly. However, a few minutes later, the boat detonates, and the group struggles out onto lifeboats, coming across an abandoned ship. A sailor travelling with them is killed by one of the ship's hooks, and Kakyoin sends his stand off to search for a Stand User. Meanwhile, Will stands beside him, Berryberry Skull also moving through the ship.
"Whatever, man," he chuckles, "I'm gonna go look at the monkey. Polnareff, come with me." A few minutes later, he runs back out. "Shit! The monkey's gone!"
The group begin moving through the ship, and Berryberry Skull, who has been moving through the ship this whole time, encounters Forever in the hallway. It lunges at the orangutan, who punches at it, a fan moving through Berryberry Skull's arm.
"Only a Stand can harm a Stand, my dear, sweet, ape," comes a chuckle from the samurai, drawing a blade, "Now... BANBANBANBANBANBANBANBANBAN... BANZAI!"
Re-appearing at Will's side, the Stand whispers to him. "The Orangutan was the Stand User."
"WHOAH, AGH!" Will says, "DON'T SNEAK UP ON ME LIKE THAT! But, uh... did you win, though?"
"I've yet to lose."
The group, noticing the crumbling ship, hops onto their lifeboats, still having a group of sailors at their side. As they land in Singapore, a policeman walks up to Polnareff, and yells at him for littering, to which Polnareff replies with a quip about that just being his luggage. The policeman, embarassed, walks away. Following the disaster at sea, the group is forced to buy hotel rooms for not just every Crusader, but also the sailors themselves, and the stowaway. As Will and Polnareff enter their room, Polnareff turns to the fridge.
"You can come out now. I know you're in there," he says, as a man crawls out from it.
"Ebony Devil!" the man calls, before Skull and Chariot eviscerate his body in an instant. A small cut suddenly appears on Polnareff's leg, with Will suddenly whipping around to grab the puppet that placed it there, tossing it off of the balcony. However, it leaps back up, attacking them both, the two of their Stands rapidly tearing it apart.
Later, Joseph, Avdol, and Caesar stand alone in front of a television. Hermit Purple enters the machine, words slowly coming out of it.
"Among... us..."
"THERE! IT SAID "AMONG US"!"
"How suspicious..."
"There is... A... traitor"
"WHAT?"
"Shut up, Joseph!" Caesar hisses.
"Nori... Aki... Ka... kyoin... BEWARE... He is... Di... O... 's... AGENT!"
"DAMNIT!" Caesar yells, "I CANNOT BELIEVE THIS!"
"Eh?" comes a voice from the screen, Dio appearing on it, a dark figure behind him, "Joseph Joestar! Once again you have been watching me! Do not think anything escapes my vision."
Meanwhile, Kakyoin, out with Jotaro, Will, and the now-uninjured Polnareff, seemingly crushes a thief's skull. Will is annoyed.
"I never liked that Kakyoin guy anyway, we should leave him behind," he whispers to Polnareff.
When Kakyoin attempts to toss Jotaro over the edge of a balcony, Will immediately grabs him, slamming him into the ground.
"KAKYOIN, YOU BASTARD, WHAT ARE YOU DOING?!" he yells.
Berryberry Skull runs its hand down its face in frustration, whispering, "That isn't Kakyoin."
"WHAT?!"
"Kakyoin isn't that tall, and he doesn't act anything like that. This is one of Dio's agents."
"Ohohoho!" the false Kakyoin laughs, "You are correct, my friend. I am Rubber Soul, and this is Yellow Temperance!"
Quickly, a pile of goo wraps around Will's arm. Jotaro and Polnareff summon their Stands, quickly rushing toward the foe, ready to strike, but Rubber Soul wags his finger.
"No, no, no, none of that. My Yellow Temperance will crush his arm the moment one of you draws nearer."
This sends Polnareff into a panic, but Will turns his head. "Jotaro... do it."
Star Platinum instantly throws a stone at Rubber Soul, who catches it with Yellow Temperance. Meanwhile, he moves to crush Will's arm, but... it's gone!
"Hamon Breathing," Will explains, "It allows me to attract or repel liquids as I wish, amongst other factors. In fact, I'd like to show you something else. Berryberry Skull?"
The Stand tosses him its sword, which he uses to rush toward Rubber Soul. He calls back "WAIT, I'LL TELL YOU ANYTHING! THE MAN WHO KILLED YOUR FRIEND'S SISTER! HIS NAME IS J GEIL, HIS STAND IS A MIRROR!"
In the time it takes to say this, he has already wrapped his Stand around Will's leg. However, Skull slices the tendril apart, Will's sword attack dispelling the liquid around it to tear Soul's head in half.
Later, on the train, Kakyoin asks Jotaro for some cherries, which Will instantly takes.
"Take that, you bastard," he chuckles, before Jotaro backhands him in the face. Skull laughs at this.
Arriving in India, the group is met with many merchants and beggars. In the bathroom, a Stand in a window attempts to attack Polnareff. Polnareff sets off to hunt down J Geil, and is lectured by Avdol.
"Wait!" Will calls out, "I'll go with him!"
"Fine," Avdol calls, "I will allow this, Polnareff, but only if Will stays at your side at all times. Berryberry Skull, keep watch."
The samurai salutes him, nodding its head. However, Polnareff and Will soon come across Hol Horse.
"Well, now," Hol Horse chuckles, "Looks like someone done brought a sword to a gunfight."
As he shoots a bullet at Polnareff, Chariot intercepts the bullet, which curves out of the way, only for Avdol to leap in, intercepting it again. As the bullet curves back, Avdol is stabbed, and Skull cuts the bullet in half with an Iai slash. Avdol falls to his knees, Hol Horse firing another bullet, which Kakyoin blocks with an Emerald Splash. Hanged Man attacks Polnareff from within a mirror, but Polnareff cuts the mirror apart, Berryberry Skull attacking Hol Horse, who opens fire, only to be blocked by Avdol, while Kakyoin shoots all the glass shards out of the air. The group splits up, Avdol and Will forcing Hol Horse into an alleyway, as the others continously pressure Hanged Man. While the encounter with Hanged Man ends the same way as in the original, Avdol is able to consistently block Hol Horse's bullets, until Skull finally lands the hit that hospitalizes Hol Horse.
When Joseph heads to the hospital, Caesar goes with him. Before Empress can kill the doctor, Caesar intercepts the blade and kills the Stand with a Metal Silver Overdrive and a couple of Bubble Cutters. Will, who was standing with Polnareff, is also horrified by Nena's grotesque transformation.
When ZZ attempts to escape the rest stop in his car, Will attacks it, having thought of vandalism as his first option. He slashes the tires with his Stand, and Wheel of Fortune's true power is revealed, crashing into him. However, before it can do this, he leaps onto the top of the vehicle, Berryberry Skull crashing through the windshield and tossing ZZ out, as the car goes careening off a cliff. However, Kakyoin is able to save Will, whose thoughts on the red-haired fellow begin to change.
