In the last chapter, Star Butterfly talk to Sonic the Hedgehog about a rescue mission to save Meteora, while Eggman Nega reveal his new creation 'Mecha Star', a bulky robot that look like Star Butterfly. Sonic and Star in Adventure in Mewni 2

Chapter 13 - Solarian Base

Solarian Forest, New Mewni

At the edge of the Solarian Forest, we find to Solarian Warriors on lookout. One male warrior was marching back and forth while a female warrior just leaning back on a tree. There are ordered by Solaria to protect the entrance into the forest. Then the female warrior spotted something in the distance approaching them.

"Hey do you see something?" asked the male warrior as the female warrior squint her eyes to get a better look as the object in the distance gets slightly closer and answered "Huh... I can't tell but it looks like whatever it is... it's getting closer."

a few moments of silence fell as both warriors stare at the object getting closer and began to hear someone shouting. Finally the female warrior got a good look. It is Star Butterfly, Marco Diaz, Tom, and Knuckles riding on the back of two warnicorns (which is basically the unicorn versions of a war horse), while Tails, Pony Head, Dr. Eggman in his Egg Mobile and Rouge fly over them while Sonic and Shadow run beside the warnicorns and before the two warriors could do anything, Sonic and Shadow rushes up and knock out the two warriors as Star, Marco, Tom and Knuckles jump off of their warnicorns and they, Sonic and Shadow rushes into the forest followed by Tails and Dr. Eggman while Pony Head and Rouge fly over the forest beings the eyes in the sky for our heroes on the ground as they knock out any Solarian Warriors patrol and destroy any of Eggman Nega's robots on their way to the Solarian Base while avoiding traps and defenses along the way. They know that they can't sneak their way into the base, so our heroes will have to fight their way in.

Solarian Base, New Mewni

Meanwhile in the Solarian Base, alarms began to go off, red light began flashing and a computer voice repeats, "INTRUDER ALERT, INTRUDER ALERT, SOLARIAN FOREST PERIMETER HAS BEEN BREACHED!" all over the base forcing every Solarian Warrior and Eggman Nega's robots to rush all over the base. At the command center, we find Solaria walked into the room and towards one of Eggman Nega's Egg Pawns that is sitting in front of a computer keyboard to see what's happening.

"WHAT'S GOING ON?!" yelled Solaria as the Egg Pawn replied as it types on the keyboard, "It's Sonic ma'am. He, Star Butterfly and a few of their friends has breached our forest perimeter and are heading towards us as we speak." then the Egg Pawn pointed at the large screen on the wall which show a blue map of the Solarian Forest with red dots which marks our heroes' movements in the forest getting closer to the Solarian Base.

"WELL WHAT YOU ARE WAITING FOR SENT ANY PATROL WE HAVE OUT THERE TO INTERCEPT THOSE INTRUDERS AND HAVE THE BASE ON FULL ALERT!?"

"Yes ma'am!" replied the Egg Pawn as Solaria stormed out of the room. Then the Egg Pawn contacted all the patrols in the Solarian Forest and said, "Attention all robot and warrior patrols, our perimeter has been breached, be on a look out for Sonic the Hedgehog, Star Butterfly, and their friends. Stop them from reaching the Solarian Base, PRIORITY ONE!"

Deep in the Solarian Forest, New Mewni

Back to the Solarian Forest. Our heroes already halfway through the forest and getting closer to the Solarian Base defeating any Solarian Warriors and Eggman Nega robots that stand in their way. Finally our heroes, and Dr. Eggman reach a clearing to see a massive, medieval castle like fortress built into a large mountain. The castle like fortress is armed to the teeth with laser-based cannons and defenses with those cannons remind Sonic and his friends of Dr. Eggman's giant fleet of airships called the Egg Fleet. Our heroes stares at the fortress in shock as they realized they reach their destination.

"So this is the Solarian Base, their main base of operations and I guess that's the entrance?" said Star, as she pointed at the giant metal door with the Solarian Warriors' red lightning bolt symbol on it. That's when our heroes notice the giant door opened up to set a large group of Solarian Warriors and Eggman Nega's robots rush out and the cannon turrets began moving and arming at our heroes. It didn't take them long to realize what's going to happen next and Tails shouted.

"TAKE COVER!"

Suddenly the cannons began to fire laser projectiles and cannon shells at our heroes who managed to find cover behind large boulders while Sonic and Shadow use their speed to avoid getting hit and knock out Solarian Warriors and Eggman Nega's robots make the warriors and robots focus on the hedgehogs, giving Star, Marco, Tom, Dr. Eggman and Tails to focus on a way to get pass the base defenses.

"HOW ON MOBIUS COULD WE GET PASS, LET ALONG DESTROY THOSE CANNONS! THEY'RE ON TOP OF THOSE TOWERS AND WE'RE PINED DOWN HERE!" shouted Knuckles as explosions from laser projectiles and cannon shells can be heard from behind their cover. Then Dr. Eggman taking cover in his Egg Mobile lean towards Tails and spoke up. "I got a idea, but I need Pony Head and Rouge to distract those cannons for my plan to work."

Star, Tails, and Marco didn't trust Dr. Eggman with a plan. But if his plan can destroy or at least let them get pass those cannons, they'll have to trust the mad scientist for now.

"Ok." said Tails, as he pulls out his communicator to contact Rouge, who she and Pony Head watch the battle from in the sky and asked her if she and Pony Head can distract those cannons who which she told him that they could do it.

"Hey party head." said Rouge as she flew beside Pony Head who still thin it feels weird to talk to a fly, living, unicorn head. "Care to help me out in keeping those cannons off our friends' backs?"

"OH YOU BET SPY BAT! I BEEN DYING TO GIVE THOSE SOLARIANS A PIECE OF MY MIND HAHAHA! LET'S DO THIS!" answered Pony Head. Then both Rouge and Pony Head began to fly around the cannons forcing the cannons' targeting system to focus on Rouge and Pony Head. Back on the ground, now with the cannons no longer shooting that them, he pulls out a small egg-shaped device.

"What is that?" asked Tails to which Dr. Eggman replied, "A little prototype I been working on after my first visit to this planet. BEHOLD THE 'HANDHELD DIMENSIONAL TELEPORTER EGG' or the 'Portal Egg'." then Dr. Eggman twist the metal of the Portal Egg and then he threw it over the boulder. The Portal Egg landed with a loud metal thud. Then just seconds later, the top of the Portal Egg opened and shot two blue energy beam which drew a giant circle midair over the Portal Egg and a portal open. Then a large army of Dr. Eggman's own robots pour out of the portal and join the battle.

"I got the idea from Tails' M.E.D.E.L device. my prototype can create portals so I can send my armies anywhere. It will save me a lot of time deploying my robots." said Dr. Eggman as he pushes a button in his Egg Mobile to communicate with his Buzz Bombers and order them to open fire at the cannons while the rest of his robots focus on the Solarian Warriors and Eggman Nega's robots.

"Before we come to this planet, I have Orbot and Cubot to have my robot army on stand-by back on Mobius and waiting for me to open a portal to bring them here."

"So wait, you have this egg-shaped portal device to bring your army to here to New Mewni... HOW COME YOU DIDN'T TELL US THIS BEFORE!?" shouted Marco to which Dr. Eggman replied, "Well I was waiting for the right moment to use it, plus this Portal Egg is a prototype so I wasn't sure it could actually work right."

"CAN WE TALK ABOUT THIS LATER!" shouted Sonic as he appeared beside Star as they can hear a cannon tower exploded after a large group of Eggman's Buzz Bombers cause enough damage to it. "Right now we got an opening thanks to Eggman's robots, so let's take advantage of this chaos and break our way into the base."

"He's right, let get going and save the day." said Tom to which the rest of our heroes agreed, and began to rush towards the base's main doors while the Solarians, Eggman Nega's robots and the base outer defenses were focus on Dr. Eggman's robots with Rouge and Pony Head joining our heroes. When our heroes reach the giant metal doors, the noticed that it was closed, and they couldn't find a way to open it. Sonic, Knuckles, and Rouge were about to use their heavier attacks on the door to make it open, but Tails pointed out that the doors are heavily reinforce which means they can even make a dent on the door.

"Is it heat resistant?" asked Tom to which Tails replied after analyzing the door. "I think so, if we could make it heat it up enough, we could melt a hole into the door, but where are we-"

"Stand back everyone, I got this." cut in Tom, the raise his arms and shoot out two giant pillars of concentrated fire at the door from his arms and focus is powers to quickly heat up the door to its melting point to create a hole into the door.

"You're welcome." said Tom as he finished melting a hole into the base, stopped shooting fire and lower his arms as everyone (mostly Sonic and his friends) stare in shock from what they just saw. Then Sonic give Tom a thumbs up and said to him, "Now that's quick thinking, great work Tom." then our heroes went inside the Solarian Base and began making their way to find Meteora and stop Mina, Solaria, and Eggman Nega.

Command Center, Solarian Base, New Mewni

"No way, I can't believe this!" yelled Eggman Nega as he, Solaria and Mina was on the monitors on the wall in the command center, they just witness our heroes get into the base and making their way through the base. No doubt searching for Meteora, their two Chaos Emeralds and their remaining Master Emerald shards.

Eggman Nega was surprised that his counterpart Dr. Eggman would have some way to bring his own robot army, but he didn't expect this. They continue to view the monitor to see our heroes' progress dodging traps and getting through Solarian and robot defenses. But Eggman Nega noticed that our heroes are heading towards the first major line of defense, the room where Mecha Star, the robot version of Star Butterfly is placed in. Which means that our heroes are getting closer to the Egg Gloomfly chamber which Meteora is also placed in.

"Excellent, those fools are heading toward Mecha Star, this is perfect." said Eggman Nega with an excited, yet evil expression on his face. But Solaria spoke up.

"You really think this 'Mecha Star' could stop them after your robots FAILED to aid my Solarians in taking Echo Creek." after the Solarian Warriors retreated in defeat from Echo Creek, Solaria began to question this alliance with Eggman Nega. She is also secretly beginning to question herself after her strange encounter with a ghost that look exactly like her back at Echo Creek Park but didn't too much thought on it because she can't tell what she saw was real or made up. Plus those words, the words that Star said at the park, about Mina losing her mind, at first she didn't believe in the words of a traitor, but thinking about Mina's behavior from the last month since she woke up from her 'coma', Mina has been acting strange and some time she could say something which Solaria couldn't make sense of. She's starting to see that there are more to this than meets the eye. Then Eggman Nega's voice snap her back to the current situation.

"I can assure you that Mecha Star can defeats those intruders, Mecha Star is based on Star Butterfly's abilities with the robot design based on Mecha Sonic mk.1, Mecha Star may not look like it, but it can put up a fight. But I won't stop you from preparing to face them if the unlikely event that Mecha Star could be defeated, after all you still have a score to settle with Star Butterfly and retake your wand from her. If anyone need me, Mina and I would be waiting at the Egg Gloomfly chamber preparing for the final showdown."

Then Eggman Nega and Mina Loveberry walked towards the command center door and towards the Egg Gloomfly chamber, leaving a concern Solaria Butterfly in the room as she turns back to the monitors and watch Star Butterfly one more time before leaving.

Elsewhere in the Solarian Base

We find Star, Sonic and their friends entering a empty hallway after a few long minutes of fighting their way through Solarian Warriors and Eggman Nega's robots and dodging traps.

"OK, does every one of Dr. Eggman bases is design like a video game level with all the traps, floating, moving platform and all?" ask Tom as he and everyone take a quick break of running, fighting and dodging as Marco replied to Tom. "Almost everywhere on Mobius is either naturally or artificial look like something from a video game level, including some of their highways. But the traps however, I really don't know. Hey... why are there no warriors or robots chasing after us?" Marco noticed that the Solarians and robots stopped chasing as he looks out of the hallway to find no Solarians and robots in sight. Which make our heroes believe that what at the other end of the hallway they're currently in, leads to a major trap of some kind.

"Well that weakling called Manfred said this hallway leads to the one of two chambers that leads to the main central chamber which Egg Gloomfly and possibly Meteora in located." said Shadow who managed to learn about the Solarian Base from his interrogation from both Manfred and Fang back in the Monster Temple. Then Sonic spoke up.

"Two chambers that could hold two bosses before the main chamber where the final boss is in. I guess we're on the right path."

"Well either this hallway leads to a trap or not, this leads to Meteora and Mina. Let's go." said Star, then our heroes slowing walk down the straight, metallic hallway. It didn't take them long for our heroes to reach a large rectangle room, they can see the orange-brownish wall which remind Sonic of when he first board Dr. Eggman's massive orbital space fortress, the Death Egg. Suddenly as Sonic, Star and Tails entered the room, a hidden metallic door slide down, cutting them off from the rest of their team, as Tom, Knuckles, and Marco try to see through the door's small rectangle window as Star, Sonic, and Tails noticed the exit at the other end of the room closed too.

"Star, Star are you ok?" asked Marco shouting through the door to which Star replied, "We're fine." Then they heard two small rockets from the coming down from the above them and what they saw is a bulky robot of Star Butterfly hover down and landed in front of Star, Sonic, and Tails with its glowing, orange, robot eyes staring that them.
