What happens when Eragon stumbles across Saphira’s egg, without Arya being captured? And what happens when the Ra’Zac capture him, and Durza forces him to swear Alleigance to the King? (I have plans for this story, so the rating and genre may change, also, extended summary inside!)

Arya doesn't have the opportunity of sending the egg away with magic, instead, it is lost during an attack, and Eragon instead finds it amongst a group of merchants. Interested in the stone, he buys it, and is amazed when it hatches for him.

Now, with some knowledge from Brom, he tries his best to understand the situation he's been put into. However, the Ra'Zac learn of his dragon much earlier, and attack him and his Uncle, leaving Eragon kidnapped, and Garrow dead.

The Ra'Zac take him to Gil'ead, where he spends many months under the tortuous watch of Durza, the Shade, with only one question in mind. Will you swear allegiance to the King?
