### AITA for being mad my daughter chose her future husband over me?

▽ For context, I (653M) am the leader of a large, international organization which leads important projects that are technically illegal in many countries. They're for a good cause, however, my American future SIL (27M) is very attached to his justice system. Over the last year or so, he has attempted to put a stop to almost all of my projects (such as in this post). While I have the highest respect for him, sometimes it feels the only thing we have in common is love for my daughter (27F). It is my hope for him to eventually join me and be my heir, but at the moment he is considered an enemy of my operation.

A few days ago, I was about to begin the next phase of my operation when my future SIL showed up, having tracked down our base of operations with the intent of stopping it. While I could have ordered my bodyguards to kill him, my respect for him led me to challenge him to a duel to the death. After many hours of combat, a scorpion stung my future SIL, which I considered to be fate saying I had won.

Then came the important part. My daughter gave her love a final kiss, which I later realized was her way to give him the antidote to the poison behind my back. Because of my unawareness, he was able to catch me by surprise and capture me. I am currently in a United States jail awaiting my trial.

While I am not necessarily upset that my daughter didn't want her future husband to die, I am mad she saved him behind my back. While I probably would have told her no, I would have been aware of the possibility she would betray me and that he was not dead, so I wouldn't have been caught off guard enough to get arrested. When I explained it to my daughter however, she said it was overly convoluted and that I was an idiot for thinking she'd be alright killing the man she loves.

AITA?
