"Honey, why you calling me so late? It's kinda hard to talk right now. Honey, why you crying, is everything okay? I gotta whisper 'cause I can't be too loud."

It had been exactly five years since BTS made a successful comeback in 2025. After fulfilling all of their military obligations, the group jumped back to work since they didn't want to keep the ARMYs waiting. They went on tours, filmed tons of new contents on Run BTS, and appeared on screen at every chance. They made sure that the two-year wait of their fans was worth it. That's how much BTS loves their fandom.

A lot of things have changed, though. Yes, they still performed as a group, but they were no longer contractually bound. When 2027 hit and their contract with BigHit came to an end, all of them decided that they no longer wanted to renew it. It wasn't an easy decision to make, but it was a decision that had to be made. Contrary to what the media had speculated, none of them had signed with any labels. Truth be told, they never found any reason to since they already have BigHit. They are all major stockholders in that company so they can pretty much choose to release a song under it or make their label if they want to. They both had financial and creative freedom, which most artists under a label don't have. People can say a lot of bad things about Bang PD, but he damn made sure that these boys had a safety net, with or without him.

The transition wasn't easy. All went from working together 24/7 to working once or twice a month. Nowadays, they have to do things alone 90% of the time since they've all ventured into different things. Yoongi and Namjoon focused more on producing and are now accepting other artists. Hoseok and Jimin opened a dance studio that offered both contemporary and hip-hop classes. Taehyung dabbled into modeling due to insistent brand demands but soon got tired of it and decided to pursue photography instead. Jin, after declining countless movie and K-drama roles, had finally given in and tried the silver screen, and without an agent, of course. And finally, Jungkook, the Golden Maknae. He is the only one who didn't deviate from their path and stuck with singing. He was still rocking every single stage like he owned it.

They went on different paths and led different lives, but their bond didn't change a bit. They were like a rainbow. They're beautiful individually, but together, they are magical.

"Are you sure you don't want to join me?"

Jungkook stopped playing his guitar and turned his head to the side, "You go on ahead. I still need to finish this or Yoongi-Hyung will go crazy," he replied with an apologetic smile.

Hanna folded her arms on top of her chest as she leaned on the doorframe, "Are you still stuck in that verse?"

He adjusted the guitar on his lap before swinging his chair to face his fiancé, "Yeah, it sucks."

"What do artist like you say?" she paused, "You need like an inspiration or something, but I can't remember that exact word."

"Muse?"

"Aha! Yeah, that's it!"

He relaxed back on his chair and started to ponder on her words. She was definitely right, he needed a muse, or this song won't be able to make the cut. He sighed. Writing songs has never been this painstakingly hard for him, especially in his younger years. He could still vividly remember how he was able to write Beginin one sitting and Still into You in the middle of filming. It was that easy for him. He sighed again.

"I think I should leave you to it."

His eyes snapped back to the woman standing right in front of him, almost forgetting that she was there, "Err, yeah, sorry."

She let her arms fall to her side as she pulled away from her perch. She smiled at him kindly before turning around and gently closing the door behind her.

"You're one hell of a fiancé, Jeon Jungkook," he muttered to himself.

Vibrate - Vibrate - Vibrate

"Hello?" Jungkook said without even checking the screen of his phone. "Hello?" he repeated. He pulled the phone away from his ear to check who was calling, but his brows furrowed when he noticed that the caller blocked his number. "Fucking Sasaengs," he thought. He was about to click the end call button when he heard a faint sound. He instantly snapped the phone back to his ear, "Who the-"

"Jungkook-ah."

A sucker punch to the gut. That is exactly how he would describe it. It had been exactly one year, six months, and three days since he last heard that familiar voice.

"Are you there?"

He placed his hand on his chest as if putting It there would help slow down his heart which seemed to be working overtime, "Hey," he managed to choke out.

"I didn't mean to call this late. Am I disturbing you?"

He instantly shot up from his chair, almost making it topple over, and hastily walked towards the door. "No, it's okay," he responded as he locked it.

"Good, good."

He licked his lips, clearly not knowing what else to say. After a few seconds of dead silence, he cleared his throat, "This is a surprise. You never call. Did something happen? Are you okay?"

"Yes-yes, everything is fine. I didn't call because I didn't think you wanted to hear from me, you know?"

"Why do you think that?"

"Because of the...err, situation, I guess."

"Situation?" he asked.

"Yeah..."

The emotions that Jungkook had kept tightly sealed for over a decade were making its presence known and it's making him see red. He clenched his right hand tightly, the same hand that bore the other man's initial on his ring finger, "A situation that we wouldn't be in if you fought for me as I fought for you, Jin," he whispered, hurt seeping through his every word. He felt his eyes heating up, making him internally curse. "Why did you really call me?"

"Is...is she there with you?" Jin asked.

"Yes."

Jin sighed.
