Author's Note: Hi all! Here is the next chapter! This one is the shortest out of them all.

CHAPTER TWO

Cory was the first to wake up, the glare of the morning sun hitting him straight in the eyes through the crack of the closed curtains. He held his hand up to shield his tired eyes from the sunlight.

Once he had recovered, he began looking around the room to find himself in an unfamiliar place and looked over to his left to find the blonde he met last night sleeping soundly beside him.

"Oh shit." He muttered under his breath, and looked over to the floor to find his discarded clothes thrown mindlessly everywhere.

Cory gave himself two options, stay here with Katy and have an awkward conversation or get up and leave before she wakes up.

Cory bit his lip in thought; he knew the right thing to do would be wake Katy, have a conversation with her and see what happens. But he couldn't. He felt too ashamed of himself.

WIth a sigh, Cory carefully pulled the sheets back that covered him and slowly arose from the bed, cursing the creaks that followed.

His underwear laid pooled beside the bed, and he carefully put them on, watching for any movement from Katy. It would be worse if she woke to find him getting ready to leave without saying goodbye.

He quickly but carefully grabbed every item of clothing and left the room, only in his underwear figuring he could change outside.

The short haired brunette began walking out of the building when he was fully dressed until he stopped in his tracks. Would Topanga really want to see him? How would he explain what had happened?

He ultimately decided he would go home, he had to tell Topanga and knew this would make or break them. He really hoped she would find it in herself to forgive him, but he would understand if he never wanted to see him again. After all, he did cheat on his wife.

Cory walked up the flight of stairs in the apartment building and reached his door. He took a breath before unlocking the door and letting himself in. He took note of Topanga laying on the couch and he immediately realised she was waiting for him to come home. A pang of guilt crossed his heart.

He walked over to the couch after setting his keys and coat aside and crouched down beside her. Smiling at how peaceful she looked.

"Topanga?" He called out softly, and reached up to move a strand of hair behind her ear. "Sweetie?"

She began to stir and woke with a start, it took a few minutes for her to realise that Cory was in front of her.

"Cory?" Topanga called out in a raspy voice, "is that you?"

He swallowed thickly and nodded, "yeah, Topanga. It's me." He said, his hand resting on her upper arm.

"I'm sorry for last night." Topanga said and Cory's smile dropped, realising he should be the one apologising for what he did.

"I'm sorry too, I shouldn't have left."

She shook her head, "you have nothing to apologise for. You were right, I should be here more often."

"Well, we can put it behind us. Because I love you, Topanga. I really do. And I won't let this break us." He meant every word, just in a different context. Topanga smiled and leaned forward to share a short kiss.

Topanga pulled away and yawned before sitting up, "where did you stay last night anyway?" She wondered.

Cory didn't know how to tell her, should he tell her now? They're practically hanging on by a thread.

"I err, stayed in the hotel… across the street." He finished with an awkward smile.

Topanga nodded, yawning as she stretched for a moment before looking back over to Cory and reaching over to caress his cheek lovingly.

"You know why I love you so much?" She asked as his hand reached out to gently stroke her leg.

He shook his head.

Topanga smiled, "because you've never given me a reason to not trust and believe you. I always believe that no matter what happens with us, we will always come back to each other."

Cory swallowed thickly, "you really believe that?" He questioned, the pang of guilt appearing again.

"I do. Do you?"

He nodded, "I do."

Topanga leaned down and shared a sweet short kiss with him, pulling away with a smile. He gave her a smile back before she moved away and headed to the bathroom to freshen up.

He watched her leave, his smile fading as she left the room. Cory raised himself and moved to sit on the couch his wife was previously occupying.

He held his head in his hands, letting out an annoyed sigh, he knew he should've told her then. As he moved his hands away, his eyes drifted and locked to his wedding ring. He gulped nervously as one thought drifted through his mind.

Would he be willing to risk everything?
