A peridot and bismuth dug through ancient artifacts on the lower levels of Homeworld. "We're uncovering primordial Homeworld knowledge unseen for millennia, even predating the Diamonds!" the peridot exclaimed, her eyes wide with excitement as she surveyed the array of discoveries spread across the hardlight table.
Bismuth sighed, brushing dust from her hands as she straightened up. "Anything besides Era One and Two junk tech?" She peered over the towering peridot's shoulder, skeptical.
The peridot proudly displayed a fossilized skull. "Before gems, an intelligent species mastered faster-than-light travel and colonized neighboring planets." She projected a map of the solar system, and Bismuth squinted, pointing to the planet nearest Homeworld.
"That world's a factory colony, and those two were soldier training grounds." Peridot's eyes widened in astonishment. "What?"
Clearing her throat, she regained her composure. "Then there must be more artifacts to uncover!" Her body trembled with exhilaration as one of the quartz workers called out.
"We found something else!"
They hurried over to investigate a sealed metal container. "What is it?" the quartz worker asked, perplexed.
Peridot shoved the quartzes aside, recognizing the object from historical documentation. "A sarcophagus!" Without hesitation, she snatched a laser drill and began cutting into the steel casing, her face flushed with ardor. "We must see what's inside."
As the drill pierced through, a torrent of black liquid burst forth, drenching the gems. "Ugh! What is this?" Peridot spluttered, wiping the viscous ooze from her eyes.
The lid burst open, and a goo-covered being emerged, coughing as it tore away tubes and vents. "Sssamarka, Sserki ssiru miasska?" it hissed, revealing a humanoid lizard form.
"I'm Peridot! Amateur archaeologist and currently the only one on Homeworld." Before she could react, the creature seized her gem, transferring data as her eyes flickered blue before retreating to her gemstone poofing. Bismuth watched in horror as the being's skin began to crack and peel away, revealing a human figure with gray skin.
Letting out a satisfied sigh, it sloughed off the remnants of its former visage and used the black ooze to slick back its hair. "Much better," he rumbled in a deep, resonant tone. The bismuth tried to attack only for thin black crystals crossed at her wrist stoping in her tracks her, as multiple crystal erupted stabbing her and she went poof leaving nothing but her gem.
The Quartz soldiers tried to attack only for rods out of crystals to erupt from the creature's body. "What are you?!" The last standing quartz soldier asked, The creature looked down at the amythest, with a somber expression. "I am a jewel, designation stibnite but my name is Sternrad and I'm going to find out what in the name of Salaz happened!" Crystals erupted from the ground and launched himself to the upper surface.
Lisa was watering the plants in her parent's room only for the screen to turn on scaring her. "Steven! We need your help there's this creature sitting in front of the palace!" She spoke terrified and confused on what to do. "ah Dad's not here right now." White diamond Sighed. "Just find Jasper!" The screen turned off and Lisa got out of the house and made her way to the forest.
Jasper was hittng a tree and training. "What do you want?" Lisa ducked under the bush, trembling in fear. "You better have a good reason why you're here." Jasper grabbed the ten year old by the top of her head.
Lisa Gulped swallowing all her fear. "Auntwhitediamondaskedyouforhelp, please Mrs Jasper!" Jasper sighed and made her way to a warp pad and Warped across space and time, with Lisa.
Peridots were scanning him and went back to the diamonds for their report. "We... Don't know what he is." Diamond held backfrom screamig.
Clasped her hands and spoke calmly. "What do you know?" She said restraining herself from going super nova on the poor peridots.
Peridot cleared her throat, attemping to calm herself. "All Right, We know he has a core but the make up different, the amount of energy that is stored. Oh mama it is alot." WD raised a brow at that. "And it's body is like that of an organic but the Nerves system is hard light. Its like a mixture of gem and Organic that was grown in a lab." White diamond looked shocked none her subjects would have done something like that right?
Sternrad Yawned. "Hey WD where the fighters you promised me?"
WD Screamed in a fury "Just wait a few more minutes!" Sternrad turned turned and laughed. "Yea that's the Wd I remember! I miss when you were fifteen... foot tall and yelled about losing at that game with Alderbrand. Oh the trantrums you would go into." He laughed with joy and nostalgia, that slowly turn to sorrow spreading into his face as he saw Wd's confused expression. "Well I think I dreamt that up." White diamond nodded before she heard the Warp pad turning on and Jasper stepped out of and plopped Lisa next to the warp pad.
Jasper stepped toward with a smirk juxtaposed to the frown on Jewel's face. "You're the trouble maker?" He pointed and launched a rod of crystal at jasper, the moment the rod shattered across Jaspers chest Sternrad ran infront of her before Jasper realized, he kicked her chin and launched Jasper into the sky, he luanched himself with crystals after her and was punched higher into space, Jasper summoned her helmet and launched herself at Sternrad who was floating in space, then The Jewel caught her by the helmet and cracked it, Jasper was shocked then she got thrown back to the palace. Jasper stood back and dodged a black crystal ball.
Jasper glared as The Jewel kicked his way out, Jasper spin dashed and ripped his right arm off. Jasper stared in horror as black fluid erupted from his wound, white diamond blocked it from hitting Lisa, though she spat out a drop that got in her mouth and then hard light tendrils erupted from the opening and grabbed the limb and reattached it. "Did you expect me to go poof?" The Jewel asked with a passive expression.
The warp pad turned on and then Stevonnie stepped. "Mom! Dad!" She looked at lisa. "You're getting grounded young lady!" Then Stevonnie turned to the Jewel. "And who are you?" Stevonnie asked with a Smile and then noticed the black liquid. "Need healing?" The jewel Pointed his palm at Stevonnie and started firing hundreds of crystal spikes, they easily blocked with their shield, Jasper spin dashed at The Jewel and he stomped, a crystal pillar blocking and then encasing her in the crystal. "I am impressed, and I don't mean you Mammal, I mean the jasper. She's an actual evolution from the weak and simplistic quartz construction gems." Stevonnie jumped over the Jewel and tried to cut his hitting his shoulder and he sighed as more goo flowed out of him and the blade was stuck.
Sternrad looked at the sword, Stevonnie's shocked face mildly surprised him. "Wait for it." Light tendrils erupted, Stevonnie Stepped back covering their eyes. The Jewel pulled the sword out of his own shoulder. "Nice sword, but yea you their need a sharper sword or more training." He heard cracks and then Jasper running through him splitting him in halfs.
Sternrad sighed at his missing legs and the light attempted to pull his legs together, yet Jasper took his legs and threw them to the surface. "Oh come on!" Jasper pointed at sternrad. "What are you?" She glared at him.
He yelled "Just destroy my body already! Everyone is gone and I'm alone!" He looked at the sky.
"You're now alone. There's alot of others who can understand how you fell" Steven offered and The jewel sighed. "You don't have to destroy or have jasper destroy you." Sternrad laughed as if mocking him. "You think I care? I don't even know who the Salzar you are! WHY DOESN'T WD REMEMBER ME! WHERE DID YOU COME FROM?" He yelled out fighting back his pain. "Where is my father? Where are those I promised to protect? WHERE ARE YOU OBSIDIAN?"
A Deafening boom spread across the air as gems flinched and covered their ears, Jasper took a defensive stance and Lisa clung on to Stevonnie's leg shaking in fear, as they all turned to the four pointed star that had materialized across sky, it vibrated and Glowed with intense ethereal light. "Obsidian?" he whispered, his voice cracking with emotion. "Is that you?" He tried to crawl toward it. The star as if responding to Sternrad drew closer condensing, Stevonie on instinct formed a bubble shield around themself and Lisa, as they felt rage coming toward, while jasper stood her ground waiting for the challenge and finally a being cloaked in white with flaming wind, wearing a golden skull mask where one eye was a cube stepped toward them.
Jasper steadied herself fists clenched walked toward her, as the being came into range she delivered the first punch and retaliated by dodging jasper's attack and retaliating by punching her into her stomach and launching a inferno of fire leaving a hole, then jasper's entire body erupted into flames, her attempts to silenced only smoke come out before the fire consumed her, once the fires were extinguished leaving nothing but jasper's gem.
The being walked toward Sternrad and peeked him up. "You're not pyrite, you have his wings but not his smug mug." The jewel nodded and looked stevonnie and brought forth a single meber with a casual motion, it flicked the ember towards the bubble shield, burning a small hole through the protective barrier as a warning.
As if to warn them they're not safe. It turned around. "Wait!" It looked at the now unfused Connie and Steven asked. "What are you?"
It fully spread its wings. "The remakers of this world!" It flew away with Sternrad in hand and slowly turned into the four pointed star again.
Steven looked worried for the first time in years.
