'Oh damn…' Roxy muttered, staring at Gardenia. Or rather, at the huge jungle, through which she could see glimpses of buildings and roads. 'What the hell?'

'Looks like Diana reclaimed Gardenia for nature,' Bloom muttered, poking at a tree with her foot. 'This is bad.'

'No kidding.' Roxy winced as people stampeded the streets in blind panic. 'Well, at least we can count on people to be calm and sensible in a crisis.' One guy ran past screaming 'The end is nigh!', and she facepalmed. 'Oh you gotta be kidding me.'

'Well at least it can't get-' Roxy dove and clapped a hand over Stella's mouth.

'Don't you dare! You should never say at least it can't get - that thing thing you were gonna say. It can always get worse.' Everyone stared as a tree that had sprouted through a bakery suddenly mutated into a huge plant monster, gnashing its teeth at the panicking civilians. 'You see?! It got worse!' The monster threw a car, narrowly missing a group of panicked civilians. 'Oh f*ing hell. Enchanted Cloak!' The car bounced off the shield, and Aisha stepped in, catching it with her magic.

'Morphix Tidal Wave!' She hurled the car into the monster, and the vehicle exploded, taking out the creature in a burst of ash and fire. 'Phew! That was close.' Another tree mutated, and Roxy screamed into her hands. Seriously? Diana had tree-monsters? She'd never thought she'd miss fighting the wizards…

'Wolf Talon!' The tree fell down, and Flora flew over, landing just in front of it.

'Breath of the World!' The tree flashed with green light, returning to its original form. Thank God they had Flora. What would they do without her nature powers? Ooh, don't pull on that thread.

'Okay, nobody panic,' Bloom ordered, taking charge of the situation.

'What do we doooooo?' Stella demanded, ignoring Bloom's instructions completely. 'Gardenia's a jungle! This is a disaster!'

'Stella, chill!' Roxy ordered. 'I'm getting you confused with that guy.' She jerked a thumb at the 'the end is nigh' guy from earlier, and Stella shut up. Thank God. 'To repeat Stella's question in a less shrieky way, what do we do?' Bloom frowned, starting to pace in the way Roxy had come to learn meant the Fairy of the Dragon Flame was thinking of a plan.

'We need to find Diana; she's the only one who can undo this.'

'Well that should be easy; shall we just call her and ask where she is? I'm sure she'll tell us, since she likes us so much,' Stella deadpanned, and Musa did everyone a favour and put her hand over Stella's mouth.

'I agree we need to find Diana, but what about the people?' Roxy asked. 'We can't just leave everyone in this chaos!' A car fell out of a tree behind her, emphasising her point.

'Roxy's right. We need somewhere for everyone to stay safe while we look for Diana,' Tecna agreed. 'Somewhere indoors, with plenty of space…'

'Mm! Mm!' Stella's hand shot up, and she shook Musa's hand off her mouth. 'I know! I know! The mall!' Everyone stared at her for a minute.

'Stella, despite what you may think, 'the mall' is not the answer to everything,' Musa snapped, but Tecna held up a hand.

'Actually…' Musa gawped at her.

'You gotta be kidding me. The mall? Stella answering 'the mall' to every question actually paid off?!' Stella fist-pumped.

'Finally! I knew it'd be the answer to something!' Musa folded her arms.

'Oh my God.' Roxy turned her attention to Tecna, who was staring at detailed schematics for the Gardenia Mall. Lord knew where she'd got those.

'The mall will work. We can get everyone safe in there, then head out to find Diana.' Bloom nodded.

'Alright then. If everyone's in the same place, we can keep them safe from the plants. We need to get everyone to the mall. Roxy, go get your dad. Everyone else, spread out! Let's move it, people!'

'So this is what being a guardian fairy looks like,' Roxy deadpanned, poking at an overturned cardboard cutout of some model telling her that if she used some environmentally-unfriendly skincare lotion, she'd become rich, successful and all her problems would be solved. Ha. Nice try, skin lotion.

They'd successfully got everyone holed up in the mall, and with the help of some Believix magic, everyone had calmed down just enough to start complaining. Which was getting really old, really fast.

'Y'know, I always thought being in a mall would calm me down during a crisis,' Stella sniffled, staring at a shattered display of perfume bottles. 'But…this is tragic.' Roxy rolled her eyes and bit back a sarcastic response. Yeah, Stell. That's our big worry. Some broken bottles.

'I think that's everyone,' Tecna announced. 'I'm not picking up any more human heat signatures anywhere in Gardenia.'

'Tecna…?' Roxy began nervously. 'Do you have the ability to scan all of Gardenia for heat signatures?'

'Yes, what's your point?' Tecna asked, not glancing up from her computer, which she'd set up at an abandoned beauty counter.

'…Nothing.' Roxy walked over to join the others where they were convened around Tecna's screen. 'So, what's the plan?'

'We have to find Diana and make her stop this,' Bloom said firmly.

'That's a great plan, Bloom. Quick question: how the heck are we gonna find Diana?' Musa demanded. 'Flora says she's still in this area, but as we all remember from the last time we had to search the whole damn city, Gardenia's pretty big!'

'Then I guess we better get looking,' Bloom replied optimistically. 'We'll split up to cover more ground. Sky, Nabu, Flora and Roxy, you come with me, Musa, Stella, Timmy, Helia, you guys go together, Aisha, Tecna, Brandon and Riven, you guys stay here and make sure everyone stays safe.' Roxy noticed Musa breathe a small sigh of relief as she heard her and Riven were on different teams, and Roxy silently thanked Bloom; things were stressful enough without yet more Musa and Riven drama. Though they'd been broken up for over a month, and had largely not been speaking, it was fairly evident that Riven wanted Musa back, and his every attempt to demonstrate that had ended…well, badly. At least I'll get through the day without having to hear them snipe at each other. I mean, I might get eaten by giant carnivorous plants, but let's focus on the positives.

'Dad?' she called, wandering down into the mall. She wanted to say goodbye to her dad before she went to find Diana. Lord knew today had been stressful enough for him without her just up and vanishing to fight a Major Fairy.

'Roxy!' She laughed as her dad swept her up into a bear hug.

'Dad, Dad, I'm okay. Everything's fine.' Her dad frowned, pulling back to look at her.

'Roxy, all of Gardenia is hiding in the mall because some crazy fairy is trying to turn the city into a jungle. Name one way in which everything is fine.' Roxy winced.

'Okay, everything's not-quite-apocalyptic. Is that better?' Her dad rolled his eyes.

'No, not really, Butterfly.' He ruffled her hair, staring down at her with worry. 'You know I wish you could just stay here. Let someone else handle this.' Roxy nodded.

'Yeah. I know. But people are in danger, and I have the power to do something about it. I can't just sit around and do nothing. That's not how you raised me.' Her dad sighed, rubbing his forehead.

'Damn my quality parenting.' Roxy laughed, lifting herself onto tiptoes to press a quick kiss on her dad's forehead.

'I'll be back soon, I promise. We'll stop Diana. We'll save Gardenia. And we'll be back to normal in no time.' She pulled back, smiling as she transformed. 'Believix!' Her dad stared at her as she fluttered in the air in front of him, light spilling from her sparkling wings.

'Normal, huh? Think we might need to redefine that.'

Roxy gazed around in awe at what had been Gardenia's financial district, now a rich jungle filled with dark green vines, strong, towering trees and flowers blooming in a breathtaking kaleidoscope of colours. If the forest weren't covering her home, Roxy would have thought it beautiful. Even with the terrible circumstances that had brought it upon the city, she had to fight a twinge of guilt at the idea of killing all of this.

'Wow…' Sky breathed, staring up at a tree towering over a skyscraper. 'I can't believe Diana did all this.'

'She's really powerful,' Bloom muttered, stroking the leaves of a vine wrapped around an ATM. 'We're going to have our work cut out for us stopping her.'

'Maybe we won't have to,' Flora offered. 'Maybe we can just talk to her. Convince her to stop this.' Roxy bit her lip. She appreciated Flora seeing the best in people - she tried to do that herself - but Diana wanted all of humanity off Earth. Could they talk her down from that? On the other hand, she found herself drifting back to when she'd woken up on the smugglers' ship, caged and bound in the hold with Gantlos. She'd thought he was soulless and cold, a villain as straightforward as the villain in a fairytale. But he'd been so different… She could still remember hearing his voice crack as he'd feared that he'd never see Duman again. If she could see such a different side to Gantlos, if such a side had existed in him, then maybe Flora was right. Maybe such a side could exist in Diana. Maybe they could resolve this peacefully. Or they could just have a massive fight. One or the other.

'She's close,' Flora murmured as they started up a hill in Gardenia Park. Roxy whipped around.

'What? Where?' Flora bit her lip.

'I…I'm not sure. I'm sorry, I'm trying…'

'And you're doing really well,' Bloom assured her. 'We'd already have been screwed about six times without you.' Flora still looked upset that she couldn't pinpoint Diana's location, but she nodded and continued up the hill.

'Flora, wait!' Sky called. 'If Diana's close, we might need to get ready for an ambush. In that case, we shouldn't head up the hill; we don't want her to see us.' Flora frowned.

'Sky…'

'Flora, trust me; I have three years of Specialist training.'

'Oh…' Flora sagged. 'Well, okay then.' Roxy frowned. Sure, Sky had all that training, but Flora was the Fairy of Nature. And it sounded like she had something to say. So why wasn't she saying it?

'We want to stay under tree cover until we find Diana,' Sky explained. As he continued his plan for an ambush, Flora appeared more and more concerned, even attempting to interject a few times, but her polite murmurings appeared to not even be heard.

'Sky…' Roxy had had enough.

'Hey!' She let out a sharp whistle, cutting Sky off mid-word. Everyone stared at her, but she just gestured to Flora. 'Floor's yours.' Flora bit her lip.

'Oh…Roxy, Sky's the-'

'Specialist, uh-huh. Yep, yep, got it. You've got something to say, so say it. Just like to remind you that we're fighting for the fate of Gardenia, so now's not really the time for politely holding back.' Flora winced.

'Alright. Um…we don't want to head for trees. Diana has a connection to all nature, so she'll sense us there.' Roxy internally facepalmed. That was worth interrupting Sky for, Flora! Even if he has training! Sky nodded slowly.

'Huh. Sorry, Flora.'

'You didn't know.' Yeah, because you didn't say. Roxy loved Flora, but the girl acted way too timid for a fairy that could wield all of nature. She was undeniably the second-most powerful Winx, and Bloom only beat her because she wielded the power that created a dimension. And now that they were facing another fairy of nature, Flora needed to find her voice and start using it to scream. Or just, y'know, talk at an appropriate volume. Roxy wasn't above a good, cathartic scream, but it didn't really seem Flora's speed, so probably just a firm tone would be best for the Fairy of Nature. (Screw you, Diana, Flora's Fairy of Nature.)

'Okay, well then, what's the plan, Flora?' Roxy asked. Flora just stared at her for a moment.

'Oh, that's not my area of expertise…' Roxy waved a hand. They didn't have time for this.

'You know the most about what we'll be dealing with; you make the plan.' Flora looked a bit like a deer in headlights, but she shook her head and took a deep breath.

'Okay… Well, if we get too close, she'll probably sense us coming…'

'So there's no way to make this a surprise attack?' Bloom asked.

'Well…no… She'll sense us through nature.' She gestured to the grass on either side of the path they were standing on. 'If we avoid touching nature, she won't sense us.' Bloom smirked.

'Got it. Keep off the grass.' Sky folded his arms.

'That works great for you guys with your wings, but, just want to point out, those paths don't cover the whole park, and Nabu and I can't fly.'

'Well…' Nabu interjected awkwardly. 'Technically, I have a levitation spell.' Sky rolled his eyes.

'Of course you do. So I'm the only one who can't fly? And how come we haven't seen that spell before?'

'Observe.' Nabu sat down and crossed his legs, placing his hands on his knees. A purple glow spread over him, and he floated two feet into the air. 'Not very effective in battle.'

'Still means I'm what? Playing 'the grass is lava'?' Sky demanded.

'Uh, Sky?' Bloom cleared her throat. 'Dragon Wing.' Sky floated up a few feet, enveloped in orange energy.

'Oh. Right.' Roxy stifled a laugh as Bloom flew up, Sky floating behind her.

'Okay, we'll follow you, Flora,' Bloom said, and Flora fluttered off over the grass. Roxy took off after her, being sure to avoid touching any plant life. She wasn't gonna get ambushed because she brushed against some ivy; no way was she going down like that.

She glanced over at Flora; her friend's face was etched with concentration as she tried to find Diana. Suddenly, she stopped short, her head whipping to stare left.

'Flora…?' Bloom asked. 'Have you…'

'This way!' Flora cried, shooting off in the direction she'd been staring.

'You heard the woman!' Roxy exclaimed. 'This way!' She dodged past trees, emerging from the forest to see Diana standing atop a hill, staring down at her new jungle.

'On three,' Bloom muttered. 'One…two…three!'

'Wolf Talon!'

'Autumn Wind!'

'Dragon Heart!' Diana cried out as the three attacks collided with her, along with a stream of purple energy from Nabu's staff.

'What…' she struggled to her knees.

'Flora!' Bloom yelled, and Flora summoned vines, binding Diana down.

'You dare?! I will destroy you all for this outrage!' Diana screamed, thrashing and struggling in a ferocious attempt to free herself, the vines lighting up with her magic. Sweat poured down Flora's brow as she fought to remain in control. Looked like talking things out was off the table.

'Just hold her a bit longer!' Bloom cried, flying over. 'Remove the jungle, Diana! We won't ask again!' Diana's expression twisted with rage.

'No, you won't!' Flora screamed as the vines flew off Diana, her control being ripped away. 'You arrogant little fool! You believe yourself strong enough to wield nature?! You are weak! A mere sapling trying to stand against a hurricane!' The group exclaimed with surprise as the trees they'd emerged from all mutated into ferocious monsters.

'That's not good…' Roxy muttered. 'Scorpion's Tail!' Her sharp attack slashed across the monsters, turning several into kindling. Flora whimpered.

'No…Roxy, don't…you're killing them…' Roxy winced. She hadn't really thought that one through.

'Sorry, Flora!' She shrieked as a tree grabbed her around the ankle. 'On the other hand, I kinda gotta defend myself here! Wolf Talon!' The tree wasn't destroyed, but it did stagger back, allowing Roxy to use her magic to knock it over.

'Breath of the World!' Flora used her Believix therapeutic magic to restore the tree to its natural state, but there were still many more lumbering towards them.

'Still so certain of your choice of side, young one?' Roxy turned to see Diana behind her, smirking. 'They say you should always pick the winning side, and I think that side is perfectly clear.'

'Yeah. Mine!' Roxy snarled, and Diana laughed.

'Such ferocity. You would be a powerful ally to have.'

'Yeah. I am. That's why the Winx are so damn lucky to have me on their side.' She flew up in order to glare down at the statuesque fairy. 'Remove your plants, Diana!' Diana shook her head.

'No. My plants will bring life back to this cold, concrete prison humans have built. Soon I will save all the world as I have saved this place. Every city will become a jungle.' Oh. Oh, no. No way.

'Not a chance!' Roxy spat. 'We'll stop you before you can set foot in another city.' She faltered as Diana laughed as though she'd just said something hysterically funny.

'Oh, you poor, naive child. I do not need to set foot in any other city. Nor would I want to. These concrete blights disgust me! I can restore them all to nature's beauty from one place.'

'What?' Bloom demanded, her head whipping around as she held up a shield against a tree monster that Sky was attacking with his sword. 'Fire Arrow!' The tree was felled, and she came to land next to Roxy. 'What are you saying?' Diana chuckled.

'That you don't stand a chance, little girl. This world will be as it once was. Perfect. Pure. Green. And there is nothing you can do to stop me!' She turned to Roxy. 'Last chance, child. Join us. Join your true people.' Roxy's eyes narrowed into slits, and she summoned all the power she could, unleashing it in a furious blast.

'Wolf Talon!' Diana went flying into one of her beloved trees, crumpling to the ground and groaning. 'My true people are being endangered by your terraforming,' Roxy snapped. 'Get this through your plant-filled skull, Diana: I will never join you!' Diana scowled.

'So be it. But know that I will not ask again.' A flower burst from the Earth, enveloping Diana, and Roxy watched as the Major Fairy got away yet again.

'Fine by me.'

Roxy took out her frustration on the cardboard cutout of the model, the woman's fake smile now marred by the impact of her boot.

'We lost her!' she shrieked. 'And now we have no way to save Gardenia! Or the world, because apparently Diana's gonna take over the world! And she's gonna do it from who knows where. And you know who knows where that is? I'll tell you: not us! So we have no way of stopping her!' She screamed with frustration and stress, and Artù licked her hand, trying to make her feel better. She sighed, sagging against the wall. This was all her fault. She'd freed the fairies. She'd unleashed this. She covered her face with her hands, and Artù whimpered, nuzzling her sadly.

'Hey, boy…' She stroked his ears absentmindedly. 'What am I gonna do?' Artù looked at her, his expression saying 'I may have been a hero that one time against the wizards, but, at the end of the day, I am a dog, not a master strategist. You may wish to ask someone else.' And ask someone else she did, repeating her question to the entire room, drawing the attention of the downtrodden fairies and Specialists.

'What are we gonna do?'

'Brazil.' Roxy stared at Tecna for a minute.

'We're gonna do Brazil? What an amazing plan, Tecna. All our problems are solved.' Tecna rolled her eyes.

'We need to go to find Diana. And since Flora says she's not in Gardenia, and she said she wasn't going to another city, we can assume she's gone home.' Roxy raised an eyebrow.

'And she lives in Brazil?'

'Wait wait wait,' Musa interjected. 'I've read the Book of Fairy from cover to cover, and it doesn't say anything about Diana's home address. How do you know where she lives?' Tecna tapped her computer.

'Two hours of checking obscure internet sites. According to the net, there's a huge, ancient temple deep in the Amazon, and legends say that it's home to the supreme guardian of nature.' Roxy's heart skipped a beat. That sounded promising… Her spirits only rose as Tecna went on. 'Also, according to reports, loggers in the area have been impeded by 'strange women with wings and primitive weaponry.' Sound familiar?'

'Those sound like warrior fairies!' Bloom exclaimed. Tecna nodded.

'And to close the argument…' The Fairy of Technology tapped a few keys on her computer and a grainy video popped up on-screen. The footage was terrible, but Roxy could make out a blurry shape that was definitely a person, and definitely flying.

'You will pay for your desecration of this planet!' came the crackly roar. Vines burst from the ground, crushing a machine to scrap metal. The video went to black, but Roxy had seen all she needed.

'So. Brazil?'

'Hooray!' Stella cheered. 'Brazil is so beautiful!' Musa folded her arms.

'Stell, we're not going on vacation. We're going to save the world.' Stella pouted.

'We're always saving the world. One of these days we'll go somewhere on vacation.' Brandon hugged her from behind.

'Aw, Stella. I promise, once this is over, I will take you on a lovely vacation. How's Espero sound?' Stella instantly brightened.

'Oh, Brandon! I'll start mentally packing right away!' Roxy rolled her eyes affectionately at the loved-up couple as Stella kissed her boyfriend and Brandon playfully tickled her, eliciting a faux-growl that quickly shed its disguise and revealed itself as a giggle.

'As cute as you two are, we kinda need to stop Diana before you can sail off into the sunset,' Musa interjected. 'So, we're going to Brazil?'

'Awesome!' Riven grinned. 'Let's go take down that crazy nature fairy! She made a mistake when she messed with us!'

'Hate to burst your bubble, Riven, but I don't think we should all go.' Riven looked over at Bloom like a hurt puppy, and Roxy winced.

'Are you seriously sidelining me again?' Bloom sighed.

'It's not like that. I just think you guys should stay here to safeguard the people. Y'know, protect them from the monsters. Keep the mall safe.'

'Yeah, Riven. Stay here and be a mall guard,' Musa added, and Riven scowled. Musa smirked. 'What? You'll do a great job. Maybe you could get one of those walkie-talkies mall cops have.' Riven looked like he might explode, but Helia jumped in before he could.

'Hey! Not funny, Musa.' Musa snickered.

'I thought it was funny.' She shot Riven a glare, clearly not over him spending a whole day forcing inconvenient 'romantic' gestures at her, culminating in her getting covered in melted chocolate and flowers thanks to an unfortunately-positioned cable. Frankly, Roxy thought Musa's remark was kinda funny, but now was so totally not the time. Apparently, Sky shared her opinion.

'That makes sense, Bloom. We'll stay here and keep everyone safe. You guys stop Diana.' Riven glowered, but said nothing, clearly annoyed that he hadn't got a real fight since he'd faced off against Gantlos over a month ago in a battle that Roxy hadn't seen, but had heard was just embarrassing for the Specialist.

'Then I say we get going,' Musa said, avoiding Riven's gaze. Okay, this was getting really old. The Winx began saying goodbye to their boyfriends, Musa folding her arms and glowering at Riven's feet, as though his shoes were the most irritating part of him. In actual fact, she was probably just torn between avoiding his gaze and glaring at him, so had settled on a really weird middle-ground.

As the Winx said their goodbyes, Roxy wandered out into the mall, finding her dad helping sort out food for the people holed up in the makeshift shelter.

'Dad?' Her dad turned around, grimacing as he saw the expression on her face.

'Oh, God. Why do I feel like I don't want to hear this?' She bit her lip.

'Because you probably don't. Dad, the Winx and I are going to a temple deep in the Amazon Rainforest to stop Diana covering every city on the planet with a jungle.' She said it all in a rush, grimacing at the end. That was a lot of information to give someone in ten seconds.

'…You're doing what now?' Had she finally hit the craziness threshold? '…The Amazon? In South America?' She nodded.

'Yep. The Amazon Basin. Brazil. The Lungs of the World… A big forest, basically.'

'I see… Be safe, Butterfly.' Roxy blinked.

'Wait, what?' Her dad smiled down at her with pride.

'Roxy, I know I can't stop you doing this. You're way too brave and stubborn. So I'm just gonna get behind you, and worry an appropriate amount. Because I'm your father, so I have to.' He pulled her into a hug. 'Stay safe, baby girl.' Roxy nestled into his arms, clinging to the familiar security of the moment. She reluctantly pulled away, hearing Bloom calling her name.

'I gotta go, Dad. Keep Artù safe.' She knelt down and gave Artù a quick hug. 'Look after Dad, okay, boy?' Artù licked her and she laughed, getting up. 'I love you.' She spun around, transforming. 'Believix!'

'Good luck!' her dad called, waving as Artù yapped encouragingly.

'You ready?' Bloom checked as she landed next to the others.

'Oh yeah.' Bloom grinned.

'Then let's do this.'

'Winx Zoomix!'

And they're off! I included everyone hiding in the mall because I made Diana's takeover a bit more hardcore, and I wanted to show that Gardenia was being affected by having the city turned into a jungle. And sorry, but the Specialists aren't coming. It just felt like too many characters. Sorry the wizards weren't in this chapter; they may not be in the next either. But they'll be back soon, I promise!
