"This will be your end… Yamamoto Shigekuni." It rained. The Soul Society was facing a great danger never seen before. Not in the last 1000 years. Even Aizen didn't pose such a great threat to the entire existence of the Soul Society and all that lived in general.
The head captain, Yamamoto Shigekuni, stood on the battlefield with a look that said he knew it would be over. He used up most of his strength, and his opponent was at full strength. He used his Bankai and lost most of his power because it taxed his reserves. He tried to use it again, but the emperor of the Quincy, Yhwach, stole it.
Yamamoto was a fair-skinned man of average height. The oldest captain in the Gotei 13, he has aged into an elderly man with a bald head, deep wrinkles, hooked nose, and pronounced cheekbones. He has red eyes, long eyebrows, a long mustache, and a hip-length white beard secured by a purple band crossing down it. He has many scars on his body, with the two most prominent being a pair of long scars crossing above his right eye, one of which was left by his battle with his lieutenant. He lost one arm against Aizen and had already sustained a bit of damage, and because of that, his shihakushō was a bit damaged.
In front of Yamamoto stood Yhwach with a Reishi broadsword held over his head. He was about to finish Yamamoto for good since he lost his will to fight in his final moment. It would be clear that the head captain would die now. There would be no other outcome to this situation. When he realized it was over, someone could see how Yamamoto loosened his grip on his zanpakutō.
Yhwach was a tall man with a long face, broad chin, and pronounced cheekbones. He had long black hair reaching his lower back and reddish-brown eyes with thin eyebrows. He had well-kept mutton chops and a connected mustache but was otherwise clean-shaven.
His usual attire was a white, double-breasted trench coat with the Wandenreich symbol in the middle, large, buttoned cuffs and lapels, white trousers, and trench boots. Over this, he wore a tattered, ankle-length maroon-black cloak with a red ribbon near the neck and fastened to the left with a single large button.
He was about to bring his Reishi broadsword down on Yamamoto and split the top half of his body, but something happened that got the attention of every person in the Seireitei. A massive explosion was heard, and the spirit barrier surrounding the Seireitei was destroyed in a single spot where a new Reiatsu signature came through.
Every Sternritter got wide eyes when they felt the new signature. They looked toward the sky and where the explosion came from. They all felt… this overwhelming reiatsu, rivaling that from Yamamoto Shigekuni and Yhwach himself.
Standing in the barracks of the fourth division, Retsu Unohana looked out of the window with wide eyes. She couldn't believe … this Reiatsu belonged to someone she once knew. Someone everyone thought died 1000 years ago in the last battle against the Quincy.
"That's impossible... but it's definitely him." Unohana got a little hope back that this entire situation could be turned around even when the odds were strongly against them. The person who just broke through the spirit barrier was a part of the original Gotei 13 with Retsu Unohana and Yamamoto Shigekuni. He was the first captain of the second division and founder of the Onmitsukidō (Stealth Unit).
Unohana appeared to be a slender, very youthful woman with blue eyes and black hair. She wore the standard Shinigami captain shihakushō, except she used an obi instead of the normal sash, which hides her well-endowed bosom. Her hair was long and always worn in a large braid down the front of her body.
"Captain Unohana, do you recognize this Reiatsu? I never felt it before, and it rivals the Reiatsu of the head captain!" Isane Kotetsu stood behind Retsu and asked her captain if she knew the newcomer. From her expression and reaction, it would only be logical.
Isane was a tall and well-endowed young-looking woman with gray eyes and short, messy silver hair with strands on the right side of her face that was shoulder-length and styled as two thin braids, with two more on the back of her head. She wore a thin, dangling red earring on each ear and a standard Shinigami shihakushō with her lieutenant badge on her left arm.
"Yes, Isane. I would recognize his Reiatsu every time I feel it. Our enemies have a problem now."
"Your Majesty!" Yhwach could hear the voice of his right hand, Jugram Haschwalth. Before he could look behind him, someone appeared between Yhwach and Yamamoto with drawn zanpakutō. Yhwach had to deflect a powerful blow from the newcomer and got pushed back. He slid over the ground and stopped beside Jugram.
Yamamoto looked at the back of a man he thought died 1000 years ago. An echo from the past, someone who rivaled him in strength, appeared before him out of nowhere as if the universe wanted to tell him it wasn't over yet. His time to die hadn't come, and he would need to keep fighting. His eyes got their focus back, and he raised himself into a proper standing position.
"It's been a thousand years, Moto." The man before him looked over his shoulder into Yamamoto's red eyes. This man in front of Yamamoto was the only one who dared to call him by this nickname. He was also the only one Yamamoto tolerated when calling him simply Moto instead of head captain or Yamamoto Shigekuni.
"Naruto Uzumaki," Yhwach remembered the man who stopped him from finally killing Yamamoto Shigekuni. A member of the original Gotei 13. He was a monster when it came to speed, raw strength, and his unique Kidō (Demon Way) spells, which he called Ninpō (Ninja Art). He was one of the deadliest and fastest members of the original Gotei 13.
Naruto Uzumaki appeared to be a man in his mid-thirties with short, spiky blond hair and blue eyes like the sky with six whiskers on his face. He wore a standard Shinigami shihakushō with a sleeveless captain's haori with the number 2 on the back with a white obi where he secured his zanpakutō on his left side.
Naruto's zanpakutō had an orange sword handle and hexagonal handguard. Naruto held his zanpakutō in his right hand at the moment.
"I didn't think I would ever see you again, Quincy emperor." Naruto's blue eyes were ice-cold, and around him raged a flaming reiatsu. When visible, his reiatsu took the form of raging flames, very similar to Yamamoto's reiatsu.
"I thought I would have killed you 1000 years ago." Yhwach killed Naruto 1000 years ago with the help of 5 of his comrades, even when he was the only survivor. It was a very fierce and close fight. Naruto almost managed to kill Yhwach when it wasn't for the sacrifice of 5 Sternritter.
Jagram had wide eyes when he saw Naruto and recognized him. He fought against the monster, who took the form of a shinigami. If they knew Naruto would still be alive, he would have been the 6th special war power. He would be number one of the special war powers. His abilities made it almost impossible to plan something against him.
"You sure have gotten yourself some unique tools for your invasion, Quincy Emperor." Out of nowhere, 20 or more perfect copies of Naruto appeared in a puff of smoke behind Naruto. Yamamoto never thought he would see these unique Kidō spells again. No one besides Naruto Uzumaki could use Ninpō. Only Naruto could use his self-created Kidō spells and create perfect copies of himself, which had the same strength and abilities, just not with his zanpakutō. He could clone himself but not his zanpakutō.
"I see; you still can create your Kage Bunshin (Shadow Clones), as you call them." Yhwach frowned a bit when the entire situation changed in a heartbeat. Everything planned was thrown out of the window when Naruto appeared on the battlefield. Naruto's clones vanished in a burst of Shunpo, making their way to others to help them.
"What's wrong, Quincy Emperor?" Naruto held his zanpakutō up and looked at Yhwach without blinking. "Is my appearing such a huge deal for your invasion?" Naruto looked behind him and saw Yamamoto's injured body.
"You go to Yashiru and get yourself patched up, Moto. I will deal with things on the battlefield; you did enough for now."
Yamamoto Shigekuni would never leave the battlefield when someone said something like this to him, but it was different when Naruto did it. He was there 1000 years ago and fought with Yamamoto side by side against the Quincy. Yamamoto knew he had lost most of his strength, and if Naruto hadn't shown up, he would have died by now.
"I will leave Yhwach to you, Naruto." Yamamoto turned around and vanished, leaving behind some flames on the ground.
"Let's get this over with, Quincy Emperor." Naruto's eyes had no emotions and were like those of Antarctica. Cold like ice without any form of mercy. The Shinigami, who was known for his speed, also called the yellow flash, made himself ready for the fight that would occur.
Yhwach frowned when he took a defensive step back, remembering all too well what the true form of Naruto's zanpakutō was. It was on the same level as Yamamoto's zanpakutō from pure strength. But there was a big difference when it came to Naruto's zanpakutō and Yamamoto's. Naruto never learned how to use Bankai since he despised the thought of subduing his partner. Naruto could only use his Shikai state, but that was more than enough.
Yhwach didn't want to think what Naruto's Bankai would be like. Naruto's Shikai was more than enough to deal with any enemy. His destructive power could destroy all his opponents. The sheer reiatsu it radiates was almost enough to obliterate everyone in its surroundings.
A flaming reiatsu once again surrounded Naruto's body. His blue eyes were focused on Yhwach. He never blinked since he appeared before the Quincy emperor. He was once a candidate for the head captain position beside Yamamoto. But since he became the leader of the Onmitsukidō, he chose not to become the successor of Yamamoto.
His grip around his sword tightened when his mouth opened. Yhwach prepared himself for what was about to come. The two words that stroke fear in Naruto's enemies. The two words that unleashed the true potential of Naruto's partner. The two words that would make a great change in a single moment.
"Scorch, Rengoku." When Naruto's mouth closed, fire exploded out of the ground all around the three remaining people in the destroyed place. The blade of Naruto's zanpakutō was engulfed in a raging inferno, setting the air itself around it on fire. The ground around Naruto began to melt from Naruto's immense reiatsu he radiated right now.
Naruto's mastery over his Shikai had no competition. Even when he never subdued his zanpakutō and thus didn't achieve Bankai, his Shikai was on the level of a Bankai without question. Everyone in the Seireitei felt the immense Reiatsu Naruto unleashed when he revealed the true nature of his partner, who had been at his side for over 1000 years.
Retsu stopped for a second on treating the head captain when she felt the reiatsu she hadn't felt for 1000 years. It only became stronger as far as she knew. It was clear that Naruto Uzumaki was stronger than 1000 years ago, even when everyone thought he already achieved the maximum he could achieve.
One reason why Aizen Sosuke did all the things he did was to surpass the limits that were set for everyone. The soul of a Shinigami had a limit where there was no further possible improvement.
For some, the limit was higher than for others. But everyone thought Naruto Uzumaki had reached his peak, his limit already 1000 years ago. It was clear now that wasn't the case. Yamamoto was sitting on a bed, looking out the window with a fixed expression. It's been 1000 years since he felt the reiatsu of the zanpakutō of his old friend and comrade.
He saw how the entire area turned into literal hell where Naruto, Yhwach, and Jugram were. It was similar to his own zanpakutō, but Naruto's Shikai was slightly more powerful than the Shikai of Yamamoto Shigekuni. Unlike Naruto, Yamamoto achieved his Bankai and used the last 1000 years to master it more instead of focusing solely on his Shikai. It was clear that Naruto's Shikai was stronger than Yamamoto's Shikai.
Even when both Shikai were almost identical, one thousand years ago, Yamamoto and Naruto were also called the two fire devils because of their zanpakutō. Both zanpakutō were almost identical when it came to ability, only slightly different in appearance and name.
Naruto stood there in the raging flames he unleashed when he activated the Shikai from his partner. His blue eyes were mirroring the red-yellow flames that raged around him and his two opponents.
"Shall we begin?"
(Author Note: This is only an idea for now. I haven't thought this through about how everything would change with Naruto in the picture. I just recently watched the Bleach TYBW anime again and thought about what would happen with Naruto in the picture. This was the first idea that came to my mind.
I will only continue to ponder how I would turn this idea into a full story if enough people want this to continue.
