Author's Note: Hi all! Here is the next chapter! This is based on the episode where the Boy Meets World cast reunites with the Girl Meets World cast. Here I mainly focus on the relationship between Maya and Josh. Enjoy! Another short one!

CHAPTER SEVEN

Maya and Riley were now thirteen, and completely inseparable. It warmed Cory's heart to know his two daughters were the best of friends - even if they never knew the truth, he was just glad they'd have each other for life.

The holidays came around; it was Christmas and Maya opted to spend it with the Matthews since her mom was working a late shift.

Maya and Riley were sitting together on the bench in the kitchen when Cory's parents arrived for the holidays. Maya seemed fairly disinterested until Riley's uncle Josh made an appearance.

"Boing," she said with a smile, pointing over towards him.

Riley laughed, "that's my uncle, Maya."

"Sweet, I would be your aunt." Maya responded grinning while Riley turned horrified.

Auggie screamed out for his uncle and ran towards him with open arms.

"Auggie!" Josh greeted back, hoisting the younger boy onto his shoulders.

"I love it up here." Auggie beamed until Josh bent down and allowed him to tumble onto the couch with a laugh.

Riley stood up walking over to her uncle, "Uncle Josh," she greeted, sharing a hug with him.

"Riley," Josh greeted back before releasing his niece from his arms.

Maya suddenly stepped forward with her arms open, "Uncle Josh," she greeted, holding him tight in her arms.

Josh stumbled back a moment, his arms not wrapping around her waist, "I'm not your uncle, Maya."

"Even better." Maya responded, in a dazed loved up state.

Riley then stepped forward and pulled Maya away from her uncle, with an almost awkward smile.

Josh looked over at the young blonde teen, "it's- it's been awhile." He said, with a small smile.

"Sure has," Maya responded smiling.

Josh reached up and rubbed the back of his neck as his gaze shifted around between her and the floor, "well, you grew up gorgeous." He said before walking off towards his mom and sister-in-law.

Maya watched him walk away and grinned as she looked over at her best friend who looked mortified.

"You are not going to be my aunt," she declared, folding her arms.

Maya reached up to play with her hair slightly singing, "I can't hear you, ba-da-da-da-da-da-duh." She sang, walking backwards towards the bench again, sitting down as Riley followed her.

Cory watched Josh and Maya's interaction as he sat on the couch with his father, he had a worried look. And that only continued when he looked over at Topanga who appeared oblivious to their entire interaction. He supposed he could blame his mom for that.

They all ended up sitting round the extended table for dinner, all enjoying their Christmas meal, along with Shawn who made an appearance not too long after Cory's parents arrived.

When Maya wasn't staring daggers at Shawn, Cory noticed her looking lovingly over at his younger brother. It wouldn't have bothered him so much if they weren't related, but they were and he had to do everything in his power to make sure this never went further than a harmless crush.

Once everyone had gone their separate ways, Cory and Topanga cleaned up the mess that remained in the kitchen.

Topanga was washing the empty dishes while Cory dried every dish passed to him, he decided to speak up now.

"Did you notice anything going on between Josh and Maya?" Cory asked.

Topanga looked over at her husband and shook her head, "no, why did something happen?"

Cory shrugged as he dried another dish, "just the way Maya looks at him, and I'm almost sure that Josh may feel something for her as well."

She simply shook her head with a smile, "you realise that Josh is seventeen and Maya is nearly fourteen? There's three years between them, they're both at completely different stages in their lives."

Cory nodded, "I know that, I do, Topanga. But you know how Maya is when she gets an idea. She doesn't stop until she's got it."

"So what're you saying?" She asked, shaking her hands free of the remaining suds and grabbing a free towel to dry her hands.

He simply sighed as he placed the towel down and leaned against the counter, "I don't know, Topanga."

Topanga reached over and rubbed his back soothingly, "hey," she called, grabbing his attention. He looked over at her, "we won't do anything about it now, okay? We don't know for sure if Josh reciprocates these feelings, and there's a huge chance he doesn't purely because of the age gap between them. If in time it gets to a point where we have to intervene, then we will."

Cory gave her a sad smile and pushed himself away from the counter. "You're right," he sighed, "I love you."

She smiled, "and I love you, always." She pulled him in for a hug, his chin rested on her shoulder as his smile slowly faded. He couldn't help but feel as if something terrible was heading his way, little did he know he was half right.
