Author's Note: Hi all! Here is the next chapter! In this one, Topanga and Cory finally become the parents they've always dreamed of being.

CHAPTER FOUR

Nine months had passed, Topanga was nearing her due date. Things were back on track for them, Topanga had fully forgiven him and Cory stuck by his promises and Topanga had never questioned his faithfulness since that day.

Now here they were, Cory laying on the couch with Topanga between his legs, laying on top of him.

His hands were on her stomach with hers on top of his own.

"How about Sophia?" Cory questioned with a shrug.

Topanga half nodded, "I still like Chloe for a girl." She beamed.

"Me too…" he laid in thought for a moment when another name struck him, "what about Riley?" He asked, half smiling, waiting for his wife's reaction.

Topanga thought about the name, "Riley," she tested it out and smiled, "I do like that name as well… I wonder which name she'd suit best."

"Well once we see her for the first time, we'll know then." Cory commented, "Sophia Matthews… Riley Matthews…" he tested both names out.

"They both sound lovely… I think either will suit her." Cory nodded with a smile.

This was one of the many moments they both enjoyed.

Topanga had taken a while to forgive him but neither regretted staying together. When she got to the sixth month of her pregnancy, things changed for her. All the anger and heartbreak she had for so long had gone, all she could feel was love, excitement. She didn't know exactly what caused it but she had an idea.

When Cory had surprised her with the nursery, she wasn't allowed in there and he treated her to a spa day. When she arrived home, the nursery was complete and when he surprised her with it, something in her clicked and she smiled at his efforts.

Topanga was shaken from her thoughts when a surge of pain erupted, she clutched her stomach with one hand as she pulled away from Cory.

"What's wrong? Topanga?" He asked, now sitting beside his wife, rubbing her back soothingly.

She turned to look at him, "I think she's coming." Cory's eyes widened and leapt up from his seat, not knowing what to do.

"What do we do? Do I get the hospital bag? Call an ambulance?" Cory asked frantically.

Topanga shook her head, "we have to time how far apart the contractions are… she may not be ready for hours."

Cory looked over at her and let out a breath, relaxing slightly. "Do you want me to time them?" He offered and she nodded.

It wasn't until twenty minutes later when she had her second contraction, they were bearable at the moment.

"Okay, only twenty minutes," Cory commented, "when do we go to the hospital?" He asked, taking a seat next to his wife again.

Topanga thought for a moment, "when they're five minutes apart." She replied.

Cory nodded and began fiddling with his hands, really not knowing what to do. He couldn't relax, how could he? His daughter was being born today… his daughter was being born today. The thought made him smile.

He shook the thought and turned to his wife, "do you want anything?" He offered.

Topanga shook her head as she sat back on the couch, relaxing until another contraction would come.

Cory wondered how she could be so calm while being in labour, he was freaking out.

Time had passed, a few hours to be exact.

"How far apart are they now?" Topanga questioned her husband.

Cory glanced down at his watch, "they're seven minutes apart… surely that's enough time, right?"

Topanga shrugged and opened her mouth to speak but another contraction came and was worse than the others she had experienced.

It lasted a few minutes before subsiding and she looked up at Cory, breathless. "Get the hospital bag." She ordered.

Cory didn't need to be told twice and ran to their bedroom to fetch her bag they had packed for weeks.

He rushed back into the living room and couldn't see Topanga.

"Topanga?" He called out.

"I'm down here!" A strained voice called out from the couch, he walked over in confusion and found her on all fours on the floor. "We need to go, now!" She ordered, her teeth gritted together in pain.

Cory wasted no time and carefully helped Topanga up and guided her to their beat up car and drove them both to the hospital.

They carefully got out of the car and he ended up near carrying Topanga to the reception desk, "my wife is in labour." He said, anything but calm yet the receptionist jumped into action and grabbed a wheelchair for Topanga, and rushed the pair to the delivery room.

Neither needed to wait long before their daughter was born, Cory was memorised with this tiny human that was his and Topanga's daughter. He swore he'd never seen anything more beautiful than his baby.

"Cory?" Topanga whispered, he tore his eyes away from their daughter for a moment, "can I hold her?" Cory nodded with a grin and placed her onto Topanga's chest.

Both their hearts melted at the sight.

"She's beautiful," Topanga commented, "isn't she Cory?" He didn't need to confirm but nodded anyway. She already knew his answer.

They spent a few moments together, just mom, dad and baby.

"I'm going to go call our parents, okay?" Topanga nodded tearfully and he smiled at the two of them before leaving the room and making the calls.

He soon returns, walking back to Topanga's side. Cory gently caressed their daughter's head and shared a quick peck with Topanga.

"What should we call her?" Topanga asked, looking over at Cory.

Cory smiled, "Riley. Riley Matthews." He looked at Topanga for confirmation and her smile said it all.

She raised Riley slightly in her arms and gave her a long kiss on her forehead, "hello Riley." Topanga greeted for the first time. "I'm your mommy, and I promise I will always look after you and love you, no matter what." She tilted Riley slightly as if she was looking at Cory, "and this, this is your daddy."

Cory felt himself tearing up, he allowed a tear to fall and quickly wiped it away, "hey Riley. I-I don't have any great life advice for you yet, you have all of that to come." Topanga let out a small laugh, "but, what I will tell you is that today, today is the day that my life officially begins." He gave Riley a kiss on the forehead and then looked over at Topanga who was now freely crying. Tears of happiness obviously.

"I love you, Topanga."

"I love you too."

This was the day their lives had started properly. The day Riley Matthews was born.

The months had flown by, although it didn't feel like that too much for the Matthews couple. Cory hadn't slept in god knows how long since Topanga had to go back to work five months after Riley had been born. Cory however paused his teaching career while raising young Riley. He and Topanga both agreed that when Riley was two, she could go to daycare but for now they wanted to be there while she grew before their very eyes.

Topanga was currently at work, so Cory was on his own for most of the day but his parents had been visiting numerous times to see their new grandchild, Shawn had visited a few times as well as Eric.

Cory had put Riley down for a nap, as he usually did after she had her milk. He crashed out on the couch until he heard the mail be delivered outside his door. He groaned as he got up to collect their mail, Topanga had complained too many times at him for leaving it outside for anyone to take.

He opened the front door and sighed as he bent down and picked up the mail, he started flicking through it all as he walked back into their apartment and closed the door behind him.

"Bill… bill… bill… b-" Cory cut himself off as he came face to face with a letter addressed to him.

He furrowed his brows before opening the envelope and his eyes widened when he saw a picture of a baby. His heart raced as he anticipated that this baby could be his.

He couldn't help but smile as he traced the outline of the baby with his finger and turned it over to find a name on there.

"Sarah" Cory said aloud and smiled immediately at the name before reading more, "this is your baby, Cory. I thought you should at least have a picture of her. Born on January 16th." He finished ready and turned the card back over and smiled at the photo. This was his daughter, Riley's sister. His smile faded though as he realised he would never meet her, Katy never wished for him too and he didn't want to cause problems for anyone.

He sat down on the couch simply just staring at the photo of the daughter he was never meant to meet.

The door suddenly opened and Topanga entered, Cory barely had enough time to hide the photo before she appeared.

"Hey." Topanga greeted happily and bounced over to him, "you'll never guess what happened today."

"What happened?" He questioned.

Topanga beamed, "I got offered a full time position with the law firm!" Cory leapt off the couch and pulled Topanga in for a hug.

"I'm so proud of you, Topanga. All your hardwork has finally paid off." Cory said.

Topanga suddenly became distracted by a photo that was between the couch cushions. "What's that?" She asked pulling away from him.

Cory simply stood there as she pulled the picture out and furrowed her brows at the picture of a baby before turning it over and seeing the writing. She looked up at Cory who appeared guiltier than ever.

"Is this what I think it is?" He nodded weakly and she sighed, "so this is your daughter, Sarah?" He nodded again, "she's beautiful." Topanga complimented causing him to look at her in confusion.

"What?"

"Well she is, isn't she?" Topanga took a step closer to him, "look, whatever you think I'm going to say, don't. Because this baby is a part of you, and I love you, Cory. I'm not going to insult this baby just because of how she was created."

Cory sighed, "you're right. I'm sorry, Topanga." He pulled her into his arms, "why do you put up with me?"

"Because I love you. That should be reason enough." She pulled away from him and gave him a peck, "I'm going to check on Riley."

And with that, she left the room and Cory to look at the picture a few more times before he was ready to put it away.

Thank you for reading! Riley is finally here! And appears she's not alone as Cory's other daughter, 'Sarah' has made an appearance. What could happen next?
