Notes: Part 2 of 3 of the endgame here! I don't think this one needs any warnings or anything, so here we go!
Back at the Power Chamber, the other Rangers had just watched Tanya's highly destructive plunge to the Earth in suburban Angel Grove in great distress.
"Geez, when will it ever be enough for these two?" Adam wondered.
"Like many evil monsters, Katherine and Tanya are now filled with an almost constant urge to destroy." said Zordon. "Absorbing so much of Lord Zedd's evil energy has imbued them with a pure, unstoppable form of aggression. They will never be satisfied and will ultimately wipe out the entire planet if we don't stop them."
"It was that second dose of evil energy from Zedd that really sent them off the deep end, it was just too much for them apparently." Billy added. "It would be fascinating to study how it all worked if it wasn't, you know. Apocalyptically terrifying."
"Apocalyptically terrifying is right." said Rocky, shaking his head. "We gotta stop them now. If we don't, the whole WORLD is doomed. Speaking of, where's Kim-" he started to say before he was suddenly interrupted by Kimberly Hart teleporting into the Power Chamber.
"Tommy!" Kim yelled as she ran forward to embrace him. Tommy at first returned her hug with great enthusiasm, finally getting an emotional release during what had been the most difficult day of his life, but then thought of Kat's words from earlier and awkwardly backed out of her arms. Kimberly felt her eyes welling up as she thought of everything the first man she had ever loved had been going through today. Seeing Kat like this must be so horrible! she thought, trying to stop herself from crying. I mean, it's been horrible for me just watching the TV coverage and I'M not the one dating her! Although I might be her type now...
"Kimberly, it's great to see you." Billy said, his own eyes still red from his tears over the Aquitian Rangers. "I wish this was a happier reunion."
"Billy, I'm so sorry." Kim replied as she walked over to give him a hug too, relieved to be snapped out of her weird thoughts from a moment ago. "Adam told me what happened to those Alien Rangers."
"Thanks Kim." Billy nodded. "I know you never met them but they were really special. They saved us all from Zedd & Rita at one point- we'd have died a long time ago without them. And now they're gone."
"Hey Kim." Adam said as she walked over to give him a hug as well. "It's been a rough day." he said flatly.
"Sounds like the understatement of the century." Kimberly muttered.
"I don't mean to cut the reunion short but we really have to get this show on the road." Rocky pointed out, even as she reached over to give him a hug too. "It's great to see you again Kim but are you sure you're ready for this?"
"No." she answered as she looked at the screen where Kat and Tanya were both stepping on more houses. "But I have to do it anyway."
"Former Pink Ranger of Earth, I will be focusing all of my magical power directly into you." said Trey. "That should hopefully grow you to the same size as the two evil titans. I will then ride with you in your hand and continue casting with my Gold Power Staff, to try and help counteract their evil monster powers."
"And then I have to get you up close to their faces so you can shrink them back down to normal, right?" Kim said, to which Trey nodded. "Sounds easier said than done, especially when there's two of them and one of me."
"You'll have backup." Billy quickly said. "The Super Zeo Zords are fully repaired from their encounter with Kat & Tanya earlier. And I've finished the remote launch program for all four of the Pink & Yellow Zords, from both sets."
"That will let us deploy both the Zeo & Super Zeo Megazords even though we're shorthanded." Adam nodded. "Brilliant, Billy!"
"I'll go in the Red Battlezord." said Tommy. "Adam will take the Zeo Megazord and Rocky will go in the Super Zeo Megazord."
"Having one person each to pilot a Megazord obviously isn't ideal, but we're going to need everything we have to pull this off." Billy said.
"You go out first Kim and obviously be a...big point of emphasis." Tommy said, actually smiling a little despite everything. "Then we sneak up behind them in the Zords. And don't worry Kim, we have a huge surprise for them at that point."
"It's just been nonstop puns about being large all day, huh?" Kim said with a slight smile.
"This isn't exactly the most honorable fight plan we've ever had." Rocky noted, ignoring Kimberly's joke about all the puns.
"Beggars can't be choosers comes to mind." Adam replied.
"Kimberly, please make sure to keep your bearings after I make you grow." said Trey as he turned down toward the short brunette.
"What, like don't go out of control with power and go on a murderous rampage? I'll do what I can." Kim said dryly.
"You'll need to keep in mind that certain...issues will be unavoidable at that size." said Trey awkwardly. Kim just looked at him and blinked.
"What's bathrobe guy trying to get at?" Kimberly asked the others, in no mood for cryptic alien speak.
"Kim, you're gonna be over 550 feet tall right?" Adam said, trying to think of a gentle way to say it.
"Yeah, that's the plan right? What about it?"
"Jesus. They're trying to tell you that you're about to step on lots of innocent people and you can't let yourself be worried or distracted by it." said Rocky, long out of patience with literally everyone today.
"Oh." Kim said simply. Somehow, she hadn't actually thought of that until now, even though it quickly seemed obvious. "I'm gonna...kill people?" The thought made her feel physically ill.
"Kimberly, if we don't send you after them they will ultimately slaughter millions, perhaps even billions of people." Zordon finally spoke up. "You must not think of anything except stopping Katherine and Tanya before all is lost."
Kimberly nodded. She knew he was right, as he always was, but she still couldn't get the feeling out of her mind that people were gonna die and it was gonna be her fault. She shook her head, trying to keep her mind clear.
"If you want to back out of this now we'll all understand." Tommy said. "We can try to get Zach or Trini to take your place. Or Aisha."
"You're sure you want to do this, right?" Adam asked her.
"I'm sure." Kimberly replied this time, taking a deep breath. "I'm the one who chose Katherine to take my place as the Pink Ranger. I have a responsibility to stop her. And...the other one." she said, suddenly realizing she didn't know Tanya at all. I bet Aisha wouldn't have done this!
"Kim..." Tommy said, moved by her determination. She's still a Power Ranger through and through when the chips are down. he thought. If she can do this, I can too! It's time for me to start acting like the leader of this team again. "There's no time to waste then! Let's finally put an end to this madness and defeat Katherine and Tanya once and for all!"
"They might never truly be able to come back from this, but we can't just hand over the Earth to them either!" an equally determined Rocky added.
"Let's try our best to save them, but let's make sure we save the planet first." Adam agreed.
"Rangers of Earth! I will take Kimberly to their location and begin!" said Trey of Triforia proudly. The alien warrior was tired of feeling useless today. He was determined to set everything right that he himself had caused to go wrong.
"And we'll get to the Zord bay." Tommy nodded. "Let's do this!"
"See you soon." Kimberly said. "I mean, you'll be seeing a whole lot of ME at least." she joked.
"That's the spirit, you've got the big puns down." Adam laughed.
"Let's all bring it in first." said Tommy, putting his hand in the middle. Hopefully not for the last time. he thought to himself.
All the other Rangers, including Trey, Billy and Kimberly, put their hands in the middle.
"POWER RANGERS!" they all yelled.
Back in the residential area, Katherine and Tanya had returned to their old standby: crushing multiple houses at once under their massive feet. Both girls grinned evilly as any stragglers who hadn't already evacuated the area abandoned their own tiny houses. The two titanic teens just kept carving a swath of destruction through suburban Angel Grove.
This really never gets old. Kat thought to herself as two more of them were obliterated under her glistening, ivory white skin. You'd think it would, and then it just doesn't.
"HAHAHA!" Tanya cackled evilly as two more houses wee destroyed under her massive black foot. "I CAN'T BELIEVE I EVER EVEN USED TO FIT IN THESE THINGS!"
"I KNOW, CAN YOU EVEN IMAGINE?" Kat snorted. "WE WERE ONCE JUST TINY LITTLE THINGS LIKE THEM TOO, AND NOW WE'RE THE STRONGEST BEINGS IN HISTORY!"
Suddenly, a huge flash of golden light lit up the sky.
"OH BOY, IT MUST BE SHOWTIME!" Tanya said excitedly.
Both massive giants watched as a gigantic Kimberly suddenly appeared in the near distance. She was wearing a pink floral dress and white sneakers, which is the part Tanya immediately noticed.
"HEY, HOW COME SHE GETS TO WEAR SHOES AND WE DON'T?!" Tanya complained.
Don't you dare try to put those beauties away from me. Kat thought to herself, having fully come to grips with the weird lesbian foot fetish she had developed as a result of the two of them stomping around barefoot as giants everywhere. The last thing she wanted now was Tanya trying to use her evil monster powers to magic up some shoes for herself. "I THOUGHT YOU LIKED FEELING EVERYTHING YOU STEPPED ON?" Kat pointed out hopefully.
"I DO…." Tanya admitted. "OK, I GUESS YOU'RE RIGHT, BAREFOOT IS THE ONLY WAY TO DO THIS GIANT MONSTER THING."
Phew, crisis averted. a visibly relieved Kat thought.
I know you like my feet now you big dummy. Tanya thought to herself with a grin. It's pretty obvious!
Meanwhile, Kimberly was trying to adjust to her new gigantic size.
"WHOA." the 550-feet-tall newly enshrined titan said simply, looking around at everything. It was like looking out of an airplane but while you're somehow standing on the Earth. Everything was so unbelievably tiny! She looked down and saw where her massive white sneakers were each placed in two different residential streets, each shoe easily taking up the entire width of the relatively narrow street, and watched in amazement as ant-sized people ran down past them. She realized they were desperately trying to get to safety and tried not to think about how many she had already crushed when she first appeared on the scene, nor how many more she was going to have to step on just to follow through with their plan. This is incredible. Kim thought to herself as she pushed that aside. I'm so huge!
"Kimberly! Down here!" came a tiny voice from her right hand.
She looked down and was absolutely floored by how incredibly small the morphed Gold Ranger looked in her palm. It was spread out all around him like a small plain. He's an actual person, the same size I was moments ago, and he's absolutely nothing to me now! Just a little ant in my hand! she thought to herself in amazement. She was starting to understand why the other two girls got so carried away, even putting aside the Dark Suggestion. The sheer power was incredible- Kimberly really had no idea it would be like this. I used to be SHORT! Now look at me!
"Please do not lose focus, former Pink Ranger of Earth!" Trey yelled up at her from her palm. Kim nodded. "I will keep casting with the Gold Power Staff to protect you, but the Pink and Yellow Zeo Rangers have become incredibly strong! Be ready!"
Kimberly gave a determined nod, having been snapped out of her brief post-growth daze by Trey's speech.
"HELLO, KIMBERLY." said Katherine in a flat tone.
Kat wore a relatively emotionless expression that was difficult for Kim to read, while this other girl- Tanya- was openly scowling at her.
"HEY KAT." Kim replied, just as Katherine and Tanya each took a tentative giant step toward her. "YOU'VE HAD A BIG DAY, HUH?"
"YOU COULD SAY THAT." Kat replied with an evil grin. "I CRUSHED AN ENTIRE TEAM OF POWER RANGERS OUT OF EXISTENCE WITH ABOUT AS MUCH EFFORT AS IT TAKES TO WIPE AWAY DUST. SO THAT WAS COOL."
"YOU REALLY HAD EVERYBODY FOOLED, HUH?" Kimberly replied as she shook her head, while Kat gave a look like she didn't know what she was talking about. Kim's resolve hardened- while she was starting to understand how these two had gotten so into being this big, Kat's callous words about killing an entire team of Rangers had quickly reminded Kimberly of just how far her successor had really fallen. "I KNOW, THE DARK SUGGESTION, YOU GOT TURNED INTO A MONSTER, BLAH BLAH BLAH. I STILL THINK YOU HAD A CHOICE. YOU WERE NEVER UNDER A MIND CONTROL SPELL THIS WHOLE TIME. NOT FOR ONE SECOND."
"THAT'S TRUE." Kat agreed.
"YOU COULD HAVE FOUGHT HARDER AGAINST THE EVIL INFLUENCES." said Kimberly with a deadly serious look on her face. "YOU TOO, WHATEVER YOUR NAME IS."
"TANYA. NICE TO MEET YOU."
"YEAH. THAT'S AN...INTERESTING OUTFIT YOU'VE GOT ON." Kimberly said with a raised eyebrow.
Tanya looked down at her skimpy two-piece swimsuit and then shrugged.
"I'VE GOT A LOT TO SHOW OFF." she said with a grin before flexing one of her huge biceps.
"DAMN RIGHT YOU DO BABE." Kat smirked.
"ANYWAY. MY POINT IS I'M NOT FALLING FOR IT." said Kimberly, trying to get off the awkward subject of their weird giant lesbian love affair. "THE TWO OF YOU BOTH COULD HAVE STOPPED THIS HOURS AGO. I DON'T KNOW WHAT THIS OTHER GIRL'S WHOLE DEAL IS, BUT I DO KNOW ABOUT YOU KAT."
"OH YEAH? WHAT'S MY DEAL, KIM?"
"YOU'RE A STONE COLD BITCH."
Katherine smiled at this even as Tanya looked offended.
"WATCH YOUR MOUTH!" Tanya yelled, loud enough to shake the very Earth.
"IT'S OK." Kat assured her outraged partner with a grin. "I'M A BIG GIRL. I CAN HANDLE IT."
She turned back to look at Kimberly with an amused look on her face, but then suddenly got more serious.
"I REALLY RESENTED YOU FOR A LONG TIME. SOMETIMES I THOUGHT TOMMY CLEARLY STILL BEING IN LOVE WITH YOU WAS YOUR FAULT; OTHER TIMES I THOUGHT IT WAS MINE."
"SOUNDS LIKE SOME MAJOR INSECURITY ISSUES YOU SHOULD HAVE WORKED OUT ON YOUR OWN." Kim replied matter-of-factly.
"WELL, I DID WORK OUT MY ISSUES." Kat grinned. "IN CASE YOU HAVEN'T NOTICED, I BECAME THE STRONGEST BEING IN THE UNIVERSE." she said, flexing her arm. "AND I HAVE A SUPER HOT GIRLFRIEND NOW ANYWAY, SO YOU CAN HAVE PATHETIC LITTLE TOMMY FOR ALL I CARE."
Tanya almost fainted. She called me her girlfriend! Somehow this made their relationship feel even more real than when Kat had called Tanya her "partner" earlier. Tanya moved in closer to her and hooked her arm into her own, causing Kat to smile confidently.
"I'M REALLY PROUD OF YOU FOR LEARNING SOMETHING NEW ABOUT YOURSELF TODAY." Kimberly replied sarcastically.
"OH, I'VE LEARNED A LOT ABOUT MYSELF TODAY. WHICH IS WHY I KNOW I'M GONNA ENJOY MAKING YOU CHOKE ON YOUR WORDS." she smirked.
"AND WE'RE BACK TO THE STONE COLD BITCH PART." Kimberly said as she took a fighting stance.
"WHAT ARE YOU GONNA DO ANYWAY, SHORTIE?!" Tanya exclaimed.
Indeed, before they all grew Kimberly had been proportionally shorter than Tanya and especially Katherine, which remained true even at their massive sizes.
"I DON'T REALLY THINK THAT NICKNAME SUITS ME RIGHT NOW." Kim pointed out dryly. "NOW ARE WE GONNA STAND AROUND AND SNIPE AT EACH OTHER LIKE A BUNCH OF GIRLS OR ARE WE GONNA FIGHT?!" she joked.
Kat and Tanya shared a strange look, before each turned back toward Kimberly and began to approach her. Kim looked down toward the Gold Ranger, knowing it was now or never. Hopefully I kept them distracted long enough for the guys to get in position...
"Now! Reveal!" Trey yelled from Kimberly's palm.
With another flash of gold energy, the Super Zeo Megazord, the Zeo Megazord and the Red Battlezord all suddenly appeared behind the two mega giants! In actuality they had been standing there for quite some time, but Trey was casting an invisibility cloak over all three Zords. Before the two girls could even react, the three Zords moved forward, reaching up and placing two gigantic pairs of futuristic handcuffs (just like the ones the girls had been placed in back at the Power Chamber, except obviously much, much larger!) on their wrists.
"NOT THESE STUPID CUFFS AGAIN!" Tanya whined.
She and Katherine struggled to get free, tensing up their massive muscles.
"You'll find those pretty difficult to get out of!" Tommy yelled through his Zord's speakers.
"They're magically reinforced by the Gold Power Staff!" Adam added.
Tommy smiled to himself under his Ranger helmet. It was a genius bit of planning by Billy and Trey together- Billy to design the handcuffs and Trey to magically reinforce them against the girls' massive evil power. The handcuffs were blessed with a Gold counterspell that was essentially negating their evil energy.
Katherine just sneered at her tiny ex-boyfriend's words, then looked back over at Kimberly.
"MAYBE NEXT TIME IT WILL BE YOU UP HERE, CRUSHING THE CITY." she taunted her. "I GREW TO STOP A BAD GUY THE FIRST TIME TOO, YOU KNOW! IT'S INTERESTING THEY'D TRY THIS A SECOND TIME AFTER HOW THAT WORKED OUT!"
Kimberly shook her head as she held her hand up in the two titanic villains' faces, pointing at her gigantic successor with an accusatory finger. "I'M NOT LIKE YOU, KAT. THIS WILL BE THE FIRST AND LAST TIME YOU EVER SEE ME THIS BIG. THE THOUGHT OF STEPPING ON PEOPLE MAKES ME SICK."
You probably stepped on plenty already. Kat thought to herself with a grin.
"TREY! END THIS!" Kimberly yelled. Unbeknownst to her, Trey had already been trying the spell to return Katherine and Tanya to their normal forms. But it seemed to be having no effect on them whatsoever.
"I don't understand..." Trey muttered. "I should be close enough to them."
He held the Gold Power Staff up slightly higher as it flashed with energy once more.
Back up on the moon, Lord Zedd watched all this unfold and grew increasingly concerned as the two giants struggled in their handcuffs. I'm surprised they're not strong enough by now to break out of those, even though they've been reinforced by the Gold Power Staff…. the evildoer thought to himself. He started lifting up his own Z-Staff.
"Zedd! Wait! What are you doing?!" Rita yelled.
"What does it look like, you dimwit?! I'm zapping our giants with evil energy again so they can break free!"
"I don't think that's such a good idea." said Rita. "They're already immensely powerful and completely uncontrollable! Who knows what will happen if you give them even MORE power?! Remember what I said earlier, they might just defeat the rest of the Power Rangers and then come for US!"
Zedd never liked admitting when his wife had a point, but he quickly realized she did here. He had developed a soft spot despite himself for these two strange, massive lesbian evildoers- anyone who could wipe out an entire Ranger team was pretty great in his book!- but he didn't last for thousands of years by having no sense of self-preservation. Filled with regret, he slowly lowered his staff and said a silent goodbye to the two greatest evil warriors he had ever known.
"Grrrrr, finally we'll be rid of those two!" said a pleased Goldar.
"Be quiet you gold monkey!" Zedd yelled as he smacked him with his staff angrily. "This is no time for celebration!"
Zedd watched on through his visor as the scene continued unfolding.
"TREY! WHAT'S WRONG?!" Kimberly yelled down into her palm. She obviously noticed that Kat and Tanya were still their same massive sizes. He should have been able to shrink them by now…. she thought to herself, concerned.
Katherine and Tanya meanwhile continued to struggle in the magically reinforced handcuffs.
"THIS IS SO BOGUS." Tanya muttered.
"YOU KNOW, EVEN IF YOU ACTUALLY DO MANAGE TO SHRINK US DOWN WE'LL JUST FIND A WAY BACK UP HERE AGAIN." Kat pointed out to the heroes with a grin. "WE DID IT ONCE ALREADY."
Hopefully when he heals you of the Dark Suggestion too that isn't a problem anymore... Tommy thought to himself from in his Zord.
Suddenly from within Kimberly's palm, Trey felt something as he tried the spell a third time. The Gold Power Staff glowed again as he felt like something had changed in the air around him. I'm not even sure what it is, but this time seems to be different! Trey thought to himself. With one more flash, the two titanic girls suddenly disappeared from in front of him!
"THEY'RE GONE!" Kimberly said in amazement.
"They should be back at the Power Chamber waiting for us." said Trey proudly. "In their original, normal-sized human bodies, I might add!"
"Alright!" Rocky yelled from within the Super Zeo Megazord. "We fucking did it!" If any time ever felt like a time for an expletive, this was it.
"But next comes what may be an even tougher test." Adam pointed out. "We have to see if Trey can heal them from the Dark Suggestion too. Or else they might just run back to their evil mommy and daddy to make them huge again, just like Kat promised they would."
"Indeed, so let's not waste anymore time." Trey nodded. He turned from within Kimberly's palm to face the titaness.
Kimberly took one last look around at the tiny landscape. It really is cool being this big. she thought to herself. I do get that part at least, Kat.
With another flash from his Gold Power Staff, he and the gigantic Kimberly both disappeared. Angel Grove was finally free of massive teenagers, leaving the weary citizens free to start digging through the incredible amount of wreckage left behind.
