Summary: Chip and Tsubasa talk about life and reasons

Disclaimer: Don't own them.

"Are you going?" Tsubasa asked.

Chip glanced over from his book to look at him while he stirring his cauldron.

"I don't know," Chip said as he went back to his book.

A long silence fell between them. Undonna-san called to ask Chip to cover their potion classes while their instructor went to her sister's wedding. He has been home a few times since coming here. It was never for long.

It was never long enough for everyone except Chip, who left as soon as he could.

"You think that I should?" Chip asked.

He rolled his eyes.

"Chip-kun, you're asking me?"

"Yes because you're honest and a friend."

"You know that I will tell you to get your head out of your ass and go. You complain about not seeing your family. Here is your chance."

"And, Tsubasa-kun?"

"And you are an idiot for putting yourself through every time that they call and want you to come home. They can figure out potions. They can figure out their own messes. You can't fix everything because you are the sane one of the group."

"Did you just call me sane?"

"That was a mistake."

"I heard you," He teased him.

"It is your imagination."

"I have a very good imagination."

He snorted.

"I know."

"Speaking of awkward conversations, your sister called again," Chip said as he waved his wand at his cauldron. The fire underneath the cauldron came to life.

He groaned. Every time that Chip said that, he knew that it was a bad idea to introduce his friend to his family.

So far this conversation isn't too bad.

"Then your mom...it was nice. We talked about some new recipes that we want to try. We are thinking of doing a recipe swap again."

He felt his right eye start twitching.

No..

"Then your dad...which I'm not sure how he got my number. Your dad is as scary as Leanbow...so, it was an awkward conversation. We bonded over knight stuff…."

He groaned as Chip continued.

"Of course, your brothers called, which was a long conversation. Kai is really excited about something. There was a lot of hand waving from the video call. I think that it was soccer-related but I have no idea. Makito and I talked about his farm. We should visit him. He is growing some herbs that we might be..."

If he groaned anymore, he would think that he had a cold.

"It isn't that bad. Your family is nice," Chip said as he patted his shoulder.

He had the strong impulse to dunk his head into his potion. He didn't hate his family. They were just so damn nosy about his life and that is why he moved away. Of course, that hasn't stopped his family.

It didn't stop Chip's family either. They call just as much as his family. Sometimes, Thorn-san called him as well.

It might be the most terrifying thing besides fighting monsters.

"Since we're giving each other friendly advice..."

"We aren't."

"Yes, we are. You gave me some..."

"That you have the choice to ignore it."

"Nope, it was good advice."

He snorted but he felt a grin form on his face.

"Talk to them on your own terms. They will stop chasing once you call once a week or however you want it. Set boundaries. Something that I suck at so badly. You? I think that you are better at it than me. So, you figure it out."

He glanced over at him and he gave a big smile.

"It is fairly good advice," He remarked.

Chip threw up his arms in celebration as he rolled his eyes. Chip-kun can be so strange.

"Speaking of advice...when are you going to ask out Mina?" He said with a small smile.

Chip's face turned red.

"Tsubasa-kun!"

He just laughed at him.

"I also have a solution to your problem."

"What's it?" Chip asked.

He smirked

-PRMMMM-

He might have smirked a bit when he saw Undonna-san and Claire-san's expressions when he stepped out of the portal.
