Long Feng half listened to Kuei ramble on about something his stupid pet bear did, lost in thought. He never would have dreamed that he would make a deal with the prince of the Fire Nation of all people. Hopefully nothing bad would come out of this alliance and they both could get what they wanted out of this deal, and-

"Do you ever wonder what happened to Bosco's mother?"

Long Feng turned to Kuei, the question catching him off guard, "What?"

"Bosco's mother! When I got him he was already on his own. I wonder what happened to her. Do you think that she's dead?"

Long Feng stared at the other man, bewildered. This was why he needed to overthrow this fool, otherwise Ba Sing Se would-

Wait, mother?

He pondered the word for all of two seconds before he came to a realization: he had the prince's mother in his custody. If he found out about that, there was no telling what would happen. Long Feng would have to keep those two as far away from each other as possible.

After a few more minutes, Long Feng excused himself and went back to his office. He needed to figure out a way to capture the avatar and deliver him to Prince Zuko. But how to do that? It wasn't as if he could just go to where they lived and offer to take them to where the princess was being held. Not after the deal he made with them. If he were to show up now they would immediately suspect something was up and attack him, especially the water tribe boy, who seemed to have feelings for Princess Azula. And the last thing he wanted was to start a fight out in the open. That certainly wouldn't go over well. Perhaps he could use a Joo Dee….

Or perhaps the boy named Jet would be a better idea. Have him lead them to Lake Laogai, where they would be attacked and captured. His mind made up, Long Feng went to contact the Dai Li and have them send Jet out to put his plan into motion.

The others could tell that Sokka was very close to snapping. They were walking back to their house after asking around about a possible prison in the city, but nobody could give them a straight answer. Some of them seemed downright afraid to say anything, no matter how much they asked. The last person just slammed the door in their face before they could even get a word out. Sokka looked as if he was getting ready to bust the door down, so they quickly grabbed him and left the area. It was quiet for a bit before Sokka exploded.

"Dammit, does nobody in this stupid city know anything?! There's gotta be someone who knows about a prison here! It's highly unlikely that she would be held within the palace since that would be too risky, so the only natural conclusion is that she's being held in a prison somewhere, and yet we have no leads to go on!"

"If it's a prison that you're looking for, I can help you guys out." a voice said from behind them. A rather familiar voice to Aang, Katara, and Sokka. They turned around and were shocked to see none other than Jet.

"JET?!"

The boy smiled at them and then looked at Katara, "long time no see, Katara. How have you been-"

The boy didn't get to finish his sentence as Katara immediately attacked him, freezing him against a wall.

"Katara, wait! I've changed!"

"Tell it to some other girl, Jet!" she screamed before preparing to attack him again.

"Katara, wait! Stop attacking. Jet, do you really know of a prison somewhere around here?" Sokka asked, walking towards Jet. He really hoped that Jet was telling the truth, because if he wasn't, the others would have to restrain him from trying to kill the other boy. Well, everyone except For Katara. She'd probably be all for it.

"Yeah, I do. It's called Lake Laogai. The reason why nobody would tell you anything about it is because they don't know that it's actually a prison. To everyone here, it's just a vacation spot and nothing more. I know how to get there so I can take you guys. Why do you want to go there, anyway? All of you guys are here, just with some new faces."

"Sokka's tiny girlfriend got captured and now we're trying to find her." Toph said, smirking at Sokka as she waited for the inevitable denial on his part.

"Tiny girlfriend?"

"I'll explain all of that on the way, just take us there! Katara, release him."

Katara continued to glare at Jet, but did as she was asked. The minute the boy was free, she grabbed him by the collar of his shirt.

"If this is a trap, I'll make you sorry for deceiving us. Got it?!"

"It's not a trap, I swear! Like I said, I changed. Now come on, let's go." Jet said, beckoning them to follow him. There was a part of Sokka that felt relieved that they would finally be able to possibly find and rescue Azula, but there was another part of him that felt like this was a little too easy. What were the odds of Jet coming along at just the right moment like that? It was just too convenient. For now though, he would just have to watch Jet and be mindful of their surroundings, unlike last time when he was with Azula. If only he had been paying attention back then, maybe she wouldn't have gotten captured and she would still be here with them. With him. He really did hope that Jet was telling the truth. As they were walking, another voice stopped them in their tracks.

"Jet! There you are! Longshot and I have been looking everywhere for you ever since you were arrested by the Dai Li. Are you ok? What happened to you?" Smellerbee asked, running up to the group.

"Arrested? I wasn't arrested! What are you talking about?"

"What are you talking about? We both saw you being taken away by those guys! Do you really not remember that?"

"You know, we never did ask him how he knew all of that stuff about this Lake Laogai place, but if he was arrested and taken there then it would all make sense." Mai said.

Sokka wanted to slap himself. How in the world did he not think to ask Jet that? This really was just a trap after all, then.

"He's not lying."

The others turned around to look at Toph. Jet wasn't lying? Then what did that mean?

"These guys aren't lying either. They really did witness Jet being taken by the Dai Li, and Jet firmly believes that he wasn't. Both of them are telling the truth."

"That doesn't make sense though! How could the both of them be telling the truth when their stories don't match up?" Katara asked.

Sokka blocked them out and began to think. Jet denied that he had been arrested, and Smellerbee and Longshot were claiming that he was arrested and that they had witnessed it. According to Toph, neither one of them was lying. Truth be told, he was more inclined to believe what Smellerbee and Longshot were saying. But that still didn't explain why Jet was so adamant on denying that he wasn't-

Just then, Sokka remembered something. Specifically, something that happened when they first arrived in the city. They had meant a woman calling herself Joo Dee, only to find out that she was actually Azula's mother, Ursa, something that "Joo Dee" vehemently denied. And it didn't seem like she was lying either. If anything, she seemed to be exactly like Jet was right now: firmly in denial and believing wholeheartedly that what they were being told wasn't the case. Which could only mean one thing.

"Jet was brainwashed. That's why he believes that he wasn't actually arrested!"

"Brainwashed? How do you know that?" Smellerbee asked.

"I'll explain later, but right now we should probably get Jet back to our house."

As they began walking back, Ty Lee bent down and whispered in Toph's ear excitedly.

"He didn't deny the tiny girlfriend part! He's finally accepting his feelings for Azula!"

"Yeah, after a thousand years. Now all that's left is to get the tiny princess to confess how she feels towards him."

When they finally got back to their house, Sokka quickly got Smellerbee and Longshot up to speed on everything that had happened since they came to Ba Sing Se.

"I see. So to sum it up, your girlfriend got captured by the same people who arrested Jet, said girlfriend's mother is also here and she's been brainwashed and doesn't remember anything and denied what your girlfriend told her about who she actually is, much like how Jet is in denial about getting arrested. Did I get all of that right?"

Sokka nodded, "Yes. And after what you told us, that explains why Jet knew so much about Lake Laogai. He was most likely taken there after his arrest."

"And you think that this girlfriend of yours is there too?"

"Well where else could she be at? Since Jet was taken there when he was arrested, it's reasonable to assume that Lake Laogai is where the Dai Li takes people who threaten the 'peace' in this city. Speaking of which, why was Jet arrested in the first place? You never told us that part."

Smellerbee blinked. She had completely forgotten about that little detail.

"Oh, right. On our way to Ba Sing Se, we met these two guys on a ship. One was an old man, and the other was a teenager around our age with a burn scar on his left eye. The teenager helped Jet steal the really good food that the refugees weren't allowed to eat, and Jet asked him if he wanted to join us, but the guy declined. When the ship arrived at our destination, we boarded a train that would take us to the city. Jet swore up and down that the old guy heated up his tea because when Jet was sitting next to him, he had complained about his tea being cold. Then when we all got into the city, Jet took to spying on them for a while, and when he figured that he had enough evidence to expose them, he confronted them at the tea shop that they both work at. He got into a fight with the teenager, and that was when the Dai Li arrived and dragged Jet away. We haven't seen him since then. Until today, that is."

When she finished telling her story, Smellerbee looked at Sokka, expecting him to say something, only to find that he was looking at her with a fearful expression on his face.

"Why do you look as if you've just seen a ghost?"

"You-you said that one of the guys has a scar on his face? Are you absolutely sure?"

"Uh, yeah? It's kinda hard to forget seeing something like that."

"And Jet heard the old guy complaining about his tea being cold, and then a while later he noticed that he heated his tea by himself?"

"That's what he said."

Sokka lightly chuckled. Could this situation get any worse?

"Then that means that Zuko and Iroh are here in the city. And if they find out that Azula is here, and that she's been kidnapped, we'll have even more trouble on our hands. We can't let them get to her! Katara, how's Jet doing? Does he remember anything yet?"

"I think he's beginning to remember bits and pieces of what happened, going by the expression on his face."

They turned to Jet, and sure enough, the boy was holding his head in pain with his eyes closed.

"Jet! Are you ok?!" Smellerbee asked, quickly running over to him.

"I…remember those Dai Li guys taking me away from the tea shop. They knocked me out, and when I came to, I was in some kind of room and strapped down to a chair. There was a man in the room, but I can't remember what he looked like. I just remember him saying something to the Dai Li agent who was in the room with us, and then he left. Then there's this flash of light that's going around in a circle, and the agent saying over and over that 'There is no war in Ba Sing Se.' and 'Here we are safe. Here we are free.' Then after that, everything is a blur. I don't remember what happened to me after that. All I remember is Lake Laogai, and all of these women who dressed exactly the same. And…. I think I saw a little girl there."

"Are you sure?!" Sokka exclaimed.

"Yeah. Surprised me to see a kid there tho- wait, why do you look so happy for Sokka?"

"Because that girl you saw is his tiny girlfriend!" Ty Lee said happily.

"Your girlfriend is a little girl? That's just sick, Sokka."

"Oh for the love of- she's not actually a little girl, ok?! Stuff happened that resulted in her getting changed into a child. Anyway, now that you remember everything, can we please get a move on now? I want to rescue Azula as soon as possible before her brother and uncle find out what's happened to her and before that bastard Long Feng tries anything."

"Yeah, we can go, but there's just one problem."

Sokka groaned, looking at Jet, "Now what?!"

"I um…. I can't remember where the entrance is. It's by some lake on the outskirts of the city, though."

There was nothing but silence for a few moments before Sokka said, "You better hope that the entrance is somewhere near that lake, because if it isn't? I'm going to drown you."

Azula telling her about the plot to kill Zuko.

Her and Ozai getting into a screaming match, telling him that his stupidity had condemned their son, all because he wanted the throne, and Ozai saying that it's not like he wanted this to happen, but the Firelord's word is the law.

Coming up with a plan that would spare Zuko's life and put Ozai on the throne.

Going into Azulon's room and killing him in his sleep.

Ozai then banished her for committing treason.

Going into Zuko's room and waking him up to say goodbye, as well as to never forget who he was.

Leaving without saying goodbye to Azula.

Heading to Ba Sing Se for safety and to figure out what her next move would be.

Getting captured by the Dai Li, and brought before a man who called himself Long Feng.

A blinding light going around in circles, and a voice saying "there is no war in Ba Sing Se."

Joo Dee went to bed, hoping that she could get some rest and that her headache that she had gotten after talking with the little girl would go away.

Ursa woke up from a nightmare that she had unknowingly been living in for the past few years.

Azula hadn't seen her mother since their conversation. Perhaps she has driven the woman away from her. Again.

She wouldn't want to be near a monster after all. Especially if by some miracle that conversation made her remember everything.

She wondered how many days she had been stuck down here for. She found herself missing the others, missing hearing Toph and Sokka call her "tiny princess". Not that she'd ever admit that to them. Assuming that she managed to get herself out of here. She missed Sokka the most though. Knowing that fool, he was probably blaming himself for her getting kidnapped, and doing everything that he could to find her and get her back, without a single concern for his own well-being. Hopefully the others would be able to keep him in check. Azula was broken out of her thoughts when she heard her cell door open. She looked up to see none other than her mother….who was crying for some reason.

"Why in the world are you crying? Look, if this is about me yelling at you the other day, which is really damn pathetic if all it takes to make you cry is a damn child yelling at-"

She didn't get to finish her sentence, because the woman ran towards her and pulled her into a fierce hug. When she calmed down enough to speak, she whispered one word into her ear.

"Azula"
