Furyou: You might. Power Tool Braver can make an appearance.

Chi: Eh… maybe. She has ways to mess with Aki's mind.

Chapter 42High Speed Chasers

"Cyber End Dragon, attack Psycho Locker! Eternal Evolution Burst!" Cyber End Dragon fires, releasing a triple blaze attack upon the hapless Psycho Locker. The resulting explosion blinds everyone. As Psycho Locker is obliterated, Inosume's life points drop to a pathetic zero.

He recovers just enough as the light returns, the man staring down at Lua in anger. "No… how is this possible?! You're just a kid!"

"And you've been losing to kids way past your prime! Grow up!" he shouts back.

"I may not beat you in a duel, but I can still finish my mission!" Inosume prepares to use his psychic powers to summon his monsters, but then it happens.

A metal item clocks him in the back of his head. He drops to his knees before plopping face forward unconscious. Holding it in both hands is Crow, standing behind the unconscious psychic duelist. "Takes care of that."

"Crow!" Lua and Luca shout going to his side.

"Everything okay over there, Babs?" Crow looks over to see Barbara helping up the helpless Bruno.

Staring down at Inosume, the kids go behind Crow to hide. "We're gonna have to deal with this bum. Get the rope."

Elsewhere…

Over at Neo Daedalus Bridge, Yusei rides over into position where the location on the map he was given depicted. With Mukuro behind him, he slides to a stop to the area; it's the same location where he defeated Placido and met the other members of Yliaster. There, he sees his target.

He's a green-haired male wearing a hooded cloak. He leans against a mahogany brown D-Wheel with his arms crossed. "Yusei Fudo. So you're the one Divine has been looking to purge."

"Where's the bomb?" Yusei demands, going straight to the point while ignoring all attempts at pleasantries.

"We can deal with that later.

Yusei keeps up, despite the impressive engine of his opponent's D-Wheel. "He could have made an excellent duelist in the tournament… why would he lower himself to working for Divine?"

RIDING DUEL ACCELERATION

Yusei Fudo: 4000

Kawashita: 4000

After both players draw their hands, up next is deciding who goes first. Up ahead is a corner just for that, which the Yusei Go moves quickly to reach. But as he's passing Kawashita, the psychic curves and slams him into the side of the extended walls.

Thus allowing him to start the duel. "I'll draw." Kawashita picks his sixth card while staring back at Yusei, who recovers from the cheap move. "I'll set three cards and summon Card Car D."

An orange car the size of Kawashita's D-Wheel forms in front of him. "By releasing this card, I draw two cards."

The car disappears before he pulls two from the top of his deck. "Turn end."

Yusei examines his play: three facedowns, and four in his hands. It can either mean his deck runs on those traps, or he bricked. Well, let's see what he can do. "Draw!"

Yusei reveals a card in his hand. "I will activate Junk Converter's effect; by discarding this card and a Tuner, I can add one Synchron monster to my hand!"

He reveals Junk Converter and Satellite Synchron. After discarding them, he searches his deck and pulls out Junk Synchron before immediately summoning it. "Junk Synchron's effect will special summon Junk Converter!"

As his ace tuner brings back help, Kawashita smirks. "Upon your successful summon, I can special summon this monster from my hand – come out, PSY-Framegear Alpha!"

From his hand appears electrified armor. It forms and floats in front of him.

Alpha: 500/0 (1) Tuner

"PSY-Framegear?" Yusei says as he looks back.

"Alpha can only be special summoned when my opponent summons a monster and I control no monsters. And upon doing so, I can not only add one PSY-Frame card to my hand, I can also special summon one PSY-Frame Driver to the field. Koi!"

A lime-skinned person rides into the field upon currents of lightning. His dark blue clothes stand out among him and white-eyes flare upon everything.

Driver: 2500/0 (6)

"Trap card open – PSY-Frame Current." A continuous trap opens up next to Driver. "This card allows me to perform a Synchro Summon once per turn when PSY-Frame Driver is special summoned with a PSY-Framegear. So guess who's getting the treatment?"

"A Synchro Summon on my turn?!" Yusei watches as Alpha turns into a single ring, allowing Driver to pass through. The outline of Alpha forms over his body, along with another object.

"At the speed of light, the gears will turn for the highspeed rider – Synchro Summon!" Appearing to the field is the completed form of Driver, adorning the armor of the PSY-Framegear. Electricity sparks around him. "Kick, PSY-Framelord Zeta!"

Zeta: 2500/1800 (7)

"He really did it… it's almost like an Accel Synchro," Yusei comments before continuing with his turn. "I'll tune Junk Converter with Junk Synchron."

Junk Synchron pulls the cord, turning into three different rings that pass through Converter. This causes the latter to become two stars. "Clustering wishes shall invoke a new power – become the path the light shines upon! Synchro Summon!"

From the light of Synchro, Junk Warrior pops up punching the air. "Converter's effect will revive Satellite Synchron to the field, and Junk Warrior will gain the attack of all level 2 or lower monsters I control!"

As Satellite Synchron appears in a defending position, Junk Warrior gains strength.

"Zeta's effect!" Zeta moves in with his fist reared back charging with psionic energy. "Zeta, send Junk Warrior to the future!"

Both monsters clash with fists, but soon they disappear into nothing. "Junk Warrior!"

"Zeta can banish any special summoned monster in attack mode and banish it until my next turn, but it goes with it."

Knowing that, Yusei also realizes that once Junk Warrior returns it loses the attack boost. It'll be destroyed within seconds. "I'll set one card and end my turn."

Kawashita draws for his turn, as Junk Warrior and Zeta return to the field. He then says, "I'll activate PSY-Frame Overload."

Zeta's left hand charges electricity. "This card will let me banish PSY-Frame card from my field or hand, and one card on the field will be banished from the game state."

"Game state?!" Yusei watches as Zeta fires, releasing a bolt of lightning that blitzes away his trap – Scrap-Metal Scarecrow.

"A card banished facedown is only recognized as a card. Unless a card states only that, you can't get it back." Kawashita snaps his fingers, and points at Junk Warrior. "Zeta, attack Junk Warrior!"

The psychic lord makes a pose and rushes forward, before leaping in the air. It drops down to deliver a flying side kick charged with lightning. Junk Warrior punches back, but gets blown back and destroyed.

Yusei: 3800 – 2 –

"That ends my turn."

Yusei looks at his hand thinking of a means. As he does, he's finding himself enjoying the challenge.

'And in a way, so is he…'

"Draw!" Yusei pulls his card before looking at it. With a trap card that can banish anything facedown and a monster that can disappear at will, he needs something strong enough to get around them. Of course, even if he gets it off the field, he'll have a plethora of cards in his hand to counter his moves.

Luckily, there is one option he has in his hand. "I will activate the Speed Spell – Angel Baton. It allows me to draw two cards and discard one." Yusei makes his play before discarding another. "I'll set two cards facedown and summon Zero Gardna in attack mode." A little bug flies onto the field holding a cinderblock shaped like a 0.

Zero Gardna: 0/0 (4)

"I'll end my turn."

'Is he preparing? Well, I can always get rid of that. Nothing can get out of a gamestate banishment.' Kawashita looks at his newly drawn card, adding it to his hand, before revealing PSY-Framegear Delta. "By banishing this PSY-Framegear, PSY-Frame Overload allows me to banish one card you control facedown. And I choose your Zero Gardna.

Zeta charges its power and prepares to blast the bug into oblivion.

"Not this time! Activate Scrap-Metal Statue!" A statue of Stardust Dragon forms, protecting Zero Gardna.

"What the?"

Yusei swirls to point at his trap. "Statue negates an already face-up magic or trap card and destroys it." Electricity circles the statue before firing back at Overload. It sparks before exploding. "Then, Statue will reset itself."

Kawashita watches as the trap card flips back down. "You must have just drawn that, and decided to lure me into activating it. How would you know I wouldn't just negate it with a PSY-Framegear?"

"Because their effects only work when you have no monsters on the field. Otherwise, you would have used Delta to negate Angel Baton."

"So you took a gamble…" says Kawashita, a small smirk on his face forming. "You're not having fun, are you?"

"I would if you weren't trying to blow up what me and my friends worked so hard to create," Yusei snaps, their threat still in his mind.

"Well, I am. I don't get challenges as good as these that aren't that bitch Saeko." Kawashita narrows his eyes at Zero Gardna. "I can't get rid of that without attacking, but I can still perform a neat little trick. Emergency Apport, activate!"

Kawashita's final trap opens up, and from the banish zone appears a brand new monster. This is another PSY-Framegear, shaped as Zeta's belt.

Beta: 700/0 (1) Tuner

Seeing the tuner, Yusei flinches knowing what he's up to.

"Apport allows me to special summon a banished Psychic monster, and with Beta I can perform a Synchro Summon." His monster turns into a single ring, one Zeta passes through. As the math calculates, emerging from the light of Synchro is a powerful new monster. Although, that is more cosmetic than actual, for the monster is a powered up version of Zeta. He also possesses an electromagnetic scooter to ring on.

"Ride on, PSY-Framelord Omega!"

Omega: 2800/2200 (8)

"PSY-Framelord Omega?" Yusei repeats as he watches Kawashita sets two cards.

"Omega, attack Zero Gardna!" The psychic streaker slides along the current to assault. As predicted, Yusei activates Zero Gardna's effect and protects his entire field. "I'll end my turn with that."

Seeing it's his turn, Yusei draws his card and prepares his turn.

"Omega's effect; I can return one banished card to my graveyard." He shows him PSY-Framegear Delta and adds it to his graveyard.

Seeing it, Yusei thinks. 'If it's anything like the other monster, it will have an effect that lets it banish itself to hinder me.' "I summon Tuning Supporter."

The familiar level 1 monster makes a return. "And, Satellite Synchron's effect allows me to increase its level to 4."

Satellite Synchron bumps up its level, making it a level 4 Tuner. "I'll tune my two monsters together!"

Satellite shouts out as it turns into four stars, passing through the supporter. "Clustering wishes shall dash through the horizon; become the path the light shines upon! Synchro Summon!"

Dashing into the world, a shining Stardust version of Speed Warrior moves in. jets shoot out from his back as he lands. "Blitz forth, Junk Speeder!"

Junk Speeder: 1800/1000 (5)

"Junk Speeder's effect; upon Synchro Summon, I can special summon as many Synchron Tuners from my deck as possible." Junk Speeder extends his left arm, bringing forth a flurry of other monsters. On his side are Drill Synchron, Hyper Synchron, Turbo Synchron, and Quick Synchron. "And, Tuning Supporter allows me to draw one card."

As Yusei draws, Kawashita blinks as he thinks of what Yusei can do. 'Knowing him, he's planning on using his Speeder to Synchro Summon. Drill can bring forth Stardust Dragon after all.'

"On the turn he is summoned, Junk Speeder can also double its attack power." Junk Speeder roars as he empowers himself.

"Nani?!" Kawashita scuffs before making his move. "Omega's other effect; I can banish this monster along with one card in your hand until my next Standby Phase."

Omega smirks before he glides on his scooter. He reaches out and snatches Yusei's left card, disappearing with it. "Trap card open – Zero Force!"

A wave of dark energy sparks among Yusei's monsters. As a result, all of his monsters lose their attack points. Seeing it, Yusei scuffs. "So, you had a plan to keep me from hitting you back…"

"I won't be going down that easily. I have a lot to do!"

"For the movement?" Yusei asks suddenly, glaring at him through the monitor. When he doesn't make a response, Yusei continues with his move. "I'll tune Quick Synchron with Junk Speeder."

Quick fires a bullet at a roulette, before turning into five rings. They pass through Speeder, turning him into five stars. "Clustering wishes will call upon the far reaches of space; become the path the light shines upon! Synchro Summon!"

Emerging from the light of Synchro is one of Yusei's stronger monsters. "Vector to the heavens – Satellite Warrior!"

Satellite Warrior: 2500/2000 (10)

"Satellite Warrior's effect; for every Synchro monster in my graveyard, I can destroy one card you control. Satellite Purge!" The warrior aims its panels upon the PSY-Frame Trap still on Kawashita's field, eradicating it with sunlight. "And, Satellite Warrior gains 1000 atk!"

Satellite Warrior: 3500/2000

"When PSY-Frame Current is sent to the graveyard, I can special summon one PSY-Frame Driver and one PSY-Framegear monster from my graveyard to the field." Driver returns alongside Alpha, forming a protective shield in front of Kawashita.

"That won't help you. While I control Drill Synchron, a Warrior monster can inflict piercing damage." Satellite Warrior draws in light from the solar panels, before forming a ball of concentrated light. "Attack PSY-Frame Driver! Illuminate, Prominence Buster!"

Satellite Warrior fires, blowing away the main piece of the PSY-Frame strategy. The psychic swerves as a result.

Kawashita: 500

"And, Drill Synchron allows me to draw." Yusei draws his card before setting it. "Turn end."

Kawashita scuffs feeling his strategy losing. He needs to take this seriously. Of course, before he begins his turn, Yusei speaks up. "Kawashita, right? What is this all about? Someone as skilled as you doing this?"

He ignores him. "Don't try to understand me. We all have a place we belong to, and we're not going to give it up just so a few people can feel better about themselves!"

"So you force Aki into something so she can feel worse about herself!"

"The only one who wants Aki back is Divine. We would have been fine if we left Japan and ignored her. But he can't give up on her!" Kawashita sounds angry here. "Why does he care so much about a girl who can't even use her powers anymore?!"

This surprises Yusei. "Aki… can't use her powers anymore?"

"Of course not! Why do you think she crashed in the first place? If her powers had worked, she'd never have been hospitalized at all."

The Signer leader blinks in shock thinking about the whole situation. But he can't think too much on it, because Kawashita begins his turn. "Draw! At my Standby Phase, my monster returns to the field."

Omega returns, along with the card Yusei lost in the process. "I will now perform a Synchro Summon using Alpha and Omega!" Alpha turns into a single ring, passing through Omega. "The alpha and omega meet; together they bridge together the infinite circuit! Synchro Summon!"

From the light of Synchro, Kawashita's newest monster pops onto the field. It resembles Omega without the necessary parts from the other gears. They instead form an improvised cannon held together by electromagnetism. "Spark – PSY-Framelord Sigma-Omega!"

Sigma-Omega: 3000/3000 (9)

"Sigma Omega?" Yusei repeats seeing the monster.

"Sigma-Omega has a particular effect; this card allows me to activate PSY-Framegear effects in hand even while I control a monster. But next, I will activate the effect of Overload and Zeta – by banishing the latter, I can add PSY-Framegear Gamma from my deck to my hand, and by returning the latter I can add Delta to my hand."

He reveals the two cards he mentioned before adding them to his hand. He then pulls a magic card from his hand. "Speed Spell – Speed Energy! Sigma-Omega will gain 200 atk for every SC I possess!"

Sigma-Omega takes aim with his weapon as he is powered up.

S-O: 4200

"Battle!" Sigma-Omega takes aim at the only monster in attack mode, Satellite Warrior. "Destroy Satellite Warrior – Current Cannon!"

The Psychic type fires, obliterating the spatial warrior and shattering it to pieces. Yusei swerves as the damage hits, grinding against the wall.

Yusei: 3100

"Satellite Warrior's effect; I can special summon Junk Warrior and Junk Speeder!"

"No you won't. Because I activate Gamma's effect!" He reveals his monster as Sigma-Omega fires at Satellite's remains. "Gamma negates monster effects, and I can special summon it and Driver!"

With Yusei's card effect negated, two more monsters form on Kawashita's field. The Stardust duelist narrows his eyes realizing he's at a big disadvantage. "Sigma-Omega, during my End Phase, allows me to return a PSY-Framegear to my hand from the field, but at any moment, I can send Driver to the graveyard to deal 1000 points of damage to you!"

Driver disappears before the lord aims at Yusei, hitting him with sparks of electricity.

Yusei: 2100

"Turn end." Gamma returns to his hand.

Yusei draws for his turn, staring at his hand. He has options, but which one to use? Well, this here is a good one. "I will set two cards facedown and end my turn."

Kawashita watches as he concludes his turn so easily. Even if he has a shield of Tuners… "Draw!"

Looking at his hand, he points. "Sigma-Omega, attack Hyper Synchron!"

The lord takes aim and fires, blowing away the tuner. "I'll end my turn with this!"

'He's stalling… looking for something to turn the tide… well, it's time to see this work out.' Yusei draws for his turn and sees the card he needs. "I will use Speed World 2's effect; by removing four Speed Counters, I can deal damage for every Speed Spell in my hand!" He reveals Highspeed Crash, sending a bolt of electricity at Kawashita.

"Delta's effect!" He reveals his gear. "This card will summon Driver and negate a Magic card activation!" Delta forms onto the field, protecting Kawashita. Driver appears again, before being shot out due to Sigma-Omega's effect.

"I activate Junkuriboh's effect!" Yusei discards his card, allowing a cute metal Kuriboh to appear. "Junkuriboh can discard itself to negate any effect that deals damage. And, that monster gets destroyed!"

"Gamma's effect will negate that by summoning a second Driver from my deck!" shouts Kawashita as his card prepares to protect his monster.

Yusei smirks. "Then I'll counter with this; Summon Tax activate!" A continuous trap opens up on Yusei's field. "Every time someone special summons a monster, they take damage equal to half of its attack points!"

Panicking a little, Kawashita reveals Epsilon in his hand. "Epsilon's effect; your trap is negated and I'll summon the Driver from my graveyard! And you won't have another counter for this one!"

Yusei smirks. "I was waiting for that."

"Huh?" Suddenly, a cancel noise is heard. Looking down, Kawashita realizes he can't activate his card effect. "What?! Why not?!"

"In order for your PSY-Framegears to activate, they need open space to summon Driver. Normally, that would be no problem since they need a clear field to be used, but your Sigma-Omega overriding that effect led to your abuse of those cards. You're about to summon four monsters with three zones left, leaving you with no more room!"

Kawashita flinches at the realization; he fell right into Yusei's trap!

As the chain resolves, Summon Tax activates successfully. Gamma negates Junkuriboh's effect, and Sigma-Omega punishes Yusei with 1000 points of damage.

Yusei: 1100

But, since he summoned Gamma and Driver, he will be forced to take 1750. Summon Tax fires a bolt, putting an end to the duel.

Kawashita: 0000

His D-Wheel opens up, causing Kawashita to swerve before hitting the wall. He gets flung off and rolls along the road, his helmet denting in the process. Yusei slides into a park before dismounting and rushing to his side. He grabs hold of Kawashita's concussive state, noting something has fallen from his inner shirt pocket.

"A detonator…" he remarks, pocketing the item. Now that the bridge is safe, he can get to the more important thing. "Alright, where's Aki? Where have you taken her?!"

Kawashita looks up at Yusei with a defeated chuckle, muttering, "Wouldn't you like to know…"

He falls unconscious, the concussion taking its toll. With him down, Yusei lies him down before looking around. "Aki…" All he can do now is find the bombs and remove them.

Unknown to him, another figure has been watching the scene play out. At the top of Neo Daedalus Bridge is Lucciano. He cackles, saying, "That was interesting to watch! I wonder what these psychics are up to…"

He snickers as an idea hits him. "Now that Placido is getting repaired, it is my time to have fun."

Elsewhere…

Over in the Daimon area, Sherry is found on the floor face-up. Her cards scattered, her life points at zero, she has lost and suffered severe damage.

Standing over her is Divine, his duel disk still active. A monster towers overhead, shadowed by the very storm its power commenced. With her defeat his machine turns off, and the man steps forth taking a knee. He holds a hand out to Sherry, cupping her chin.

"Ah, Sherry LeBlanc. How I've waited to have you under my grasp." He presses two fingers in front of her eyes as his own shine violet. "YOU WILL BE MINE NOW."

Her eyes open slightly as they glow a little. "The knight shall slay the stars to bring forth domination."

All light dies from her eyes as she remains motionless. "Now rise." Sherry stands tall per his instructions. "You and I are going to make the world a perfect place… for me."

His hand reaches out to grasp an area nowhere near her hand, only for him to notice the sound of approaching footsteps. Scuffing, he says, "Let's go. Okita and the others should have their missions fulfilled by now."

Following him wordlessly, the two make their escape before others find them and record.

Later…

Over at the home of Yusei and the others, the members of the Arcadia Movement that have been bested are together all wrapped up for Security: Kawashita, Liquid, and Makoto. Their besters stand before them in triumph.

Yusei and the others stand watch. Lua turns to Yusei, asking, "Are you sure they don't know where Aki is?"

"They do. But their loyalty is keeping their mouths shut," Jack states, not bothering to look at them. "With what we know, Divine is behind all of this."

"We need to find him," says Yusei with concern. If Aki's powers are gone, she's in a helpless state. 'Although, it may be for the best, but there's no denying that without them Aki won't be able to escape this as easily.'

Back at the Hideout…

"DAMN IT!" Divine throws something heavy at the wall, denting it. "Liquid, Inosume, even Kawashita… all defeated by the Signers!"

Okita stands next to Saeko with Aki strung up. The former says, "I told you we should have just gone after one of them."

"Shut up, Okita! I make the rules!" he shouts, losing some of his composure.

"I should have gone. I wouldn't have lost to any of them!" Saeko mutters.

Aki breathes a sigh of relief knowing her friends made it through the initial assault. Noticing this, Saeko turns to her and slaps her in the boobs. "Don't sound so proud!"

As Aki feels the stinging sensation, Divine turns to Okita. "You at least accomplished your mission, correct?"

"Yes." He gestures to a Duel Monster holding the unconscious bodies of both Senator Izayoi and his wife. "All we need now is one of the Signers, which we could have done if Kawashita succeeded. Or we sent all three after him."

"I was certain he could out think Yusei Fudo." Calming down, Divine devises another plan. "But, I do have another plan. We can capture him; we just need to get Yusei isolated from the others."

He goes over to Sherry, who holds up a cellphone for him to use. "I have a sister I can call upon for help."

"You have family?" Okita asks in surprise.

Aki glares at him. "What makes you think she will want to help you knowing what you are?"

Her response earns her more slaps from Saeko. Divine simply grins, saying, "Who says I'm going to her?"

Lightz: Now, I usually use this as a means of apologizing for the long wait. But, I have been job hunting. It's hard to do that and work on fanfiction at the same time. What I can say is this; the next update will be July 13th. That should make up for this.
